FBI: Hacker claimed to have taken over flight's engine controls

(CNN) A cybersecurity consultant told the FBI he hacked into computer systems aboard airliners up to 20 times and managed to control an aircraft engine during a flight, according to federal court documents.

Chris Roberts was detained by the FBI in April following a United Airlines flight to Syracuse, New York, after officials saw Twitter posts he made discussing hacking into the plane he was traveling on.

An FBI search warrant application filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York describes the investigation of Roberts for possible computer crimes.

Obama: LGBT rights are human rights

A full month ahead of what the White House has declared LGBT Pride Month, President Obama and the first lady are honoring the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT) – May 17 – by saying LGBT rights are “human rights” and that “all people deserve to live free from fear, violence, and discrimination, regardless of who they are or whom they love.”

In a statement released by the White House, Obama addressed workplace discrimination for LGBT employees and the rights of transgender individuals, and he also acknowledged the importance of LGBT rights overseas.

“Overseas, I am proud of the steps that the United States has taken to prioritize the protection and promotion of LGBT rights in our diplomacy and global outreach,” the statement read.

IDAHOT comes just weeks ahead of pride season this June and the Supreme Court’s highly-anticipated decision on national marriage equality, and just days ahead of a key vote in Ireland. There, Irish voters will head to the polls on Friday, May 22 to decide if the country’s constitution should be changed to make way for marriage equality. If the country votes in favor of same-sex marriage, it will be the first nation to grant couples marrying rights by referendum.

“This day and every day, the United States stands in solidarity with members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community and all those around the world who work to advance the unassailable principle that LGBT rights are human rights,” National Security Advisor Susan Rice said in a statement.

Fact: The last Republican mayor of Baltimore City left office in 1967. That is 48 years of unbroken control of the mayor's office.

Fact: The Maryland Senate is currently 33 Democrats to 14 Republicans.

Fact: The Maryland House is currently 90 Democrats to 50 Republicans.

Fact: The last time Republicans held both the Maryland Senate and the Maryland House of Delegates was 1897.

Fact: The last time Republicans held even one chamber of the Maryland General Assembly--the House--was 1917.

That is unbroken Democrat control of the Maryland legislature since 1918--or nearly a century of Democrat control.

Fact: 7 out of 8 members of the Maryland delegation in the U.S. House are Democrats.

Fact: The last Republican U.S. senator from Maryland was elected in 1980.

Fact: It was Baltimore’s Democrat mayor, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, who said: “I’ve made it very clear that I worked with the police and instructed them to do everything that they could to make sure that the protesters were able to exercise their right to free speech.

"It's a very delicate balancing act. Because while we tried to make sure that they were protected from the cars and other things that were going on, we also gave those who wished to destroy space to do that as well. And we worked very hard to keep that balance and to put ourselves in the best position to de-escalate."

Baltimore Riots Trigger Debate Over Wildly Divergent Knife Laws

A few miles off in any direction, and the debate about the knife involved in Freddie Gray's arrest by Baltimore police may have been completely different.

The state of Maryland has one set of laws governing knives. The city of Baltimore has its own rules. Caught in the middle are people like Gray, who probably have no idea whether carrying a legally purchased knife can lead to criminal charges.

A conflict between laws about knives is not unique to Maryland. Nationwide, knife laws vary in neighboring towns, counties, cities and states. This mishmash makes it difficult for citizens to comply.

"How's a person supposed to know what the law is, and how are they supposed to know that there's a difference in the law" between jurisdictions, said Jan Billeb, executive director of the American Knife & Tool Institute, which advocates for greater knife rights in the United States.

Between 2012 and 2014, Baltimore averaged four homicides and 183 aggravated assaults "with edged weapons," which would include knives, compared with 23 homicides and 109 aggravated assaults with firearms, according to data posted by the city on its website.

During encounters with police, civil rights activists say, black men tend to fall victim to confusion over knife laws. In fact, Gray is among a handful of African-Americans to die in Baltimore in recent years after a police encounter that involved a knife or an edged weapon.

A Multi-Millionaire's Personal Blueprint For Surviving the Coming Currency Collapse:

"This is what I'm doing to protect my family and my finances -
I recommend you do the same."

Dear Fellow American,

Do you believe America's financial problems from 2008 have been fixed?

Do you think we'll have another banking crisis in the next few years, or a problem with our currency?

If you are concerned about these possibilities, you are not alone.

