I love how cops always find a way to sneak in "a blame the victim" sentence, but still act concerned. First of all, there shouldn't be any unwell, unlit, unsafe areas to park your cars in downtown Berlin if the cops were doing their job to begin with. Second, for all the taxes and overcharges the town of Berlin takes from hardworking residents, there should be plenty of money to make Berlin a well lit and safe place to live.
This ain't the town of Mayberry Andy and Barney need to surrender their badges and let's get some real police protection in this community.
nothing will change until we get a council that will stand up to the mayor and not take everything for granted that he says and rubber stamp everything just like the rain tax we pay and the ditches are still clogged they now plan to buy the Tyson property from a council person and I heard the mayors mothers house and possibly his house are in the lines to purchase as they are close to the Tyson property. then we have all that property not collecting county or town property taxes plus a new parks and rec department to pay for. the casino money was to be for the police now mayor states it will be used to pay for the Tyson plant what that tells me is parks are above public safety---I know the kids need something to do but we have parks now and county has park space by the lions club
Nothing is this press release remotes indicates that police are "blaming the victim" Police CAN NOT be everywhere at once especially with a small dept like Berlin where only 1 or 2 officers work at a time.
@1:56 pm yes it most certainly does. The sentence that starts with "as a crime prevention suggestion". Wake up. Let suggest rape victims don't wear short skirts or walk alone at night. You can suggest all you want, but the fact IS, we don't have well lit streets and since people know there are only 2 on duty, they can't be every where. But this town has increased in size and businesses. I saw 6 police vehicles while driving by dunking Donuts on Saturday morning. I guess one cop couldn't buy a dozen and share.
