Safe Streets Legislation and City Park Bike Paths Are Again Postponed
Mayor James Ireton, Jr. was informed today that two vital pieces of City legislation have been postponed, again, by Salisbury City Council. Falling victim to inaction were the Safe Streets Three Strikes Legislation and the MOU with the International Mountain Biking Association to re-establish mountain biking paths in Salisbury City Park.
Safe Streets Three Strikes Legislation was introduced in August of 2010 – 2 years ago.
MOU with International Mountain Biking Association was given to City Council on May 16, 2012.
“The culture of “no” continues in our City. Our citizens are aware that policy has become a statement of what we won’t do. For those neighborhoods who await action on problem properties and to our partners in the mountain biking community, who have offered to partner with us in the City Park, today you were given the answer “no.” This is an unfortunate turn of events in our City,” said Mayor James Ireton, Jr.

How did he make the leap from something being postponed to it being a "culture of no?" That implies that the items were shot down never to be heard about ever again.
Someone needs to take cell phone pictures of Ireton out drinking at the bars. I've seen him at the old Escape so drunk he couldn't stand up. Many of my friends share the same stories from different bars. Take those pictures and send them to Joe.

Why do we need Safe Streets to address problem properties? Isn't this a city function to address these problem properties?
If neighbors have a concern over a problem property than the city needs to do something about it NOW. That's what code and compliance and the PD is for.

They should just tell omalley to take his safe streets money and shove it anyway. Another one of his programs he created to make more state jobs.
Everyone blindly falls for the "it's free money" propaganda. Well it ain't free! It's tax payers money being juggled around.

Does the rest of the media dare mention Ireton is gay. It might explain a lot of his behavioral issues.
EXCUSE ME JIM, Where's the press release or press conference on the Salisbury Police Department being so short handed? These STREETS aren't SAFE. Oh that's right. According to your new numbers Salisbury is the safest place on earth, like ANYONE is buying that crap.
Grown men don't throw these fits Jim. If I had a child attending a class in the school you teach in I'd know exactly how you would act and I'd remove that child immediately. Children are the ONLY people you can bully and control. Leave the adults alone because your going to lose.

I would like to offer that I am a member of the party of "no". I believe, that every elected member seeks to accomplish something. I say that every elected member's accomplishment is nothing more than an act of coercion.
If I don't believe in public roads, I am still forced to pay them.
If I don't believe in public schools, I am still forced to pay for them.
If I don't believe in foreign wars, I am still forced to pay for them.
I don't want to pay for crap at the end of a gun anymore.
Allow me to make my own choices.

anonymous 9:04, Oh, I'll have the other side soon enough. I KNOW the other side. I'm simply respecting those elected officials to state in their own words the "other side" as they are the ones under fire.
As for the other anonymous 9:08 comment, the Mayor has openly admitted he is gay. Some agree with that lifestyle, some do not. Me personally, I feel Jim should be proud of who he is but I will NOT cover it up.
If people want to express their opinion they have every right to do so and anyone who gets upset with me would be more interested in censorship than anything else.
Jim Ireton played at being Terry Cohen's Friend until he got elected.
He used Terry Cohen's organizational skills, campaigning skills, came to her home and played with her children until he got elected.
And then he turned on her and has treated her like so much sewage ever since.
Jim Ireton is a two faced back, stabbing, drama queen and is lower than whale feces.
Why does the media feed into this garbage? Terry Cohen is the one that discovered Safe Streets concept in Annapolis, what is Jimmy boy trying to make everyone think it was his idea? He has no ideas.

Just to show you what a low life POS the drama queen is, This Press Release trashing Terry came out while she was at the funeral of a life long friend and the day old turd knew it.
anonymous 11:08, that's Ireton's history. He's a game player and that's all he is. He used Debbie, Terry and Tim to get everything he wanted and then turned on them once he got it. If only everyone knew just how close he and Debbie were.
Nevertheless, he did in fact do this to Terry. She had a funeral today, Ireton knew it, he went to the Press with his press release knowing she couldn't defend it and I'm sure they ran with it.
Again, IF the press had done their homework they would have learned EVERYTHING Ireton stated is untrue. Again, I'm waiting for something back from that side of the Council so I won't say any details. I will say however, once the public learns the TRUTH behind what Ireton stated he will be forever done as a Mayoral Candidate.
The lies are about to face him head on. The games are about to end for him. He is acting like an immature individual and from this point forward if Jim is going to use and abuse the press I'm going to take the gloves off myself and expsoe everything.
The funniest part is, our traffic is through the roof and for those anti Albero Bloggers out there who think I'm not telling the truth, go to Alexa and look ay my numbers. I am blowing away every form of local media hands down. These people are so screwed up in the head, they actually believe they have an exclusive audience and guess what, we're reaching almost every one of those househiolds and businesses. Mind you, I say almost because we all know there are some people out there that get the newspaper and don't have Internet access. Beyond that though, out Internet numbers blow them away. I do not need them for a Mayoral election but for the sake of fair and balanced they should be publishing other views that I have put out there, even on a citizen basis.
People are seeing them for who they are and what they're about and considering our numbers just keep rising daily they are lsoing ground quick and they know it.

His actions (the mayor) are directly related to the nations problems with entitlement issues.
He has never worked for a living , his focus is always towards giving more money to those who won't work and refuse to establish any productivity in the city.
When I say he has never worked , think about it , look at his credentials , what a waste.
He reminds me of a mammal who others have kicked out of the social pack. He is on the edge now and can't hold on for much longer. We should be aware that he could be very dangerous and become a person of interest on the wanted list. I'm sure in time , his actions will take him down , the people of this country are tired of this type of crap.
I watch very little network TV, for the most part I watch old reruns, movies and sports.
I rarely watched WBOC or WMDT just because I'm not into trash Tv reality shows. Now that I can't trust their news slant, there is no reason to watch those stations.
I'm seriously thinking about canceling my cable and go with netflix for $7 a month. Just like the paper, I'm not liking to see what I'm paying for and it's my choice.
There is a little red box to the top right of my computer that I now use for news, if I don't like what I see I can just click the red box with the X in it!