After all: What we are witnessing in America today is unprecedented.

Our government has embarked on a gross, out-of-control experiment, expanding the money supply 400% in just six years, and more than doubling our national debt since 2006.

It took our nation 216 years to rack up the first $8.5 trillion in debt... then just 8 more years to double that amount.

And this is precisely why so many questions about the economy and our future remain. For example...

Why has there been very little inflation thus far? How will we possibly pay back all this debt?

And of course, perhaps the most important question of all: Why has nothing "bad" happened after our government printed more than $4 trillion new dollars out of thin air and borrowed $9.4 trillion more?

Well, as someone who has been investigating this situation closely for years, who has built a $100 million business by capitalizing on expertise in finance and accounting... I am here to tell you with 100% certainty:

America is in for some major changes to our economy, our country, and our very way of life over the next five years.

The way you live, work, travel, retire, invest... everything is going to change. Some of it in ways most people would never expect.

Some time in the next few years, we will experience a "new" crisis of epic proportions.

We're going to have a major stock market crash - and it will be worse than the one we experienced seven years ago.

We're going to have a currency crisis too - because investors and governments around the world will realize the U.S. dollar is not the safe haven it once was.

Sooner than most people think, we'll see the U.S. dollar lose it's "reserve currency" status, and this will make it much harder for our government to borrow money, and have our military stationed in more than 150 countries.

As my friend James Rickards (who's a financial lawyer and consultant for the U.S. government) wrote in his book Currency Wars:

"If the currency collapses, everything else goes with it... stocks, bonds, commodities, derivatives and other investments are all priced in a nation's currency. If you destroy the currency, you destroy all markets and the nation."

We're going to have massive changes to our retirement system and Social Security. We're likely to see huge tax increases and even a "wealth tax," which levies a fee on all your savings and any assets of value.

We're going to see all kinds of new laws and rules about what you can do with your money, just like House of Representatives bill H.R. 2847, which went into effect July 1, 2014. This law made it extremely difficult, if not possible, for the average American to get some of his money out of U.S. dollars, and into more stable currencies via foreign banks. In the months and years to come we're going to see more and more of these "capital controls" placed on our personal savings... We're going to have a massive inflation - when the trillions and trillions of newly printed dollars begin making their way into the economy.

We'll also witness major changes to the very fabric of our society. Destroying a nations' money in this manner wrecks businesses, friendships, and families, who simply don't understand and aren't prepared for what will happen.

Believe me, I don't take these predictions lightly - and I have no interest in trying to scare you.

I'm simply following my research to its logical conclusion.

STATES SAYING ‘NO’ TO CITIES SEEKING TO REGULATE BUSINESSES

Potential patchwork of local regulations could be bad for the economy

State lawmakers across the country are increasingly saying “no” to cities and counties seeking to impose local restrictions on businesses.

In the past five years, roughly a dozen states have enacted laws barring local governments from requiring businesses to provide paid sick leave to employees. And the number of states banning local minimum wages has grown to 15.

The state pre-emption laws affect issues both big and small, such as local restrictions on oil drilling and seed planting. Some states have banned local bans on plastic bags, restaurant meal toys and sugary drinks.

In each case, states have stepped in after city officials somewhere proposed local policies that business leaders didn’t like. Businesses have warned that a potential patchwork of local regulations could be bad for the economy.

Absolute Proof Liberalism is a Mental Disorder

Mitt Romney falls to Evander Holyfield after two rounds

No surprise here: Mitt Romney lost his first-ever boxing match to renowned boxer Evander Holyfield Friday night.

The former presidential hopeful and the heavyweight champ went two rounds, with Romney — dubbed “The Glove” — winning the first one and Holyfield being declared the winner after the second.

“As you can tell, I’m not a boxer — don’t laugh so hard, c’mon,” Romney joked with the crowd after the bout, which was all an elaborate entertainment event to benefit CharityVision. The charity, run by Romney’s son Josh, performs pro-bono surgeries to help blind people around the world.

Romney really got into the sport of it, taking the ring to the strains of “I Will Survive” along with wife Ann Romney, who sported a sideways baseball cap. Mike Leavitt, the former Utah governor who likely would have been a President Romney’s chief of staff, led the charge — and when it came time to fight, he theatrically stripped Romney of a suit and tie so he could box shirtless.

