CNN POLL: Ryan Beats Biden In VP Debate
Republican candidate Paul Ryan beat Vice President Joe Biden, 48 percent to 44 percent, in the vice presidential debate Thursday night, according to a nationwide poll conducted by CNN right after the debate.

While that number is close — the results are with in the poll's 5-point margin
of error — Ryan gained a more significant lead among debate-watchers on the questions of likeability and clarity.

The Wisconsin Congressman lead Biden by 10 points (51-41 percent) in likeability, and held a 50 percent to 41 percent advantage on the question of which candidate expressed himself better. Significantly, Ryan also led slightly on the question of which candidate is more in touch with the problems of everyday voters.

DOES BARACK OBAMA REALLY WANT TO WIN?
Does the President really want a second term? One would think that if Barack Obama truly wanted to be reelected he would’ve created a record to run on; rather than a record to run from.
After four years of his Presidency two things have come into fruition. The President never really had any intentions of delivering on his campaign promises. And the other is that the hope and change that Barack Obama promised us is not the hope and change that we’ve received.
When President Obama won the Presidency four years ago he did it with a wide and diverse coalition of voters. He won about 43% of the White vote, over 95% of the Black vote, and 78% of the Jewish vote. Those are some very impressive numbers.
Additionally, he overwhelmingly won the youth vote, independents, undecided voters, and the Hispanic vote by large margins. Barack Obama ran as a new kind of Democrat. He portrayed himself as a champion of the middle class and ran on a moderate platform. The American people saw Obama’s hope and change message as a positive new direction and believed him when he said there were no blue states or red states.
Chris Wallace Slams Joe Biden's Debate Demeanor
Fox News anchor Chris Wallace hammered Vice President Joe Biden's excessive smiling and laughing during the debate, saying that he's never seen anyone be so disrespectful in a presidential or vice presidential debate.
And Wallace said that he'd seen most of them — all but the first four in 1960. He called his demeanor "unprecedented."
"I don't believe I've ever seen a debate in which one participant was as openly disrespectful of the other as Biden was to Paul Ryan tonight," Wallace said.
He added: "It was openly contemptuous and disrespectful."

Univ. Official On Leave After Signing Same-Sex Marriage Petition
The chief diversity officer at Gallaudet University has been placed on paid leave after she signed a petition to put a same-sex marriage referendum on the ballot in Maryland.

Gallaudet President T. Alan Hurwitz announced Angela McCaskill's leave in a statement Wednesday. Hurwitz said McCaskill "participated in a legislative initiative that some feel is inappropriate" for someone in her position.
Gallaudet is the nation's leading university for the deaf and hard of hearing.

Missing in Action: Stimulus Sheriff Joe Biden
Remember when President Obama bragged about Joe Biden’s fiscal discipline cred in 2009? “To you, he’s Mr. Vice President, but around the White House, we call him the Sheriff,” Obama warned government employees. “Because if you’re misusing taxpayer money, you’ll have to answer to him.”
Fast-forward to 2012. Call in the search teams. Since being appointed the nation’s stimulus spending cop, Sheriff Joe has taken a permanent donut break. He’s AWOL on oversight. In fact, he’s been bubble-wrapped, boxed and kept completely out of sight. The garrulous gaffe machine hasn’t sat down for a national media interview in five months.
The Democrats’ trillion-dollar “American Recovery and Reinvestment Act,” however, keeps piling up waste, failure, fraud and debt. Who benefited most? Big government cronies.
According to Investor’s Business Daily this week, a new analysis by Ohio State University economics professor Bill Dupor reported that “(m)ore than three-quarters of the jobs created or saved by President Obama’s economic stimulus in the first year were in government.”
Md. Now Reports 13 Meningitis Cases Linked To Shot
Maryland health department officials are now reporting 13 meningitis cases linked to a spinal steroid injection for back pain.
The state Department of Health and Mental Hygiene updated its totals on Thursday. A spokeswoman says the number of cases has risen to 13, with one death.

Darden Restaurants To Slash Worker Hours Due To ObamaCare
Darden Restaurants is a huge company. It owns Olive Garden and Red Lobster amongst many others, so when this company decides it will start cutting hours due to the imminent implementation of ObamaCare, you had better listen. From the Orlando Sentinel:
Darden, the world’s largest casual-dining company and one of the nation’s 30 largest employers, said it offers health insurance to all its approximately 185,000 employees. Many are offered a limited-benefit plan. That type of coverage is being phased out under health-care changes, which will ban annual limits for most plans.
In an experiment apparently aimed at keeping down the cost of health-care reform, Orlando-based Darden Restaurants has stopped offering full-time schedules to many hourly workers in at least a few Olive Gardens, Red Lobsters and LongHorn Steakhouses.
Doctor Prescribing Stimulants To Poor Kids Indiscriminately
Some doctors are prescribing stimulants like Adderall, medicines created to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, indiscriminately to low-income kids who are doing badly in school, a new New York Times article says.
Michael Anderson, the doctor that Alan Schwarz interviewed for the article, says these stimulant medications, help kids stay focused, decrease their acting up in class, and improve their grades. The article says:
"I don’t have a whole lot of choice," said Dr. Anderson, a pediatrician for many poor families in Cherokee County, north of Atlanta. "We’ve decided as a society that it’s too expensive to modify the kid’s environment. So we have to modify the kid."
Dr. Anderson is one of the more outspoken proponents of an idea that is gaining interest among some physicians. They are prescribing stimulants to struggling students in schools starved of extra money — not to treat A.D.H.D., necessarily, but to boost their academic performance.

We've all seen those metal boxes on the side of the road. As you approach, their lights flash and they digitally capture how fast you're driving.
Some may mistake these boxes as speed cameras, but they're not: They're speed boxes.

If you are sick and tired of seeing politicians and others playing the race card, or if you are just disgusted with the grossly dishonest way racial issues in general are portrayed, then you should get a copy of Ann Coulter's new book, Mugged. Its subtitle is: "Racial Demagoguery from the Seventies to Obama."
Few things are as rare as an honest book about race. This is one of the very few, and one of the very best.
Many people will learn for the first time from Ann Coulter's book how a drunken hoodlum and ex-convict, who tried to attack the police, was turned into a victim and a martyr by the media, simply by editing a videotape and broadcasting that edited version, over and over, across the nation.
Meanwhile, the people whose slick editing set off this chain of events received a Pulitzer Prize.
Even the Republican President of the United States, George H.W. Bush, expressed surprise at the jury's verdict, after seeing the edited videotape, while the jury saw the whole unedited videotape. Even Presidents should keep their mouths shut when they don't know all the facts. Perhaps especially Presidents.
