Stokes Blames Street Violence On 'Corrupt Police'

City Council member Carl Stokes is not mincing his words.

Not by a long shot.

And neither is the president of the city Fraternal Order of Police.

Stokes is blaming what he called "too many corrupt police officers" for the recent increase in shootings and murders in the city.

"Our people are afraid, " Stokes told WBAL's Dave Durian, because police are "protecting the drug runners."

FOP president Bob Cherry said he was "shocked" by the comments.

"It's not time to be pointing fingers," Cherry said, "It's time to be figuring out what we all do collectively so we don't have these kind of spikes."

Ocean Floor Mapping Initiative Underway Off Coast; Six-Week Effort

The next major step in the future development of a vast offshore wind farm got underway this week with the launch of a research vessel carrying teams of scientists that will spend the next month or so mapping and surveying the ocean floor in the designated area for the project.

On Monday, the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) was on hand at the commercial harbor in West Ocean City for the launch of the “Scarlett Isabella,” a 136-foot research vessel that will spend the next six weeks in an area about 10 to 30 miles off the coast of Ocean City designated as the Maryland Wind Energy Area (WEA). The vessel will host teams of scientists charged with mapping and surveying the ocean floor in Maryland’s designated WEA that could eventually be home to as many as 40 turbines off the coast of the resort.

The thorough geophysical survey of the ocean floor in the designated WEA is being conducted by CB&I/Coastal Planning and Engineering Inc., a private firm contracted by the state to conduct the study. The project comes with a $3.5 million price tag, which is being funded out of the state’s Offshore Wind Development fund. The $30 million fund was created out of the merger between Exelon and Constellation to provide research and development money for Maryland’s offshore wind energy project.

This says it all about, ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN!

Recognize this guy?   Even Fox News doesn't use this photo

ATT00002.jpeg
Do you know who this is?

It is Little Trayvon Martin...!  At 17 yrs of age.

For those of us who thought we were well informed and weren't.....quite the realty check.
That old adage applies here: "there are two sides to every story."

We don't always get the truth from the media.
One of my favorite rants - the liberal controlled media, television news, newspapers, magazines, radio; all continue to show 12 year old Trayvon; NOT 17 year old Trayvon.

In reality "little Trayvon" at the time of his death stood almost 6'2" tall and weighed 175 muscular pounds.  He had numerous run-ins with authorities (both at school and local police), had been stopped and almost arrested two days before his death for smacking a bus driver in the face, because the driver refused to let him ride for free.
He was released because the driver was told not to press charges by the bus company and to continue on his route.

When "little Trayvon" was suspended at school it was not only because he tried to bring a little marijuana in with him, he was in possession of wedding rings and other jewelry, watches, etc. that he said he "found" along with a large screwdriver while on the way to school that day.  The jewelry was turned over to the Police by the school.

I am not trying to say this was a good shooting.

I am not trying to say this kid deserved to die.
I am saying the media in the USA is controlled by liberals who twist and distort what you see and hear in order for you to see things their way.

Not a single paper has printed RECENT photos of this kid, because it would not keep your interest in this case.

Not a single paper will admit that this kid was a marijuana dealer.
His friends on Facebook all say he had the "best plants". Not a single paper will show you any of his recent photos where he shows off a mouthful of gold teeth and all of his tattoos. Not a single newspaper will tell the news like it really is ...and NOT how they want you to think it is... President Obama looked at the FIVE year old photo the media chose to show the Nation and said, "If I had a son...he would look like Trayvon.."  So from that comment should I assume you did
not bother to look for the facts in this shooting..
or should I assume you want a son who is a 17 year old drug dealing, gold teethed, tattooed thug whose name on one of his facebook profiles was "Wild Nigga" who 'finds" jewelry and burglary tools on the way to school? A fair and impartial news media in the USA ?  One that does not follow the preconceived liberal agenda?  One that is NOT looking to further divide this already fractured Nation?I didn't compose this.  I'm only passing it on.Never trust the news media for WHOLE TRUTH and NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH.

