On October 7, 2010 at approximately 9:25 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police arrested the below listed suspect on an outstanding arrest warrant obtained after the investigation of the fraudulent use of a business credit account. Salisbury Detectives obtained the warrant following the investigation of fraud that occurred for a period of approximately four (4) years. The suspect was found to have utilized an unauthorized business account to purchase gasoline for this period of time in excess of $ 12,000.00. The purchases were made in a number of local gasoline stations.

ARRESTED: Amanda Rae Jones, 21 years of age

CHARGES: Theft scheme ($1000 to $10,000) (2 counts)

On October 7, 2010 at approximately 9:57 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the nine hundred (900) block of N. Division St. for the report of a suspicious subject in the area of some parked vehicles. The officers were provided the description of the suspect and located the suspect in the area of N. Division St. and Philadelphia Avenue. The suspect fled from the officers on foot and was caught after a substantial foot chase. Witnesses advised the officers that the suspect had been seen in possession of a tan women’s pocketbook just prior to the officers arrival. The officers checked the area and located the pocketbook that had been discarded by the suspect. The officers located the owner of the pocketbook who advised that the pocketbook had been stolen from her vehicle behind her residence.
