Prager: I’m Jewish, and I Think the Biggest Increase in Anti-Semitism Is From the Left

All my life I have reminded fellow Jews in America that we are the luckiest Jews to have ever lived in a non-Jewish country.

I know what I’m talking about. I wrote a book on anti-Semitism, taught Jewish history at Brooklyn College, and fought anti-Semitism since I was 21, when Israel sent me into the Soviet Union to smuggle in Jewish religious items and smuggle out Jewish names.

Even after the massacre of 11 Jews in a Pittsburgh synagogue, this assessment remains true.

But the greatest massacre of Jews in American history is a unique American tragedy.

It is a tragedy in part because America has finally made the list of countries in which Jews were murdered for being Jews. While this was probably inevitable, given that 330 million people live in America, it is painful—equally for me as an American and as a Jew.

And second, while there is no difference between the murder of Christians at a church and the murder of Jews in a synagogue with regard to the loss of life and the suffering of loved ones, there is something unique about the murder of Jews for being Jews: Anti-Semitism is exterminationist. Anti-Semites don’t just want to persecute, enslave, or expel Jews; they want to kill them all.

Hug It Out: Study Shows Hugs Really Do Make Us Happier, Especially On Hard Days

In a spat with a loved one and can’t reach a resolution? Hug it out. A new study finds that hugs shield us from the harmful effects of a soured mood that come from arguments and conflicts with others.

Researchers from Carnegie Mellon University say people who consider themselves huggers actually have better overall health and stronger relationships. Previous research has shown the benefits of hugs and the role of touch, but studies have typically focused on romantic relationships. This latest work sought to examine the power of hugging among various social circles.

The researchers found that people who received a hug on the same day of experiencing a conflict with another person showed a smaller decrease in positive emotions and a smaller increase in negative emotions compared with individuals who were not hugged. In other words, being hugged at some point in the day may have shielded one’s good mood from diminishing completely, and similarly, prevented them from feeling more upset about a conflict. In fact, hugs were shown to help reduce bad moods in participants through the following day, as well.

Leftist Lie: 'Trump Is Responsible for Anti-Semitism'

What does Trump Derangement Syndrome look like? Well, the American people have been served up a prime example in the days following the anti-Semitic murderous attack on the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh last Saturday. Almost immediately, much of the mainstream media was either tacitly or blatantly blaming President Donald Trump for motivating the anti-Semitic murderer. Never mind the fact that the murderer hated Trump. But when it comes to Trump Derangement, cogent facts that demonstrate the absolute absurdity of a claim don’t matter. The derangement rage must be stoked.

In that light, when Trump visited Tree of Life to offer his condolences to the families and friends of the victims of this heinous crime, upwards of 1,000 anti-Trump protesters descended, determined to politicize the event. One organizer declared, “President Trump’s words, actions, and polices have espoused and emboldened the type of violence and hatred our community so tragically endured with the massacre of 11 Jews in their place of worship. The president’s visit on Tuesday, much like his ideas and his presidency, is unwelcome in our city and our country.”

Teach Children: Martin Luther King and Ronald Reagan Were Right

The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., and Ronald Reagan are two of the greatest leaders in American history not only because of the struggles they won but how they won them.

They were great communicators who achieved great victories without violence. And they were able to do this for the same reason: They unapologetically appealed to the ultimate truth.

In 1987, when Reagan spoke at the Berlin Wall in front of the Brandenburg Gate, the media paid most attention to his direct challenge to the Soviet leader: "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall."

But Reagan spoke even more powerful words at the end of that speech...

Guatemalan Official: Caravan Used Babies, Women, Elderly As 'Human Shields'

Guatemalan security forces were not able to hold back the thousands of people, many from Honduras, who broke through a chain-link fence into Mexico earlier this month.

Videos posted online show the moment when the border was breached and members of the "caravan" – the first of two -- dashed into Mexico, on their way to the United States.

