Secretary of State Mike Pompeo cast doubt on the testimony of the top U.S. diplomat in Ukraine by suggesting that the envoy might have misread the diplomatic dialogues that sparked an impeachment inquiry.
“We all, as human beings, can get it wrong,” Pompeo said Friday. “We see things through a certain prism; we address things in a certain way. We all have a responsibility to make sure we’re getting it as right as we can each and every day.”
The Ukraine controversy has put Pompeo in an awkward position, as some of the testimony about whether President Trump abused his power in urging Ukrainian officials to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden has come from current State Department employees. The Democrat-led inquiry has spurred criticism that Pompeo has failed to protect the diplomatic corps, while Trump is defending himself by attacking the credibility of the State Department officials.

Why Women Live Longer Than Men
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), women on average live anywhere from 5 to 7 years longer than men. There are several key factors that influence the life expectancy differences between men and women. Men and boys are more likely to be involved in risky and violent behavior than women and girls. More men die from suicide, murder, car accidents, and cardiovascular related diseases than do women. The major factor however, that influences life expectancy is genetic make-up. Women typically live longer than men because of their genes.
Scientists believe that the key to why women live longer than men is gene mutation. DNA mutations in the mitochondria of men account largely for the differences in life expectancy between men and women. Mitochondria are cell organelles that provide the energy needed for cellular function. With the exception of red blood cells, all cells have mitochondria. Mitochondria have their own DNA, ribosomes, and can make their own proteins.
Mutations in mitochondrial DNA were found to increase the rate at which males age, thus lowering their life expectancy. These same mutations in females however, do not influence aging. During sexual reproduction, the resultant offspring receive genes from both the father and mother. Mitochondrial DNA however, is only passed on via the mother. Mutations that occur in female mitochondria are monitored through genetic variation so that only favorable genes are passed from one generation to the next. Mutations that occur in male mitochondrial genes are not monitored so the mutations accumulate over time. This causes males to age faster than females.

Rep. Jason Smith: Impeachment farce causing crippling congressional chaos
Never before in our history has the House of Representatives pursued an unsanctioned impeachment investigation of a president. Since launching the unilateral crusade against President Trump, Speaker Nancy Pelosi has failed to provide any institutional rules for these proceedings — a clearly partisan campaign in direct defiance of our democratic values of due process. Worst of all, at a time when our congressional to-do list includes keeping the government open and functioning beyond Nov. 21, the impeachment undertaking has unleashed crippling chaos in Congress.
It is not simply Republicans who are furious at what is taking place in the halls of Congress, but even members of the majority party are urging their leadership to regain sanity. New Jersey Democratic Rep. Jeff Van Drew is one such member. NBC News reported, "As Van Drew sees it, impeachment is a pointless, divisive exercise that will poison the well of bipartisanship and prevent Congress from taking up more important issues, like prescription drug prices and infrastructure."
I couldn’t agree more. There are so many opportunities for Congress to get legislation to the president’s desk to help middle-class Americans which are falling by the wayside because of this impeachment craze.

Larry C. Johnson: ‘Honey Badger’ Attorney Sidney Powell Announces Breakthrough in DOJ Case Against General Flynn
Another shoe dropped this week and it ain’t looking good for the Mueller legacy. General Michael Flynn’s lawyer, the Honey Badger Sidney Powell, filed on Wednesday (23 October) a formal request that Judge Sullivan order the publication of Flynn’s Reply to the Government’s Opposition to the Motion to Compel. To briefly recap–Sidney Powell filed a motion (see my piece about Michael Flynn’s motion to compel production of Brady material). The DOJ lawyers went nuts and behaved like a crazed Pee Wee Herman (see here) and insisted they did not need to produce anything.
The Government lawyers argument was simple and moronic–i.e., they said that because Flynn pled guilty to a charge where the Government knew he had not lied bur insisted he was still guilty. Stupid logic like this is, I believe, one of the reasons the average person hates lawyers.
Sidney Powell has prepared a response to the Government’s rebuttal and agreed to edit out some portions that mentioned names or referred to specific classified info. But the Government lawyers are trying to stonewall her and prevent her response from going public. Here’s what the Honey Badger wrote explaining the Government misconduct:

