Wilson Apologizes, But Still Thinks Obama Wasn't Honest
"This evening I let my emotions get the best of me when listening to the President's remarks regarding the coverage of illegal immigrants in the healthcare bill," the South Carolina Republican said in a statement issued shortly after the president's speech to a joint session of Congress ended. "While I disagree with the President's statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the president for this lack of civility."
Reaction to Wilson's outburst came fast and furious. Republicans distanced themselves from the breach of protocol — Sen. John McCain of Arizona decried it as "totally disrespectful" adding, "there is no place for it in that setting — and House Democrats actually called for Wilson to be censored.
Efforts by Democrats to pillory Wilson for doing the same thing Town Hall protesters did around the nation during the August recess — speaking the truth as they see it to those in power — may backfire. Already, the nation's attention is turning to the actual issue Wilson raised — an accusation that billions of taxpayers' dollars will go to pay for health insurance coverage for undocumented workers, if the current reform proposals go through.
Supporters of so-called "Obamacare" point out that the measures being drafted all specifically forbid illegal aliens from gaining coverage. But conservatives say those stipulations are useless without the normal enforcement procedures which Democrats omitted.
"Obama is correct," Steven Camarota, director of research for the Center for Immigration Studies, tells Newsmax. "The legislation states illegals won't get the affordability credits [to pay for their healthcare]. But Wilson's comment is correct in that the normal enforcement mechanism was excluded from the bill. I think that's the fundamental question."

Supreme Court To Hear Obama Birthplace Suit

If the our system works as planned and the law prevails, this fraud and liar could be removed from office.
Snopes mentioned this in a short statement, but did not elaborate.
(Now we know why he is so eager to get Sottomayer appointed!)
BOMBSHELL…Supreme Court now has Obama Citizenship case
WASHINGTON D.C. - In a move certain to fuel the debate over Obama's qualifications for the presidency, the group Americans for Freedom of Information has Released copies of President Obama's college transcripts from Occidental College Released today, the transcript indicates that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro, received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia as an undergraduate at the school.
The transcript was released by Occidental College in
Compliance with a court order in a suit brought by the group in the Superior Court of California. The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was awarded a fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program.
To qualify, for the scholarship, a student must claim foreign citizenship. This document would seem to provide the smoking gun that many of Obama's detractors have been seeking.
Along with the evidence that he was first born in Kenya and there is no record of him ever applying for US citizenship, this is looking pretty grim. The news has created a firestorm at the White House as the release casts increasing doubt about Obama's legitimacy and qualification to serve as president.
When reached for comment in London, where he has been in meetings with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Obama smiled but refused comment on the issue.
Britain 's Daily Mail also carried the story in a front-page article titled, Obama Eligibility Questioned leading some to speculate that the story may overshadow economic issues on Obama's first official visit to the U.K.
In a related matter, under growing pressure from several groups, Justice Antonin Scalia announced that the Supreme Court agreed on Tuesday to hear arguments concerning Obama's legal eligibility to serve as President in a case brought by Leo Donofrio of New Jersey.
This lawsuit claims Obama's dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president. Donofrio's case is just one of 18 suits brought by citizens demanding proof of Obama' s citizenship or qualification to serve as president.
Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation has released the results of their investigation of Obama's campaign spending. This study estimates that Obama has spent upwards of $950,000 in campaign funds in the past year with eleven law firms in 12 states for legal resources to block disclosure of any of his personal records. Mr. Kreep indicated that the investigation is still ongoing but that the final report will be provided to the U.S. Attorney General, Eric Holder. Mr. Holder has refused to comment on the matter.

'WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN'

The proud warriors of Baker Company wanted to do
Something to pay tribute
To our fallen comrades So since we are part of the only
Marine Infantry Battalion left in Iraq the one way that we could
Think of doing that is By taking a picture of
Baker Company saying the way we feel.
It would be awesome if you could find a way to share
This with our fellow countrymen.
I was wondering if there was any way to
Get this into your

'WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN'
And are proud to serve our country.

