Suspect: Damian L. Tull, 33, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 25 October 2011 at 11:18 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office
responded to a reported disturbance inside a residence in the 400 block of Patrick Avenue. Upon arrival,
the deputy learned an altercation had been taking place between Damian Tull and his 18 year old son
when it turned physical. Tull is accused of throwing a telephone at his son that resulted in damage to the
son’s teeth. The investigating deputy saw obvious signs of injury on the victim that corroborated that
account.
The deputy placed Tull under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was
processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, Tull was
detained in the Detention Center in lieu of $10,000.00 bond.

Study Says Generation X Is Balanced And Happy
(CNN) -- A generation once labeled "slackers," detached and melancholic has grown up to find out that reality doesn't bite as much it seemed when they were younger.
To the contrary, most of the 84 million Americans ages 30 to 50 are "active, balanced and happy," according to the authors of "The Generation X Report," a research report from the University of Michigan's Longitudinal Study of American Youth.

New York (CNN) -- A new sexual education curriculum provided by the New York City Department of Education is raising eyebrows among some parents concerned with the program's level of detail and overall message.
One group, The NYC Parents' Choice Coalition, has been particularly outspoken against the new curriculum and held a press conference Monday to voice their concerns."I know that as my grandchildren, I want them to be able to know that abstinence is an option," Sylvia Laughlin, a group member, said at the press conference. "It's something they have a right to choose."

CARROLL CO. STUDENT TO BE CHARGED WITH BRINGING GUN TO SCHOOL
(HAMPSTEAD, MD) – A student is being charged as a juvenile after he voluntarily surrendered a handgun he brought to a Carroll County middle school today to a school staff member he went to for help.
The student is a 15-year-old male from Manchester, Md. He is not being identified because he is being charged as a juvenile. He is in the eighth grade at the North Carroll Middle School, in the 2400-block of Hanover Pike, Hampstead, Md. Charges are pending. Maryland State Police will be consulting with the MD Department of Juvenile Services and the Carroll County State’s Attorney’s regarding charges.
Shortly before 11:00 a.m. today, the student was in the school lunchroom for his lunch period when he approached an assistant principal in the room and said he was struggling with thoughts of suicide. The assistant principal contacted the guidance counselor who met with the student privately.
During the meeting with the guidance counselor, the student handed her a soft cooler bag in which he carries his lunch. Inside the bag, the teacher found a suicide note and a semi-automatic pistol.
The guidance counselor immediately called the school principal, who quickly contacted a Maryland state trooper who was teaching DARE in a nearby classroom. The trooper responded and took the weapon into custody.
Troopers from the Maryland State Police Criminal Investigation Section at the Westminster Barrack responded to conduct an investigation. They are working in cooperation with the Carroll County Public Schools coordinator of school security and the administration at North Carroll Middle School.
The preliminary investigation indicates the student carried the weapon from his home to school this morning in his lunch bag. Students arrive at school at about 7:30 a.m. He stored the bag in his locker until his lunch period today when he carried it into the cafeteria.
Troopers identified the pistol as a .40 caliber semi-automatic. There were rounds in the gun’s magazine, but there was not a round in the chamber of the gun. Troopers are continuing the investigation to determine who the gun belongs to and how the student was able to obtain it.
There is no indication at this time that the student had any desire to harm anyone other than himself. There is no indication anyone else was assisting him or that anyone else even knew of his intent to harm himself.

Newark- The Delaware State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash involving 2 vehicles and one confirmed fatality that occurred on Capitol Trail west of Red Mill Road earlier this morning.
Troopers are advising that Capitol Trail westbound at Polly Drummond Hill Road is closed while the crash is investigated and cleared. Motorists are advised to avoid the area completely and plan alternate routes. Updated information will be provided as information related to the crash investigation becomes available.
Boyds Corner Archaeology Artifacts On Display At Appoquinimink Community Library
Middletown -- Middletown: Artifacts discovered during the archaeological excavations performed prior to roadway improvements along Boyds Corner Road were exhibited at an event this morning at the Appoquinimink Community Library. The event included comments by DelDOT Archaeologist David S. Clarke, and Marcus Henry, General Manager Community Services, New Castle County.
Prior to the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) planned improvements at the intersection of Route 13, the Du Pont Highway, and Route 896 (Boyd's Corner Road) in Odessa, inspection revealed a previously unknown archaeological site. Historical research and previous archaeological testing indicated that the remains of Boyd's Store and House survived underground. The purpose of the excavation was to investigate these remains, and learn more about commerce and rural life in 19th-century Delaware.
The Boyd's Corner Intersection has a long and varied history. In various forms, there has been an intersection here for centuries. John Boyd emigrated from Coleraine County, Ireland, settling in Delaware in 1791 and in 1812 purchased the parcel of property which would eventually bear his name. At this site, until 1932, Boyd and his successors operated a general store, and DelDOT excavations of the site revealed a variety of domestic goods dating throughout that time span. Items on display include, tableware, silverware, cooking utensils, building materials, tools and toys, reveal to us much about daily life during the 19th-century at a commercial crossroad in central Delaware, and how the quality of life has changed over a century of evolution.
"This project has provided DelDOT a great opportunity to partner with the New Castle County Library system, specifically the Appoquinimink Library, and to display the Archaeological findings from the Boyds Corner Project,"explained DelDOT Archaeologist David Clarke. "I'm very excited about this relationship and hope to work with other public libraries all over Delaware to promote and display findings from this and other DelDOT archaeological excavations throughout the state."
The exhibit, located within the Main Reading Room of the library, will remain for public viewing for a full year.

