GOVERNOR MARTIN O’MALLEY TO PARTICIPATE IN DEPLOYMENT CEREMONY FOR MARYLAND NATIONAL GUARD SOLDIERS

ANNAPOLIS, MD (February 11, 2011) – Governor Martin O’Malley will participate in a deployment ceremony for more than 170 members of the Maryland Army National Guard tomorrow.  The deployment, for the 1729th Field Support Maintenance Co., includes more than 170 members of the Havre de Grace-based unit who will deploy to Fort Hood, Texas for training prior to deploying to Iraq for approximately one year in support of Operation New Dawn. 

The Governor will join Major General James A. Adkins, Adjutant General of Maryland, for the ceremony.
