House explodes in Howard County

COLUMBIA, Md. —A town home exploded in Howard County, triggering a three-alarm fire, county fire officials said.

The explosion happened just before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 12200 block of Sleepy Horse Lane in Columbia.

One Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. employee was injured, but the extent of the injuries was not immediately known, and it wasn't clear if the worker was there at the time of the explosion.
