US Virgin Islands Governor Renews Gun, Ammunition Seizure Order

U.S. Virgin Islands Gov. Kenneth Mapp renewed a highly controversial executive order in January that allows the National Guard to seize arms from everyday civilians.

The executive order Mapp extended on Jan. 2 was first issued in September. The order declares that the U.S. Virgin Islands is in a “state of emergency” and gives the adjunct general power “that may be required by the military forces for the performance of this emergency mission.”

Mapp told The Daily Caller in a December 2017 phone interview that the national guard is “not authorized to take arms and munitions from civilians,” and said those that continue to think the order authorized that power are being “foolish.” While Mapp continues to make the same assertion when questioned about the order, the language of the text explicitly authorizes the seizure of arms and ammunition.

Fusion GPS Admits They Used John McCain to Pass Anti-Trump Dossier to Obama-Era Intel Agencies

EILAT, Israel — The founders of the controversial opposition research firm Fusion GPS admitted that they helped the researcher hired to compile the infamous, largely discredited 35-page dossier on President Donald Trump to share the document with Sen. John McCain.

The goal of providing the dossier to McCain, the Fusion GPS founders explained, was to pass the information contained in the questionable document to the U.S. intelligence community under the Obama administration.

The disclosure raises questions about whether McCain knew that the information he delivered to the intelligence community was actually an opposition document reportedly funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

McCain’s office did not reply yesterday to a Breitbart News request for comment on the matter.

Anger as 'Underage' Migrant in Controversial 'Teen Love' Children's Documentary Revealed as Adult

An “underage” migrant, who was presented as being in a romantic relationship with an underage girl in a controversial German children’s channel television programme, has admitted he is actually an adult.

The documentary Malvina, Diaa and Love was broadcast in November on the publicly-funded German television channel Kika, which is directed at children aged three to 13, and has been slammed by many as “propaganda” as it favourably presents a largely one-sided relationship between a 16-year-old German girl and an adult Syrian asylum seeker.

The Syrian named Diaa was said to be around the same age as 16-year-old Malvina but later admitted he is actually 19 years old and some have even alleged he could be over 20, Die Welt reports.

The documentary, which portrays Malvina as madly in love with the Syrian, shows Diaa telling his girlfriend to behave more modestly, wear less revealing clothing, and even consider converting to Islam for him.

New York prison guard accused of raping female inmate

A New York prison guard has been accused of repeatedly raping a female inmate, forcing her to perform oral sex on him then smuggling her the morning after pill.

Lt. Carlos Martinez is on trial for the alleged rape of an inmate, named only as Maria, who says he attacked her repeatedly at the Metropolitan Detention Center between December 2015 and April 2016.

The woman, 31, testified on Tuesday that Martinez, 47, made her perform oral sex on him and raped her on a desk in an abandoned office inside the central Manhattan prison.

She was incarcerated on drug trafficking charges at the time but has since been released.

Gohmert Rages: If Trump Passes DACA With No Wall, GOP Will Lose Congress And Trump Will Be Impeached

House Judiciary Committee member Louie Gohmert (R-TX) wrote a scorching op-ed on Wednesday warning that if Trump betrays his base and works with Republicans to pass a "DACA amnesty" bill without first "securing the border and building a wall where it is needed," Republicans will get slaughtered in the 2018 midterm elections less than ten months away - with Nancy Pelosi reclaiming her seat as Speaker of the House.

Once that happens, Gohmert writes, Trump would most certainly face an impeachment attempt:

Following that devastating loss, the first order of business for new House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in January 2019 in the 116th Congress will be an impeachment vote regarding President Donald J. Trump. The great hope for a return to the rule of law that was created when President Trump was elected will be gone.

Gohmert goes on to assert that Trump is working too hard to impress members of Congress - most of whom were not supportive of him even just weeks before the election - and would gladly "stab him in the back" at their first opportunity. The mere fact that Trump broke a campaign promise to compromise on DACA amnesty "no matter what legalistic or deceptive name it is given," will be used as ammunition against the President, says Gohmert.