Why couldn't Guatemalan security forces hold them back? Fox News's Laura Ingraham asked Mario Duarte, the Guatemalan Secretary of Strategic Intelligence, on Tuesday night:

"We tried very hard, as you could have seen in the videos," Duarte responded. “The issue is that these people put babies, women and the elderly at the front, almost like human shields, so when they started pressing them against our security personnel we had to do all our best to protect their lives, to protect their human rights and protect their dignity as well," Duarate said.

The Trump Administration's Extraordinary Midterm Record

This election is a referendum on Demo voters' IQ and the MSM's choke-hold on their opinion.
Donald Trump’s now famous 2016 “Make America Great Again” promise was, and remains, much more than a campaign slogan. Even The New York Times conceded after President Trump’s first year in office, “A wave of optimism has swept over American business leaders, and it is beginning to translate into the sort of investment in new plants, equipment and factory upgrades that bolsters economic growth, spurs job creation — and may finally raise wages significantly.”

That optimism, economic expansion, and job and wage growth have accelerated in the nine months since his first inaugural address — “Our New American Moment.” The indisputable results of Trump’s domestic policy successes, combined with his administration’s considerable foreign policy achievements, have ensured that all Americans are better off today than we were two years ago.

But those stuck in Democrat echo chambers and afflicted with Trump Derangement Syndrome are so clinically depressed that they believe this to be the most miserable era in our nation’s history.

In the depths of the Great Depression, Franklin Roosevelt famously declared in his first inaugural address, “Let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself. … We face the arduous days that lie before us in the warm courage of the national unity.”

But today’s Democrat Party “leaders,” in their insatiable and increasingly irrational quest to recover power, have nothing to offer their constituents but fear and disunity.

This midterm election has, as President Trump has repeatedly framed it, become a contest between jobs and mobs.

Investors #DUMPKELLOGGS: Shares Have Their Worst Day in 20 Years

Shares of leftwing cereal maker Kellogg Co. fell by more than 7 percent Wednesday after the company said it expects profits to be flat for the year, a retreat from its earlier projection of 5 to 7 percent growth.

Kellogg’s stock was down as much as 9.6 percent in morning trading but recovered some of the early losses as the broader market moved higher.

The company said its profits were hit by investment in single-serve packages of its snacks like Pringles. The company is spending money in an attempt to grow its snacks as sales of its breakfast cereal products continue to decline.

As Breitbart has reported, Kellogg is effectively controlled by a leftwing foundation:

Quote of the day

"Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote that he is not making a present or a compliment to please an individual — or at least that he ought not so to do; but that he is executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society for which he is accountable to God and his country." —Samuel Adams (1781)

Trump: Birthright Citizenship ‘Will Be Ended One Way or the Other’

President Donald Trump vowed Wednesday to continue fighting to end “so-called birthright citizenship.”

“So-called Birthright Citizenship, which costs our Country billions of dollars and is very unfair to our citizens, will be ended one way or the other,” he wrote on Twitter.

The president’s proposal to issue an executive order to end birthright citizenship was revealed by Axios reporter Jonathan Swan on Tuesday during an interview with Trump.

“It was always told to me that you needed a Constitutional amendment–guess what? You don’t,” Trump said. “Number one, you don’t need that. Number two, you can definitely do it with an act of Congress. But now they’re saying I can do it with just an executive order.

The proposal drew wide condemnation from establishment journalists and Democrats but earned praise from Senator Lindsey Graham for addressing a long-standing immigration issue.

The president also highlighted an old video clip of Harry Reid arguing against birthright citizenship.

Missouri Dem lashes out at McCaskill for ‘crazy Democrats’ comment, in profanity-laced tirade

Sen. Claire McCaskill’s, D-Mo., efforts to distance herself from “crazy Democrats” sparked a fiery backlash from a Missouri Democratic state senator, who responded by calling her a “piece of s---” and nicknaming her “Dixie Claire.”

