ICE arrests 75 in North Texas and Oklahoma areas during 4-day operation targeting criminal aliens and immigration fugitives

DALLAS — Federal officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) arrested 75 criminal aliens and immigration violators in North Texas and Oklahoma during a four-day enforcement action, which ended Thursday.

Aliens arrested during this operation are from the following seven countries: Mexico (58), Guatemala (6), Honduras (6), El Salvador (2), Kenya (1), Ecuador (1) and Vietnam (1).

Most of the aliens targeted by ERO deportation officers during this operation had prior criminal histories that included convictions for the following crimes: drug possession, assault, dangerous drugs, illegal entry, larceny, marijuana possession, possessing a weapon, failure to identify and identity theft.

What the UK’s Orwellian Gender Policy Gets Wrong About Men and Women

The British government has adopted a concerning new policy regulating speech. The New York Times reports a new policy banning the use of “harmful” gender stereotypes in advertising—yes, private ads.

The U.K.’s Advertising Standards Authority announced last week that it will “ban ads that connect physical features with success in the romantic or social spheres; assign stereotypical personality traits to boys and girls, such as bravery for boys and tenderness for girls; suggest that new mothers should prioritize their looks or home cleanliness over their emotional health; and mock men for being bad at stereotypically ‘feminine’ tasks, such as vacuuming, washing clothes, or parenting.”

The new policy was developed after a report from the agency supposedly found that ads containing such stereotypes “can lead to unequal gender outcomes in public and private aspects of people’s lives.”

Watch–Tom Cotton: If U.S. Can’t Deport Illegal Aliens Who Have Been Ordered Deported, Who Can We Deport?

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) questioned who federal immigration officials are allowed to deport if not illegal aliens who have already been ordered deported by an immigration judge.

Last week, President Trump backed down on a plan to deport about 2,000 illegal alien families that have been ordered deported by immigration judges, saying he would use the effort as a bargaining tool in talks with Democrats to pass legislation that reforms the country’s asylum laws.

State Fire Marshal Warns Public of the Dangers of Fireworks at Safety Demonstration HOWARD COUNTY, June 26, 2019 - State Fire Marshal Brian Geraci joined Howard County Fire and EMS Chief Christine Uhlhorn this morning, along with the Maryland State Firemen's Association and leaders in various medical fields, to present the dangers of legal and illegal fireworks.  "There were 17 fireworks-related incidents reported in Maryland last year," said State Fire Marshal Geraci. "Prevention of burns, injuries, and fires has always been a top priority of our office. The safest way to enjoy fireworks this July 4th holiday season is to attend one of the many public fireworks displays throughout the state."  The safety demonstration, conducted by the State Fire Marshal's Bomb Squad, showed the impacts of M-80s, firecrackers, and even sparklers on various parts of the human body, including the hands and eyes. "A sparkler can burn hot enough to melt gold," said Dr. Dean Fiergang, an ophthalmologist and executive board member of the Maryland Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. South Bend Police Blast Pete Buttigieg for Using Shooting ‘Solely for his Political Gain’

A South Bend, Indiana police union on Monday criticized Mayor Pete Buttigieg’s (D) handling of a recent police shooting in the city, saying his focus is predicated “solely for his political gain.”

Last week, Buttigieg was forced to temporarily leave his 2020 presidential campaign trail to hold what was a tense town hall with the South Bend police chief Scott Ruszkowski after an officer fatally shot Eric Logan, a 54-year-old African-American man who was allegedly breaking into vehicles with a knife.

In a blistering letter shared to Facebook, the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #36 stated Buttigeieg’s response to the shooting about boosting his candidacy for the White House, “not the health of the city he serves.”

Ocean City Police Warn Residents of Social Security & Bitcoin Scam

OCEAN CITY, MD – (June 26, 2019): The Ocean City Police Department (OCPD) is warning residents and visitors about scam phone calls from those who falsely claim to be from the Social Security Administration or a local, state or federal law enforcement agency. Most commonly, victims are contacted by the “Social Security Administration” and advised that their Social Security number has been used to open numerous accounts or is involved in some sort of illegal operation.

To protect their money or to avoid being arrested, victims have to send various sums of money to help resolve the situation. The most common forms of payment requested are prepaid gift cards, Bitcoin and bank wire transfers. “It is unfortunate but all too prevalent for scammers to use highly complex technology and the trust victims have for their own governmental and law enforcement agencies against them,” commented Ocean City Police Chief Ross Buzzuro. “Victims of this type of phone scam are not limited to senior citizens—these criminals are targeting every strata of society and every demographic is vulnerable.”

