What the Pope said this week should absolutely terrify you

While many in the media have reported on Pope Francis’s remarks this week, much of that coverage has been focused on his naming of Palestine as a state. His comments about Christian martyrdom, however, have received much less attention.

The Catholic News Agency reported: [Pope Franis] encouraged Christians to turn to the Holy Spirit to remind them of Jesus’ words, and guide them in preparing to be witnesses “with small every day martyrdoms, or with a great martyrdom, according to God’s will.”

… “They will expel you from the synagogues: in fact, the hour is coming when everyone who kills you will think he is offering worship to God.”

“I saw that and I thought, okay, that’s probably the important part of the story, not the Palestinian recognition thing,” Glenn said. Glenn hoped that he was speaking to Christians in the Middle East and warning them to prepare for martyrdom if they were to face ISIS.
