Veterinarian Dr. Nolte Does It Again And Again

Dear Mr.Albero,

I have been hearing lately that Dr.Nolte has harmed another animal while in his care. I wanted to share my families story regarding Dr.Nolte so maybe just maybe we can stop this man from harming any more precious animals.

My mother took our kitten "Patches" to Dr. Nolte on a Thursday evening because the kittens eyes and ears were draining. She was told they would have to keep the kitten overnight and run some test. My mother called on Friday afternoon to check on "Patches"and was told that Dr. Nolte would call her back. Well he never called, she called all weekend only to be told by any answering service he was out of town for the weekend. Come Monday morning my mother was at his office door before they even opened. She spoke to his assistant and was told that "Patches" had died in their care and that they had disposed of the kittens body.

To say the least this devastated my mother, she is an animal lover. We made several calls to his office requesting the kittens remains and the file so we could know exactly what happened. They never would produce either and said we would have to get a lawyer. I will add this, we are not financially able to afford a lawyer.

I hope someday his license to practice is pulled.

ON ANOTHER NOTE:

Tonight at 6PM, Stacy Sakai will do her very last news broadcast for WMDT 47 News. Stacy and I have been working on a story about ANOTHER unfortunate Family who recently lost their beloved pet in Dr. Nolte's care.

I believe Stacy's approach on this broadcast will be more along the Veterinarian Board and their failure to do anything against Dr. Nolte and his ongoing history of animal deaths throughout the years.

Be sure to watch WMDT at 6 PM tonight. It should be VERY interesting.

I don't understand why he is still operational if animals mysteriously die and/or disappear while under his care. Why aren't the pet owners protesting outside of his office to shed light on his practices? I know if my dog was neglected or killed by a vet I would be there raising kane and drawing attention every day until something was done to hold him accountable!

Probably because his location isn't in a high traffic area. I wouldn't use this guy if he were the last Vet on earth. Not after everything I've seen.

Nolte is also known as 'Dr. Death" I have known many animals that have died in his care. Even animals at his own house have been neglected and left to die with out proper care. It's awful. I wish he would get investigated.....

HE DID THE SAME THING WITH MY CAT, TOLD US HE WAS COMING HOME AFTER HAVING HIS JAW WIRED AFTER BEING RUN OVER, WE GOT A CAGE AND EVERYTHING BECAUSE WE HAD ANOTHER CAT AT THE TIME. THAT WAS ON A FRIDAY WENT TO PICK MY CAT UP MONDAY AND THEY SAID HE DIED SATURDAY.HE NEVER CALLED OR ANYTHING, TILL THIS DAY WE DON'T KNOW RATHER HE TREATED HIM OR NOT.... REMOVED THE OTHER CAT FROM HIS CARE IMMEDIATELY....

How many more animals have to suffer and die at his hands before the Veternary Board acts? This has been going on for years and nothing has been done. The fact that they told this woman she would have to get a lawyer to get the records proves they have something to hide, and she may have tipped her hand. They will most certainly doctor their records now to show that whatever health condition the cat had when he came in was so severe nothing Dr. Death could have done would have prevented it.

This man is a disgrace to all decent veterinarians and our community. He has been responsible for an overwhelming number of animal deaths and "disappearances" for as long as I can remember. What kind of human being could not contact a family or individual if their pet passed away? And who is he to "dispose" of reamains? This story and all the ones like it that I have heard breaks my heart. When will he be stopped??? I plead with anyone who has animals in his care to remove them IMMEDIATELY before it's too late!

My family and I have ALWAYS used Dr. Nolte, along with my boyfriends family. I had scheduled my dog to get fixed back in September, and I have to say that she is doing perfectly fine. I am one of the very fortunate that can say nothing bad has happened with our animals in Dr. Nolte's care, but after hearing at least a dozen horror stories I will most certainly be changing to a new vet. I will NEVER put my pet's life in danger again, and will be using someone new when it is time for her yearly appointment.

The people who continue to go there deserve everything they get. Everyone should know better by now. IDIOTS!

OMG!!! I've been saying that for years! I can't even believe this post is on here...I would say about 10 years ago, when I was still living at home, we had an adored Golden Retriever named Georgia Girl. Georgia was THE BEST dog on the earth. She had a cyst growing on her back as she got older and was there for quite some time. The vet, Dr. Death, told us that it wasn't intrusive to her or harmful but that he would remove it. Routine surgery, right? NO. She "Made it through the procedure but died of breathing complications after the fact". A family of 4 children and 2 adults had to lose their beloved 7th family member to Dr Nolte. I have trash talked him since that day usually only running into those who used him b/c "he was cheap". Can't put a price on LIFE! Yeah, WHY is he still practicing??????????? Hopefully this blog will put him out of business.

