Hillary In Quicksand: The More She Struggles To Conceal Emails, The Worse It Gets

A CBS Poll conducted at the end of March shows that Americans accept, for now, Hillary Clinton’s explanation of why she kept all her emails on a non-government server. While 62 percent feel it was “inappropriate” to do so, they largely buy her explanation of why she did so. Forty-nine percent accept that it was just for the convenience of not having to use two devices while 38 percent suspect that she wanted to conceal their content.

But Hillary has, in effect, stepped into quicksand. The more she struggles to keep her server and emails private, the more voters will believe she used a separate server to cover them up. Her explanation that she did so out of “convenience” will wear thin with each subpoena battle, court order and instance of Clinton stonewalling.

More broadly, the CBS News poll, taken in the wake of the email scandal (poll dates: March 21-23) show that Hillary’s popularity is underwater nationally, with only 26 percent viewing her favorably and 37 percent holding an unfavorable opinion. This 11-point deficit contrasts with a 5-point net positive rating by CBS during the fall of 2015 when her ratings were 38 to 33.

Particularly important are Hillary’s abysmal ratings among Independents, where she has a 36 percent unfavorable and only a 19 percent favorable.

RESISTANCE TO MILITARIZED COPS BEGINS

Nightscopes, military assault rifles, grenade launchers and 14-ton Mine-Resistance Ambush-Protected vehicles built for taking down terrorist enclaves are becoming part of the toolbox of local police departments under a federal program that ships such equipment out on request and without charge.

The issue came came to national attention when law-enforcement officers in Ferguson, Missouri, outfitted like an invading army, were deployed against violent protesters outraged by the shooting death of black teen Michael Brown by a white police officer.

WND reported there are some 17,000 police departments nationwide equipped with $4.2 billion worth of equipment ranging from Blackhawk helicopters and battering rams to explosives, body armor and night vision.

Pack of stray dogs stand guard at animal lover's funeral

CUERNAVACA MORELOS, Mexico (ABC News) -- A woman who spent her life caring for stray dogs received an unexpected tribute from the animals when she died.

At the funeral for Margarita Suárez in Cuernavaca Morelos, Mexico, there was a pack of stray dogs who came inside the funeral home to stand guard.

Suárez's daughter Patricia Urrutia told ABC News that they were shocked, but delighted by the appearance of the canine celebrants.

Adding to the other-worldliness of the situation was the fact that these stray dogs were not even the same ones that her 71-year-old mother had helped during her lifetime. Suárez lived in Merida Yucatan, but her funeral service was in a town more than 830 miles away, her daughter said.

"They stayed with my mother all day, and then at night they all stayed- but in the morning when we planned to move my mother for cremation all that remained was one, but then when we arrived at the location to cremate my mother they all came again," Urrutia told ABC News.

RNC On Hillary Clinton Cover-Up: ‘Even Nixon Didn’t Erase The Tapes’

It would appear that the emails that Hillary Clinton said she wanted everyone to see were completely wiped from her hard drive…by Hillary Clinton. RNC chairman Reince Priebus is calling shenanigans.

“Even Nixon didn’t destroy the tapes,” said Priebus, referencing recordings the former president kept of conversations he had in the White House between 1971 and 1973. The tapes were made available to Watergate investigators and later made public.

On Friday, Trey Gowdy, the South Carolina Republican leading the House Select Committee’s investigation into Benghazi, announced that Clinton acted “unilaterally” and “wiped clean” her private server.

Gowdy had subpoenaed Clinton’s server but her attorney told the committee that it contained no records. The attorney also said that there are no back-up copies of Clinton’s emails.

Priebus says it’s important for a third party to to review the server. He claims the emails can still be recovered, unless Clinton went to great lengths to delete them.

No murder charges for woman who cut baby out of womb

There are times when I truly believe evil is rampant in our society and we fail to grasp that realization.

Yes, I do support life, and per this recent case in Colorado, there should be no equivocating on that issue.

As reported by the Daily Caller, “A Colorado woman who allegedly cut a baby out of a woman’s womb who was seven months pregnant will not face murder charges because prosecutors can’t prove the baby survived once she was removed. If prosecutors can’t prove the baby, Aurora, “lived as a child outside the body of the mother for some period of time,” they can’t press murder charges in Colorado, Boulder County District Attorney Stanley Garnett told reporters.

Pro-abortion Democrats in Colorado have repeatedly blocked measures to change the law in favor of unborn babies, because of concerns pro-life Republicans would use such laws to restrict abortions in the state. The child’s mother, Michelle Wilkins, 26, went to the alleged killer’s home the afternoon of March 18 to pick up baby clothes in response to a Craigslist ad. The seller, Dynel Lane, who Wilkins knew as “D,” stabbed Wilkins, cut her abdomen open and removed the baby. Wilkins managed to call 9-11 and is in stable, but critical condition. The baby did not survive. Lane’s husband told police he left work early that day to take his wife to a prenatal appointment. When he got home he headed downstairs and his wife came around the corner, covered in blood. She told him she had miscarried and that the baby was upstairs in the bathtub.”

