It does make it easier getting up in the morning without it being pitch black outside.

I thought it was eventually being phased out...or was I mistaken?

No

I remember in the 70's when we didn't change because of the energy crisis. We walked to school with flashlights.

no no and no

Nothing to do outside in the winter anyway-might as well be dark early. Don't think it is necessary any more-but don't know who has the final word on this. Then again-I'm so used to doing it. If it ain't broke-don't fix it!

I never change my watch , however my wife goes by it and has for the 40+ years we have been married.

If you don't like it then it's Obama's fault.
If you do, it's a Republican accomplishment.

There is no S, it's Daylight Saving Time.

A couple of these post saying they didn't like the idea of Daylight Saving Time seem to be forgetting that we have been on Daylight Savings Time and have gone back to Standard Time. Then again we do spend more time in Daylight Saving Time than in Standard so I suppose that may be understandable.

What I really would like for them to do is to decide to stick with one of them. Which one really doesn't make that much difference.

It seems to take me about a week to get use to the change.

I think it is safer for the kids in the morning at bus stops when we are back on standard time.

I think you our asking the wrong question. The question should be:

Is Standard Time Still Necessary?

DST is important for both farmers and tourism, which happen to make up most of our local economy on Delmarva. The early sunset on Standard Time is a bit of an inconvenience to workers, who have to start at least an hour earlier now to get in a full day's work.