Thanks Mayor Ireton & Chiefy Webster For Standing Up For Prisoners

While many Sheriff's Deputies will take an average pay cut of around $80.00 per paycheck, GUESS WHO'S GETTING RAISES! If you guessed prisoners, you'd be 100% correct.
That's right. While Mayor Ireton and Chiefy Webster were in Annapolis fighting for prisoners rights yesterday, it was announced that ALL prisoners in the state of Maryland would get a 10% PAY INCREASE.
People are losing their jobs left and right, taking pay cuts, barely making ends meet, this dipsh!t Governor and all the wet pants liberals have secured a 10% pay increase for the people who caused the most trouble and were probably the biggest expense to the taxpayers all around.
So why haven't you seen this information in the MSM. Because Blogs are taking over and the MSM wants to feed you the soft, pampered and fluffy news, just the way the liberals like it. Then when they do feed you so called investigative news, (like the Debbie Campbell/video tape story) they simply twist the info and lie in order to make it look like they're actually working.
In the mean time, contact your Mayors, County Executives, Delegates, Senators and Congressmen and let them know just how much you appreciate their service to the Law Abiding Taxpayers who pay the taxes for these pay increases.
So stop the presses Daily Times. Make some phone calls and you'll find I'm exactly right and see if you have the time to present this story, since people do pay money for your daily newspaper. Consider this one a freebie from Salisbury News. Then again, it is 7:00, (or close to it) and we may have to wait another two or three days before you publish something. That's OK, we're used to it.
So how many County Employees, Police Officers, Firefighters are OK with this???????
More Budget Cuts Coming Soon?

Two weeks after he won approval for more than $700 million in cuts to close a widening budget gap, Gov. Martin O'Malley told reporters yesterday that "it wouldn't surprise me if we had another one hundred, two hundred million to cut." O'Malley said the estimate's based on discussion with his budget staff and reading of the economy. He's set to get an update on state revenue projections next week. The Post's John Wagner writes that the governor said he had no advance knowledge of what the panel will report.
Rep. Kratovil Meets With Local Republican Club In Severna Park

Discusses bi-partisan approach to health care reform and other national priorities.
Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Kratovil accepted the invitation of the Elephant Club of Severna Park, MD this morning and spoke at their weekly “Bagels and Donuts,” club meeting. The Congressman gave the group a brief Washington Update, took questions from club members, and talked about how Americans can work together despite party affiliation to make progress on many of our national priorities.
“It really takes an open mind for people who may not always agree with each other to sit down and talk about our common goals and how we can move this country forward in a bi-partisan manner,” Rep. Kratovil told the club. “It’s in the spirit of this diverse district that you have done so and your invitation represents to me the independence citizens of our district have always exhibited.”
The meeting focused mainly on the current health care reform legislation before Congress, and Congressman Kratovil reiterated his belief that the most important aspects of reform are bringing stability and security to Americans who have insurance today, and affordable coverage to those who don’t. “It is now a matter of crafting a bill that accomplishes these two critical reforms,” Kratovil said.
Kratovil told the club that “to do this, any bill must reduce the cost curve, it must protect the small business owners at the foundation of our economy, it must have parity for rural communities that are facing unique needs, and it must ensure that anyone or family who currently has insurance will be able to keep that insurance if they so choose. I will not vote for legislation that I do not believe accomplishes these goals.”
Kratovil and club members also discussed the need to reduce deficit spending for future generations, increasing reimbursement rates for doctors in Maryland, and the current state of the economy among other things.
The Elephant Club is a local party organization chartered by the Republican State Central Committee of Arundel County.
Kratovil closed by telling club members “I truly believe that when we work together we put ourselves in the best position to make change for the better. That is why I believe that no one party in this country has a monopoly on good ideas. As Congress gets back to work after the August recess, I’m hopeful that leaders on both sides of the aisle will seize this opportunity to re-engage in a meaningful and substantive debate over the challenges facing our nation.”
Kratovil, a member of the Blue Dog Coalition of fiscally conservative Democrats, has the third most independent voting record in the Democratic Caucus, according to Congressional Quarterly’s presidential support scorecard.
CALLING ALL PRAYER WARRIORS!