Anti-LGBT laws harm children, too

Fifteen years ago, I helped interview some 140 gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students in seven U.S. states about their day-to-day life in middle and high school. We heard grim reports of unchecked verbal abuse escalating into violence and of school administrators’ deliberate indifference when abuses were brought to their attention.

One lesson of that investigation was that laws, even when rarely enforced, can send a powerful message. Many teachers told us, with great shame, that they feared losing their jobs if they protected their students from attacks.

One reason was that in 2000, some states had laws on the books criminalizing gay and lesbian sex between consenting adults. Even if people were hardly ever prosecuted under those laws, they could be used to fire gay men and lesbians or withdraw job offers.

More generally, most state and local non-discrimination laws didn’t, and unfortunately still don’t, cover sexual orientation and gender identity. As a result, teachers feared they’d be presumed to be gay themselves if they tried to put a stop to anti-gay bullying, putting their jobs at risk.

Clinton’s wealth under fire again ahead of Iowa trip

Hillary Clinton’s wealth is under fire again after new disclosure forms revealed that she and her husband made $30 million since January of last year.

The bulk of that money — in excess of $25 million — came from more than 100 paid speaking engagements Bill and Hillary Clinton gave during the past 16 months, averaging at more than $250,000 per speech. Hillary Clinton also earned more than $5 million in royalties from her 2014 book “Hard Choices,” while Bill Clinton earned at least $45,000 in royalties on his books.

The figures came in personal finance disclosure forms filed with the Federal Election Commission Friday night, the deadline for candidates to file this paperwork with the FEC. The timing, though, has led many to assume Clinton hoped to avoid media scrutiny by releasing the information after most reporters left for the weekend.

On Monday, Clinton will return to Iowa for events aimed at highlighting what she would do to help small businesses if elected president. As Clinton she ramps up her second presidential campaign, the former secretary of state has tried to introduce herself as a champion of the middle class and “everyday Americans,” but her wealth has repeatedly complicated that message.

The filings also revealed, for instance, that the former secretary of state made close to $12 million from 51 speeches, while the former president fetched a slightly higher value on the 53 speeches he gave, for a total of more than $13 million.

A Viewer Writes: Dragalicious Drag Show??

"Dragalicious Drag Show"  See what Jim Ireton has brought to Salisbury! This is embarrassing that our local bars are turning into gay Pride Nights and Drag Shows.
https://www.facebook.com/WarehouseBarSalisbury/photos  Then I checked out some of the pictures they posted and this person is the one putting on the show and "Liked" their own picture. I clicked on their link to see who they were and this is the information on it's Facebook page.

Fefe Ladada - Head Meat Inspector at Dick's Meat Market
Lives -  In Rehoboth Beach Delaware

WORK
"Head Meat Inspector at Dick's Meat Market" How disgusting and Jim Ireton and Jake Day brag about closing the Red Light District down?? Fefe Ladada is the person performing and bringing the shows to Salisbury and they are very disgusting. Your friend Ryan Stevenson who used to make numerous comments on SBYNews.com is on Fefe Ladada's Facebook page making a comment that he want's his picture on the flyer because he is doing the spotlight. Then he posts a half naked picture of himself begging it to use it. I am extremely disgusted at what Jim Ireton and Jake Day are doing to Salisbury. Posing as good stewards trying to take credit for shutting down a business and then allowing this half porn show to come to Salisbury. You should check out their facebook pages and you will see that this crap is not family friendly, but outright disgusting!

Have you ever heard of this bar in Salisbury? I saw the first flyer posted on a friends page and it was connected to The Brick Room so I checked it out and this is the next date for "Pride Night" at another bar in Salisbury and connected to 3rd Friday. This is proof of what Jim Ireton and 3rd Friday is all about and I always thought 3rd Friday had a gay flavor to it. I believe it is their intent to make downtown and all of Salisbury the Gay Capital of the East Coast.

Rick Pollitt Hired As New Town Manager of Crisfield

As if Crisfield doesn't have enough of their own problems, Pollitt was unanimously voted in by their Council.
Beer, crabs, a company car, free gas and a depressed community, it's a perfect job for this guy. Obviously Crisfield doesn't give a crap about past history or a proven track record. I also didn't realize there was so much Joy Jelly in Crisfield.

Underdog Luke Rommel Files ANOTHER Lawsuit Against City of Salisbury

While Mayor Jimmy Ireton is screaming at the top of his lungs, WHY MEEEE!!!! Rommel has filed yet another lawsuit against the City charging the very same Salisbury Police Officer assaulted several more individuals.

