2 Workers Plead Guilty To Murder In Abortion Case
PHILADELPHIA — Two abortion clinic workers pleaded guilty Thursday to third-degree murder in deaths that occurred at a Philadelphia clinic where seven babies were allegedly born alive, then killed with scissors, and a patient died from an overdose of painkillers.
Andrea Moton, 34, admitted her involvement in the stabbing death of one late-term baby that she pulled from a toilet where it had been delivered.

The complaint, filed in the Delaware Chancery Court, charges that MERSCORP and its subsidiary Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems, Inc. have repeatedly violated the state’s Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
“Since at least the 1600s, real property rights have been a cornerstone of our society,” said Attorney General Biden. “MERS has raised serious questions about who owns what in America. A man or woman’s home is not just his or her largest investment, it’s their castle. Rules matter. A homeowner has the obligation to pay the mortgage on time, and lenders must follow the rules if they are seeking to take away someone’s house through foreclosure. The honor system won’t work.”
MERS engaged and continues to engage in deceptive trade practices that sow confusion among homeowners, investors, and other stakeholders in the mortgage finance system, seriously damaging the integrity of the land records that are central to Delaware’s real property system, and leading to improper foreclosure practices. These deceptive trade practices fall into three broad categories:

Alabama To Round Up Sex Offenders On Halloween
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - A southeast Alabama county is trying to round up all its convicted sex offenders on Halloween night to make sure they can't come in contact with children who are out trick-or-treating.
The Russell County Sheriff's Department is requiring about 35 sex offenders who are on probation or parole to come to the county courthouse in Phenix City on Monday night for a mandatory meeting, and they could be charged with a parole violation — which can lead to jail time — if they fail to show up.

This morning at approximately 8:30 am, Members of the Maryland State Apprehension Team located the below listed suspect #1 at the Temple Hills Motel in Salisbury, Maryland and took him into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant. The warrant was obtained by detectives of the Salisbury Police charging the suspect with a number of counts of credit card fraud committed at several locations in Salisbury. The credit cards that were used were taken during the home invasion on Emerson Avenue that occurred on October 24. Also located within the motel room was below listed suspect #2 and a four (4) year old juvenile. The juvenile was found to be listed as missing with the National Center for Missing Children and was released to the Wicomico Co. Child Advocacy Center. Suspect # 2 has also been charged with credit card offenses and was found to be wanted in Milton, Pennsylvania for aggravated assault. Following the arrests the room was searched and resulted in the recovery of a substantial amount of the property taken from the residence on Emerson Avenue. As a result of the investigation, both suspects have been charged with their participation in the home invasion. The investigation is continuing as to the remaining two (2) male suspects and additional charges are forthcoming.

NYC Man Admits To Illegal Organ Brokering

TRENTON, New Jersey - A New York man pleaded guilty Thursday to brokering the sale of black-market organs in what prosecutors said was the first ever federal conviction for illegally selling human kidneys for profit.
Levy Izhak Rosenbaum pleaded guilty in a federal courtroom in Trenton to brokering three illegal kidney transplants for New Jersey-based customers in exchange for payments of $120,000 or more. He also pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to broker an illegal kidney sale.
Slain Baby's Mom Faces Sentencing
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — The mother of a baby girl who was fatally abused by the child's father faces sentencing in Frederick for failing to protect her daughter.
Twenty-one-year-old Jessica Peavy of Hopatcong (heh-PAT'-kong), N.J., is scheduled for sentencing Thursday morning.
Complaint Filed Against Vance Phillips
GEORGETOWN — Georgetown police are investigating an alleged altercation between Sussex County Councilman Vance Phillips and Sussex Sheriff Jeff Christopher.
At 5 p.m. Oct. 26, Christopher filed a complaint against Phillips with Georgetown police. Georgetown Chief William Topping said the two were attending a meeting set up by a third party at Sussex County GOP headquarters in downtown Georgetown to discuss issues between the council and the Sheriff’s Office.

A decades-long effort to link teacher evaluations to state test scores is set to go into effect next year.
Under recent federal requirements, teacher evaluations will include a measure of student progress as shown by state tests.
Earlier this year, Delaware received a $119 million Race to the Top grant, setting in motion the recent scramble by educators to create a measure of student improvement that uses the state test and other student-growth data to show student progress.

The victim reported that she observed the suspect, Terry Wright, take a window air conditioner from her garage. The deputy observed Wright drive by the area with the air conditioner visible in the open trunk of his vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and Wright was placed under arrest.
The deputy transported Wright to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner placed a $15,000 bond on Wright.

Worcester County Crash Reconstruction Unit Investigating Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash Outside Pocomoke Md.
The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Cedar Hall Rd. and Cedar Hall Warf Rd. in Pocomoke Md. A single vehicle, operated by Cristin M. Carlton 20 years old from Pocomoke Md., had crashed into a tree. Ms. Carlton was pronounced dead at the scene by the Medical Examiner.
The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene to begin an investigation.
It was determined that the vehicle, a 1995 Nissan Altima driven by Ms. Carlton was south on Cedar Hall Rd. approaching Cedar Hall Warf Rd. Ms. Carlton failed to negotiate the curve and entered the intersection. She then left the roadway and struck a caution sign. Ms. Carlton continued through a field and struck two trees. Ms. Carlton sustained multiple injuries and subsequently died at the scene from those injuries.
The investigation by the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing to determine if alcohol and or drug use were contributing factors in the crash.
NYC Animal Shelter Under Fire, as Facebook Page Vows to Save 'Bruised Not Broken' Dogs
The 80-pound, fawn-colored pit bull named Mr. Bush was not adoptable, under the assessment of New York City’s animal shelter system. He was said to have severe guarding issues, so he waited at Animal Care and Control’s facility in Upper Manhattan but was not featured on the website’s “adoptable dog” section.
Volunteers loved the dog, however, and were worried that he was soon going to end up on the facility's daily euthanasia list. But Mr. Bush’s future—unlike many of the unadoptable dogs at the city’s shelter—didn’t end with an untimely death.