In many of the cases, a person posing as a “Police Officer” or “Law Enforcement Official” will intimidate or threaten victims to gain compliance. Victims are told that they will be arrested and/or their assets will be frozen. Scammers have claimed to be law enforcement and employ technology called “spoofing” to manipulate caller IDs to display the number of the Social Security

The scammers will often stay on the phone with the victims while they are going into stores to make their Bitcoin or gift card purchases and tell them not to let the store clerks know what is going on. They even tell them stories to make up so they will not be refused purchase of gift cards.

“Individuals will never be contacted by the OCPD, Social Security Administration or any Law Enforcement Agency and be asked to submit money or information over the phone,” Chief Buzzuro finished. “If contacted by anyone claiming to represent any such agency and asking for money, you should immediately hang up the phone.”

EXCESSIVE HEAT RETURNING TO THE AREA

(June 26, 2019, Salisbury, MD)  Another heat wave is expected to grip our region in the next few days.  Temperatures will again be in the lower 90 degrees with the heat index reaching mid to upper 90 degrees.  Infants, young children, young athletes, obese persons, those older than 65 years of age, and those persons with diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease or a mental illness are at increased risk for a heat related illness.   A heat-related illness can become life-threatening very quickly. 

The Wicomico County Health Department urges everyone to practice these stay cool safety tips: 

• Seek air-conditioned environments such as malls, libraries and public places.  Stay indoors.

·        Schedule outdoor activities before 10:00 am and after 6:00 pm.

·        Take a cool bath or shower.

·        Minimize direct exposure to the sun, if you must be outdoors, seek shade.

·        Stay hydrated – regularly drink water or other nonalcoholic fluids.

·        Eat light, cool, easy-to-digest foods such as fruit or salads.

·        Limit using the stove or oven to keep the house cooler. 

·        Check on others; co-workers, the elderly, and those living alone. 

·        Wear loose fitting, light-colored clothes.

·        Bring pets indoors.  If they must remain outside make sure they have shade and plenty of clean, fresh water.

National HIV Testing Day June 27th

(June 26, 2019, Salisbury, MD) National HIV Testing Day is June 27. On this annual observance, we encourage people to get tested for HIV, know their status, and get into treatment right away if they have HIV. This year’s theme Doing It My Way, is a call to action that encourages people to get tested for HIV in a way that is comfortable for them. You can test at your health care provider’s office, at another testing site, or even at home. However you choose to do it, get tested and know your current HIV status.

About 1.1 million people in the United States have HIV, and 1 in 7 of them don’t know they have it. People with HIV need to get a diagnosis as soon as possible so they can get treatment. Taking HIV medicine as prescribed can keep them healthy and protect their partners. CDC recommends that everyone between the ages 13 and 64 get tested for HIV at least once as part of routine health care and those at high risk get tested at least once a year. Howard County police notified about ICE activity in Columbia area

(WBFF) -- On Wednesday morning, the Howard County dispatch center received a notification that ICE would be in the Columbia area.

Howard County Police public information officer Sherry Llewellyn says this was a courtesy call to advise their personnel that there may be some activity, which is a standard operating procedure.

Officials say ICE did not request HCPD assistance, nor did the police department offer assistance.

Secret Service Take Chicago Restaurant Employee into Custody After She Spits on Eric Trump

U.S. Secret Service took an employee of a Chicago restaurant into custody Tuesday evening after she spit on President Donald Trump’s son Eric Trump, the president’s son told Breitbart News.

“It was purely a disgusting act by somebody who clearly has emotional problems,” Eric Trump told Breitbart News when reached by phone late Tuesday evening. “For a party that preaches tolerance, this once again demonstrates they have very little civility. When somebody is sick enough to resort to spitting on someone, it just emphasizes a sickness and desperation and the fact that we’re winning.”

Eric Trump spoke to Breitbart News late Tuesday evening after local news reporters revealed what happened.

Soros-Backed Group Plans $50M Ad Campaign to Swing Trump’s Rural Voters Using Healthcare

Here’s a headline to ponder: “Democrat group’s poll shows Trump vulnerable with his base on health care: American Bridge is planning a $50 million advertising campaign targeting small-town Trump supporters and swing voters.”

That headline appeared in Politico on June 24; the article explained that the goal of the Democrat group American Bridge is to chip away at Trump’s percentages in red rural areas. As American Bridge’s president, Bradley Beychok, said, “We’re trying to go from losing these segments [of voters] 85-15 to maybe 75-25.”

Such a nibble-around-the-edges strategy could bear fruit. For instance, in 2016, Donald Trump won 82 percent of the vote in Sioux County, Iowa, giving him a margin in that county of more than 12,000 votes. In the meantime, Trump won Iowa with only 52 percent, a mere 48,000 votes out of nearly a million-and-a-half ballots cast. So if American Bridge really could chisel down Trump’s super-majority numbers, the Democrats might succeed in flipping the Hawkeye State next year.

According to Politico, health care is the wedge-issue that American Bridge intends to wedge wider.