IG: Obama’s ICE ‘Missed Opportunities’ to Arrest High-Risk Terror-Linked Aliens

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency under former President Barack Obama may have failed to identify and arrest “highest risk” known or suspected terrorist aliens due to the absence of follow-up screenings after they are released.

Sanctuary cities that refused to cooperate with immigration authorities also prevented the agency from following up on the individuals in question, reveals a watchdog agency.

Based on a study of case files of detained aliens identified as known or suspected terrorists during fiscal years 2013 through 2015, the inspector general for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) found:

"ICE continues to face significant challenges with its screening of aliens who may have ties to terrorism. Auditors warn ICE may have missed opportunities to identify, apprehend, and adjudicate the status of aliens posing the highest risk to public safety and national security."

The audit indicated law enforcement agencies in sanctuary cities prevent ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) from screening criminal aliens for terrorist ties.

Twitter Engineer Admits to Banning Accounts that Express Interest in God, Guns, and America

Twitter direct messaging engineer Pranay Singh admitted to mass-banning accounts that express interest in God, guns, and America, during a Project Veritas investigation.

“Just go to a random [Trump] tweet and just look at the followers. They’ll all be like, guns, God, ‘Merica, and with the American flag and the cross,” declared Singh, who was secretly recorded by Project Veritas reporters. “Like, who says that? Who talks like that? It’s for sure a bot.”

After being asked whether he could get rid of the accounts, he replied, “Yeah. You just delete them, but, like, the problem is there are hundreds of thousands of them, so you’ve got to, like, write algorithms that do it for you..”

GOP Deserting Posts Ahead Of Midterms To Sabotage 'America First' Agenda

Establishment willing to throw elections to Democrats to bring The Swamp back to status quo

Establishment Republicans are abandoning their posts to throw the midterms to the Democrats to derail President Trump’s ‘America First’ agenda.

“While my service to California’s 49th district will be coming to an end, I will continue advocating on behalf of the causes that are most important to me, advancing on behalf of the causes that are most important to me, advancing public policy where I believe I can make a true and lasting difference, and continuing the fight to make our incredible nation an even better place to call home,” he said in a statement Wednesday.

Feds crack down on birth tourism at ‘maternity hotels’

Federal Homeland Security agents raided 20 alleged “maternity hotels” in Southern California where pregnant Chinese women pay tens of thousands of dollars to live to ensure a “made in America” baby, reports said.

The feds raided locations in Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino counties on Tuesday, targeting three competing birth-tourism schemes, officials told NBC News, which was on the scene of one of the raids.

One of the properties was the ultra-deluxe Carlyle building in Irvine, California, which housed pregnant women and new moms for fees ranging between $40,000 and $80,000 to ensure their children would have American citizenship, the outlet reported.

“I am doing this for the education of the next generation,” one of the women told NBC News.

Warren Buffett prefers flip phones — and he’s not alone

Billionaire investor Warren Buffett says he’s not giving up his flip phone just yet, and he’s not the only one.

Buffett told CNBC Wednesday that he’s not interested in a new smartphone, even though Apple CEO Tim Cook has personally tried to convince him to join the iPhone revolution. Buffett — who recently predicted that crypto-currencies will “come to a bad ending” — flashed a Samsung flip phone during an interview and said “the market is not yet saturated for iPhones.” Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway is one of the top five shareholders in Apple.

Jim Thatcher, an assistant professor of urban studies at the University of Washington, Tacoma, didn’t replace his smartphone when it broke. Instead, and only because his spouse and daughter’s school needed to be able to reach him in an emergency, he switched to a flip phone.

The switch has been therapeutic for Thatcher. He responds to emails more slowly and is less attuned to the news now. He also doesn’t check his phone if he gets bored and he’s more purposeful about how he uses his time. “I’m more focused on the immediate world around me, whether it’s observational or introspective,” he said. It also gives him more control over the data he shares, another big plus for him.

Adequate Sleep Can Help Reduce Sugar Intake

If one of your New Year's resolutions was to lose weight, and you have a tough time staying away from sweets, try getting more sleep, says a British study.

