US Slave Free 1789-1861 - Slave and free states

An animation showing the free/slave status of U.S. states and territories, 1789-1861 (see also: separate yearly maps below). The Civil War began in 1861. Slavery was abolished by the 13th Amendment, effective December 1865.

Blacks owned as many slaves as white people.

And some blacks held white indentured servants. The history of slavery in this country (and the rest of the world) is murkier than the race hustlers would have you believe.

I didn't hear anything in the way of any celebration of the 150th anniversary of the 13th Amendment, which occurred on December 6th.
Seems kind of strange.

4:46 PM - Maybe it's because there's so little to celebrate after 150 years. Too many of the descendants of slaves are slaves themselves, to the government and their own self destructive culture.