OMG, I can't believe it. I had no idea this man was doing this to everyone else. My famly recenty morned the loss of our dog, Maddie, when she was brought to his office with an injury to her ear. I was at his office early in the morning before he arrived. His staff asked me to leave her there and Dr. Nolte would look at her when he arrived and would call me. They asked me no questions regarding whether or not she ate and never indicated she would be put to sleep for the simpl couple of stitches she required. The telephone call I received was from Dr. Nolte advising he put her to sleep and she choked on her own vomit. Well DUH! I could have told him that would have happened we fed her every morning as we did this morning. We had no idea she would get hurt and need vet attention on this morning. She was only 8 months old. We still miss her terribly!

Wow. I moved from the area about 6-7 years ago. Same stories. People go to him because he's cheaper. Sad thing is, there's been about 20 years worth or rumors of his drug addiction, as well as the fact that he's a sub-par vet. I remember on an occassion of him giving my dog Rusty her shots, and twice, puncturing clean through her leg and squirting the contents onto the medical table. Can't believe he's still licensed. I've also heard that nickname Dr. Death, in fact that's how many people I know casually refer to him in conversation.

I can't believe what I'm reading. We used Dr. Nolte for our Golden Retriever for years until she had to be put to sleep at age 14 after having a stroke at home. She, too had cysts on her back that he said were harmless "fatty cysts" & to leave them alone. I feel terrible about these horror stories, but I never had a problem with him (& staff)or his care of our Golden or our cat, who is now 19 yrs. old.

2:37, if he killed everything he touched he'd certainly be out of business. Consider yourself lucky.

We have used Dr.Notle since moving to the area in April of 2008. We have taken 2 of our dogs their for spaying and nuetering, and in addition take our other dog their for all of their routine shots and visits. Many of my husbands family members use him as well, and I have to say that we are lucky none of us have ever had a problem with him or his staff. Recently, we rescued a dog who had a lot of problmes- malnourished, mange and some fight wounds, and Dr.Nolte provided all of the nessecary medication and care that the dog needed. I have to say that we love the fact that he is inexpensive, and does not charge for office visits, only the products that he uses, however I feel that I may be willing to spend the extra money in order to make sure that my pets are under safe care. I am sorry to hear of all the unfortunate losses that the families have suffered.

Sound like the Vet Board needs to be investigate.

So many of these boards and agencies don't do their dang jobs.

Only on the shore does this kind of thing happen under a blind eye. Anywhere else this man would have been sued or "called out" so many times he'd never want to practice anything around here again. A pathetic example of business practice from someone who obviously doesnt give a sh*t.

so which vet is gonna put up and offer vet care at a decent price? vets are far more expensive then any doctor visit i have had. I love my Dog And might not goto nolte for a procedure but for antibiotics and such, he is the only place ill go.

Pet Medical Center in Delmar good people with descent prices. My only complaint is that it is sometimes hard to get out of the place of Route 13

Eastern Shore Vet hospital off 13 in Laurel. Ive trusted my animals with them since I moved here. Ive never had a problem, and THEY care.

Good question 410PM. I have a pet who is in need to some minor surgery and worry about the expense but it needs to be done soon. I dont have pet insurance which I understand is out there and available. Any other recommendations?

Our family dog had a tumor on his chest and Nolte removed it, well he said he did...When my husband picked him up I was on midnights so I did not see it right away...We were told to keep the bandage on and when the bandage came off its was the worst thing I ever saw! It was a black and rotten hole. Nolte never removed it all and did not clean it. Our dog had to be put down.... " Charlie you'll be always missed!!"

the best vet around for the price is Dr Pappas in Delmar she took over Pet Medical!!

This man killed my dog over 20 years ago. We took our dog in for a simple rabies vaccine and he died of an infection from the needle 2 days later. It saddens me to think how many animals have been lost due to this idiot.

Dr. Nolte took care of both of my dogs for 12-15 years. Basic vet care. Some minor operations. Small, 18-25# dogs. Nothing bad happened to either dog under his care. I always felt he was and is a capable vet. Some people JUST have to BLAME something or someone else when something bad happens to a pet they love. They are animals, life happens. Pet owners would never spend on an animal what they would spend on another human being. Be real. This story line reads like a bunch of junior high kids whinning about some tough teacher. Boo hoo. They are animals. That's it.

I'm one of the lucky ones. I have always taken my pets to Dr.Nolte. I have even left one of my dogs with him overnight a few times for treatment. He even called with updates. His staff has always been very kind. My kids loved going to the office with us. The staff made them feel like they were helping take care of our dogs. I was torn to make a decision to switch but I dont have a choice after reading so many terrible stories. Its a shame. If he treated everyone as good as he treated us and our pets, he would be the best vet in town.