“Claire McCaskill is desperate,” state Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal tweeted. “She’s a piece of s---. Instead of knowing why people of color are angered by this administration, she chooses to put us and our families in harm’s way. If my family is harmed, blame it on Claire McCaskill. She deserves to lose. She is not a Democrat.”

Chappelle-Nadal’s comments were first reported by The Daily Caller.

McCaskill said in an interview earlier this week with Fox News’ Bret Baier that she was not a "crazy Democrat," and took a swipe at Chappelle-Nadal in the process. The senator also released a radio advertisement in which a narrator assured constituents, "Claire's not one of those crazy Democrats."

“The crazy Democrats are people who walk in restaurants and scream at elected officials’ faces,” McCaskill told Baier. “The crazy Democrats are ... we have a state senator here in Missouri that actually advocated for the assassination of President Trump. That’s a crazy Democrat.”

McCaskill was apparently referring to a comment from August last year in which Chappelle-Nadal said on Facebook: “I hope Trump is assassinated.” She eventually deleted the post and apologized.

MISSOURI DEMOCRATIC STATE SENATOR SAYS SHE HOPES TRUMP IS ASSASSINATED

“I posted something on my personal Facebook and I should not have done that, and for that I am sorry for that," Chappelle-Nadal told St. Louis television station KMOV at the time. "But I am not going to shy away from what caused that anger at all, I'm not going to shy away from that."

At the time, McCaskill said that Chappelle-Nadal should resign.

McCaskill is in a tight race with Missouri Republican Attorney General Josh Hawley ahead of next week’s midterm elections.

Chinese military secretly placing scientists in U.S. universities

The Chinese government is secretly enrolling the country’s prize military scientists in Western universities to gain expertise in such areas as “hypersonic missiles and navigation technology,” according to a new report.

The report by the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, which has links to the Australian defense ministry, claimed that People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has paid for “more than 2,500 military scientists and engineers to study abroad,” with many of them concealing their official ties to China’s defense community.

A key target of Beijing’s program, the institute suggests, are universities located in the so-called “Five Eyes countries” — the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia and New Zealand — that have established a close intelligence-sharing network.

“Dozens of PLA scientists have obscured their military affiliations to travel to Five Eyes countries and the European Union, including at least 17 to Australia, where they work in areas such as hypersonic missiles and navigation technology,” said the report published this week, warning that “it’s not clear that Western universities and governments are fully aware of this phenomenon.”

Obama Admin Approved 71,000 SNAP Retailers Without Background Checks

The Obama administration approved more than 71,000 retailers to accept Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits but did not require many of these retailers to undergo background checks, according to a recent report from the Government Accountability Institute (GAI).

The report from GAI, where Breitbart News Senior-Editor-at-Large Peter Schweizer serves as president, found that the Obama administration approved 71,471 retailers between 2008 and 2012 who applied for the first time to become authorized SNAP retailers— but did not require the applicants to undergo background checks.

A 2012 U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) annual report on SNAP retailers showed that the number of authorized SNAP retailers grew from 175,094 in 2008 to 246,565 in 2012— a 41 percent increase during the time period leading up to 2013 when SNAP enrollment reached its highest recorded level since the welfare program’s inception.

Pelosi: You’ll See a Cooling of Political Rhetoric ‘When We Win’

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) said Tuesday there would be a cooling down of political rhetoric "when we win" the midterms.

"Late Show" host Stephen Colbert said there had been much discussion lately about "lowering the temperature of political discourse," asking Pelosi if she'd seen "evidence of that."

"Well, I think when we win, you will see evidence of that. Because when we do win, we will have, as we open the new Congress, we will honor the vows of our founders, E pluribus unum, from many one," Pelosi said. "It's OK to disagree in the marketplace of ideas, that's exciting, but it is also important to find solutions that unify and not divide."

The remark was similar to Hillary Clinton's comment earlier this month that "civility can start again" when Democrats win back Congress.