Trayvon at 12 yrs of age.. how he was shown to us!

 Amazing, isn't it?

Assateague Beach Being Surveyed After ‘Large Cache’ Found; WWII Ordnance Detonated Tuesday

ASSATEAGUE -- There was no shortage of pre-Fourth of July fireworks on Assateague Island this week after over 100 pieces of World War II era unexploded ordnance were discovered and then purposefully detonated with at least two explosions on Tuesday.

On Monday afternoon, a visitor walking along the North Ocean Beach area of the Assateague Island National Seashore discovered a single piece of interesting debris on the beach and brought the discovery to the attention of park rangers. Park rangers were able to quickly identify the strange artifact as a piece of military ordnance left over from the island’s rich history as a military test range.

Following park protocol, the Ocean City Bomb Squad was called to the island to investigate and make an assessment of the discovery. An examination of the site where the debris was found revealed an extensive cache of World War II military ordnance. The Ocean City Bomb Squad determined the size, scale and type of munitions discovered on the beach were beyond its protocol and the Emergency Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team from Aberdeen Proving Ground was brought in.

Los Angeles School District To Brainwash School Kids To Promote Obamacare

The Los Angeles Unified School District has a graduation rate of 66% well below thenational average of 78.2%.

Despite this, the LA school district is going to spend nearly a million dollars training kids to promote Obamacare.
Heartland.org reported, via Human Events:
The Los Angeles Unified School District will use a state grant to train teens to promote ObamaCare to family members. Covered California, the state’s health insurance exchange, announced grants of $37 million on May 14 to promote the nationally unpopular law.

LAUSD will receive $990,000. The district listed as a primary outcome for its project, “Teens trained to be messengers to family members.”

Covered California spokeswoman Sarah Soto-Taylor said staff have not questioned this goal.

“We have confidence that the model LA Unified brought to the table will be successful in reaching our target population, which includes family members of students,” she said.

LAUSD will also use tax-paid staff to promote ObamaCare through phone calls to students’ homes, in-class presentations, and meetings with employees eligible for ObamaCare’s taxpayer-covered healthcare, the grant award says.

After some conversation with Anna and her family, Bette Midler fulfills Anna's dream, and sings her iconic "Wind Beneath My Wings."

Virginia To Protect Site Of Pocahontas Story's Origin

Early Virginia, before the Europeans moved in and changed things, was ruled from a low bluff in Gloucester County, above a shallow bay framed by three creeks.

It was there that Chief Powhatan received John Smith in 1607, there that the Pocahontas legend began and there that modern-day landowner Lynn Ripley started picking up pieces of broken American Indian pottery so they wouldn't cut her dog's paws.

And it is there that representatives of Virginia's Indian tribes met with the governor Friday to formalize an easement to forever protect the site believed to be Powhatan's seat of power, called Werowocomoco.

IRAQ VETERAN ABSOLUTELY HAMMERS IRS CONTRACTOR FOR TAKING ‘ADVANTAGE’ OF VET BENEFITS PROGRAM: ‘SHAME ON YOU’

Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) lost both legs and damaged her arm while serving in Iraq with the National Guard.

So it shouldn’t come as a surprise to learn that the Illinois congresswoman has very, very little patience for people who take advantage of programs intended for our nation’s wounded veterans.

Case in point: Rep. Duckworth’s handling of Braulio Castillo, a contractor who leveraged his connections with IRS officials to score contracts set aside for the businesses of service-disabled veterans.

Rand Paul: Benghazi Will Haunt Hillary In 2016, Could 'Preclude' Her From Presidency

In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), a likely 2016 Republican presidential candidate, said that unanswered questions surrounding the Sept. 11, 2012, terrorist attack in Benghazi would haunt former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton if she decides to run for president from the Democratic Party in 2016.

“The thing is, is ultimately if she’s considering running for any kind of office in this country again, I think that she’s going to have to answer the questions about what did she know about the gun-running, what was her involvement with Benghazi, why didn’t she provide adequate security for the ambassador or for the mission in Benghazi?” Paul said in a phone interview with Breitbart News.