States Attorney Matt Maciarello sat with Police Chief Barbara Duncan and viewed video footage and immediately said, I'm NOT prosecuting this case and the charges were immediately dropped.

What's not been stated publicly, (other then Salisbury News) is that Officer Aita is no longer with the Salisbury Police Department. What's also not been stated is that Rommel has been winning each and every case. Instead, Mayor Jimmy Ireton continues to act like a fool by stating he wants to know WHY Rommel has it out for the City. HELLO JIMMY, the mere fact that Rommel keeps winning, (what, SEVEN cases so far) proves that he is doing so because this Officer is obviously out of line.

Well Jimmy, let's also say that it was one of your SISTERS being attacked by a Police Officer. Just because many of these people are BLACK, doesn't mean they don't have the same RIGHTS as one of your sisters.

I say GOD BLESS the Luke Rommel's of the Shore who are willing to stick their necks on the line for the most UNPOPULAR cases with clients who can't afford the RIGHT kind of representation. Then, (of course) there's the PRESS who regularly shies away from bucking the system by exposing rogue cops or municipal improprieties.

I've said it from day one, you want a great Lawyer, call Luke Rommel. He's not a pit bull. He's a genuine good guy who wants to do what is right and fair. And who's left out of these discussions, the honorable Judges who decide the outcome of such cases. What I see is, there's no Good Ol' Boys in the Wicomico judicial system. These men and women deserve to be recognized.

Salisbury Police Officer In Accident On Business Rt. 50 Moments Ago

This is the FOURTH local law enforcement vehicle accident in the past week.

SALISBURY POLICE OFFICER TOLD RESIGN OR BE FIRED?

After a multitude of lawsuits filed over the past several months, the Salisbury Police Officer involved was allegedly told, resign or be fired. Either way, he is no longer with the Salisbury Police Department.

It's also been reported that Salisbury Police Chief Barbara Duncan is denying she asked the Officer to resign or he would be terminated. "CYA" in this case has a double meaning. 1, See Ya. 2, Cover Your A$$.

Obama Could Become Supreme Court Justice After Presidency

Rumors advocates that Obama is planning to join the Supreme Court after his presidency is over.

Obama served as president of the Harvard Law Review and taught constitutional law at the UNIVERSITY of Chicago.

While campaigning back in 2008, Obama himself said that the best justices historically have been former politicians. According to The Washington Post, he listed three-time California governor Earl Warren as his judicial hero.

“We need somebody who’s got the heart, the empathy, to recognize what it’s like to be a young teenage mom,” Obama said of his ideal Supreme Court Justice, clearly thinking he displays these qualities. “The empathy to understand what it’s like to be poor, or African American, or gay, or disabled, or old.”

Obama could end up like President William Howard Taft, who became chief justice of the Supreme Court after leaving the White House.

What do you think of the possibility of Obama joining the Supreme Court?

O’Malley: Americans in cities worse off than 8 years ago

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Close to a presidential announcement, Martin O’Malley said Wednesday that many Americans living in cities are worse off than they were eight years ago and Democrats in Washington wasted a chance to address poverty in the nation’s urban areas.

In appearances in New Hampshire on Wednesday, O’Malley did not did not mention President Barack Obama by name but said pointedly that Democrats have missed opportunities to make investments in cities while in control of the White House and when they controlled Congress. The former Baltimore mayor and former Maryland governor said the economic problems exposed by Baltimore’s recent riots showed the need for new approaches to rebuild cities.

“We’ve created whole swaths of Americans, particularly in American cities, who are worse off now than they were eight years ago,” O’Malley said. “When people are unheard, when their country’s economy treats them like they’re unnecessary, like they’re unwanted, like they’re unneeded, this sort of anger erupts.”

Two correctional officers charged for looting 7-11 during riots

Two correctional officers have been suspended without pay for their involvement in looting during the Baltimore riots surrounding the in-custody death of Freddie Gray.

The correctional officers, 29-year-old Tamika Cobb and 28-year-old Kendra Richard, were charged on Wednesday with theft and burglary and are being processed at Central Booking following an investigation. Both were charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary and theft of less than $1,000 value.

The charges come after the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services officers and the Intelligence and Investigative Division detectives received a tip on April 30 about Cobb and Richard allegedly looting.

