In a YouTube video that has gone viral, magician Rob Anderson walks up to a homeless U.S. Army veteran and rips his sign to pieces. If the video stopped there, it would be a despicable act.
Fortunately, it doesn’t. In fact, it gets much better.
Even as Alan McCracken watched a stranger destroy the sign he uses to collect money, he remained as respectful as you’d expect a military veteran to be.
“Can I keep the magic marker to make another sign?” McCracken asks in the video.

CNN Reporter Returning from Liberia 'Shocked' and 'Horrified' by Lax Screening
On Monday on HLN, CNN medical reporter Elizabeth Cohen said she was aghast at the lax screening procedures at airports for passengers who might have been exposed to Ebola. She said that even after she told agents she was coming back from Liberia and had been covering the Ebola epidemic, the screening agents did not seem to care and could not even tell her what symptoms were Ebola warning signs.
"I expected that they were going to take my temperature, they would ask me lots of questions, but they didn’t," Cohen said on HLN on Monday. "I said, 'I'm a journalist. I’ve come back from Liberia. I was covering Ebola.' And the gentleman who was helping me--the officer--he started to hand my passport back and say, 'welcome home.'"

Philadelphia Teachers Furious They Must Now Contribute Toward Their Own Benefits
To combat a brutal, deficit-plagued balance sheet, Philadelphia’s School Reform Commission has unilaterally canceled the current contract negotiated by the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers, the city’s teachers union.
The city officially canceled the contract on Monday morning, Philadelphia ABC affiliate WPVI reports.
The contract cancellation will not reduce teachers’ salaries one iota. Going forward, however, teachers (and some retirees) will be asked to fund part of their own health coverage. Specifically, starting in December they will be asked to pay between $21 and $200 each month for coverage.

Heroic Georgia police task force, in an effort to keep the citizens of Cartersville safe from a plant, descended onto the house of a man who’d dare grow vegetables in his own yard.
Dwayne Perry was awaken Wednesday night to a helicopter hovering over his house and deputies and a K-9 unit in his front yard.
“They were strapped to the gills,” Perry said. “I was scared actually at first, because I didn’t know what was happening.”
The chopper belonged to the heroic task force created by the Georgia governor’s office which is setup to kidnap and cage those who’d dare try to do with their own bodies as they wish.
The overzealous and highly incompetent task force mistook an okra plant, which has five leaves for the cannabis plant which has seven.
“We’ve not been able to identify it as of yet. But it did have quite a number of characteristics that were similar to a cannabis plant,” said Georgia State Patrol Capt. Kermit Stokes.

The NFL is running one of its own games on the public, and as one of the most subsidized non-profit organizations in American history, the NFL excels at tackling the American taxpayer. It should be of no surprise that with its religious-like following, the NFL receives the same tax-exempt status as a church, exempted under the IRS 501 (c) 6 code from paying federal taxes. The legislation puts the NFL as a non-profit trade association which it has been under since 1942.
But over the past twenty years, 101 new sports facilities have opened in the United States — a 90-percent replacement rate — and lately there has been a rising tendency for renovation costs to skyrocket into the hundreds of millions, which, according to Harvard University urban planning professor Judith Grant Long, the taxpayer foots on average 70 percent of the bill, with often not a penny coming out of the pockets of the team or its owners. The rest of the funding comes from tax-exempt municipal bonds supported under the G4 stadium loan program, which provides loans in return for revenue generated from ticket sales and premium seating.
As is the case with “too big to fail” financial institutions, the NFL is given politically-favored status, and protected by a trench of antitrust exemptions. But unlike the overpaid (read: taxpayer-subsidized) CEOs of Goldman Sachs and Chase Bank, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell earns twice as much as them, thanks to an NFL flush with taxpayer cash. Goodell earned more than $44 million in 2013, and in the past five years he has made over $105 million.

Something So Astonishing Is About to Happen That One of the Spectators Needed to be Treated for Shock
Video published online Sunday shows a group of race car spectators cheat death after a driver lost control of his car sending the vehicle hurtling toward them.
The incident, which took place at the Jolly Rally Valle d’Aosta in northern Italy over the weekend, miraculously left none of the spectators injured — except one onlooker who was treated for shock,according to local newspaper Repubblica.
The driver and co-driver also managed to walk away from the scene unscathed, according to organizer Maurizo Willow.

Somerset County Sheriff's Office Press Release 10-8-14
Raymond John Chaffman Jr. of Westover, arrested 9-13-14 for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving impaired by alcohol, failing to obey a traffic control device, and unsafe lane changes. Chaffman was released on signatures pending court actions. The arrest was the result of a traffic stop conducted by deputies in the area of Ocean Highway, and Saw Mill Lane.
Marion Monroe Gross of Princess Anne, arrested 9-17-14 on a warrant for failing to appear in court. Gross was released after posting bond.
Kyle Richard Somers of Westover, and two juveniles arrested for underage possession of alcohol, and marijuana possession. During a school dance at Washington High School, deputies investigated a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot. During the investigation deputies recovered several cases of beer and multiple baggies of suspected marijuana. Kyle Somers was charged with underage possession of alcohol, and released on citation. The two juveniles were arrested and later released to parents pending juvenile court actions.
Amy Christine Waidner of Eden, arrested 10-1-14 on a warrant for violation of probation. Waider was held on a $10,000 bond, and returned to the Somerset County detention center where she is being held on unrelated charges.
Keondre Devon Perkins of Princess Anne, arrested 10-1-14 on a warrant for violation of probation. Perkins was held on a $50,000 bond.
Deandrea Lacey Cotton Sr. of Salisbury, arrested 10-1-14 on a warrant for violation of probation. Cotton was held without bond.
Kenneth David Grace of Westover, arrested 10-2-14 on a warrant for violation of probation. Grace was held without bond.
Timothy lodge Riddleberger of Salisbury, arrested 10-7-14 on a warrant for violation of probation. Riddleberger was held without bond.

