Superintendent Of Wicomico County Schools John Fredericksen Vehicle Gets TWO Speed Camera Tickets

As one commenter stated in an earlier Post, Fredericksen did exactly what they stated. He took it to Court last Thursday, (Bride in hand) and claimed SHE was the one driving the car.
Nevertheless, no matter which one was driving, the Superintendent of Wicomico County Schools, the leader, the guy supposed to set the example is guilty of breaking the law without any show of taking responsibility.
Well, I'll just leave it at that and let the comments take over from here.

Board Considering Consistent Attire Program (CAP) Proposal For 11 Elementary Schools; Parents To Be Surveyed Prior To March 13 Vote
Public comment is welcome at comments@wcboe.org and 410-677-5251, or mailing comment to Public Input, Wicomico Schools, PO Box 1538, Salisbury MD 21802. ParentLink will be used to ask parents in the 11 schools to respond to a single survey question about whether they support consistent attire or do not support it.
At the request of the Board, the updated draft policy statement includes information about consequences for violations of consistent attire, and procedures for approving (or discontinuing) a consistent attire program. According to the draft policy statement, “If at least 70% of the parent surveys are returned and 60% of those parents are in favor of consistent attire, the plan will be submitted to the Board of Education for approval.”
Jason Miller, assistant principal of Prince Street Elementary, and Jennifer Rice, assistant principal of North Salisbury Elementary, have been leading the team that is researching CAP and helping schools survey parents to learn their interest in a CAP to ensure consistent attire. Consistent attire, like uniforms, can build team spirit, improve school climate, encourage appropriate attire, reduce bullying and peer pressure over clothes, decrease discipline issues, and make the morning routine easier for families, they said.
The following elementary schools have indicated interest in CAP: Beaver Run, Charles H. Chipman, Delmar, East Salisbury, Glen Avenue, North Salisbury, Pemberton, Pinehurst, Prince Street, Wicomico Early Learning Center, and West Salisbury Elementary. Wicomico High School also requested details of the CAP policy, though at this time the policy is written only for elementary school students.
At the schools surveyed last fall, response was strongly favorable to the question “Do you think Wicomico County Public Schools should consider consistent attire for next year if your child had choices?” Staff members overwhelmingly favored a CAP for students. Most parents who responded to the CAP survey agreed that CAP would make it easier for students to get ready in the morning, would help stop teasing about clothes, and would save families money on clothes. The majority of students grades 3-5 who responded to a survey said they would like to wear consistent attire next year if they had a choice.
If the Board approved the CAP in March, that would leave plenty of time to inform families that it would take effect for the 2012-13 school year and alert local clothing merchants to the new program.
Board members heard details of the CAP proposal at the Nov. 1 work session. At that time, some Board members favored the proposal and others opposed it, while some Board members said they needed to know more about how CAP would work. Over the past three months, numerous public comments have been received, both for and against CAP.
The Civil War, Part 1: The Places
Last year marked the 150th anniversary of the start of the American Civil War, a milestone commemorated by The Atlantic in a special issue (now available online). Although photography was still in its infancy, war correspondents produced thousands of images, bringing the harsh realities of the frontlines to those on the home front in a new and visceral way. As brother fought brother and the nation's future grew uncertain, the public appetite for information was fed by these images from the trenches, rivers, farms, and cities that became fields of battle. Today's collection is part 1 of 3, covering the places of the Civil War: the battleships, prisons, hospitals, urban centers, and rural pastures where history was made. Tomorrow's installment features some of the people involved in the conflict, and on Friday I'll be sharing some of the amazing three-dimensional stereographs of the war. Keep in mind, as you view these photographs, that they were taken 150 years ago -- providing a glimpse of a United States that was only 85 years old at the time. [48 photos]
Nice Pigs Sir
The squared-away Marine guard snapped to attention, saluted and said: "Nice pigs, sir." The President replied: "These are not pigs.
These are authentic Arkansas Razorback Hogs. I got one for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and I got one for Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi."
The squared-away Marine again snapped to attention, salutes and said, "Excellent trade, sir."
US Fed As Credit Card And Consumer Watch Dog!
Dominant Social Theme: The Fed cares for you!
Free-Market Analysis: A close friend of ours just received a promo advertising a "Marriot Rewards Cards." She was surprised to find, upon reading the "terms and conditions," a note suggesting a visit to a US Federal Reserve website that would educate her about credit cards generally.
She found the involvement of the Federal Reserve puzzling. We did, too. It wasn't an involvement that we were conscious of – though the Fed "consumer help" website claims to have been in business since 2007. (Should we been? Perhaps so, but we can't keep track of everything!) Here's the "About" statement at the Fed site:
Federal Reserve Consumer Help, launched in 2007, is a centralized operation of the Federal Reserve System that assists consumers in filing complaints involving financial institutions. Our mission is to promptly and courteously guide consumers with complaints about financial institutions to the appropriate agency for help (see how we move a complaint through the process). We also respond to consumer questions about federal consumer protection laws and regulations. You can trust us to value the privacy and confidentiality of any information you give us. Cop fires TASER at fleeing Fla. woman
A 20-year-old woman has been left brain dead - after she was Tasered by police and smacked her head on the ground.
Danielle Maudsley had been taken to a Florida Highway Patrol Station after being arrested for a suspected hit-and-run in September. Handcuffed, she ran out of the door.
But as footage from a police cruiser dashboard camera reveals, Trooper Daniel Cole, who this week was cleared of any wrongdoing, fired a Taser's electric probes into her back.

