Why Does Negative Info Linger On Your Credit Report For Up To 7 Years?
Credit-related mistakes can follow you link a stink you can’t wash off. Have an account go into collections, miss payments on your student loans, credit cards, mortgage, car loan, and that info can linger on your credit report for up to seven years, even if it’s just a fluke. This is particularly a problem with medical debt, where even someone with otherwise pristine credit is unable to pay a huge hospital bill. So why is seven years?
That was the question that Credit.com’s Gerri Detweiler looked into, only to find that most people in the consumer credit business have no idea why the Fair Credit Reporting Act [PDF] specifies a maximum of seven years. After all, why not five years or ten years — or why there aren’t a range of dates for different transgressions?
One person from Experian, on of the three major credit bureaus, suggested that the source might even be Biblical, pointing out that Chapter 15 of Deuteronomy mandates forgiveness of debts every seven years.
But she eventually found a Congressional staffer who was able to dig up some info on how the seven-year figure worked its way into the federal legislation.

Please Take Extra Care These Next Couple Of Weeks
Hey Folks! For those who are traveling our highways and roadways, please take extra care these next couple of weeks. Farmers are in their fields getting field corn out which means heavy equipment on the roadway. Remember the simple rule to make eye contact with the farmer before passing from behind. Often times, they will wait to find a safe spot to pull over to allow you go on by. Exercise some patience. We see many close calls and a few accidents each year due to inattentive driving or impatience. These folks are in the fields all hours of the day harvesting their crops. As the corn is removed, our friendly deer population will be on the move as well. Cooler temps will bring them out during the evening and overnight hours. We will see a large increase in deer vs vehicle crashes over the next few months. If you are involved in an accident with a deer, please pull off the travel portion of the roadway and call 911 if at all possible. Do not attempt to remove the deer from the roadway. This poses a serious risk to both you and other drivers during evening and overnight hours. Be safe in your travels.

Salisbury Man Arrested On Drug, Weapons Charges
QUEENSTOWN — A Salisbury man was arrested on drug and weapons charges after the Queen Anne's County Drug Task Force served a warrant at 103 Wye Knot Road in Queenstown, where he was staying.
The task force was assisted by members of Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office tactical team and criminal investigations and troopers from Maryland State Police Centreville Barracks. When no one answered, the tactical team made a forced entry, police said.
Police seized drugs, including suspected heroin, suspected cocaine, suspected tramadol and suspected marijuana, a working scale and packaging material along, a 9mm Beretta pistol and ammunition, a .22 rifle, a double-barrel 12-guage shotgun and a JC Higgins 60 shotgun with the serial number obliterated. They also seized $145 cash and evidence of a long term heroin packaging.

Unmanned patrol boats???
The Navy plans to add self-guided unmanned patrol boats to its fleet. The service presented the new technology on the James River in Virginia. Defense officials said the boats can leave warships they're protecting and swarm to attack potential threats. The Navy hopes one day the boats could help stop attacks like the bombing of the USS Cole. Arlington-based Office of Naval Research demonstrated the new technology and called it a success. Officials said the boats could join the Navy's fleet within a year.
Maryland Poll: No To O’Malley 2016 Run
According to a Goucher poll released Tuesday, 65 percent of those surveyed do not believe the governor should run for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, compared with 19 percent who said they think he should. Nine percent said they didn’t know and 7 percent said it depends.
O’Malley — whose second and final term as governor ends in January — has said he is “seriously considering” a potential presidential bid. The Wall Street Journal reported last month that he has told Democratic donors that he would make a run for the nomination even if former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton — widely seen as the prohibitive front-runner should she choose to run — enters the race. He has also recently visited early presidential nominating states like Iowa and New Hampshire to stump for Democratic candidates in the November midterm elections.

According to a post he authored on Live Leak, Michael Burns was issued a ticket by the Broward County Sheriff’s office for allegedly having his license plate obstructed.
Burns, however, contended that he was innocent of the charges and instead said the cop was seeking out revenge for an encounter he had earlier that night with him.
“I routinely record cops when I see them. I saw a group of about 10 on the side of highway 27 in Broward County Florida kicking people out that were hanging out at 1:30 in the morning. While the Border Patrol is doing a good job of handling the surge of illegal immigrant children traveling alone without their parents, the families who are being housed at a special facility continue to have health problems and trouble using the bathroom, the Homeland Security inspector general said.
“Family unit illnesses and unfamiliarity with bathroom facilities continued to result in unsanitary conditions,” Inspector General John Roth wrote in a memo to Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson.

VA Fires Four Senior Executives in Response to Major Scandal
The dismissals are the first since Congress passed a law this summer making it easier for veterans who experience delays to get care outside VA’s nationwide network of hospitals and clinics. The law also made it easier for the agency to fire senior officials suspected of wrongdoing, shortening their appeals process to 28 days.
Among those being fired were a top purchasing official at the Veterans Health Administration, directors of VA hospitals in Pittsburgh and Dublin, Georgia, and a regional hospital director in central Alabama, the VA said.