Spending On State Lobbying Shifts From Gambling To Health Care

Eight out of the 10 highest paid lobbyists in 2012 are on track to retain their titles in 2013, while business spending on lobbyists shifted from gambling to health care, according to a post-session report released by the State Ethics Commission. For the six month reporting period from Nov. 1, 2012 to April 30, 2013, lobbyists have reported earning $23 million.

At the halfway mark through the 2013 reporting year for lobbyists, Gerard Evans is slated to be the highest paid lobbyist in Maryland, with year-to-date earnings of $1.176 million. Maryland Hospital Association is on track to being the biggest spender, having so far paid out $380,448 to lobbyists.

The report does not cover lobbyists for state agencies or local governments who are not required to file. The report also does not show how much of their fees lobbyists or their firms spent on staff, overhead and other expenses.

The Leftist Takeover Of The Komen Foundation Is Complete

On June 17th, Nancy Brinker, the sister of Susan Komen and the founder of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, lost her job as CEO of the organization as a result of attempts to defund Planned Parenthood. She has been replaced by a woman who led an organization that has been involved in the development of ObamaCare and the HHS contraceptives mandate.

Brinker follows Karen Handel, who is now a candidate for the U.S. Senate from Georgia, and Liz Thompson.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure named Dr. Judith Salerno as its new president and chief executive last week. Salerno served as chief executive and chief operating officer of the Institute of Medicine, the organization that is responsible for providing medical “approval” for the HHS mandate, a rule in ObamaCare that forces employers to provide free contraception, sterilization, and abortion-inducing drugs to employees through health insurance.

He said that means they'll have to take one day per week or two days per pay period as furlough days.

‘OBAMACARE HUB’ TO PUT NSA DATA MINING TO SHAME? HERE ARE THE POTENTIALLY SCARY DETAILS

Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH) stands next to a printed version of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, during a news conference on Capitol Hill

Fox News host Greta Van Susteren on Tuesday hosted Investor’s Business Daily writer John Merline to discuss a potentially disturbing aspect of “Obamacare.”

Under the Affordable Care Act, a “big data system” will be created to track millions of Americans’ information, including tax and Social Security information, according to Merline.

“Well, the government has to verify all this information because, among other things, they have to make sure you’re eligible for insurance in the exchange. But, more importantly, they have to determine whether you’re eligible for any of these subsidies,” he explained. “So in order to do that, they have to tab into these government databases, the IRS, the Social Security Administration, the Department of Defense, Veterans Administration, even the Peace Corps. This data hub is going to tap into all these different databases in order to verify the information you’re providing to the exchange.”

Priest To Pelosi: Denounce Abortion Or Renounce Catholicism

Former House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi has been outspoken over the years in her support for abortion, or as she calls it, “reproductive health.”

At the same time, she has been outspoken about her Roman Catholicism, to the point of kissing Pope Benedict XVI’s ring and presenting herself for Communion during the Inaugural Mass for Pope Francis.

Like her fellow attendee at that Mass—Vice-President Joe Biden, also a publicly professed Catholic and abortion supporter—she hasn’t let the fact that the Church does not, and never has, sanctioned abortion, and considers receiving or formally participating in an abortion to be a mortal sin, deter her on either front.

IRS Hearing Continues - More Pleading 'Da Fif'?

Following yesterday's 'Queerbait' comments and pleading 'Da Fif', we suspect more of the same to follow today as the House Ways and Means committee continues its investigation into the IRS targeting practices at 10amET

Some highlights from yesterday's shenanigans,
For the second time in as many months, a senior IRS manager on Wednesday invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self incrimination, fueling perceptions of an agency in crisis.

Greg Roseman, a Deputy IRS Director, spearheaded the awarding of the IRS's largest contract in history to a company owned by a close friend of his, an action that is prohibited under government contracting regulations.

