What Does Mistrial In Cosby's Case Mean In Court Of Public Opinion?

It's a depressing question to ask on a Father's Day weekend: What does it mean that a superstar comic and philanthropist once "America's Dad" just saw his prosecution on sexual assault charges end in a mistrial?

The trial against Bill Cosby ended Saturday, when a deadlocked jury was unable to reach a verdict on three counts of aggravated indecent assault after several days of deliberations. Until and unless the jurors speak, we won't know if just one or two of them declined to convict or if there was more widespread disagreement.

Prosecutors have already said they will retry Cosby and people on every side of the issue have used the outcome to argue their cause — from advocates for rape victims concerned that other victims won't be believed to those, including Cosby's wife Camille, who say the jurors resisting conviction stopped an unfair process out to ruin a successful man.

I think the verdict shows, once again, how difficult it is to convict a celebrity of serious criminal charges, especially in a case that boils down to taking one non-famous person's word over the celebrity's account.

Don't know, don't care.

Mistrial should be the end of the trial. Why does the prosecution get many bites at the apple after a loss? This violates Double Jeopardy IMO, they had their chance, no verdict, you go free. It clearly shows they can't do their job very good, and posably there really was no crime.
I go to home plate, miss my shot at the ball, so coach brings in a new batter to try again, that ain't fair, and my missing don't count against the team. It is all BS!

Simple - if hes guilty throw him in jail

Cosby was a vulgar, fowl mouthed comedian who went mainstream and basically cleaned up his act. By the time of his success playing Dr. Huxtable I don't think there was anything "there".
I could be wrong but my personal opinion is he spoke out about black violence in the inner cities and was crucified like many other conservative blacks.
Soros has a lot of money and nothing would surprise me anymore from that crowd.

I am certain he is guilty as hell of the allegations, but for the most part it was consensual and they kept working for him after this happened and more than once! I have lost all respect for this man, but the women involved were also not of the highest character! There is also a time period that has elapsed. This law suit should have happened decades ago.