Researchers at King's College London found that getting more sleep reduced the amount of sugar adults ate, and generally led to a healthier diet in those who reported sleeping less than the recommended minimum for adults of seven hours.

Getting more sleep resulted in a 10-gram (two-and-a-half teaspoons) reduction in reported intake of free sugars compared to baseline levels. Sleeping longer also reduced the total intake of carbohydrates.

"The fact that extending sleep led to a reduction in intake of free sugars, by which we mean the sugars that are added to foods by manufacturers or in cooking at home as well as sugars in honey, syrups and fruit juice, suggests that a simple change in lifestyle may really help people to consume healthier diets," said investigator Wendy Hall.

Winning: Trump Airstrikes Driving Taliban to Find Alternative Funding

The Trump administration’s unprecedented airstrike campaign against the Taliban’s top funding source, opium and heroin, may be driving the group to look for new ways to fund its terror operations in southern Afghanistan.

Voice of America (VOA) reports:

"Taliban officials say they have established a new customs house in the Delaram district of southern Nimruz province in the southwestern part of Afghanistan.

"The new effort to collect revenue follows joint Afghan-Coalition airstrikes on Taliban narcotics processing labs in the Helmand province last November. U.S-led coalition says such attacks will continue. A Taliban statement says it will begin collecting a transit tax in the southern Nimruz and southwestern Farah provinces on Jan. 13."

In a desperate move to fund its terror operations, the Taliban has resorted to various illegal means to make money, including kidnapping, extortion, as well as smuggling drugs, minerals, and precious stones, VOA learned from Afghan officials.

The Taliban is reportedly using the funds to buy weapons and intensify its offensive against the U.S.-backed Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF), which include police and army units.

Feinstein Admits She Was Mentally Unstable When Releasing Fusion GPS Transcript

Amid all the 25th Amendment malarkey being thrown at the president, it is ironic that Democratic California Sen. Dianne Feinstein admitted a "bad cold" may have impaired her mental faculties and caused her to release Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson’s testimony.

This is the second excuse from Feinstein for her actions that so enraged Sen. Grassley. Earlier, as we detailed here, she admitted (then retracted) being "pressured" to release the transcripts.

And now, as The Daily Caller's Peter Hasson notes, Feinstein, 84, expressed regret on Wednesday for keeping Sen. Grassley in the dark, and suggested it was because of a “bad cold.”

“The one regret I have is that I should have spoke with Senator Grassley before,” she told NBC News.

“And I don’t make an excuse but I’ve had a bad cold and maybe that slowed down my mental facilities [sic] a little bit.”

Grassley said Tuesday that Feinstein’s decision to abruptly publish the documents was “confounding” and said he expected the documents to be released “when we both agreed to release it.”

White House Takes First Step To Attach Work Requirements To Medicaid

After passing the Trump tax cuts late last year, the White House revealed that immigration, welfare reform and the administration’s nascent infrastructure plan would be its top priorities in 2018.

And while lawmakers say they’re close to a tentative immigration compromise to preserve DACA protections by packaging them with a border-security package that will presumably include some funding for the president’s promised border wall, the White House is already starting its crackdown on Medicaid.

To wit, the administration issued guidance early Thursday that will force people trying to collect Medicaid that they are working, or preparing to work. The policy change, according to the Washington Post, is the biggest blow to Medicaid in the program’s 50-year history.

However, it’s widely expected that any attempts to implement this policy will be met with a court challenge by the states, which administer Medicaid, and advocacy groups.

To be sure, 10 states are already lined up to adopt the new policy. They’re just waiting for federal permission to impose work requirements on able-bodied adults in the medicaid program.

Kamala Harris Brings Anti-Gun Stance to Judiciary Committee

There are two new Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee, and neither one shares an affinity for the Rule of Law. This week Senators Kamala Harris and Cory Booker joined the committee, which “handles judicial nominations and appointments to the Justice Department,” The Washington Post explains. But it’s Kamala Harris in particular who should most alarm originalists. For example:

Harris spent six years as California’s attorney general, a position she utilized to crack down on gun ownership. She oversaw Gov. Jerry Brown’s 2013 firearms proscription in which $24 million was set aside for the purpose of impounding guns. According to a Los Angeles Times report at the time, state officials’ justification for doing so was “to clear the backlog of weapons known to be in the hands of about 20,000 people who acquired them legally [emphasis added]. They were later disqualified because of criminal convictions, restraining orders or serious mental illness.”