As evidence of their close friendship, the committee published text messages between Roseman and Castillo. The two men apparently found kinship in using homophobic slurs. One exchange reads, "Paging Dr. Faggot." The response reads, "Queerbait. How come u haven't called back? Ain't got all day. Lol."

Apostle Paul’s Writings Defend Homosexuals

Says World-Famous Cryptographer and Biblical Researcher
Michael Wood, author of “Pauline Paradoxes Decoded”, says newly clarified meanings of key words used in Bible pave way for more churches to embrace homosexual members

MIAMI, Fla. -- For the past 10 years, cryptographer Michael Wood, designer of the unbreakable REDOC-II encryption system, has been using his decoding skills to help biblical scholars more accurately decipher the first-century meanings of words and symbols used by the New Testament authors. His most recent findings are convincing a growing number of biblical scholars and theologians that many of the actual messages contained in the New Testament on the subject of homosexuality are shockingly different from what has been previously thought.

“When his writings are properly translated, it’s clear that Apostle Paul not only did not condemn homosexuals, but he openlydefended them against the religious views of his day,” says Wood, who provides extensive documentation to support his findings in his book, “Pauline Paradoxes Decoded”, now in worldwide distribution.

The downloads section of Wood’s website (www.michaelwoodcrypto.com) contains a five-page analysis of Paul’s actual position on homosexuality, entitled “Apostle Paul Defends Homosexuals”. Wood also makes available a full excerpt of a crucial section of his book, entitled “Law and Pederasty”, which thoroughly documents that Paul used the Greek wordarsenokoitÄ“s to exclude rapers of boys from God’s Kingdom, not homosexuals as conventional Bibles say.

“Michael Wood’s analysis of arsenokoitÄ“s as concerning pederasty, rather than homosexuality, was convincing at the linguistic level,” says Dr. Chris Tilling of St. Mellitus College and author of “Paul’s Divine Christology”.

“Mr. Wood presents exhaustive evidence from first and second century documents, both Greek and Jewish, for the authentic, original meaning of arsenokoitÄ“s,” says William Berg, Ph.D. in Classical Languages (Princeton University). “As it turns out, arsenokoitÄ“s was understood as boy-raper, not just throughout antiquity, but through the time of Martin Luther and well into the modern age.”

Wood says there is only one reference to homosexuality in Paul’s letters, even though conventional bibles claim there are three. He says conventional bibles contain two passages which mistranslate the Greek word arsenokoitÄ“s (1 Corinthians 6.9 and 1 Timothy 1.9). This leaves only one unequivocal reference to consensual adult same-sex acts, and Wood asserts he has found documentation that Paul’s only reference to homosexuals was written to defend them against the religious views of his day.

Wood’s findings regarding homosexuality comprise but one part of a much larger puzzle solved in “Pauline Paradoxes Decoded”. In this work, Wood analyzes all of Paul’s statements regarding law, not just the Jewish legal prohibition on homosexuality. Paul’s view of law has been one of the most puzzling and seemingly insolvable in Bible study, writes James Sanders, eminent Bible scholar and editor of Dead Sea Scrolls.

Wood claims to have found the first systematic synthesis of Paul’s statements on law and that the full resolution can be expressed in a single sentence.

The Rev. Colin Miller of Peter Maurin House is persuaded by Michael Wood’s one-sentence solution:

“I do think it solves the problems,” says Miller. “And mostly in the ways he says it does. This is incredible, and I am very grateful to him for it. After reading it, I went back and read through all the relevant portions of Paul’s letters, and I cannot find one place that remains contradictory in the strong sense. He’s done something truly remarkable.”

Wood says, “Scholarly confusion over Paul’s view of law has caused theologians to misperceive Paul’s view of the Jewish legal prohibition of homosexuality; the prohibition found in Leviticus. Many Christians today invoke Leviticus against homosexuals, yet this was the very passage that Paul openly defended homosexuals against.”