Jury Awards $100,000 To Student Boston College Punished For A Different Student’s Assault
Warning: This article quotes a graphic description of sexual assault.
Last month, a jury awarded former Boston College student John Doe $100,000 for how the college mishandled sexual assault allegations against him. The case, Doe v. Trustees of Boston College, is the first of its kind to reach a jury since 2011, when Obama-era rules began to govern campus sexual misconduct claims. It joins a long line of other such cases claiming that Title IX offices are breaking the law.
Title IX is the federal law banning sex discrimination at schools receiving federal funds. Since 2011, when the Obama Education Department issued a “Dear Colleague” letter declaring sexual violence a form of sex discrimination, colleges and universities have expanded their Title IX offices to process sexual misconduct complaints as potential discriminatory acts. Title IX “coordinators,” “investigators,” and “adjudicators” now act as police, jury, and judge for such accusations, which often result in suspension, expulsion, or summary ejection off campus for the accused.
Title IX officials rarely have formal legal training, however, and frequently abridge basic principles of justice, including those informing due process. Those principles include the accused’s presumption of innocence, the right of all parties to call and cross-examine witnesses, and — particularly relevant for this case — the right of all parties to see evidence, especially evidence that exonerates the accused or points to another suspect. In the case of John Doe at Boston College, the college not only ignored the obvious other suspect, but seemed not to care if it had the wrong guy.

Confirmed: Robert Mueller Tried to Tie Trump Team to Russia – And SIX OF EIGHT Events Were Deep State “Set Ups”
Larry Johnson released an excellent report a few days ago at the Gateway Pundit where he lists the eight cases in the Mueller report where the Deep State tried to tie President Trump and his campaign and administration to Russians. Of these eight events, six were set ups by the Deep State.

He’s the First African American to Receive a Face Transplant. His Story Could Change Health Care
Robert Chelsea turned down the first face he was offered. It was a fine face, one that could have taken him off the transplant waiting list after just a couple months. But Chelsea—severely disfigured after a catastrophic car accident five years earlier—was in no hurry. He’d gotten used to tilting his head back so food and water wouldn’t fall out of his nearly lipless mouth. He knew how to respond compassionately to children who stared in shock and fear. The face, offered in May 2018, had belonged to a man with skin that was much fairer than what remained of Chelsea’s—so light that Chelsea, who is African American, couldn’t bear the thought of becoming “a totally different looking person.”
Chelsea’s doctors understood his hesitance. Face transplants in general are rare. Since the first partial one was performed in France in 2005, fewer than 50 have been completed worldwide. A new patient joining the ranks is always noteworthy, but Chelsea’s case carries even more weight than usual. Because he is the first African American to receive a full face transplant, Chelsea’s treatment is expected to have ripple effects that transcend his case. Disparities in the medical system that cause black Americans to die at higher rates than whites of so many things—like heart disease, cancer diabetes and HIV/AIDS—have also produced gaps in organ donation and transplantation. Widespread mistrust of the medical system has made many African Americans wary of tissue donation, contributing to donor shortages; in turn, only 17% of black patients awaiting an organ transplant got one in 2015, compared with about 30% of white patients.

Medically Necessary Or 'Cruel'? Inside The Battle Over Surgery On Intersex Babies
When Kimberly Zieselman was 41, she got hold of her medical records from Massachusetts General Hospital. What she found was shocking.
The words "male pseudo hermaphrodite" were written on her chart.
Zieselman discovered she was born with XY chromosomes. Until that moment, she had no idea she was born intersex, an umbrella term used to describe people born with male and female anatomical characteristics.
As a teenager, Zieselman came to discover, doctors had performed surgery on her reproductive organs in an effort to conform her anatomy to fit one mold — a move that had serious psychological ramifications for her later on in life, she said, and that was done without her complete, informed consent.
Like, Zieselman, many intersex adults who underwent procedures as babies have dealt with painful consequences later in life. Now 53, Zieselman has become a part of a growing movement within the intersex community speaking out against surgeries performed on intersex babies. Unless surgery is medically necessary, activists say, doctors should not interfere. Some activists are lobbying their state governments to pass legislation to ban surgeries that are medically unnecessary – such legislation has already been proposed in California and Connecticut.

George Soros: Elizabeth Warren Is ‘Most Qualified to Be President’
Progressive billionaire George Soros declared in a newly-released interview that 2020 White House contender Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is “the most qualified to be president.”
“She has emerged as the clear-cut person to beat,” Soros said of Warren to the New York Times. “I don’t take a public stance, but I do believe that she is the most qualified to be president.”
The 89-year-old mega Democrat donor stopped short of endorsing Warren, stating his remarks should not be received as such.
“I’m not endorsing anybody because I want to work with whoever,” he stated. “I don’t express my views generally because I have to live with whoever the electorate chooses.”

Fentanyl is the drug behind more overdose deaths in the Eastern US, while meth kills more in the Western states, CDC report reveals
Fentanyl is driving up drug overdose deaths in the US but, in nearly half of the country, methamphetamine is the biggest killer, a new report reveals.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Health Statistics, fentanyl was associated with nearly 39 percent of all drug overdose deaths in 2017.
That's an increase from 2016 when fentanyl, the synthetic opioid 100 times stronger than morphine, was responsible for 29 percent of all fatal overdoses.
The report is based on 2017 figures when there were more than 70,000 overdose deaths in the US, two-thirds of them involving opioids.
However, there was a clear geographic divide.