She also advocated for additional firearm restrictions, writes Reason’s Brian Doherty: “As attorney general, Harris tried to ensure that people couldn’t get carry permits for weapons in California merely for reasons as petty, to her mind, as that they felt they needed one. She has fought in court to ensure that only police officials should be able to decide whether a citizen can defend himself outside his home.”

The Bundys and an Egregious Case of Prosecutorial Misconduct

In a stunning development further underscoring the corruption that exists at the highest levels of the federal government, U.S. District Judge Gloria M. Navarro threw out felony conspiracy and weapons charges against rancher Cliven Bundy, sons Ammon and Ryan, and co-defendant Ryan Payne. “The government’s conduct in this case was indeed outrageous,” Navarro explained. “There has been flagrant misconduct, substantial prejudice and no lesser remedy is sufficient.”

How outrageous? Navarro dismissed the case “with prejudice” — meaning the government cannot try the case again on the same charges. And in a 30-minute explanation, the Barack Obama-appointed jurist ripped the conduct of the prosecutors and the FBI. She blasted the Nevada U.S. Attorney’s Office for willful violations of due process that included several misrepresentations to both defense attorneys and the court that showed “a reckless disregard for the constitutional obligation to seek and provide evidence.”

She was also troubled by the prosecutors’ “failure to look beyond the FBI file,” which she characterized as an “intentional abdication of its responsibility,” and wondered aloud how the FBI itself “inexplicably placed” or “perhaps hid” a tactical operations log referring to the presence of snipers outside Bundy’s home on a “thumb drive inside a vehicle for three years.”

Navarro also blasted prosecutors’ assertions that they weren’t aware such documents could help the defendants as “grossly shocking.” “The government was well aware of theories of self-defense, provocation and intimidation,” Navarro stated. “Here the prosecution has minimized the extent of prosecutorial misconduct.”

Marshal who violently arrested teacher faced previous lawsuit over excessive force

ABBEVILLE, La. — The city marshal who handcuffed and arrested a Louisiana teacher in videos that sparked internet outrage was a defendant in a lawsuit alleging excessive force in 2011.

Reggie Hilts, now a marshal in Abbeville, was a police officer in the city of Scott when the incident occurred. He and another officer were accused in a federal lawsuit of slamming an ailing 62-year-old man’s head on a concrete slab during an arrest.

The officers denied excessive force was used. They said the man was uncooperative and resisted arrest after city crews were dispatched to cut grass and weeds on his property.

The suit, filed in 2012, was settled in 2016. The Scott police chief said Hilts left the department in November 2011 for reasons having nothing to do with the incident.

Hilts, who works as a school resource officer at J.H. Williams Middle School in Vermilion Parish, hasn’t spoken publicly about the Monday arrest of Deyshia Hargrave. Vermilion Parish Schools Superintendent Jerome Puyau told The Associated Press that Hilts is also a local pastor.

“He’s a very good guy, he’s a pastor, respectable citizen here, and is well-respected in the community,” Puyau said. “Students and teachers love him.”

John McCain Stays Silent on Involvement in Hoax Trump Dossier After Fusion GPS Revelations

TEL AVIV — For the past three days, Sen. John McCain’s office has not responded to Breitbart News phone and email inquiries seeking clarification of the Arizona politician’s role in delivering the infamous, largely discredited 35-page dossier on President Donald Trump to the U.S. intelligence community under the Obama administration.

Report: Biggest Source of Planned Parenthood Revenue Is U.S. Taxpayers

In its most recent annual report, abortion giant Planned Parenthood has revealed that its number one source of revenue in 2017 was government funds taken from the pockets of American taxpayers to the tune of a half billion dollars.

