First CEO Pulls NFL Ad Money Over ‘Unpatriotic’ National Anthem Protests

And the backlash continues. Allan Jones is the CEO of Hardwick Clothes and payday lending chain Check Into Cash. He’s had just about all he can take of this “unpatriotic” crap over the National Anthem in the NFL. He says he is done with advertising during NFL football games and sponsoring wardrobe options for NBC’s on-air talent during NFL broadcasts. He issued a statement that proclaimed his companies “will not condone unpatriotic behavior,” according to the Chattanooga Times Free Press. I do like a man who has principles. That was the right thing to do even if it costs him financially.

Jones has directed his media buyer, the Tombras Group, to pull all of his companies’ commercials from NFL games “for the entire season.” “For the 29 states we operate in, this isn’t much to them, but it’s a lot to us,” Jones said. I’m sure it is. “The Tombras Group is our ad agency in Knoxville and our national media buyer for both TV and radio (for Check Into Cash) and don’t look for Hardwick on the NFL either.” I hope that many more follow Jones after all of this outrageous behavior in the NFL.

Democrats Say Immigration Could Hurt Republicans In 2018 Or Something

If Donald Trump and the GOP do not defend people who are unlawfully present in the United States, it could mean doom, because people who tend to not vote GOP will not vote GOP again

Immigration controversy could hurt GOP, Democratic poll finds

President Donald Trump’s immigration policies could take Texas and other states with big Latino populations down the same path as reliably Democratic California – if Republicans in Congress don’t support the Dream Act, a new Democratic poll suggests.

Leaders of the Latino Victory Project, which paid for the nationwide poll, found Hispanic voters overwhelmingly disapprove of Trump after his first eight months in office. Trump won 28 percent of the Latino vote in the 2016 election, according to exit polls. The new survey, conducted earlier this month, showed 24 percent approve of the job he’s doing now.

Epidemic of Anal Cancer Among Gays

It is not all rainbow flags, feathered boas, show tunes, and self-righteous political bullying. Homosexuality entails wallowing in disease not only in the moral, spiritual, and psychiatric, but also the medical sense. AIDS is one obvious example. Anal cancer is another:

Almost 620,000 gay and bisexual men in the United States were living with HIV in 2014, and 100,000 of these men were not even aware of their infection. These men are 100 times more likely to have anal cancer than HIV-negative men who exclusively have sex with women. …

Anal cancer is predominantly caused by chronic or persistent human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. HPV infection can lead to the development of anal precancer which, if remains undetected or not adequately treated, may lead to anal cancer.

Maybe we just need more awareness, right? Or maybe prevention would be better:

The objective of screening is to identify and treat these precancers to prevent occurrence of anal cancer. However, one of the reasons for the lack of screening guidelines is that anal precancer treatment has not yet been shown to prevent invasive cancer.

FBI Director Warns: Terrorists Are Looking To Use Drones To Attack U.S.

An FBI Director is now warning that terrorists are looking to use drones to instigate attacks on American soil.

Christopher Wray spoke to Congress, testifying that “I think we do know that terrorist organizations have an interest in using drones.” He was speaking to the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee at the time he made these remarks.

“We’ve seen [drone use by terrorists] overseas already with growing frequency.”

He went on to say that they now expecting that the same kind of drone attacks will be launched in the US “imminently.” He pointed to the fact that drones are “relatively easy” to purchase, own and operate, and they are difficult to “disrupt and monitor.”

You can watch the two minute answer her Director Wray here, when he is asked by a member to describe the threat of unmanned drones:

JUST IN: First Grader Punished For Kneeling During Pledge of Allegiance

We’ve been discussing players in the National Football League kneeling before and during the national anthem, but they all have one thing in common: They’re adults. Punishing them by taking away their funding and yelling at them about patriotism doesn’t make us feel bad because they’re all over the age of 18.

However, what do you do when a first grader kneels for the pledge of allegiance? It’s not like you can really do anything to them, at least not on the same scale as you would a professional football player.

One teacher in Florida faced this exact situation in her classroom, and she dealt with it in a way that many are going to view as more than appropriate.

National Sanctuary City Sting Ends With Nearly 500 Illegal Aliens Arrested

President Donald Trump hasn’t appeared to be all that focused on his campaign promise of cracking down on illegal immigration, complete with a new border wall, but the facts don’t lie. While the media was busy clutching their proverbial pearls over the President’s comments regarding the National Football League, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were hard at work rustling up illegal immigrants in sanctuary cities.

ICE officials confirmed that 498 criminal aliens were detained by law enforcement in the course of a four-day long sting that targeted 10 cities around the nation.

And before liberals jump on their high horses about “breaking up families” and “innocent brown people just trying to achieve the American dream,” these people are not the kind of people we want living in the United States.

317 of them had criminal convictions, 68 of them are immigration fugitives, 104 of them came back into the country illegally after previous deportations, and 18 of them are known gang members, or have gang affiliations.

107 of them were detained in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

NFL Investors Reconsider Their Support After Nat’l Anthem Protests- This Is Going To Hurt!