All The Russia Collusion Clues Are Beginning To Point Back To John Brennan
Last weekend, NBC News reported that the Justice Department’s probe into the origins of the Russia collusion investigation is now focusing on the CIA and the intelligence community. NBC News soft-peddled this significant development by giving former CIA Director John Brennan a platform (a pen?) to call the probe “bizarre,” and question “the legal basis for” the investigation. Politico soon joined the spin effort, branding the investigation Attorney General William Barr assigned to Connecticut U.S. Attorney John Durham “Trump’s vengeance.”
However, if the media reports are true, and Barr and Durham have turned their focus to Brennan and the intelligence community, it is not a matter of vengeance; it is a matter of connecting the dots in congressional testimony and reports, leaks, and media spin, and facts exposed during the three years of panting about supposed Russia collusion. And it all started with Brennan.
That’s not how the story went, of course. The company story ran that the FBI launched its Crossfire Hurricane surveillance of the Trump campaign on July 31, 2016, after learning that a young Trump advisor, George Papadopoulos, had bragged to an Australian diplomat, Alexander Downer, that the Russians had dirt on Hillary Clinton. This tip from Downer, when coupled with WikiLeaks’s release of the hacked Democratic National Committee emails and evidence of Russian efforts to influence the 2016 presidential election, supposedly triggered the FBI’s decision to target the Trump campaign.

First construction of brand-new border wall in Texas begins
Construction on a new border wall in Texas where none previously existed has begun along the Rio Grande river, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) confirmed to Fox News on Friday.
While 75 miles of wall has already been built under the Trump administration, until now all of those structures replaced existing ones such as vehicle barriers or dilapidated fences, which were ineffective before being replaced, according to the agency.
The brand-new wall is under construction southeast of McAllen in Texas’s Rio Grande Valley sector, which sees the most illegal crossings of any border sector, with more than 325,000 people apprehended there through August this year, according to CBP.

Trump Accuses Obama Of "Treason"
President Trump has ratcheted up his claim that the Obama White House spied on his 2016 campaign, charging in a new book that it was a “treasonous” act by the former Democratic president.
“What they did was treasonous, OK? It was treasonous,” he told author Doug Wead for his upcoming book, "Inside Trump's White House: The Real Story of His Presidency."“The interesting thing out of all of this is that we caught them spying on the election. They were spying on my campaign. So you know? What is that all about?” said Trump.
“I have never ever said this, but truth is, they got caught spying. They were spying,” said Trump who then added, “Obama.”More
Why It’s Probably Not A Coincidence That The Mother Transing Her 7-Year-Old Isn’t Biologically Related
The story of seven-year-old James, whom his mother has pressured to become “Luna,” has been all over my newsfeed. The messy custody battle deserves every second of our click-bait-prone attention: Jeffrey Younger, James’s father, wants to keep his son’s body intact, while Anne Georgulas, James’s mother, wants to allow for “treatment” that would physically and chemically castrate him.
The havoc that divorce wreaks in a child’s life is mainstage in this tragic case. Most of us children of divorce quickly learn to act one way with mom and another way with dad. We can switch to a different set of rules, diet, family members, bedtime, screen time limits, and political convictions in that 20-minute ride from mom’s house to dad’s.
Unfortunately for little James, the adaptation he had to make went far beyond meat-lover’s pizza at dad’s house and cauliflower crusts at mom’s: it meant losing one of the most sacred aspects of his identity—his maleness. His dad loved him as a boy, so he got to be himself when he was at dad’s house. But mom showered love on the version of James she preferred, the one with the imaginary vagina.

Durham Investigation Is Criminal: a Disaster for the MSM
Winter may be coming but it's already Springtime for Lawyers in Washington, D.C. The list of people lawyering up these days would probably fill this page and lap over onto the next. It's just been announced that the John Durham investigation into the provenance of the Russia probe has turned into a criminal investigation.
Subpoenas and grand juries are coming, real ones, not the Star Chamber counterfeits being orchestrated by the panicked Democrats and their junior league Southern California Torquemada.
To those of us who have been watching this spectacle from the beginning, this was inevitable. After all, where'd the Mueller/Russia probe come from in the first place? Since there was absolutely no there there, it makes no sense that it wasn't a fraud from the outset. Who started it? Who are the treasonous/seditious culprits who conspired to overthrow an election? Well, we should soon be finding out, although we can make some educated guesses.

