Conservatives have a message for President Trump and the Republican Congress: This isn’t “winning.”
After Donald Trump’s improbable 2016 presidential election victory, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan promised big political results from a new “unified” Republican government with command of both the executive and legislative branches.
But after the recent budget deal, it’s Democrats Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi who are celebrating.
Conservative leaders are fuming.
Laura Ingraham, who memorably endorsed Donald Trump with a powerful speech at the Republican National Convention, is vowing there will be “hell to pay.” And Rush Limbaugh told Vice President Mike Pence during an interview the Republican majority seems pointless.
“If this is what happens, Mr. Vice President, why vote Republican?” asked Limbaugh. “What is the point of voting Republican if the Democrats are gonna continue to win practically 95 percent of their budget objectives, such as in this last budget deal?”

The Coming Debt Reckoning
American workers, as a whole, are facing a disagreeable disorder. Their debt burdens are increasing. Their incomes are stagnating.
There are many reasons why. In truth, it would take several large volumes to chronicle all of them. But when you get down to the ‘lick log’ of it all, the disorder stems from decades of technocratic intervention that have stripped away any semblance of a free functioning, self-correcting economy.
The financial system circa 2017, and the economy that supports it, has been stretched to the breaking point. Shortsighted fiscal and monetary policies have propagated it. The result is a failing financial order that has become near intolerable for all but the gravy supping political class and their cronies.

Trump’s Order Renews Battle Over Offshore Drilling
OCEAN CITY — President Trump late last week signed an executive order reopening vast areas off the mid-Atlantic coast, including Ocean City and Assateague, to offshore oil exploration and drilling, renewing a years-long battle that resulted in the previous administration reversing the plan.
Communities up and down the east coast and throughout the mid-Atlantic region breathed a collective sigh of relief last March when the Obama administration reversed course on a controversial plan to lease three million acres off the mid-Atlantic coast to offshore drilling for oil and natural gas reserves. The federal government’s reversal came after a year of strong opposition to the proposal from local, state and elected officials, environmental advocacy groups and hundreds of coastal communities on the coast whose economies rely on clean oceans, healthy natural resources, tourism and commercial and recreational fishing.
Last Friday, Trump issued an executive order aimed at expanding offshore drilling for oil and gas and directed Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke to begin reviewing a five-year plan to open areas deemed off limits by the Obama administration’s moratorium last March.

Five Arrested in Two Incidents at Dover Downs Casino
Five men were arrested following two incident at Dover Downs Hotel and Casino on Sunday morning. At approximately 1:58AM, officers working inside the casino as an off-duty assignment, were called to a casino entrance to address three men refusing to leave the property after casino employees denied them entry. The three men became disorderly with Dover Downs employees and the Dover Police Officers working at the casino. When Dover officers attempted to take the men into custody, they all resisted. Rashawn Harris (24), shoved a Dover officer and then attempted to strike a Dover Downs Casino security officer. A Dover officer attempted to deploy a taser to subdue Harris, but it was ineffective. When the officer attempted to take Harris into custody, Elijah Scarboro (22), approached the officer from behind and placed him into a “choke hold”, interfering with his ability to breathe. This officer suffered a significant injury to his hand as a result. Other Dover officers were able to remove Scarboro and take him into custody after a struggle. Ronnell Harris (24) was also arrested in the incident.

Library fines too stressful for Harvard students? What's next for our kids
Some might assume Harvard is terminating the fees because the school simply no longer needs the money. After all, the “private” university does receive billions in tax breaks every year.
No, finances had nothing to do with this policy change, which was first noticed by the vigilant folks over at The Harvard Crimson. The sole reason that this (once?) prestigious university is waiving the charge for overdue books is because this practice is just too stressful for students.
That bears repeating: Harvard University students, whom the school hails as the brightest young scholars our nation has to offer, simply cannot and should not have to deal with the stress of overdue book fees.

The College Majors That Don't Pay Off

According to Glassdoor, Criminal Justice and Kinesiology have the lowest starting salary of any U.S. college majors at $40,000. Exercise Science might keep you physically and mentally sharp but it's also at the bottom of the pay grade with the median base salary coming to $40,640.
At the opposite end of the scale, Statista's Niall McCarthy notes that Computer Science ($70,000), Electrical Engineering ($68,438) and Mechanical Engineering ($66,040) are the best majors to choose if you want a lucrative salary after you graduate.

SALISBURY – As part of the services it provides, Coastal Hospice offers volunteer support to patients and their families while the patient is in hospice care and following their passing.
The hospice also sends veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces to make honor visits to patients who are veterans, and also depends on volunteers for the Berlin Thrift Shop.
An informational and training session for anyone wanting to learn about volunteer opportunities at Coastal Hospice will be held on Friday, May 19 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Ocean Pines Library. No commitment to volunteer is required to attend, and the public is invited to the free session.

ATF Investigating After More Than Dozen Firearms Stolen From Del. Shop
BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Federal agents are asking for the public’s help after a suspect steals more than a dozen firearms from a Delaware shop.
The ATF is worried they could end up on Baltimore streets.
Authorities say the suspect broke into baker’s hardware in Millsboro, Delaware and stole 13 handguns and a rifle.
The brazen burglary happened early Friday morning, setting off a manhunt across the region.
“The ATF’s number one priority is to keep illegal firearms from winding up in the hands of criminals so that’s our goal today to make sure that we act as quickly as possible,” says ATF Special Agent David Cheplak.
The ATF and National Shooting Sports Foundation are offering a reward of $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

Texas judge reprimanded for 'tree and a rope' post
A Central Texas judge has been formally reprimanded for a social media post that said a 'tree and a rope' were needed for a man accused of fatally shooting a San Antonio police detective.
James Oakley was given the reprimand by the State Commission on Judicial Conduct, according to The Austin American-Statesman.
Oakley, Burnet County's top administrator, must complete a 30-hour training program for new judges and four hours of racial sensitivity training with a mentor.
Oakley has said his comment was intended to reflect his personal feelings that the killing 'should qualify for the death penalty.'
He said it had nothing to do with race. The suspect in last year's shooting, Otis Tyrone McKane, is black; Oakley is white.
