Let me get this straight, as a "Folk Artist" and my fellow guys all perform and sing, so we are "Entertainment", yet we have to pay $35 just to apply to play here? WTF!!! We are the entertainment, we should be paid to attend!

Hey BOZO it's called the National Folk Festival for a reason. There are supposed to be people coming from all over the "Nation." That includes people from North Carolina going there. People from Salisbury Maryland had gone to Greensboro North Carolina because I know them and they posted on their FB page.

But not all are folk festivals which only appeal to certain people. Also FYI Einstein people do travel 100's of miles out of MD to attend festivals, concerts and other events that appeal to them. My friend goes to many including all the way to NM. Greensboro is less then 8 hours away from Salisbury. This will without any doubts cut majorly into the projected amount of Salisbury attendees. Mark my word if 30,000 people show up be happy.
They tried offering 25% off for food vendors and they still didn't get enough and had to extend the time.
Maybe they can get the "artists" living in the subsidized "artist housing" on the river?? Lmao!!

Day and the rest of them have their heads shoved up their butts and can't think or do research on how when factory farming arrives things go to hell and don't recover. This isn't bashing or being "negative" as some like to say it's reality. Even the North Carolina National Folk Festival was nothing but a beg-a-thon just like Salisbury's has started out. Even up to the last day beyond they were still begging. National Folk Festival still needs $7,000 to reach fundraising goal

GREENSBORO — The National Folk Festival has collected about $69,500 in donations, much of it from the nearly 160,000 people who enjoyed its weekend of entertainment.
That’s up 78 percent from $39,000 raised last year, but still $7,000 short of its Bucket Brigade’s goal of $77,000, in honor of the festival’s 77th year.
“We are trying to take advantage of the afterglow of the event and hope to raise this money over the next day or so,” Tom Philion, president and chief executive officer of ArtsGreensboro, said Monday.
A Bucket Brigade of volunteers circulated through the festival, seeking to collect donations of $10 per person per day. Those donations help to keep the festival free.
Written on their Facebook page: “There was no entrance fee, and I happily donated $10 for a great day of entertainment.”
Although the festival has ended its three-year residency in the city, it will return Sept. 7 through 9 next year — as the locally-produced North Carolina Folk Festival.

Its a shame no one in leadership role in Salisbury/wicomico county actually possess any character and use resources to build a better city instead of continually running it into the ground. This festival will be a total reflection of Salisbury's true colors and the ghetto,crime, drug infested city it truly is.
