WASHINGTON - A new restaurant promotion is urging diners to help restore Chesapeake Bay oysters by ordering Maryland seafood.
The Oyster Recovery Partnership and the matchbox Food Group are organizing the "From the Bay, For the Bay" promotion next week in Washington. Organizers say restaurants from Pennsylvania to Virginia are taking part in the promotion. Participating restaurants will donate $1 for every Maryland seafood dinner sold between Sunday and the following Sunday. The Oyster Recovery Partnership says each dollar donated allows it to plant 100 baby oysters in the bay.
