See, We Were Right

One's a wanna be and the other is a has been. Either way, neither will be Mayor and both are jobless. Part time jobs don't count, according to Gary. I'm sorry, is this gloating?

Joe, did you see the Times today?! They are singing a new tune now-'Murder suspect found guilty',' 'Search for armed robby suspect' and 'Man gets life for attempted rape.' My personal favorite was 'Program would bolster police ranks!' Does this mean that the federal government has to offer SPD money to get them to realize that they have a crime problem and need to hire more officers?! I thought that crime was down in Salisbury...Why on earth would they need 8 more officers? Perhaps because they are FREE?

Dave, they are only "free" for three (3) years and then "someone" has to pick up the tab for continuation. Guess who that's going to be?

I think a little gloating is in order for a couple of days, at least. I'm not sure everyone understand how huge of a victory this was--the entrenched interests in Salisbury spent thousands and thousands of dollars to buy Gary the victory, yet the people stood up and said "enough." It really is huge. Gary reported his last campaign financial report as of March 24 at roughly $12,000. Now, why March 24 rather than 31 as required? Who do you think paid for the billboards, last minute mailers, ads in the DT, and radio ads? SAPOA. Who drove people to the polls? SAPOA. Who hosted private events trying to get students to vote for their guy? SAPOA. Who sent out letters to their tenants and even went door to door telling them how to vote? SAPOA. So if you add it all up (and add in the b.s "concerned citizens of Salisbury" mailing), I would be willing to bet that Gary's campaign was pushing $20,000 easily. And he lost, big time. Awesome.

Joe - They can join you in the jobless ranks!

Yes, lets move forward. Much as I hated Bush I no longer dwell on it.

I hope Jim takes a good look within the SPD. There are way too many sworn officers sitting at desk jobs that civilians could do. Make their asses work the streets. Start with webster, livingston, tyler, webber, and so on. Jim may be able to save money in the long run if they would just do their jobs to begin with.

I hope Jim has better sense than to listen to anyone inside SPD administration. He will get better advice outside.

Just combine city and county and let Mike Lewis run it.
