I was thinking about this. Social Security is a fund that is paid into by people who should be referred to as investors. Right? Our hard earned money goes into this fund and we get it back when we reach "retirement age" - which is determined by the govt. In order for this to work properly, more people have to contribute to this fund every year or it will go broke. In order for Social Security to continue more investors must contribute more money every year. Sound familiar? It should! Charles Ponzi pulled this type of scheme off after coming here from Italy in 1903. That's right. Social Security is nothing more than a Ponzi scheme perpetrated by our own government and we're the victims. Think about it.
A Friend Writes In Amd Says Although Wikipedia is not the most accurate source of info, I find no harm in using it to define a Ponzi Scheme since it's not subject to opinion. Wiki says; "A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investment operation that pays returns to investors from their own money or money paid by subsequent investors rather than from any actual profit earned. The perpetuation of the returns that a Ponzi scheme advertises and pays requires an ever-increasing flow of money from investors in order to keep the scheme going."
Just like Bermie Madoff's Ponzi scheme, Social Security will collapse. One big difference is that we can't get out of it. We're being forced by our government to contribute to a Ponzi Scheme almost exacly like the one the Madoff was just convicted of perpetrating.

A Cowboy From Texas
A cowboy, who moved to Wyoming from Texas , walks into a bar and orders three mugs of Bud. He sits in the back of the room, drinking a sip out of ea ch one in turn. When he finishes them, he comes back to the bar and orders three more.
The bartender approaches and tells the cowboy, 'You know, a mug goes flat after I draw it. It would taste better if you bought one at a time.'
The cowboy replies, 'Well, you see, I have two brothers. One is in Arizona , the other is in Colorado . When we all left our home in Texas , we promised that we'd drink this way to remember the days when we drank together. So I'm drinking one beer for each of my brothers and one for myself...'
The bartender admits that this is a nice custom, and leaves it there.
The cowboy becomes a regular in the bar, and always drinks the same way. He orders three mugs and drinks them in turn.
One day, he comes in and only orders two mugs. All the regulars take notice and fall silent. When he comes back to the bar for the second round, the bartender says, 'I don't want to intrude on your grief, but I wanted to offer my condolences on your loss.'
The cowboy looks quite puzzled for a moment, then a light dawns in his eyes and he laughs.
'Oh, no, everybody's just fine, ' he explains, 'It's just that my wife and I joined the Baptist Church and I had to quit drinking.'
'Hasn't affected my brothers though.

What Are You Doing For The 4th Of July?
Are you one of the many people that stop in parking lots and purchase Fireworks for the 4th of July? I see quite a bit of Fireworks in Sam's Club too.
Nevertheless, with the Shorebirds not shooting off Fireworks this year, what will you do. Last week we posted information about places to go. Will you get together with your neighbors and shoot off your own Fireworks? Or will you simply head out to one of the many locations offering a Show?
I have not seen any Press Releases about what the law states in Maryland/Delaware and or any information from our local Fire Departments referencing what we can or can't do from home. Perhaps someone can chime in on what we can and can't do on our own.
YOU Make The Call

While Chief Webster has been away for the past couple of weeks for a Honeymoon and Vacation, one would tend to think he was gone for the past two weeks, right? WRONG! It turns out it has been reported that Chief Webster has been back from his Honeymoon for about a week now, yet he has not come into work to help with the investigation of the recent murder at the Shell Gas Station on Rt. 13 in Salisbury.
I'll simply put it to you this way Folks. IF the same situation had happened in the County, (I know Salisbury is in the County, you know what I mean) and Sheriff Lewis had been back home for a week, what do YOU think would happen.
Chief Webster has simply become far too comfortable living in Somerset County and ignoring OUR lifestyle and safe keeping. Help Is On The Way, NOT!

Fundraiser For Keith Brooks At Chef Fred's
H.O.P.E. (Helping Others Produce Events pulled off another successful fundraiser, this time for Keith Brooks. The event was held at Chef Fred's with multiple Bands, free food and discounted drink prices on Sunday.
There was a silent auction as well as a live auction to help raise money for Keith. We stated at the beginning of the year that this year was going to be about giving back and wouldn't you know it, people supporting numerous causes have been giving from their hearts in order to help those less fortunate and we're pleased to bring such events to your attention.
Eric Morris, (founder of H.O.P.E.) couldn't be there yesterday because he got into an argument with a skateboard and lost, BIG! The poor guy broke his ankle and while he said it was OK for me to show a picture of it, I'll save you the horror of what it looked like immediately after he broke it.
So to Keith and Eric, get well my friends and let's have a VICTORY Party after all this is said and done with. Thanks for coming everyone and thanks for your support. H.O.P.E. is doing some wonderful things for some wonderful people.
Oh, I can't forget to thank our friend Fred! He opened his doors on a Sunday and opened his entire facility for this event from 2:00 PM till...... You're a good man Fred and I'll not forget this and hopefully no one else will wither. By the way Folks, for the absolute BEST All-You-Can-Eat Lunch, Chef Fred's is second to NONE!
To ALL of the Bands, thank you!
It's Amazing How Things Work

I put up a couple of articles showing dead animals at the Salisbury Zoo and wouldn't you know it, the Daily Times follows up with an article typical of their political agenda, allow me to explain how and why.
In today's article, the Daily Times brings up certain words that clearly spell out the Zoo is a special gem to our community. The word is, accreditation.
They go on and on about how the Salisbury Zoo is one of 12 Zoo's in the United States that's still free. Well guess what, I've been hearing that number for all too many years and now I want to know which ones are the 12 Zoo's. I'll call Joel today and ask him for the names of these 12 Zoo's and then I want to know how many of these 12 Zoo's are in fact accredited.
Being accredited by the AZA is a cost to the City each and every year. While the title of the article discusses Zoo's across America rising in attendance by some 200,000 people from 2007 to 2008, he goes on to say, "It doesn't correlate directly to the number of people we have visiting the zoo," Hamilton said. "But regardless, the number is still going up."
Well, I guess if we had a FREE Movie Theater, attendance would be up there too. It's Monday, things are desperately slow at the Daily Times and they'll print just about anything to make it look like you're getting something for your money.
The Salisbury Zoo is a cool place but it needs to start charging at least $1.00 at the door to get in. FREE to anyone with a City of Salisbury Driver's License but $1.00 to anyone else. What's your thoughts on that Folks.
Sunday At The Court Plaza
The County is pretty strict on these kind of things and we'll be checking in with the County to see if permits were in fact issued for them to replace the signs. I spoke with a representative from the Light House Restaurant who informed me that many of the tenants were complaining about kids skateboarding around the parking lot and almost getting hit by cars pulling out of their spaces and or being hit by skateboarders riding on the sidewalks as they left the hair salon and other places of business there.
While it was a good thing for Robinson to do what he can to help children have a place to go, the Court Plaza, (IMHO) was about the dumbest place anyone could ever think of to do something like this. The Landlord has to be sweating bullets in fear of lawsuits from parents should their child get hurt in her parking lot.
We'll let you know on the permit issues with Wicomico County some time later today. It is pretty strange they chose to go into work and create the signs today and install them on a Sunday but you do have to consider who they're working with in the first place.