It’s Acts Of Journalism That Matter Not People Called “Journalists”

It is the job of the Fourth Estate to act as a check and a restraint on the others, to illumine the dark corners of Ministries, to debunk the bureaucrat, to throw often unwelcome light on the measures and motives of our rulers. ‘News’, as Hearst once remarked, ‘is something which somebody wants suppressed: all the rest is advertising’. That job is an essential one and it is bound to be unpopular; indeed, in a democracy, it may be argued that the more unpopular the newspapers are with the politicians the better they are performing their most vital task.

- Brian R. Roberts from a October 29, 1955 article in the London periodical “Time & Tide”

Who is a journalist is a question we need to ask ourselves. Is any blogger out there saying anything—do they deserve First Amendment protection? These are the issues of our times.

A Little FYI To Everyone Who Thinks "Progress" On Marriage Was Made Today

SCOTUS says DOMA is unconstitutional and Prop 8 will live...

I would like to think I speak for a majority of conservatives when I say opposition to gay marriage is NOT about hating homosexuals. Everyone has sin, and heterosexuals have plenty of their own to mind.

People who want to say this is about "hate" are either missing, or are choosing to be willfully ignorant of the MUCH greater and more important societal consequences of messing with something that has been a bedrock for civilization since its beginning.

The will of the people is shifting on this, granted, and I have no idea where those of us who don't want to give up the fight for the culture will go from here. However, the political fight is pretty much over now. You can't unring a bell.

I do know this, because the masses want gay marriage doesn't mean it's right or True.

Report: Sea Levels To Claim Maryland Coastline Much Faster

A report from the governor's scientific commission due out later today is much more ominous than an earlier study with similar conclusions.

Just five years ago the prediction was that the state's low lying waterfront areas could disappear by a bit less than 3 feet by the end of this century.

But the latest caculations put the loss at possibly closer to 6 feet, with a likely loss rate in the 2-foot range by 2050.

That loss of coastline is believed to be the direct result of global warming and the melting of the polar ice caps.

We Have A Country Founded By Geniuses, But Run By Idiots

My grandfather had a name for the people in Washington, he called them educated jerks, boy was he ever right. I think my grandfather is looking down from Heaven saying to us all, “See, what did I tell you.” I can’t help wondering if these politicians took a class in stupidity when they were in school.

If you can get arrested for hunting or fishing without a license, but not for being in the country illegally …
you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

If you have to get your parents’ permission to go on a field trip or take an aspirin in school, but not to get an abortion … you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

If the only school curriculum allowed to explain how we got here is evolution, but the government stops a $15 million construction project to keep a rare spider from evolving to extinction …
you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

If you have to show identification to board an airplane, cash a check, buy liquor or check out a library book, but not to vote who runs the government …
you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Press Release 6-27-13

On Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 1:51AM a Worcester County Deputy observed what appeared to be a disabled pick-up truck and utility trailer on the shoulder of westbound Ocean Gateway just west of Old Bridge Road, West Ocean City, Maryland. This deputy stopped to offer assistance and observed a white male was standing outside the vehicle looking perplexed at the trailer, truck combination.

The trailer had sheets of formed metal loaded on it that extended up and over the bed of the pick-up truck onto its roof. The rear window of the pick-up was shattered by the sheets of metal that had shifted. This individual was identified as Nicholas Richard Vilkas, 23 of Hebron Md. There had been prior thefts from business in that area.

While on the side of the road the defendant advised that he had stolen the trailer and sheets of steel from the rear of a business on Ocean Gateway. Mr. Vilkas was arrested without incident.

Mr. Vilkas was charged with two counts of theft and taken before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance. Mr. Vilkas was released on his personal recognizance pending trial.

SALISBURY DRUG DEALER SENTENCED TO FIFTEEN YEARS IN PRISON

On June 25, 2013, a Wicomico County jury convicted Timyron Lamont Hutt, age 23, of Salisbury, Maryland, of possession with the intent to distribute heroin and possession with the intent to distribute cocaine. Following the jury trial, a Wicomico County Circuit Court judge sentenced Hutt to 15 years in the Maryland Division of Corrections for the heroin offense. The first 10 years of that sentence represented a mandatory minimum, non-parole eligible sentence based upon Hutt’s status as a subsequent offender. Hutt had previously been convicted of possession with the intent to distribute narcotics in 2008. Under the count related to possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, Hutt was sentenced to 5 years. That 5 years was suspended and a term of 5 years of probation was imposed upon his release from prison.