Oprah will knock doors for in Georgia for Democrat Stacey Abrams' bid for governor

Oprah Winfrey will lend her star power to Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams' quest to become the United States' first black woman governor by campaigning in the state on Thursday.

Abrams' campaign confirmed that the billionaire media mogul will appear with Abrams, who is vying to become the country's first black female governor. The Atlanta Voice and BuzzFeed News first reported Winfrey's plans.

Oprah will knock on doors, host two town halls - one in Marietta, and one in Decatur - and has formally endorsed Abrams.

The last time Oprah made such an endorsement was for Barack Obama when he was running for president in 2006.

Abrams told the Atlanta Voice: 'Oprah Winfrey has inspired so many of us though the years with her unparalleled ability to form real connections and strengthen the bonds of family and community.

I am honored to have Oprah join me for uplifting and honest conversations with voters about the clear choice before us in this election and the boundless potential of Georgians.'

Winfrey is part of a caravan of high-profile figures marking the final days of Abrams' tight race with Republican Brian Kemp.

Vice President Mike Pence has multiple stops scheduled with Kemp.

Former President Barack Obama will campaign Friday for Abrams, and President Donald Trump is slated to be in Georgia on Sunday.

Federal jury in Baltimore convicts eight on murder, drug charges

A federal grand jury in Baltimore convicted eight members of the notorious Trained To Go gang on multiple murder, drug and firearm charges Wednesday, the Justice Department said.

Jurors found all eight men of murdering their rivals and suspected police informants, drug trafficking, witness intimidation, and possession to distribute heroin, marijuana and cocaine. Some of the defendants were also convicted of drug and firearm charges.

Led by brothers Montana Barronette and Terrell Sivells, the gang was responsible for 10 murders in West Baltimore, including a key federal witness, prosecutors said.

“For six years, Trained To Go terrorized the Sandtown neighborhood, committing murders, robberies and other violence as they sold their poison on the streets of Baltimore,” said Assistant Attorney General Brian Benczkowski. “Today’s convictions ensure that Montana Barronette and the other seven defendants in this vicious gang now will be held accountable for their horrible crimes.”

During the 24-day trial, prosecutors presented evidence that between May 2010 to May 206, the defendants and other members of Trained to Go terrorized West Baltimore through murders, shootings and witness intimidation intended to protect the gang’s drug territory.

Ten Chinese Agents Charged with Hacking Aviation Companies

The Justice Department unsealed federal charges Tuesday against 10 Chinese agents, including intelligence officers, accused of running a five-year hacking operation to steal technology from American aviation companies. The Justice Department promised more indictments will follow.

“Officials described the case as part of a push by the Trump administration to highlight what U.S. authorities say are China’s continuing efforts to steal information from American and European companies through cyber attacks and on-the-ground recruiting,” the Wall Street Journal reported.

“This is just the beginning. Together with our federal partners, we will redouble our efforts to safeguard America’s ingenuity and investment,” Assistant Attorney General John Demers promised.

The unsealed indictment describes a plot spearheaded by the Jiangsu Province Ministry of State Security (JSSD), headquartered in Nanjing, China, to steal “sensitive commercial technological, aviation, and aerospace data by hacking into computers in the United States and abroad.”

The operation was specifically interested in a commercial jet turbofan engine being developed by a partnership between American and French companies not identified in the indictment. A Chinese state-owned company was working on a similar design at the time.

Workers’ Pay Rises at Fastest Rate Since 2008, Outpacing Inflation

Wages are rising faster than prices, giving American workers more buying power.

Compensation for U.S. workers was up 2.8 percent compared with a year ago in the third quarter, the Labor Department said Wednesday. That outpaces the 2.3 percent rise in the consumer price index.

The employment-cost index, which measures wages and benefits, rose 0.8% in July through September. The means wage gains are accelerating from the second quarter’s 0.6 percent gain.

Ann Coulter: The True History of Millstone Babies

Having mastered fake news, now the media are trying out a little fake history.