Under the title of “Government Health Services Reimbursements & Grants,” Planned Parenthood acknowledged taking in a whopping $544 million of tax dollars during the course of the year, with a massive excess of revenues over expenses totaling close to $100 million. The 2017 excess revenue represented a 27 percent increase over the prior fiscal year, from $77.5 million to $98.5 million in surplus income.

Among its expenses, America’s largest abortion provider spent $47.9 million on sex education, $40 million on public policy and another $85.4 million on fundraising.

The group says it performed 321,384 abortions in the United States during 2017, making Planned Parenthood clinics the most lethal place in the nation for unborn babies.

The annual report displays a graph proclaiming Planned Parenthood court victories “won to protect and expand access to safe and legal abortion.”

18 indicted in Maryland prison corruption case

State prosecutor Emmet Davitt announced Thursday that six inmates and 10 outside facilitators also have been indicted.

The charges include conspiracy to distribute controlled dangerous substances, conspiracy to commit bribery, bribery and the smuggling of contraband such as narcotics and cell phones.

The year-long investigation into corruption at the Jessup Correctional Facility was the result of a joint probe by the state prosecutor's office, a special investigative unit in the state corrections department and the Maryland State Police.

Authorities have been investigating prison corruption for years in Maryland. In November, 26 people were indicted in a separate case, including a correctional officer who served as a high-ranking gang member.

After Her Golden Globes Speech, James Woods Shared 3 Photos From Oprah’s Past

James Woods is one of very few celebrities who aren’t afraid to be vocal in their opinions of the left. It has left him as an outcast among his peers but that doesn’t seem to bother him a bit. In face, one could argue that it has emboldened him to go after the liberals who are so clearly in control of the entertainment industry.

So it is no surprise that he decided to take on the Golden Globes speeches which were primarily about empowering women to come out with their stories of sexual abuse. While the message might be one worth sharing, it was the messengers that the majority of America had a problem with.

James Woods focused on one woman in particular who seemed to get an abnormal amount of praise for her speech – Oprah. She did such a good job moving people with her words that many on the left called for her to run for the Presidency (despite the fact that they have spent the last two years complaining that Trump was just a Hollywood showpiece and didn’t qualify for the job.)

Democrats Expand 'Dreamer' Amnesty Plan to Include Millions of Parents

Senate Democrats claim they have developed a new bipartisan amnesty plan for young ‘dreamer’ illegals – but their plan also offers a quasi-amnesty to the illegal-immigrant parents who brought the 3.25 million ‘dreamer’ illegals into the United States.

The amnesty-plus plan was developed by Sen. Dick Durbin, with the cooperation of several pro-amnesty GOP Senators, including Colorado’s Sen. Cory Gardner, Arizona’s Sen. Jeff Flake and Sen. Lindsey Graham from South Carolina. The claims and details emerged Thursday when the Senators were questioned by reporters after the Senators’ usual Thursday lunchtime meetings.

In an afternoon statement, the Senators claimed:

President Trump called on Congress to solve the DACA challenge. We have been working for four months and have reached an agreement in principle that addresses border security, the diversity visa lottery, chain migration/family reunification, and the Dream Act-the areas outlined by the President. We are now working to build support for that deal in Congress.

The announcement comes one day after President Donald Trump formally backed a newimmigration and amnesty bill drafted by four GOP leaders.

India's Gay Prince To Open His Palace To LGBTQ People In Need

India's only openly gay prince has announced plans to open up his ancestral palace to Indians who have been ostracized for their sexuality or gender identity.

Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil — likely heir to the throne of Rajpipla in the western state of Gujarat — says his center will help provide vulnerable LGBTQ people with the security that typically comes from one's family.

"I want to give people social and financial empowerment, so eventually people who want to come out won't be affected [negatively]," he told the International Business Times. "It won't make a difference if they are disinherited."

After Gohil's coming out made international headlines in 2006, his mother took out a newspaper advertisement publicly disowning him. People burned his effigies in Rajpipla.

"People still face a lot of pressure from their families when they come out, being forced to marry, or thrown out of their homes," Gohil told the Thomson Reuters Foundation. "They often have nowhere to go, no means to support themselves."