American Bridge, of course, is a group founded by David Brock, the Bill Clinton-basher-turned-fanboy-turned-high-dollar-fundraiser-turned-Hillary-Clinton-groupie.

What’s the Solution to Out of Control College Costs?

American colleges and universities are failing in one of their most basic missions: to equip students with the tools they need for a career.

Many students graduate ill-prepared to earn a living and pay off the debt they’ve accumulated getting their degrees—40 percent of those who start college don’t finish within six years.

Additionally, students are often subject to indoctrination into socialist ideology. They face hostility toward opinions that don’t conform to the predominantly leftist thinking on campus.

They’re also immersed in identity politics that pit students of different backgrounds against one another.

Despite these problems, colleges continue to raise tuition. Because federal loan money is handed out with little scrutiny as to the student’s ability to pay it back, colleges have had free reign to raise prices at levels often double the inflation rate.

Flush with all that money, their first spending priority often isn’t the classroom but the bureaucracy.

From 1987 to 2012, America’s higher education system added more than half a million administrators, doubling the number of administrators relative to the number of faculty.

To pay for these ever-increasing costs, students are borrowing more money and taking on more and more debt.

And with federal loans accounting for much of the $1.5 trillion in outstanding student loan debt and more than a million people defaulting on their loans, taxpayers are picking up much of the tab for this broken system.

So, what’s the solution?

Google Censors Video Exposing Google

Google-owned video platform YouTube took down a video from Project Veritas showing a senior employee at the company appearing to admit that the company plans to interfere in the next presidential election to stop Donald Trump.

The video, which is still available on the Project Veritas website featured undercover footage of a top Google employee, Jen Gennai, stating that the company shouldn’t be broken up because only they can prevent the “next Trump situation.”

"Elizabeth Warren is saying we should break up Google. And like, I love her but she’s very misguided, like that will not make it better it will make it worse, because all these smaller companies who don’t have the same resources that we do will be charged with preventing the next Trump situation, it’s like a small company cannot do that."

Latinos for Trump Break Out in ‘Build the Wall’ Chant

Chants of “build the wall” broke out at Tuesday’s rollout of the Donald J. Trump for President Latino Coalition event in Miami, Florida.

Vice President Mike Pence was headlining the launch of the Trump 2020 presidential campaign event when chanting broke out among what was described by New York Times Miami Bureau Chief Patricia Mazzei as a largely Cuban/Venezuelan/Nicaraguan American crowd, “Build the wall.”

“We need four more years for President Donald Trump,” Pence said sparking the crowd to begin chanting those same words.

It’s notable that Pence did this event in Miami on Tuesday because on Wednesday and Thursday in the same city the Democrat candidates for president will have their first debates in the same city. In addition to NBC and MSNBC hosting the debates, the Spanish language Telemundo is also co-hosting these first face offs among Democrats. Pence’s rollout of the Latino coalition for Trump comes as a pre-buttal of sorts to the coming Democrat onslaught on the president in Miami later this week.

“Chants of ‘Build the wall’ have broken out at Latinos for a trump event in Miami as Pence talks about border security,” Mazzei described.

PEDESTRIAN/BIKE PATH CONSTRUCTION BEGINS IN WEST OCEAN CITY

New Shared-Use Path Provides Critical Link to Downtown Ocean City; Partners Kick Off Walk Smart; Drive Smart; Bike Smart Campaign

With a unique combination of concrete, asphalt, and a boardwalk, by the end of this year residents, workers and tourists will have a continuous pedestrian/bike path from downtown Ocean City to MD 611 (Stephen Decatur Highway) in West Ocean City, Worcester County. The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway (MDOT SHA) announced the construction start of this path today as part of the kickoff to the 2019 Walk Smart pedestrian safety campaign.

MDOT SHA Administrator Greg Slater, along with District Engineer Jay Meredith, joined Ocean City Mayor Richard Meehan and Maryland State Police Lt. Earl W. Starner in West Ocean City to talk about the importance of the shared path and stress their commitment to traveler safety.

“One of the best ways to enjoy Ocean City is by foot and bicycle, and this project will enable pedestrians and bicyclists to travel safely between the downtown and West Ocean City areas,” MDOT SHA Administrator Slater said. “We want to use every tool in our toolbox to make travel safe for all roadway users.”

Bodycam captures moment Georgia deputies discover newborn wrapped in plastic grocery bag

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Her current name is "Baby India," and detectives with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) near Atlanta are hoping you might know where her mother is.

The FCSO released officer bodycam footage of the infant, being uncovered from a plastic grocery bag.

Neighbors heard a baby crying in the nearby woods and discovered "Baby India" on June 6th.

On Tuesday morning, the FCSO shared the body camera footage from that incident, in the hopes that someone who knows about this case can contact authorities.