Monday 9/7 Transplant Day +17: Happy Labor Day and Happy Birthday to Uncle Johnny. Brooke was very excited to decorate our room to surprise Uncle Johnny this morning. She has pretty much missed all of her friend’s and family’s birthdays this year (which has been tough because she loves a party) so it was nice for her to be able to celebrate something.
Tuesday 9/8 Transplant Day +18: Brooke had a very restless night sleep. Had OT with Erin this morning but did not cooperate much. She complained of stomach pain pretty much all day. Hasn’t had much energy. Not eating anything but drank her minimum fluid goal for the day of 6oz. This is her third straight day of not needing a platelet transfusion which is a good sign. I hope and pray that she starts feeling better soon. She has her heart set on going home Thursday but I’m really starting wonder if she is ready. Its scary enough taking her home but so much more stressful when she is not feeling herself.
Wednesday 9/10 Transplant Day +19: Brooke was still complaining of stomach pain all morning (they think that it is from not eating for so long). Had PT this morning but was not cooperating at all (may get PT at home). She seemed to be feeling better by the afternoon (her mood was much better anyway). She ate some ice cream & a small amount of yogurt today but was a little shy of her fluid goal.
Tomorrow is a big day for all of us. Aside from the obvious of getting to go home, Brooke will be having an MIBG Scan in the morning. This scan detects the presence of Neuroblastoma in the body. As I sat and watched the monitor for her 1st MIBG scan back in January I remember the horror as I saw her entire skeleton light up like a Christmas tree indicating that the cancer had invaded every bone in her body. It was completely devastating. How could my baby’s body have this much cancer in it and how could we not know…mind numbing. Her next MIBG was after the 2nd round of chemo to see if she was responding to treatment. Watching that scan was just as terrifying as once again her whole skeleton lit up (but our doctor comforted us by pointing out that yes it was still everywhere, but not as intense as it was originally). Her last MIBG was after round 5 (in May) and as I watched and saw that there were still areas lighting up, my fear started coming back until I talked to our doc afterwards and he told me that there are areas that will light up that have nothing to do with NB. It turned out that all the areas I was concerned about wound up being the things that always light up, however there were still 3 areas of concern. NB showed up, very minimally but none the less still there, in her skull and the tops of each femur. The doctors were very pleased with the results but as parents we were very concerned (we had hoped and prayed that she would be going into her transplants with no evidence of disease like so many of the other kids that we have met here) but at least she would still be getting her 6th round of chemo plus the 2 high dose rounds during transplant so we have tried to stay optimistic. It is essential that this scan comes back clear of neuroblastoma (at least in our minds). Yes, she still has radiation to go though but I am scared that if after all this chemo it still remains we might never here the words No Evidence of Disease.
Please, I beg of everyone reading this, to please pray like you have never prayed before that these scans come back totally clean (no question about it). She will still need to get another bone marrow biopsy (which also showed prior to transplant that there looked to be some NB activity in the marrow). She will be going down for her scan at 9:00am(Thurs morning) and it should take about 45 minutes. We need every prayer warrior out there on this one!
Thank you so much and blessings to all,
Amy

Rule Of Law (Part 2)
Publisher's Note: This essay is the second of a two-part seminal treatise on Constitutional Rule of Law in advance of Constitution Day, 17 September, the 222nd anniversary of our national Constitution. (Read part one, Rule of Law.) The combined essay is published as the forward to our new Constitution booklets. On Constitution Day, The Patriot will announce a major education initiative promoting the Right construction of our Constitution and Rule of Law.
A "Wall of Separation"?
George Washington wrote in his Farewell Address of 1796, "Let it simply be asked where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation deserts the oaths, which are the instruments of investigation in the Courts of Justice? And let us with caution indulge the opposition, that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that National morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle."
Our Founders affirmed that the natural rights enumerated in our Declaration of Independence and, by extension, as codified in its subordinate guidance, our Constitution, are those endowed by our Creator.
Thomas Jefferson proclaimed, "The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time. ... Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with his wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep for ever."
Alexander Hamilton insisted, "The sacred rights of mankind are not to be rummaged for, among old parchments, or musty records. They are written, as with a sun beam, in the whole volume of human nature, by the hand of the divinity itself; and can never be erased or obscured by mortal power."
"Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness..." These are natural rights -- gifts from God, not government.
Moreover, it was with firm regard to this fact that our Constitution was written and ratified "in order secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity." As such, it established a constitutional republic ruled by laws based on natural rights, not rights allocated by governments or those occupying seats of power.
John Quincy Adams wrote, "Our political way of life is by the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God, and of course presupposes the existence of God, the moral ruler of the universe, and a rule of right and wrong, of just and unjust, binding upon man, preceding all institutions of human society and government."
Notably, the conviction that our rights are innately bestowed by "the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God," is enumerated in the preambles of every state constitution of our Union.
But, for many decades, those who advocate a "living constitution" have used the "despotic branch" to remove faith from every public quarter, ironically and erroneously citing the "Wall of Separation" metaphor -- words that Jefferson wrote to denote the barrier between federal and state governments, not to erect a prohibition against faith expression in any and all public venues.
The intended consequence of this artificial barrier between church and state is to remove the unmistakable influence of our Creator from all public forums, particularly government education institutions, and thus, over time, to disabuse belief in a sovereign God and the notion of natural rights. This erosion of knowledge about the origin of our rights, the very foundation of our country and basis of our Constitution, has dire implications for the future of liberty.
A republic ... if you can keep it...