Taliban urge Afghans to kill "invaders" after Koran burnings
(Reuters) - The Taliban urged Afghans on Thursday to target foreign military bases and "beat and kill" Westerners in retaliation for burnings of copies of Islam's holy book, the Koran, at NATO's main base in the country as a third day of protests began.
Thousands of demonstrators rallied across the country on Wednesday, some chanting "Death to America!" and demanding U.S. and foreign military forces leave Afghanistan, Reuters witnesses and local officials said.
"Our brave people must target the military bases of invader forces, their military convoys and their invader bases," read an e-mailed Taliban statement released by spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid.
"They have to kill them (Westerners), beat them and capture them to give them a lesson to never dare desecrate the holy Koran again."
When Risk Is Disconnected From Consequence, The System Itself Is At Risk
The entire global economy's fundamental financial instability can be traced back to one simple rule of Nature: risk cannot be eliminated, it can only be transferred to others or masked. And when it is transferred to others or masked, then the causal feedback between risk and consequence is severed.
Once risk has been disconnected from consequence, then it is impossible to discover the price of capital and risk. Once capital and risk have been mispriced, then the inevitable result is misallocation of capital and a positive feedback loop of self-referential, self-reinforcing risk.
Once the causal negative feedback of the real world--consequence--is no longer available to those taking on risk, then only positive feedback remains. Positive feedback inevitably leads to runaway reactions that self-destruct.
This can be illustrated by imagining yourself in a casino where a consortium will guarantee your losses up to $1 million. We call the disconnect of risk from the resulting gain/loss "moral hazard," and to understand the ramifications of moral hazard, we need only compare the actions of two gamblers in the casino: one is using his own money, the other has none of his own capital at risk, and his losses will be covered up to $1 million.

Obama's Dividend Grab
Mr. Obama is proposing to raise the dividend tax rate to the higher personal income tax rate of 39.6% that will kick in next year. Add in the planned phase-out of deductions and exemptions, and the rate hits 41%. Then add the 3.8% investment tax surcharge in ObamaCare, and the new dividend tax rate in 2013 would be 44.8%—nearly three times today's 15% rate.
Keep in mind that dividends are paid to shareholders only after the corporation pays taxes on its profits. So assuming a maximum 35% corporate tax rate and a 44.8% dividend tax, the total tax on corporate earnings passed through as dividends would be 64.1%.
Who would get hurt? IRS data show that retirees and near-retirees who depend on dividend income would be hit especially hard. Almost three of four dividend payments go to those over the age of 55, and more than half go to those older than 65, according to IRS data.
But all American shareholders would lose. Higher dividend and capital gains taxes make stocks less valuable.

Online Journalists Censored, Attacked: Report
NEW YORK — A global coalition against censorship is needed to protect online journalists and bloggers who are being targeted by repressive governments, a leading advocacy group said Tuesday.
At least 46 journalists died around the world in 2011, the Committee to Protect Journalists said, an increase from the estimate it released in December. Seven journalists were killed in Pakistan, where 29 journalists have been killed in the past five years.
Freelancers, bloggers and citizen journalists like those reporting in the Middle East have few resources to defend themselves against censorship and attacks, the CPJ said. Authoritarian states are buying communications surveillance equipment from Western manufacturers and using it to monitor and target journalists and bloggers, the group said.
