Forget "Thanks, Obama!" These days it's more like "Thanks, Millennials!"
Millennials, also known as "Generation Y," are people born in the time period between the early 1980s to the early 2000s, and we can't help but notice that they have pretty much become the scapegoats for everything that's wrong, bad, or simply evolving in our world. The tradition of older generations blaming younger generations for the world's problems is nothing new; the baby boomers used to complain about Generation X like crazy too, remember? But nowadays the stuff that the younger generation is getting blamed for is downright ridiculous.
Sure, the so-called "Me-Generation" has different priorities and goals than their parents' generation. No one is arguing that fact. Generally speaking, millennials are more interested in maintaining healthy eating habits, spending their money on experiences rather than physical possessions, and working tirelessly to get out from under all that crippling student loan debt. And of course, one can't overlook the fact that they grew up surrounded by sweet, sweet internet.
Earlier generations had to rely on things like books to find information - imagine! They had to actually drive to stores for things instead of ordering items online and having them delivered to their doorstep in two days. They had to walk to school each day, uphill BOTH WAYS. Life was tougher! People were more resilient! Blah blah blah. We're not buying it.

Is there an answer to the problem of identity politics in America? For some, the “solution” is direct.
“We need to take on the oppression narrative,” conservative commentator Heather Mac Donald said at a Heritage Foundation gathering on Capitol Hill.
Americans need to “rebut” the idea “that every difference in American society today is the result by definition of discrimination,” Mac Donald said during the event Monday, called “Identity Politics Is a Threat to Society. Is There Anything We Can Do About It at This Point?”
Without challenging this overarching narrative, the Manhattan Institute fellow said, “there is going to be no end to identity politics.”

The Barack Obama Foundation enjoyed a banner year in 2017, accumulating almost $232 million in tax-free donations.
According to the 990 tax form it filed with the Internal Revenue Service for 2017, revenue rose exponentially from the previous year when it only raised about $13 million. Senior executives also enjoyed more than ample remuneration, with the foundation’s executive director, Robbie Cohen, receiving a salary of $862,055 that year. Chief Executive Officer David Simas was paid $614,636 in salary and compensation.
The tax form indicates that “the Foundation’s mission to honor the legacy of President Barack Obama and to inspire, empower and” — it ends without finishing the sentence.

Tyson Timbs, an Indiana man desperate for money to support his heroin habit, did exactly what the undercover cops asked him to do: sell them 4 grams of the drug in two transactions for a total of $385. His reward was a year of home detention, five years of probation and $1,200 in court-ordered fees.

Some arguments against the modest prison and sentencing reforms in the Senate’s First Step Act echo an influential claim from the 1970s attributed to the late sociologist Robert Martinson: When it comes to reducing recidivism rates among inmates, “nothing works.”
Once taken out of its original context, that claim resounded in legislatures across the country ever since.
Unfortunately, few lawmakers know the context of that claim, or how Martinson’s research later developed, or what the full story means for the First Step Act.
So, here it is.
At its core, the First Step Act would seek to reduce crime by subjecting each federal inmate to a validated risk and needs assessment; evaluating each federal inmate’s risk of committing an offense once they re-join society, as 95 percent will; and matching inmates to programs designed to address whatever issues factored into their personal choice to victimize others, be it a lack of anger management skills or education, substance abuse issues, or something else.

Drug-fueled fight over oatmeal turns fatal: Man dies months later of gunshot wound to the head
A Pennsylvania man died of his injuries this week, months after his wife shot him in the head during a drug-fueled argument about oatmeal, authorities said.
John Maki, 29, of Fayette County, was shot in the head April 5 after smoking crack cocaine with his wife, when he complained that she bought traditional oatmeal instead of the instant variety, authorities said.
Maki’s wife, Rachel Eutsey, 36, was previously charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and child endangerment in connection with the case. No information was immediately available on whether she will face additional charges following the death.
"It's believed (the fight was) over the brand of oats that she purchased for him. Apparently he wasn't happy over the traditional oats that she bought instead of the instant oats that he wanted," state police Trooper Robert Broadwater told Pittsburgh’s WTAE-TV.

Black college lacrosse player Fynn Ajani Arthur was arrested in connection to two incidents on campus where he posted graffiti on a campus dorm and similar graffiti earlier in November.
The graffiti called for the murder of all black students on campus.
Arthur is a mixed black student.
Arthur graduated from Brunswick in 2015, according to the Press Herald, and is a public health major at Goucher College in Towson, Maryland.

Conservative author Jerome Corsi on Monday filed a “criminal and ethics complaint” against Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team, accusing investigators of trying to bully him into giving “false testimony” against President Trump.
The complaint, which Corsi had threatened for days, is the latest escalation between Mueller’s team and its investigation targets.
The 78-page document, asserting the existence of a “slow-motion coup against the president,” was filed to a range of top law enforcement officials including Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker, DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz, D.C.’s U.S. Attorney Jessie Liu and the Bar Disciplinary Counsel.
“Dr. Corsi has been criminally threatened and coerced to tell a lie and call it the truth,” the complaint states.
Corsi, who wrote the anti-President Obama book "The Obama Nation" and is connected with political operative Roger Stone, has claimed for the past week that he was being improperly pressured by Mueller’s team to strike a plea deal which he now says he won’t sign.

Report: Most Migrant Households Rely on Welfar
President Donald Trump’s draft plan to exclude welfare-dependent migrants is justified by data showing that almost two-thirds of households headed by non-citizens use at least one welfare program, says the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS).
“In 2014, 63 percent of households headed by a non-citizen reported that they used at least one welfare program, compared to 35 percent of native-headed households,” says the group’s December 3 report, which relies on federal data to track migrant use of welfare.
“A very large share of immigrants are unable to support their own children and turn to taxpayer-funded means-tested programs,” the report says. “In terms of the policy debate over immigration and the implications for public coffers, this is the central concern.”
