Norfolk Southern Railroad Will Close Crossing at Bacons Road for Repairs

Laurel -- As a public courtesy, the Department of Transportation (DelDOT) wants to inform area residents that Norfolk Southern Railroad will close the railroad crossing on Bacons Road between St. George Road and Bi State Boulevard near Laurel for repairs to the crossing. The crossing will be closed at 7 a.m. on Monday, July 16. The crossing will reopen by 5 p.m. on Friday, July 20, pending weather.

Detour routes:

Westbound: Bi State Boulevard to St. George Road and return to Bacons Road

Eastbound: St. George Road to Bi State Boulevard and back to Bacons Road

DelDOT will post signs to alert motorists of the closure and the accompanying detour routes.