Campbell Responds to Political Attacks
Salisbury City Councilwoman Debbie Campbell held a press conference this afternoon to respond to the baseless, manufactured, charges lobbed at her by political detractors:
“In an attempt to put some of this foolishness to rest, I am here today to answer questions regarding this matter. I have decided to stand up for myself and refute the false accusations and half-truths that the Daily Times feels are worthy of multiple front page stories. I am confident that my answers will allow the public to gain a better understanding of the lengths to which some groups will go to avoid honest, civil debate AND to prevent meaningful change for Salisbury and her citizens.”
Campbell responded to false allegations that she was in possession of a surveillance by categorically stating:
“I do not have this surveillance tape in my possession. I have never seen this tape. I do not even know that such a tape exists.”
Campbell attributed these malicious and fabricated attacks to a desire to intimidate her and put a stop to positive change for Salisbury and her citizens:
“Are we getting close enough to substantive, positive change in Salisbury that those who oppose reform have nothing left but to resort to these types of attacks?”
Today, Laura D'Alessandro of the Daily Times contacted Campbell and accused her of lying and criminal conduct. Campbell responded to the allegation:
“According to her (D'Alessandro), Mark Tyler of the Salisbury Police Department claims to have handed over the tape to me. Let me be perfectly clear about this. Mark Tyler never gave me any tape at any time whatsoever. I have not seen the April 3, 2009 memo in which Capt. Tyler allegedly makes the statement, though my attorney has requested a copy from the reporter. Because I have not seen the memo, or heard Capt. Tyler make such a statement, I can only hope that the reporter is mistaken, or has misinterpreted the memo, because it would have very, very serious implications if a member of the police department misrepresented the truth concerning an investigation or official police matter.”
Campbell, serving her second term as a Salisbury council member and representing District 2, was re-elected by a 2 – to – 1 margin this past spring. During her tenure on council she has been a relentless advocate for her constituents, particularly in the areas of crime, neighborhood blight, lower taxes, and financial accountability.

Wicomico County Sheriff's Office Press Release

Incident: Pursuit
Date of Incident: 7 September 2009
Location: Wicomico County, MD
Suspect: Timothy Ketterman Pusey, 22, Snow Hill, MD
Narrative: On 7 September 2009 at 10:48 PM, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office received information that a Berlin Police officer was attempting to stop a vehicle that was heading at a high rate of speed towards Wicomico County. The vehicle managed to elude the Berlin office but was spotted a short time later by WCSO personnel on Mt. Hermon Road in Salisbury. The WCSO deputy ascertained that the vehicle was the same one that had eluded Berlin Police and also attempted to stop it. Instead of stopping the vehicle operator accelerated the vehicle and headed towards Salisbury. WCSO personnel followed in an attempt to get the vehicle to stop. Instead, the operator exceeded all speed limits and disregarded stop signs and traffic signals. Twice, the operator of the fleeing vehicle tried to ram a law enforcement vehicle, one almost head on, but the law enforcement personnel managed to avoid a collision both times. The fleeing vehicle eventually made it to the Rt. 13 bypass where it headed south from Ocean Gateway. Upon reaching the Snow Hill Road exit, the fleeing vehicle turned around, headed north and exited on Ocean Gateway. At one point during this incident, the vehicle turned off its headlights in an attempt to avoid being seen by pursuing deputies.
The pursuit was terminated after the fleeing vehicle ran over a set of stop sticks deployed in the intersection of Ocean Gateway and Hobbs Road, which caused the vehicle’s tires to deflate. The driver, identified as Timothy Ketterman Pusey was then taken into custody after a brief struggle, wherein he refused to submit to the arrest.
At the conclusion of the incident, it was determined that Timothy Ketterman Pusey’s driver’s license was suspended and he made statements declaring that is what made him flee from the law enforcement personnel.
Timothy Ketterman Pusey was transported to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, he was detained in the Detention Center on $50,000.00 bond.

HAS COMEGYS BECOME AN OBAMANISTA?

