Incident: Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute
Date of Incident: 7 January 2010
Location: Lee Street, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Gregory D. Snead, 39, Fruitland, MD
Narrative: On 7 January 2010 at 9:13 AM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle operated by Gregory Snead of Fruitland MD. During the encounter, a WCSO drug K9 scanned Snead’s vehicle for the presence of the odor of illegal drugs. After the K9 alerted to that odor, a deputy began to search both Snead and his vehicle. During the search, a substantial sized baggie fell from inside Snead’s shorts. Inside the baggie was what the deputy recognized as marijuana. Based on the amount of marijuana seized, it appeared destined for distribution by Snead.
The deputy transported Snead to the Central Booking Unit post arrest where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Snead in the Detention Center in lieu of $60,000.00 bond.

Location: Ocean Hwy. at Foskey Lane, Delmar, MD
Suspect: Thomas W. Miles, 20, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 11 January 2010 at 7:36 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle operated by Thomas Miles of Salisbury for speeding. Upon contacting Miles, the deputy detected that Miles appeared extremely nervous at being stopped. Based on Miles extreme nervousness, a WCSO Drug K9 team arrived and scanned the vehicle for the presence of the odor of illegal drugs. During the search, the K9 alerted positively which caused the deputy to search Miles’ vehicle. During the search, the deputy located a substantial sized baggie containing marijuana in the glove compartment. Based on the amount seized, it appeared more than what one individual would consume and therefore seemed destined for distribution.
The deputy placed miles under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, Miles was released on personal recognizance by the Commissioner.