It is now known that the NFL is facing some issues with this whole kneeing debacle, and they aren’t going to like that outcome of the consequences if they keep it up. Not only are they having to deal with the records ratings plummeting, but they now know that their investors are not happy with the way things are going, and they are hemorrhaging.

The culprits that are pitted against the NFL: JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s Shawn Quigg. Both of them are making moves to exhort investors to stay away from CBS stock right before the big NFL Week 4 starts on the network.

Bloomberg the magazine actually had an article:

“The bank recommends buying an option that gives you the right to sell the shares at $57.50 on the likelihood that the stock will fall below that price after the company discloses ratings for the games. CBS closed at $58 on Tuesday.”

FAA Restricts Drones Over Major U.S. Landmarks

The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a new regulation restricting unauthorized drone operations over 10 Department of Interior sites, including the Statue of Liberty and Mount Rushmore.

The announcement Thursday says the two federal agencies "have agreed to restrict drone flights up to 400 feet within the lateral boundaries" of the following sites:
Statue of Liberty National Monument, New York
Boston National Historical Park (U.S.S. Constitution), Boston
Independence National Historical Park, Philadelphia
Folsom Dam, Folsom, Calif.
Glen Canyon Dam, Lake Powell, Ariz.
Grand Coulee Dam, Grand Coulee, Wash.
Hoover Dam, Boulder City, Nev.
Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, St. Louis
Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Keystone, S.D.
Shasta Dam, Shasta Lake, Calif.

The announcement says the action comes at "the request of U.S. national security and law enforcement agencies." It says it marks the first time the FAA has restricted drone flights over Interior Department landmarks, although many of the sites were covered by a National Park Service ban on drones issued in 2014.

After Scuffle, Census To Add Sexual Orientation Question To Marketing Survey

After an outcry from advisers to the U.S. Census Bureau, the federal agency is no longer considering a proposal to remove a question about sexual orientation from a marketing survey for the 2020 Census.

Members of a working group of the bureau's National Advisory Committee on Racial, Ethnic and Other Populations on a conference call on Tuesday with bureau staffers raised concerns after learning about the proposal to change the draft questionnaire for the Census Barriers, Attitudes and Motivators Survey, or CBAMS, according to meeting minutes obtained by NPR.

Responses to this survey help the bureau craft its marketing campaign to encourage different segments of the U.S. population to participate in the 2020 Census. The survey's questions try to gauge why certain people — especially among what the bureau considers "hard-to-count" populations, such as racial and ethnic minorities, unauthorized immigrants, and the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community — do not participate.

The bureau first commissioned this marketing survey in 2008 for the roll-out of the 2010 Census. In preparation for the 2020 Census, the bureau published a Federal Register notice in August to collect public comments on a new draft questionnaire, which included for the first time a question about the respondent's sexual orientation.

World War I Still Haunts America

This year is the 100th anniversary of Woodrow Wilson’s pulling America into World War I. Many people celebrate this centenary of America’s emergence as a world power. But at a time when the Trump administration is bombing or rattling sabers at half a dozen nations and many Democrats are clamoring to bloody Russia, it is worth reviewing how World War I turned out so much worse than the experts and politicians promised.

Wilson was narrowly reelected in 1916 on the basis of a campaign slogan, “He kept us out of war.” But Wilson had massively violated neutrality by providing armaments and money to the Allied powers that had been fighting Germany since 1914. At the same time, he had no quarrel with the British blockade that was slowly starving the German people. In his April 1917 speech to Congress seeking a declaration of war against Germany, he hailed the U.S. government as “one of the champions of the rights of mankind” and proclaimed that “the world must be made safe for democracy.”

American soldiers helped turn the tide on the Western Front in late 1918. But the cost was far higher than Americans anticipated. More than 100,000 American soldiers died in the third-bloodiest war in U.S. history. Another half- million Americans perished from the Spanish Flu epidemic spurred and spread by the war. But the political damage lasted far longer.

Gorka on Alabama Senate Primary: Draining the Swamp Is About Defeating GOP Establishment

Dr. Sebastian Gorka, former Deputy Assistant to President Trump and National Security editor for Breitbart News, and now chief strategist for the MAGA Coalition, joined Steve Bannon and Raheem Kassam on Tuesday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily to talk about the Alabama Senate race.

Gorka said that voters in Alabama understand that voting for Judge Roy Moore in the GOP Senate primary does not compromise their support for President Trump, even though he has endorsed Moore’s opponent, Luther Strange.

“I’ve got a lot of guys on Twitter that are scratching their heads and saying, ‘What’s going on with the president?’ Everybody in Alabama I spoke to totally got it. They know the president’s intuition is to go with Judge Moore. That’s why we had that fascinating line in his speech – I think he went off-script, and he said, ‘Oh, by the way, if Luther Strange loses, I’m going to be right behind Judge Moore all the way,’” said Gorka.

The Illusion Of Prosperity

For the last 50 years, the consumer, that means you and me, have been the most powerful force driving the U.S. economy.Household spending now accounts for almost 70% of economic growth, about 10% more than it did in 1971. Household spending in the U.S. is also approximately 10-15% higher than most other developed nations.