Pelosi mocks 'white guys' leading DACA talks, prompting Hoyer anger

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., took a shot at immigration negotiations involving her top deputy, Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, slamming them as “the five white guys” -- and drawing a rebuke from Hoyer himself.

Speaking at her weekly press conference, Pelosi complained that the immigration talks did not include any minority members of Congress which she said was done intentionally to delay any agreement “since it would need sign-off from the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and others.”

The California Democrat compared the group of men, including Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn, R-Texas, Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin, D-Ill., House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., and White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, to the popular hamburger and fry chain Five Guys.

Red Robin - Eliminates Bussers due to Min. Wage Hike

At the beginning of January, minimum wage increases took effect in 18 states and 20 citiesacross the nation, and some industries are struggling to keep pace with rising labor costs.

Late Monday, casual dining chain Red Robin Gourmet Burgers (RRGB) announced that it would eliminate bus boys at 570 restaurant locations, a move that is expected to save the company an estimated $8 million over the course of the coming year. The company’s chief financial officer said the decision was made in order to “address the labor increases we’ve seen.”

“I read that as minimum wage,” Michael Saltsman, director of the Employment Policies Institute (EPI), told FOX Business. “Somebody like Red Robin, which has a lot of exposure in western states [where the minimum wage is rising faster] … this is sort of a burger and beer chain. If they can’t pass those increases off in higher prices … they have to find a way to do more with less.”

Baltimore teens charged for allegedly attacking elderly man, driving over him with his own car

Four teens in Baltimore County have been arrested after police allege they brutally attacked an elderly man and drove over him with his own car before they stole it.

The teens — Darian Maurice Hicks, 16; Taizjuan Eliza Waddell, 16; and Kimani William Graham, 16 — were arrested earlier this week by authorities in Baltimore, WJZ-TV reported.

The victim, identified as 69-year-old Jim Willinghan, was “violently attacked” around 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 3, according to The Baltimore Sun.

Willinghan reportedly told police he was getting something from the trunk of his Buick LaSabre when two cars sped past him. The two vehicles then allegedly turned around and sped toward him, before the teens got out of their cars to threaten him.

Why Dissolving the Election Fraud Commission Is a True Loss for the Nation

This week, the White House announced the sudden, disappointing news that the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity was being dissolved.

Liberal advocacy groups, which for months have worked to obstruct the group’s efforts to examine the integrity and security of the ballot box, ecstatically declared victory. But their win is a loss for the nation, which remains blind to the true breadth and scope of fraud in American elections.

As if to emphasize that point, The Heritage Foundation has once again added a slew of new cases to its election fraud database.

Accounting for the new entries, the database now lists 1,107 verified instances of fraud, including 961 criminal convictions of proven fraudsters, 48 cases that ended in civil penalties, 76 cases that resulted in defendants entering diversion programs, and 22 that ended with either a judicial or official finding of fraud.

A Viewer Writes: Chicken Sewage Spill

We are just now hearing something about a supposedly 400,000 gal. sewage spill at the old Allen food chicken plant in Cordova that happened a couple days ago.

All citizens are hearing is that our water system hear might be contaminated but officials are not giving any of us any info at this time.

I was wondering if you could look into this for we really don't want to end up like a flint Michigan situation here too.

I follow your site every day so thought you could possibly shed some light on this mater.

Woman returns dead Christmas tree much to other customers' surprise

Costco's magnanimous return policy was severely tested last week in Santa Clarita, Calif., when a woman returned her Christmas tree to the big-box store and asked for a full refund "because it was dead."

And even though Yule fur trees are pretty much dead once you chop them down a month or so before Christmas, she got her refund, according to another customer.

Scott Bentley was so outraged the woman's chutzpah, he posted a photo he took of her along with his commentary on Facebook.

"I can't make this stuff up," Bentley wrote. "Woman in line at Costco, totally nonchalant, to return her Christmas tree 'because it is dead' on January 4.

"If I didn't see it, I wouldn't believe that someone had so little morel [sic] values or lack of conscience."