Beginning, Tuesday, November 1, at all four DMV locations, a limited quantity of five-digit license plates will be made available, while supplies last, to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis.
In order to receive a five-digit plate, customers will need to purchase, from the DMV location they are visiting, a black and white stainless steel or porcelain reproduction plate manufactured by the Delaware Historic Plate Company. DMV has partnered with the Delaware Historic Plate Company in an effort to provide increased customer service to Delaware citizens, while also raising revenues with 20 percent of the purchase price of the specialty plates going to the DMV. Plate numbers cannot be reserved in advance.
"We are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity to our customers just in time for the holiday season," said DMV Director Jennifer Cohan. "Five-digit tags make the perfect holiday gift and will become a keepsake for your family to cherish for years to come."

During sessions, experts explore various math- and science-related fields, discussing current research, career options and more. All Science Night presentations are 6-8 p.m. in Henson Science Hall Room 341. The four-part series begins Thursday, October 27, with a session on Engineering and Physics presented by Drs. Mark Muller, Jeffrey Emmert and Gerardo Vazquez. “Physics is the most basic of the natural sciences and is crucial to developing an understanding of how the universe and everything in it works,” Muller said. “Engineers use this understanding to develop technologies that allow us to do more in work and play. As physicists, students will explore and learn about black holes. As engineers, students will design and build black holes.” SU physics alumnus Doug Martin, who currently works for NASA at the Wallops Island Flight Facility, also speaks. State Board Forum on Next State Superintendent of Schools

Open forums have been scheduled by the Maryland State Board of Education for the public to provide input on the leadership characteristics necessary for the next State Superintendent of Schools. Also available is an online survey for those unable to make it to a forum in person. The forums will take place at seven locations around the State from October 27 through November 10. Forums will be held at two different times at each location, 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Forums will be facilitated by representatives of Hazard, Young, Attea, & Associates, the consulting firm the State Board selected in August to help in the search process. The firm also developed the survey, which can be found at www.ecragroup.com/mdss. The deadline for completing the survey is Nov. 18.
The State Superintendent search process is Maryland’s first in 20 years. Dr. Nancy S. Grasmick retired on June 30, having served in the position since 1991. Dr. Bernard Sadusky has been serving as Interim State Superintendent since that time. He is not a candidate for the permanent position.

OCCUPY OAKLAND ATTACK - LIBERALS VS LIBERALS?????
How do those who say the Occupy Movement is nothing but a bunch of liberals looking for government handouts explain what happened in Oakland? You had a liberal Democratic mayor ordering the police to attack and disperse protestors who are supposedly liberals. WTF? I’m sure Hannity and O’Reilly will spout that this is part of the master plan laid out by Saul Alinsky and George Soros.
The fact is that American citizens of all types are involved in the Occupy Movement. The government authorities are run by Republicans and Democrats. The parties are interchangeable because they have both been bought off by Wall Street and corporate America. The authorities will use their jackboots to remain in control. The citizens will be told to act like passive sheep or they will slaughter us.
I wouldn’t classify Karl Denninger as a liberal. His article below addresses the criminals in this story. The jackbooted thugs that beat and shoot peaceful protestors are the criminals.

Suspect: Damian L. Tull, 33, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 25 October 2011 at 11:18 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office
responded to a reported disturbance inside a residence in the 400 block of Patrick Avenue. Upon arrival,
the deputy learned an altercation had been taking place between Damian Tull and his 18 year old son
when it turned physical. Tull is accused of throwing a telephone at his son that resulted in damage to the
son’s teeth. The investigating deputy saw obvious signs of injury on the victim that corroborated that
account.
The deputy placed Tull under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was
processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, Tull was
detained in the Detention Center in lieu of $10,000.00 bond.

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – A 3-year-old floated to safety after an argument between her parents led to the family's car plunging into a South Florida lake Tuesday, The Sun Sentinel reports.
Police believe Sariyah Michel's diaper was so buoyant, it propelled her out of the submerged car.

Here is the reality. We spend $3.8 trillion per year in the categories listed on the chart. If the GOP candidates are going to increase the first category and not touch the second category, then the third category will keep growing. This means that $2.4 trillion out of $3.8 trillion is untouchable. Meanwhile, the Republicans will be reducing revenue by cutting taxes.
We currently bring in about $2.4 trillion in tax revenue. This means EVERYTHING besides the top three categories would need to be ELIMINATED in order to balance the budget.
Obama is no better. He has increased War spending every year in office to levels well above Bush. He will never touch Social Security or Medicare. In fact, his Obamacare will add billions more in spending. Ron Paul is the only candidate willing to put forth a plan to cut everything. It is the only chance we would have as a country, but Americans will never vote to take their fee shit away.

Tear Down That Wall Of Central Planning's Prison State
It appears that ex-Soviet ruler Mikhail Gorbachev has come out of the woodwork again. This time Gorby treats us with more "global governance" nonsense, calling for more centralization of power and more central planning. But more central planning means more imprisonment of the people by the State. Contrary to Gorbachev’s fantasy of world communism/fascism, what we need is more freedom!
When Ronald Reagan called out, "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" the wall might as well have referred to the U.S. government’s imprisonment of the American people via the police state, regulatory intrusions and government’s always-increasing confiscation of private wealth. But the reality is that we need to go the other way, away from central planning and toward decentralization.
On the talk shows and in the news, and on YouTube videos and in public forums, there is an epidemic in America of denial and fantasy. Each election cycle, we have statist candidate A vs. statist candidate B, especially with the national elections, and there do not seem to be any candidates or voters who are willing to face the music and deal with the reality of the inherent destructiveness of central planning.