Do you recall the mantra “share the wealth” from the recent presidential campaign? It’s a favorite phrase of Marxists and a core concept of Barrack Obama. But, would you believe Gary Comegys, too? Here’s why I’m not sure.
The City of Salisbury was recently requested by the firm owned by the family of the president of the Wicomico County Council to refund $2,328.00 that it paid to satisfy liens by the City to cure code violations at 304 Delaware Avenue. The lien fees were paid in order to transfer the property to Cannon, LLLC, which bought it at a tax sale for $7,450.00
The reasons stated in John Cannon’s letter making the request, which the City Council denied at a special meeting this week by unanimous vote, are discussed on this blog at: http://sbynews.blogspot.com/2009/09/wicomico-council-president-wants-refund.html
When the request was discussed at an earlier work session of the City Council, Mr. Comegys suggested that it should be rejected because the Cannons are wealthy. No, I’m not making this up.
The requested refund should be granted or not because of the facts and circumstances pertaining to the property, not because the Cannons are among the wealthiest families in Wicomico County. All persons, rich or poor, are entitled to equal protection under law. And I’m not sure that Comegys really meant what he suggested in light of his longstanding support of landlords and developers and their support of him in the recent City election.
Of course, some leopards can lose their spots. He may want to distance himself from those who have been responsible for his political career. Perhaps he is preparing for another election campaign – maybe for a County Council seat next year. But for now, unless he says otherwise, we should take his position at face value: wealth should be shared among everyone.
To quote E. J. Pipken, “who knew?”
The Town Of Delmar Breaks The Bank!
In a move that will go on the record books for the state of Maryland, the Town of Delmar did the most fiscally responsible move ever witnessed in the state of Maryland.
Bursting at the seams, the Town of Delmar Offices are shared by Delmar, Maryland and Delmar, Delaware. Converting bathrooms to storage units, closets turned into Offices, the tiny building they are currently in has become far too small.
When opportunity came knocking and the Bank of Delmar mentioned they were building a new Bank on Rt. 13, Delmar jumped at the opportunity to purchase the old Bank as well as all the land that went with it. Downtown Parking is a major issue right now and with this purchase they can add quite a bit of additional parking. The old Town Hall and the new Town Hall are all within the same lot and now they'll own both.
So here's the catch. When it came time to vote last night on the actual purchase, they were torn about how to go about it. The purchase of the old Bank and all of the property along with it was only $375,000.00. In order to make the facility ADA compliant, they'd need an additional $125,000.00 and the Bank of Delmar stated they'd be happy to float them a loan for the total, $500,000.00 over 10 years at 5% interest, amortised over 30 years.
Pretty sweet deal, eh. Well guess what, it gets better. Since the Town of Delmar, Maryland is actually making the purchase, the Town of Delmar, DE. committed to paying 40% of everything. They'd pay 40% of the loan and improvements, including interest as well as 40% of the upkeep of the property. Perfectly fair in my book.
So when the Town of Delmar, Maryland realized they had $2,500,000.00 in the Bank, rather than going to the State or the Bank of Delmar to BORROW MONEY, they actually chose to PAY CASH for their share of the building costs, leaving them in an equity PLUS situation, rather than leaving the Taxpayers on the hook for the next 10 years!
Commissioner Carl Anderton said, "It feels really good to know I was able to serve my community and I feel really good about the decision we made tonight." All Commissioners present last night unanimously voted to pay CASH for this purchase and my hat is absolutely 100% tipped to these fine men and women who actually set a brand new EXAMPLE for the rest of the Municipalities throughout the state of Maryland.
It was a fortunate position to be in, having additional funds in the Bank to pay for such a purchase and not burden the taxpayers any more then they have already been burdened in the recent past. While they look at their neighbor, Salisbury, Maryland, the threat of jobs being lost because they borrowed far too much money and didn't plan for a recession, let alone a depression, Delmar, Maryland Employees will be perfectly secure and you have to appreciate these Commissioners for acting so fiscally responsible.
As for the now "old City Hall" there's a possibility it may become the next Police Department. The current Police Department was the old Public Works building and quite frankly, it's a mess. There's no commitment from the DPD to relocate there but I for one would have to say it would be a major step in the right direction if they did in fact choose to make the move. Again, it is paid for and would also be fiscally responsible.
So while NO other Press was around last night, you'll only read about this unbelievable move right here on Salisbury News. To the residents of Delmar, Maryland. If I were you, I'd call City Hall today and THANK your representatives and tell them how PROUD you are of these fine men and women. They have not only balanced the books in your Town, they have purchased a new facility in a growing Town and did so without having to borrow a penny. Well, not on the Maryland side, anyway. Congratulations Delmar!
