Editors Notes: Yes, we do know where they plan on building the next home. HOWEVER, we absolutely do NOT agree with this project. What YOU the taxpayer do NOT know is that this group is asking to be exempt from any impact fees as well as security 24 hours a day for several days, totaling more than $55,000.00 in security alone. Yeah, the liberals aren't going to tell you the whole scoop but you heard it here first on Salisbury News.

I think it's a great thing they are doing Joe
I agree that it is a great thing
How can this be so great when it will cost the taxpayers...ME....over $110K? I'm sure whoever it is, is deserving of this action but find someone to fund the cost....not ME
But let's put the focus on libs vs. conserves. That's what is really important.
I think that there is money to be made here. It just has to be! Nothing is for free.
Joe, your info is incorrect. There is no impact fee because there is a house on the site at this time. The $55,000 is also wrong instead the cost of permitting and tipping is being waived by the gov't and the total is much less than that. Please furnish the accurate info for the community.
Thank you anon 4:26!!
I bet you $1 nothing gets inspected during this blitz build.
(And)I'll bet you $2.00 that the family won't be able to cool/heat the house or pay all their bills once in... Why can't EXTREME build something reasonable with their projects for these people that are in "dire straits"? SO many of the previous people that have participated have lost their homes due to the cost of monthly upkeep... Look up the info... It's readily available... I can only hope that the family this time is truly deserving and able to live comfortably....
it was reported that the recent build in delaware is costing tax payers upwards of 75,000.00 so the only suprise to me is that its not going to cost our md taxpayers even more than the 55,000 quoted in this article.
If the house is paid for, only a lifestyle mistake can endanger it. They had the upkeep on the other house as well, PLUS a mortgage payment.
"They" had an 1100 sq foot home with a pellet stove and no AC. Then "they" are given a 5,000 sg ft all electric home. Utility costs triple.
They had property taxes (based on the value of the house) of $400 per year. Now they have property taxes of $2500.
They had home insurance costs which doubled or tripled.
That's how a gift house can be too expensive to keep.
just give the people a double wide and have it done with
im sure they'd love it
I have always been suspious of these homes built by this TV show and have refused to be suckered into all the hoopla.
Yes, a quick google search and anyone can see the large percentage of these homes end up on the foreclosure rolls.
I think all this show does is prey on people who can't see the forest through the trees all for ratings.
I'll bet a lot of these people who get these homes start mortgage free but end up going out and getting mortgages on them and then can't afford them with all the other costs that also went up on them as stated by a previous commenter.
The 75K+ was Public Monies{TAXPAYERS} for police, emergency personnel for traffic guidance,ETC.
There are other peoples other than "The Dunnings" in Lewes,De.,that were more "NEEDING"of that"GIFT". There were 4 "others". DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHO THEY WERE?????
O.K. What Happened To The Other 4 Choices For "Extreme Makeover/Sussex Cty.??? Can no one answer? Or does Joe have your tongue?????