THINK back to your first childhood crush. Maybe it was a classmate or a friend next door. Most likely, through school and into adulthood, your affections continued to focus on others in your approximate age group. But imagine if they did not.
By some estimates, 1 percent of the male population continues, long after puberty, to find themselves attracted to prepubescent children. These people are living with pedophilia, a sexual attraction to prepubescents that often constitutes a mental illness. Unfortunately, our laws are failing them and, consequently, ignoring opportunities to prevent child abuse.
We really shouldn’t be surprised by this attitude: liberals have long shown tolerance for NAMBLA, the North American Man/Boy Love Association. We’ve seen Liberal judges give extremely lenient sentences to child molesters. And Liberals have created an “if it feels good, do it” mentality. And they seem to have this base reaction to turning criminals and potential criminals into victims.
Part of this failure stems from the misconception that pedophilia is the same as child molestation. One can live with pedophilia and not act on it. Sites like Virtuous Pedophiles provide support for pedophiles who do not molest children and believe that sex with children is wrong. It is not that these individuals are “inactive” or “nonpracticing” pedophiles, but rather that pedophilia is a status and not an act. In fact, research shows, about half of all child molesters are not sexually attracted to their victims. (snip)
The Virtuous Pedophiles website is full of testimonials of people who vow never to touch a child and yet live in terror. They must hide their disorder from everyone they know — or risk losing educational and job opportunities, and face the prospect of harassment and even violence. Many feel isolated; some contemplate suicide. The psychologist Jesse Bering, author of “Perv: The Sexual Deviant in All of Us,” writes that people with pedophilia “aren’t living their lives in the closet; they’re eternally hunkered down in a panic room.”

Sheriff's Deputy With Possible Ebola Symptoms Hospitalized In Texas

Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas confirmed that a patient was admitted "after reporting possible exposure to the Ebola virus."
The Frisco, Texas patient has been identified as a Dallas County Sheriff's deputy, CBSDFW.com reports. The patient, Michael Monnig, was transported from a Frisco Care Now facility where he was complaining of "stomach issues," sources told CBSDFW.

After Being Fined for Refusing to Host Gay Weddings, Christian Farm Owners Are Fighting Back With Stunning Decision
The owners of a family farm who are being fined $13,000 for refusing to host a gay wedding ceremony are taking action in an effort to overturn the state’s ruling against them. An attorney for the Alliance Defending Freedom, a conservative legal firm, filed a petition in New York State court Thursday on behalf of Cynthia and Robert Gifford, owners of Liberty Ridge Farm. The petition asks that the “sexual orientation discrimination” ruling given by the New York State Division of Human Rights in August be reexamined.
The legal battle touched off after the Giffords, who are Christians, told Jennifer McCarthy and Melisa Erwin, a lesbian couple from Newark, New Jersey, back in 2012 that they were welcome to hold their reception on the property, but not the actual wedding ceremony, according to Religion News Service.
McCarthy and Erwin, angry over the rejection, took their grievances — and audio from their conversation with the farm owners that was reportedly secretly recorded — to New York’s Division of Human Rights, claiming that they were discriminated against as a result of their sexual orientation. A judge agreed and the farm owners were fined $10,000 plus an additional $3,000 in damages for violating anti-discrimination regulations under New York’s Human Rights Law.
The conservative legal firm’s appeal argues in Gifford v. New York State Division of Human Rights that the state “did not consider Robert and Cynthia’s constitutional freedoms and religious beliefs,” according to a press release.

OPERATION: INSIDE THE CAPITAL BELTWAY SWEEP YIELDS RESULTS
All this week, the Maryland State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division (CVED) is focused on an initiative to remove unsafe vehicles from the highways. The initiative is a partnership with the Prince George's County Police Department.
Drivers are being checked for license violations. Some drivers are being placed out-of-service for serious safety violations like falsified log book entries. Police are also placing trucks out-of-service for defective equipment and unsafe cargo securement.
Since the beginning of Operation: Inside the Capital Beltway Sweep on Monday, October 6, 2014, police have made 275 Commercial Motor Vehicle inspections. Out of those inspections, police cited several violations including:
88 vehicles placed out-of-service
258 citations were written, with fines totaling $52,188
27 seatbelt violation citations
13 overweight vehicles
3 warrant arrests
The initiative ends on Friday, October 10, 2014.

Chico Mollock is a black male, 35 years of age, 5’06” tall, 165 lbs., black hair and brown eyes. (Photo attached)
Troopers have been unable to make contact with Mollock to check on his welfare. Attempts to locate him have been unsuccessful and there is a real concern for his safety and welfare. He was last seen wearing a white shirt with black pants and operating an older model pink Mercedes with an unknown Delaware registration.