In the news business, new topics are always popping up, from the Logan Act and the emoluments clause to North Korea. The all-star panels rush to Wikipedia, so they can pretend to be experts on things they knew nothing about an hour earlier.

Such is the case today with “anchor babies” and “birthright citizenship.” People who know zilch about the history of the 14th Amendment are pontificating magnificently and completely falsely on the issue du jour.

If you’d like to be the smartest person at your next cocktail party by knowing the truth about the 14th Amendment, this is the column for you!

Of course the president can end the citizenship of “anchor babies” by executive order — for the simple reason that no Supreme Court or U.S. Congress has ever conferred such a right.

It’s just something everyone believes to be true.

How could anyone — even a not-very-bright person — imagine that granting citizenship to the children of illegal aliens is actually in our Constitution?

Eavesdropping on Obama’s revolutionary guards (Organizing for Action)

There is nothing like the local coffee shop near my home to hear the unvarnished truth. Tuesday morning, I was sitting with my morning brew reading how wonderful it was that the Dodgers got slam dunked, when a group of 12 folks, mostly in their 20’s, and the leader in her forties, orders and they sit across from me at a large table and hold their meeting. They are the true believers; door bell ringers for the Democratic candidate for the California Assembly in my district.

The leader was real piece of work, white, sour faced, short hair, no makeup, black jeans and black tee, and wearing a black and white “Palestinian” keffiyeh around her neck, and carrying a notebook with the OFA (Organizing for Action) logo. Yes, Obama’s own Revolutionary Guards.

Let me report just the most salient instruction that was told to these folks… lie. In a nutshell, the leader said to ask the home owners you contact what their political concerns are, then feed these concerns back as positive positions for the candidate. Taxes too high? Feed back that the candidate wants to lower taxes. More gun control? Feed back that the candidate want more gun control. Too many immigrants? Feed back that the candidate wants to review the situation.

This went on, ad nauseum, for 15 minutes.

Then one woman asks the leader about the candidate’s position on Israel and what should they say? I stare at my laptop, listening, not daring to look at the group.

Roughly 900 pounds of ‘invasive’ crabs found in Cincinnati

More than a dozen shipments containing roughly 900 pounds of an “invasive” type of crab were uncovered by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials, the agency announced Wednesday.

Agriculture specialists with the CBP found the Chinese mitten crabs on Oct. 16 after spotting “x-ray anomalies” while inspecting Chinese cargo at an express consignment facility in Cincinnati, Ohio, the CBP said in a news release.

“Once the specialists opened the boxes they found thousands of live crustaceans, all destined for residences in New York,” the news release said.

“Our agriculture specialists and officers work closely with other federal agencies to protect our natural resources,” CBP Supervisory Agriculture Specialist Barbara Hassan said. “In this case, cooperative efforts with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) prevented the introduction of a highly invasive and destructive species into our ecosystem.”

Trump is right – ending birthright citizenship is constitutional

President Trump’s announcement Tuesday that he is preparing an executive order to end birthright citizenship has the left and even some conservatives in an uproar. But the president is correct when he says that the 14th Amendment to the Constitution does not require universal birthright citizenship.

An executive order by President Trump ending birthright citizenship would face a certain court challenge that would wind up in the Supreme Court. But based on my research of this issue over several years, I believe the president’s view is consistent with the view of the framers of the amendment.

Those who claim the 14th Amendment mandates that anyone born in the U.S. is automatically an American citizen are misinterpreting the amendment in a manner inconsistent with the intent of the amendment’s framers.

Universal birthright citizenship attracts illegal immigration. By granting immediate citizenship to anyone born on U.S. soil, regardless of the legal status of the parents, we reward and encourage illegal and exploitative immigration.

Most countries around the world do not provides birthright citizenship. We do so based not upon the requirements of federal law or the Constitution, but based upon an erroneous executive interpretation. That should be changed.