Law Enforcement Need To Crack Down On This Scam

A quick internet search delivers an amazing volume, (locally) of formula available in large quantities. Your tax dollars hard at work Folks.

Local Baby Formula Scam

I keep seeing people selling formula on facebook. It makes me wonder. Most people don't go out and buy that many cans at once. Those cans are not cheap. I priced them on Amazon and you can get 6 cans for about $100. There are 10 cans in the picture. So why is someone trying to sell them online? Why not just take it back to the store she bought it from and exchange it if the child is now using another formula. Well some stores have caught on to the scam that is being played. They use food stamps or wic to buy the formula and then return it to the store to try to either get money back or store credit. I found this out about a month ago when I tried to return a food product at Walmart that was spoiled when I opened it. They wouldn't even allow me store credit which is what usually happens when you don't have a receipt. I had to get the same exact item that I was returning. I asked them why and they said because of the EBT card. After that it made sense why I was seeing people selling formula. So do you think these are just people that bought the wrong formula or are these people abusing the system?

Heads up to Toys R Us. You are losing money! Giving store credit to someone that didn't buy the product from you.

A Viewer Writes: Good Deeds Don't Go Unnoticed

What can you say about our friends except 'Thanks for being there when we needed you the most'! Perdue Farms saved the shelter $1,000's of dollars of frozen food when our compressors went on the blink. When they heard we were in need, they did not hesitate and found a way to send a freezer truck to sit in the lot for a week! All our frozen foods were transferred to the truck by our male guests through the dining room windows. It was a sight to behold as each carried boxes and boxes of frozen foods to the window to be transferred to the truck. Then when the compressor was fixed, Perdue sent a driver back, hooked up the truck and left. Surely God will bless those who bless the least of these, the homeless and less fortunate! Again, thank you Perdue!

Governor Hogan says term limits will cure Annapolis; experience in other states says they won't

Gov. Larry Hogan says instituting term limits for legislators will reduce partisanship, prevent gerrymandering, stifle corruption, increase accountability and return Annapolis to the founders’ vision of democracy. He didn’t specifically mention it, but we suppose it will also lead to fresher breath, whiter whites and peace in the Middle East. Term limits are not a new idea; more than 20 states have adopted them at one point or another, mostly starting in the 1990s. But they have fallen out of favor in recent years for a simple reason: They don’t accomplish any of the things Governor Hogan or other backers of the idea promise, and they come with some unexpected and unwelcome side effects.

Publishers Notes: For what it's worth, Wicomico Council President John Cannon refuses to support term limits in Wicomico County, that's a fact. How else would the good ol' boys remain in control.

Turning a blind eye to corruption in the Maryland Senate

Thomas V. Mike Miller needs to stop acting like Nathaniel Oaks’ lawyer and start acting like the president of the Maryland Senate. It’s good that Mr. Miller — begrudgingly, belatedly — will ask the General Assembly’s ethics committee to investigate the federal corruption and obstruction charges against Senator Oaks. But his continued insistence that any legislative action should be subservient to the criminal proceedings is not only wrong, it diminishes the integrity of an institution he professes to revere.

Sexual Predator Harvey Weinstein Attacked and Hit In The Face TWICE While Leaving Restaurant By Angry Man

Poor Harvey Weinstein. A sexual predator can’t even eat in peace these days. He was at a posh restaurant in Arizona on Tuesday night, where he proceeded to get two bashes to his face by some guy. TMZ reported that this guy, who’s name is Steve, strolled up to Harvey as he was leaving Elements restaurant at the Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort in Scottsdale and punched him twice right in his perverted mug.

Of course, people took a video of the encounter. That’s prime stuff right there for social media. The person that got the best video is now shopping it around for $100,000. Don’t you just love capitalism? Except that what happened was that Harvey got slapped, not punched when you watch the video. Somehow, being slapped for a guy is so much more humiliating than being punched. It’s just not macho. Rose McGowan is smiling somewhere. What’s even worse is his assailant was laughing at him. He deserved that just for wearing a black beanie hat and a soiled sweatshirt to that wonderful restaurant.
