Leaders Lead, Politicians Use Clichés
ANNAPOLIS – The Bob Ehrlich for Maryland campaign released the following statement today from Communications Director Henry Fawell regarding today’s debate and Martin O’Malley’s latest attempt today to change the subject from his legacy of massive job losses, record tax increases, and ballooning budget deficits by making stuff up.
“Today’s debate once again reminded Marylanders of the two distinct choices they have for governor; one candidate who is focused on improving Maryland’s future and another who is focused on making stuff up, avoiding his own failed record, and spending more money that state doesn’t have. Governor O’Malley has spent the last six months making false statements and today was no different. Whether it is claiming he created 33,000 jobs when unemployment actually doubled or attacking Bob Ehrlich on taxes when he authored, passed, and enacted the largest tax increase in Maryland’s history, Martin O’Malley’s entire campaign is based on misleading Maryland voters, spending money we don’t have, and raising taxes. Bob Ehrlich once again proved there is the only candidate in the race who has pledged to make job creation and tax cuts his first priorities for Maryland families.”