The acquittal prompted protests in Islamabad and Lahore, where the demonstrations quickly became large enough that government officials urged people to stay inside. Members of the Islamist movement Tehreek-e Labbaik staged sit-ins and yelled slogans against Pakistani officials.

New Voter Fraud Cases Show Need to Secure Our Elections

The midterm elections are less than a week away, and that means that ensuring the integrity of the electoral process is more important than ever.

If Americans cannot say with certainty that their votes will be counted, that the process is free of fraud, and the outcome is valid, what incentive do they have to turn out in the first place?

Unfortunately, the latest news on the election integrity front is less than inspiring.

In August, the Justice Department announced it was prosecuting 19 foreign nationals for illegally voting in North Carolina—some of them in multiple elections. Those prosecutions are ongoing.

A month later, Californians learned—just weeks before a tremendously consequential election—that a “processing error” had led to 1,500 people being improperly registered to vote in their state, including at least one non-citizen.

Unbelievably, this is only the latest in a series of snafus that have plagued the state’s new “motor voter” law. Earlier this year, the state Department of Motor Vehicles botched 23,000 registrations and double-registered potentially tens of thousands more.

Just this week, The Heritage Foundation has added 20 new cases to its online election-fraud database, which now documents 1,165 proven cases of election fraud spanning 47 states. Some 1,011 of these cases resulted in a criminal convictions.

The new entries run the election fraud gamut, but voters heading to the polls may find one from Philadelphia particularly disturbing...

Address Records Show Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) Still Lived With Her First Husband Throughout Marriage To Her Apparent Brother

In recent days, Minnesota state Representative Ilhan Omar (D-60B) has campaigned with Minnesota Attorney General candidate Keith Ellison (D-MN). Omar is the Democratic nominee for the federal House seat, MN CD-5, that Ellison is vacating. She is the assumed favorite to win the seat.

Win or lose, however, a Department of Justice investigation into her past appears inevitable. A remarkable -- and growing -- amount of evidence implicates her in multiple federal and state felonies.

The allegations stem from Omar’s 2009 marriage to British citizen Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, her apparent brother. Below, exclusive new evidence backs the claim that this marriage was fraudulent. Also, this new evidence suggests that student loan fraud and immigration fraud were Omar’s motivations for marrying Mr. Elmi.

In 2016, shortly after Rep. Omar defeated 44-year incumbent Phyllis Kahn in the Democratic primary for MN House District 60B, someone anonymously posted the initial allegations on the SomaliSpot.com message board. The poster claimed Omar had been granted a Minnesota marriage license in 2009, and subsequently married her brother Ahmed Elmi while she was still Islamically married to Ahmed Hirsi -- with whom she had two children at the time.

Food prices are going up next year

Expect to pay more for groceries next year.

Major food giants Mondelez, Hershey Co, Nestle SA, Unilever and Coca-Cola Co. have all announced they will need to hike prices in 2019 to offset higher freight and ingredient costs.

Even Kellogg Co., which reported Wednesday, said profits took a hit in the third quarter amid record-high shipping costs. While the company didn’t announce price increases yet, it did say in September that its new flavor of Eggo Waffles had to be priced 12 percent higher than similar ones.

Dirk Van de Put, chief executive for Mondelez International, said earlier this week that at first many retailers were reluctant to accept the increases but now they see the need.

Black Halloween Revelers Don Whiteface and MAGA Hats

You may have heard the kerfuffle that comes up every year over problematic Halloween costumes because lunatics abound. You know the drill: Indian princesses and Mexican sombreros are "racist" and a form of "cultural appropriation." White people are scolded constantly for allowing our children to role-play on Halloween and are instead supposed to dictate to them what they can and cannot wear in case it might offend some pink-haired perma-oppressed harpy. But it only goes one way. If you're white in America, there's all kinds of stuff you can't do without causing an international incident that could get you fired and shunned. Everyone knows you can't wear blackface (even if you're dressing up like a military man in full camouflage — greasepaint is not okay). But the rules are even more convoluted than that. Take this gem from The Caucasian's Guide to Halloween, written by a super thoughtful black person just to help us out.