Sidney Powell Drops Bombshell Showing How The FBI Trapped Michael Flynn
Earlier this week, Michael Flynn’s star attorney, Sidney Powell, filed under seal a brief in reply to federal prosecutors’ claims that they have already given Flynn’s defense team all the evidence they are required by law to provide. A minimally redacted copy of the reply brief has just been made public, and with it shocking details of the deep state’s plot to destroy Flynn.
While the briefing at issue concerns Powell’s motion to compel the government to hand over evidence required by Brady and presiding Judge Emmett Sullivan’s standing order, Powell’s 37-page brief pivots between showcasing the prosecution’s penchant for withholding evidence and exposing significant new evidence the defense team uncovered that establishes a concerted effort to entrap Flynn. Along the way, Powell drops half-a-dozen problems with Flynn’s plea and an equal number of justifications for outright dismissal of the criminal charges against Flynn.
What is most striking, though, is the timeline Powell pieced together from publicly reported text messages withheld from the defense team and excerpts from documents still sealed from public view. The sequence Powell lays out shows that a team of “high-ranking FBI officials orchestrated an ambush-interview of the new president’s National Security Advisor, not for the purpose of discovering any evidence of criminal activity—they already had tapes of all the relevant conversations about which they questioned Mr. Flynn—but for the purpose of trapping him into making statements they could allege as false.”

Joe Biden Campaign Reverses Course on Super PACs amid Cash Crunch
Former Vice President Joe Biden’s campaign is reversing its position on accepting help from super PACs amid anemic fundraising.
Kate Bedingfield, the former vice president’s deputy campaign manager, announced the decision on Thursday, framing it as a result of the President Donald Trump’s willingness to “intervene directly” in the Democrat’s primary process. Claiming that the president and his allies were already “spending massive amount[s] of money” to prevent Biden from becoming the nominee, Bedingfield said the campaign had no choice to abandon its earlier pledge to discourage the aid of super Pacs.
“In this time of crisis in our politics, it is not surprising that those who are dedicated to defeating Donald Trump are organizing in every way permitted by current law to bring an end to this disastrous presidency,” Bedingfield said. “Nothing changes unless we defeat Donald Trump.”

Dems' Russia-Collusion Charade — The Criminal Investigation
We learned Thursday that U.S. Attorney John Durham’s Justice Department probe into the origins of the Russia-collusion hoax — a hoax that began as an intelligence investigation known as Crossfire Hurricane — has now become a criminal investigation. As Fox News explains, “The investigation’s new status means Durham can subpoena witnesses, file charges, and impanel fact-finding grand juries.” This is a significant development because it means that Durham has uncovered some form of criminal activity, though exactly what the crime is and the degree and scope of it is not yet known.
This is clearly not the news Democrats, fully invested in their partisan anti-Trump impeachment campaign, wanted to hear. In a joint statement, Democrat House Committee Chairmen Jerry Nadler (NY) and Adam Schiff (CA) responded, “These reports, if true, raise profound new concerns that the Department of Justice under Attorney General William Barr has lost its independence and become a vehicle for President [Donald] Trump’s political revenge. If the Department of Justice may be used as a tool of political retribution, or to help the President with a political narrative for the next election, the rule of law will suffer.”
Noting the irony of Nadler and Schiff’s statement, Mark Alexander comments, “So now that the Mueller investigation built on a partisan deep-state coup collapsed, any criminal investigation into its origins must be partisan. We are in very dangerous territory here with respect to our Constitution and Rule of Law, given that deep-state operatives and the federal government attempted to overthrow the president, and now those who should be, ostensibly, overseeing those agencies have become their protecters.”

Harris Announces Grant for Low Income Housing on Eastern Shore
WASHINGTON, DC: Rep. Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) announced the award of a $79,784 federal grant to SHORE UP! Inc., located in Salisbury. The grant was awarded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Rural Development.
SHORE UP! is a private, non-profit Community Action Partnership that has been serving the Eastern Shore for over 45 years. According to SHORE UP!, their main focus is to help people reach economic self-sufficiency. SHORE UP is an acronym for “Self-Help on Rural Economics and Urban Problems.”
The funds will be administered through the Housing Preservation Grants program. According to USDA, the grant will specifically be used “to repair and rehabilitate the homes of low and very-low income residents in Wicomico, Worcester and Somerset Counties in Maryland. Funds will enable Shore Up!, Inc. to offer low income homeowners grants and/or low interest loans for critical home repair projects designed to improve their living conditions. Because of this investment, homes repaired will then meet current property and safety standards.”
Rep. Andy Harris made the following statement:
“As a member of the Agriculture Subcommittee of the Committee on Appropriations, I applaud the award of this federal grant to SHORE UP!. I appreciate their efforts to help people become economically self-sufficient, and this federal investment will help families and local communities on the Eastern Shore. I understand rural America needs these investments to grow and thrive, and I am committed to supporting our local communities.”