Hutt had been pending charges related to his arrest by members of the Maryland State Police Gang Enforcement Unit. After conducting an investigation into a drug complaint, troopers discovered that Hutt had an outstanding warrant for a parole violation related to an earlier drug conviction. After placing Hutt under arrest, troopers discovered a significant amount of heroin as well as cocaine in a baggie which was concealed between the cheeks of Hutt’s buttocks.

Wicomico County State’s Attorney Matthew A. Maciarello commended the Maryland State Police Gang Enforcement Unit for its work in the investigation and prosecution of this case. Mr. Maciarello also thanked James L. Britt who prosecuted Hutt.

Heroin Finding A New Home In Md Suburbs

As an unintended consequence of getting tough on those who have been dealing prescription painkillers, some law enforcement agencies in Maryland are reporting an increase in heroin use by young people and others in suburbs and towns across the state who are finding heroin more available and cheaper than prescription drugs.

"So what we have done is driven out the pills so to speak....and what has happened is the pills have become harder to get," Lt. Lee Dunbar, with the Harford County Sheriff's Narcotics Task Force, tells WBAL's Scott Wykoff. "What that has done is driven up the price of the pills and heroin has actually become cheaper and more readily available."

He says it’s not just an inner city problem anymore as more-and-more teenagers and 20-somethings all across the state are turning to heroin with prescription drugs getting more expensive and tougher to get.

Resume:
Camden, DE- The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred early this morning east of Camden.

The incident occurred around 12:45 a.m. as William E. Caldwell was operating a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle westbound on East Lebanon Road (SR10) just east of Sorghum Mill Road. The motorcycle, which was traveling at a high rate of speed, failed to negotiate a right curve and entered into the crossover in front of Liberto Plaza where it struck a yield sign with its front end. The motorcycle continued westbound for approximately 90 feet before going down on its side ejecting both the operator and the passenger. The motorcycle then continued westbound for another 230 feet before coming to rest in the eastbound lanes of SR10.

Veronica Crain, who was wearing a helmet, was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to Kent General Hospital where she died a short time later.

William Caldwell, who was not wearing a helmet, was initially transported by EMS to Kent General Hospital before being transferred to Christiana Medical Center where he is listed in serious condition.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident. Alcohol and speed appear to be a factor in this case. East Lebanon Road east of Sorghum Mill Road was closed for approximately three and a half hours as the crash was investigated and cleared.

Coal-Power Financing Minimized in World Bank Energy Policy

The World Bank plans to restrict its financing of coal-fired power plants to “rare circumstances,” according to a draft strategy that reflects the lender’s increased focus on mitigating the effects of climate change.

The Washington-based lender will help countries find alternatives to coal, according to the draft obtained by Bloomberg News which lays out the bank’s policy on lending to its member countries. The paper, which is subject to revision, describes universal access to energy as a priority for the World Bank’s mission to help end poverty.

The bank “will cease providing financial support for greenfield coal power generation projects, except in rare circumstances where there are no feasible alternatives available to meet basic energy needs and other sources of financing are absent,” according to the report. Greenfield is a term for a new facility.

Airline Has A Lot Of Explaining To Do After $1.2M Goes Missing During Flight

There’s a reason people handcuff themselves to briefcases full of money (at least, they do in the movies): So those stacks of cash don’t wander off and go missing. To wit: The FBI says $1.2 million in cash disappeared from a Swiss International Air Lines jet that arrived at John F. Kennedy Airport from Zurich, Switzerland, the place we imagine as filled with super secrets banks and streets paved in gold.

It’s not entirely clear when the cash — all in $100 bills — went poof. The FBI said the money was discovered to be missing after the plane had landed in New York, reports the Associated Press.