Bolton Rejects Criticism of Decision to Leave INF

U.S. National Security Adviser John Bolton on Wednesday pushed back against criticism of the Trump administration's decision to withdraw from a bilateral nuclear arms control treaty with Russia, noting the Kremlin has been in breach of the agreement for at least six years.

Speaking at an event hosted by the Alexander Hamilton Society in Washington, Bolton echoed President Trump's assertion that due to Russia's repeated violations the only country bound by the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, or INF, is the United States. While considered a critical step in diffusing the Cold War at the time of its signing, Bolton accused Russia and adversaries like China of taking advantage of the deal.

"We're at a point in terms of Russian violations where the president has decided to get out of the treaty and people have said, ‘Oh my goodness, can't you just try to bring the Russians back into compliance?'" Bolton said.

Who Decides What the 14th Amendment Means?

If you want to understand what the Constitution means, read The Federalist Papers. In those essays, the Constitution’s primary author, James Madison, as well as leading defenders Alexander Hamilton and John Jay, explain what the Founders meant in the legal document that established our government. Likewise, if you want to understand what the 14th Amendment means, revisit the words of its authors. Specifically, let’s look at the clause “subject to the jurisdiction thereof,” which is being debated after President Donald Trump’s proposal to eliminate by executive order birthright citizenship for babies born to illegal aliens in America.

Michigan Sen. Jacob Howard, who sponsored Section 1 of the 14th Amendment (the Citizenship Clause), noted in 1866 that “subject to the jurisdiction thereof” was “simply declaratory of what I regard as the law of the land already.” He stated further, “This will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens, [or] who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers.”

In 1873, the Supreme Court concluded (albeit in non-binding comments indirectly related to the case) that “subject to the jurisdiction thereof” was meant to exclude the children of “ministers, consuls, and citizens or subjects of foreign states born within the United States.”

However, in 1898’s Wong Kim Ark decision, the Court ruled that a man born in the U.S. to Chinese-immigrant parents was a citizen, as were “all children here born of resident aliens.” That still doesn’t settle the question of illegal aliens.

Ketamine depression treatment is 'worth every penny,' patients say - but we don't know how it works

Ketamine was launched decades ago as an anesthetic for animals and people, became a potent battlefield pain reliever in Vietnam and morphed into the trippy club drug Special K.

Now the drug is finding new life as an unapproved treatment for depression and suicidal behavior.

Clinics have opened around the United States promising instant relief with their 'unique' doses of ketamine in IVs, sprays or pills. And desperate patients are shelling out thousands of dollars for treatment often not covered by health insurance, with scant evidence on long-term benefits and risks.

Chicago preschool teacher Lauren Pestikas long struggled with depression and anxiety and made several suicide attempts before trying ketamine earlier this year.

The price tag so far the $3,000, experimental, off-label ketamine treatments are 'it's worth every dime and penny,' said the 36-year-old.

New York signs call Trump supporters ‘trash’ who must be purged from city

NEW YORK CITY, October 29, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – Over the past few days New Yorkers have been shocked and appalled by new signs claiming to be from the city sanitation department, identifying Trump supporters and socially-conservative Christians as “trash” who don’t belong in the Big Apple.

Last week, posters bearing the message “Keep NYC Trash Free” and the logo of the New York City Sanitation Department began appearing on buildings and trash cans in New York City, The Blaze reports.

One features a stereotypical redneck with a Confederate flag tattoo holding a Chick-fil-A drink cup; the other shows a woman holding a Bible. Both are wearing President Donald Trump’s iconic red “Make America Great Again” caps, with a “No” symbol over their faces. MassLive reports that a third poster takes aim at Boston Red Sox fans. All the posters are believed to have been put up on Wednesday.