Currently, U.S. economic growth is anemic and still suffering from the after-shocks of the financial crisis. Importantly, much of that weakness is the result of growing stress on consumers.

Using the compelling graph below and the data behind it, we can illustrate why the U.S. economy and consumers are struggling.

Rand Paul: Repeal Obamacare In Full

Sen. Rand Paul called out Congress for going back on its promise to repeal Obamacare, and said he cannot support a bill that keeps Affordable Care Act spending in place during a Wednesday interview on “Fox and Friends.”

“I wish we would just repeal it,” Paul said. “There’s probably no bigger opponent of Obamacare than myself. As a physician I’ve seen Obamacare up close and personal. It’s a terrible system. But we promised to repeal it. We didn’t go to Tea Party rallies and shout, I didn’t hear anybody chanting ‘hey guys let’s keep Obamacare and let’s divvy it up to the states and mess with the formula so we take some money from the Democrats and give to Republicans.’ We said we’d repeal it. We didn’t say we’d keep it and block grant it.”

Paul said he spoke with President Donald Trump, and was convinced that the White House would legalize the sale of health insurance across state lines.

“He [Trump] assures me that he is going to legalize the sale of across state insurance through associations. Which means any individual, millions of individuals in our country will be able to buy insurance through a group. Get cheaper prices, and get a better product,” he said. “Obamacare is going to get worse. We will get other chance but we should also do some things that are good for the country, and good for health care immediately.”

Catalan Police Ordered To Close And Occupy Polling Stations To Stop Vote Going Ahead

The Catalan Police (Mossos) have been ordered by the Public Prosecutor's Office to close and occupy all premises that will or might be used as polling stations in the region to prevent them from being used for Sunday's independence referendum vote, suspended by the Constitutional Court.

The Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed to The Spain Report on Wednesday morning that the document and the orders it contains were genuine.

Officers must close and cordon off the centres until 9 p.m. on Sunday evening and make it clear that the police cordon is not to be broken, warning people they are liable to criminal prosecution if they do so.

Steve Bannon: Roy Moore’s Victory Part of ‘Populist Nationalist Conservative Revolt’ Against Globalist Elites Who Treat Working Class as a 'Commodity'

Breitbart News Executive Chairman Steve Bannon discussed Judge Roy Moore’s Tuesday night victory in the Alabama Senate primary on Wednesday morning’s edition of Breitbart News Daily on SiriusXM.

Bannon described Moore’s winning campaign as “outgunned, no cash, all organization.”

“It was basically grassroots muscle versus corporate cash, and it was a blowout. It was a blowout from the very beginning, Raheem,” he told Breitbart News Daily host Raheem Kassam.

IBM Now Has More Employees in India Than in the U.S.

IBM has shifted its center of gravity halfway around the world to India, making it a high-tech example of the globalization trends that the Trump administration has railed against.

BANGALORE, India —
IBM dominated the early decades of computing with inventions like the mainframe and the floppy disk. Its offices and factories, stretching from upstate New York to Silicon Valley, were hubs of American innovation long before Microsoft or Google came along.

But over the last decade, IBM has shifted its center of gravity halfway around the world to India, making it a high-tech example of the globalization trends that the Trump administration has railed against.

Today, the company employs 130,000 people in India — about one-third of its total work force, and more than in any other country. Their work spans the entire gamut of IBM’s businesses, from managing the computing needs of global giants like AT&T and Shell to performing cutting-edge research in fields like visual search, artificial intelligence and computer vision for self-driving cars. One team is even working with the producers of Sesame Street to teach vocabulary to kindergartners in Atlanta.

Puerto Rican devastation could mean more Florida voters

SAN JUAN — As Puerto Rico slips deeper into what many call a humanitarian crisis following Hurricane Maria, the island is primed for a mass exodus of what could be 1 million people — a sizable number of whom are expected to settle in Florida, the nation's biggest swing state.

That could well prove to be a boon to Democrats in a state which the past four top-of-the-ticket races have been decided by about a percentage point.

"It’s going to mean a lot more people voting Democrat in Florida," Marco Rigau, president of the San Juan municipal assembly, told POLITICO Wednesday, a week ahead of President Donald Trump’s scheduled visit to the commonwealth. “Puerto Ricans don’t like President Trump. When he shows on Tuesday, he’ll say ‘The Puerto Ricans love me’ because people won’t be picketing. But he has no idea.”

New drug beats heart disease by reducing inflammation

About every 40 seconds, an American has a heart attack, and almost 15 percent of those heart attacks are fatal. As the leading cause of death in the U.S., heart disease has been the subject of thousands of studies in the last several decades, and breakthroughs in the last 50 years have been significant.

First, diet, exercise, and smoking cessation were all proven to play an enormous role in heart health, helping physicians guide patients to less risky lifestyle choices.

Then, in the 1980s, the first commercial statin was approved by the FDA, ushering in an era in which medication could be used alongside lifestyle changes to lower cholesterol levels, potentially reducing heart attack risk by over a third for some high risk patients.