Christian Baker Who Refused To Make ‘Gay Cake’ Gives Passionate Defence Of Faith In Court

A Christian baker who refused a bake a cake celebrating gay marriage has given an impassioned defence of his faith in court.

The Express reports that Daniel McArthur, general manager of Asher’s Bakery in Northern Ireland, told Belfast County Court that to put such a message on the cake would go against his deeply-held religious beliefs.

Giving evidence in the second day of a court hearing, he said: “The reason for the decision was that, as Christians, we could not put that message on a cake. Gay marriage is clearly in contradiction of the Bible.

“Our Christian faith is of utmost importance to us. It is how we run our lives, it is how we live our lives, it is how we bring up our families.

“Before God, this is something we couldn’t make.”

Carozza offers amendment to fix marijuana confusion

When marijuana was decriminalized last year, what has been called a legislative oversight occurred where possession of the paraphernalia used for smoking was a more serious offense than the substance itself.

House Bill 105 is a bid to normalize that portion of the law with the intent of marijuana decriminalization. The bill, which passed the house 90-48 on March 18, would limit the fines for paraphernalia involved to a $100 civil offense if used in conjunction with fewer than 10 grams of marijuana.

Courts would be obligated to consider medical necessity as a mitigating factor in paraphernalia cases, according to the analysis of the bill performed by Kathleen Kennedy of the Office of Policy Analysis.

Betty White Reveals Her Biggest Regret And It Will Break Your Heart

When we think of Betty White, we think of a sweet, funny little old lady who is larger than life. What we sometimes fail to realize is that she is exactly like the rest of us, with fears, hopes, dreams and regrets.

From IJReview:

Betty White recently appeared on an episode of OWN‘s “Where Are They Now?”

Oprah, the host of the show, asked White a simple, yet loaded question:

“At 93, do you have any big regrets?”

Without any hesitation she answered,

“That I spent a whole year, wasted a whole year, that Allen and I could have had together.”

Allen Ludden is Betty White’s late husband. They were married for 18 years, until he lost his life to cancer.

“[I said], no, I wouldn’t marry him. Saying, no, I won’t leave California. No, I won’t move to New York. I wasted a whole year we could have had together. But we made it. We finally did.”

Governor Hogan Signs “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day” Bill Into Law

First Bill Signing Honors 1,014 Marylanders Who Served In Vietnam

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Larry Hogan today joined Senate President Mike Miller, Speaker of the House Mike Busch, Secretary of Veterans Affairs George Owings, and local veterans at a bill signing ceremony for Senate Bill 80 and House Bill 1118, establishing March 30 as “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day.” With unanimous support from the Maryland General Assembly, the new law establishes a commemorative day to honor Maryland veterans who served in Vietnam.

“I couldn't be more proud to have my first bill signing be one that honors Vietnam veterans,” said Governor Hogan. “Making sure all our veterans receive the support and gratitude they deserve will always be a priority of our administration. I want to thank Senator Astle and Delegate Wilson for their leadership, and most importantly thank our veterans for their service. Marylanders enjoy freedom today because of the sacrifices made by our veterans.”
“We are proud to see Governor Hogan sign his first bill, especially one dedicated to our veterans,” said Secretary Owings. “This is a bill of high priority, which is why it passed both houses of the General Assembly so quickly this session.”

During the Vietnam War, 58,000 members of the armed forces, including 1,014 from Maryland, lost their lives. More than 2.7 million Americans served in the Vietnam War and nearly 9 million served during the Vietnam era.

In 1982, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial was dedicated in the District of Columbia to commemorate those members of the armed forces who died or were declared missing-in-action in the Vietnam War. Forty-two years have passed since troops left Vietnam.

With So Much Oil Flowing, U.S. May Be Reaching Storage Limits

Never before in history has the U.S. had so much oil spurting up out of the ground and sloshing into storage tanks around the country. There's so much oil that the U.S. now rivals Saudi Arabia as the world's largest producer.

But there's been some concern that the U.S. will run out of places to put it all. Some analysts speculate that could spark another dramatic crash in oil prices.

Everyone in the oil trading business needs information. One thing they want to know these days is how full are oil storage tanks in places like Cushing, Okla. To find out, ask a professional — someone with eyes on the ground, and in the sky.

Genscape, an oil intelligence service, uses planes, helicopters and satellites to track where and how much oil there is all over the world. The company "does a James Bond approach and flies over the storage field twice a week," says Hillary Stevenson, a manager at the firm.

Pentagon chief may ease military enlistment standards

WASHINGTON (AP) — Defense Secretary Ash Carter is considering easing some military enlistment standards as part of a broader set of initiatives to better attract and keep quality service members and civilians across the Defense Department.

While there are few details yet, Carter is exploring whether to adjust some of the requirements for certain military jobs, such as those involving cyber or high-tech expertise.

The idea, which is largely in line with many civilian sectors, upends the military’s more rigid mindset that puts a high value on standards. And it reignites a persistent debate about how the services approve waivers for recruits who have committed lesser crimes, behaved badly, are older than current regulations allow or have other physical issues that prevent them from joining the military.