Maryland Fishing Report

These shorter, cooler days are a great sign for anglers, as fish in the bay feed heavily to prepare for winter conditions or for migration.

White perch are in the deeper holes in the rivers now as the cool temperatures have pushed the perch out of the shallower creeks and coves.

On the freshwater scene, many anglers are finding good trout fishing and more activity from coldwater species such as yellow perch, pike, walleye and pickerel.

Cannabis inflicts long-term damage on teenage brains, study finds

Teenagers who use cannabis are inflicting long-term damage on their brains, a new study has warned.

Researchers tracked nearly 4,000 teenagers over fours years and found clear evidence of marijuana use being linked to struggles with reasoning, memory and inhibitions later in life.

Previous studies have shown that cannabis misuse has been linked to impairments in learning, attention, and decision-making, as well as lower academic performance.

But the team, led by the University of Montreal in Canada, says its findings are the first to show the causal and lasting effects of teen pot use on cognitive development.

Dem Sen. Joe Donnelly takes heat for awkward comment on hiring minority staffers, says he ‘misspoke’

Indiana Sen. Joe Donnelly – one of the most vulnerable Democrats heading into next week’s midterm elections – is taking heat after awkwardly responding to a question during Tuesday night’s Senate debate with Republican Mike Braun by saying several of his staffers are great at their jobs even though they are minorities.

“Our state director is Indian American, but he does an amazing job,” Donnelly said during the debate. “Our director of all constituent services -- she’s African American, but she does an even more incredible job than you could ever imagine.”

Proof That The World Is Nuts!

In      Lebanon    , men are legally allowed to have sex with animals but the animals must be female. Having sexual relations with a male animal is punishable by death.

(Like THAT makes sense.)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

In      Bahrain    , a male doctor may legally examine a woman's genitals, but is prohibited from looking directly at them during the examination. He may only see their reflection in a mirror.

(Do they look different reversed?)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Muslims      are banned from looking at the genitals of a corpse. This also applies to undertakers. The sex organs of the deceased must be covered with a brick or piece of wood at all times

(A brick?)

The penalty for masturbation in    Indonesia     is decapitation. (Glad I don't live in Indonesia!)

(Much worse than 'going blind!')

There are men in      Guam      whose full-time job is to travel the countryside and     deflower      young virgins, who pay them     for the privilege of having sex for the first time.

Reason: Under Guam law, it is expressly forbidden for virgins to marry.

(Let's just think for a minute: Is there
any job anywhere else in the world that even comes close to this?)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

In      Hong Kong     , a betrayed wife is legally allowed to kill her adulterous husband, but may only do so with her bare hands.

The husband's illicit lover, on the other hand, may be killed in any manner desired.

(Ah! Justice!)

Topless saleswomen are legal in   Liverpool, England      - but only in tropical fish stores.

(But of course!)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

In      Cali, Colombia     , a woman may only have sex with her husband, and the first time this happens, her         mother      must be in the room to witness the act.

(Makes one shudder at the thought.)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

In      Santa Cruz, Bolivia     , it is illegal for a man to have sex with a woman and her daughter at the same time.

(I presume this was a big enough problem that they had to pass this law?)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

In      Maryland    , it is illegal to sell condoms from vending machines with one exception: Condoms may be dispensed from a vending machine only in places where alcoholic beverages         are sold for consumption on the premises.'

(Is this a great country or what?)

Well,.... not as great as Guam!

Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour.
(Who volunteers for these tests?)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

The      Ant      can lift 50 times its own weight, can pull 30 times its own weight and always falls over on its right side when intoxicated.

(From drinking little bottles of ???)

(Did our Government pay for this research??)

Butterflies      taste with their feet.

(Ah, geez.)

An      Ostrich's      eye is bigger than its brain.

Starfish      don't have brains.

(I know some people like that, too.)

And, the best for last?

Turtles      can breathe through their ass.

(And I thought I had bad breath in the morning!)

Thank you all for reading this.