Amtrak Train Was Traveling More Than 100 MPH As It Approached A Curve

WASHINGTON - An Amtrak train that derailed in Philadelphia killing seven people was traveling more than 100 mph as it approached a curve where the speed limit is just 50 mph, federal investigators said.

Robert Sumwalt, a National Transportation Safety Board member, said that a preliminary review determined the train was traveling 106 mph as the engineer applied the emergency brake about 9:20 p.m.Tuesday. Three seconds later, just before the entire train derailed, the train had slowed to 102 mph.

The train should have been traveling just 50 mph as it entered the curve, Sumwalt said.

Safety measures that prevent a train from exceeding posted limits, known as positive train controls, were not installed along the track. The NTSB has called for the installation of such controls for years and Congress has mandated that the systems be implemented by the end of the year, Sumwalt said.

‘Off-the-Grid’ Parents Lose Custody of 10 Kids

Following a Monday court hearing, a Kentucky couple living what they call a “simple, back-to-basics life” in a rural, off-the-grid shack has lost custody, at least temporarily, of their 10 children. Joe and Nicole Naugler — who are expecting an 11th child in October — will remain under investigation by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS), while their kids, ranging in age from 3 months to 15 years old, will stay in the agency’s custody.

“Although we are sad our children will not be returned to us today, we have nothing to hide,” Joe Naugler wrote on the family’s Facebook page, Blessed Little Homestead. “We have cooperated with all requests made to us by CHFS and will continue to do so. We are confident that throughout this process, Nicole and I will be shown to be the good parents that we are and that our family will be reunited.”

The court’s decision came several days after authorities removed the children from their home, following an anonymous police complaint about the family’s living conditions — which allegedly include residing under a crude tarp construction, having no heat or running water, and having no septic system (which the Nauglers dispute). But many of their supporters believe they’re being targeted for their lifestyle, which includes living off the power grid, birthing children at home, and relying on “unschooling,” which is a less structured approach to homeschooling.

Md.'s Tubman wins ballot for place on $20 bill

Voters have spoken, and Maryland's own Harriet Tubman, who led slaves to freedom on the Underground Railroad, should replace President Andrew Jackson as the face of the $20 bill.

The organization Women on 20s conducted the online campaign to get a woman's face on paper money in time for the 2020 centennial of their right to vote. Secretary of the Treasury Jacob Lew can make the change on his own authority. President Barack Obama is on record as supporting a change, and there are bills in both houses of Congress that would establish committees to study such a change.

"I think it will happen, I really do," said the group's executive director, Susan Ades Stone. "There is a strong feeling that this is overdue. It is very hard to make an argument against it."

Billy Graham's Daughter Issues 'Mayday'

The daughter of America’s most famous evangelist, Billy Graham, says God is “clearly warning that His judgment is coming on America, and it’s going to be ugly.”

So, Ann Graham Lotz is calling on Americans to participate in a “Mayday” time of prayer and intercession May 15-23.

She hopes to “delay or soften God’s judgment that is coming on America and our world” and urge the Holy Spirit to “compel the church to repent of sin and our nation to return to faith in the living God.”

Lotz’s warnings are startlingly specific.

In a recent message on her website, she said she believes Jesus “is soon to return to take all of His followers to Heaven with Him in what is referred to as The Rapture.”

“Institutions will collapse. Banks will close,” Lotz wrote. “The stock market will plunge. Planes will fall out of the sky. Cars will crash on the road. Government in America at every level will disintegrate. Families will be torn apart.

“In the unprecedented turmoil, our nation will be vulnerable for our enemies to seize the moment and attack us. There will be mass chaos, confusion, fear, grief, despair, anger, threats, danger … judgment.”

The Family Research Council is among the Christian groups promoting the prayer campaign. FRC Chaplain Pierre Bynum wrote, “Please take Anne’s call to heart.”

I Received A Very Interesting Call Moments Ago

A few minutes ago I received a phone call from a woman in Nevada. I answered the phone and she said, I'd like to speak to a black reporter please. I replied, we don't have a black reporter here, how can I help you. Somewhat shocked she said, I was told you had a black reporter who is a news anchor. I said, Mam, you must be talking about Paul Butler, he works as WBOC. I said, may I ask what this is in reference to. This was her reply.

I'd like to get a reporter to check into why a local jail, there doesn't have their air conditioning system working. I replied, more then likely because it hasn't been hot enough to run air conditioning until today. She said, it hasn't? I said, no Mam, today will be our first really hot day and it will only last for one day. I asked, how long has the A/C system been down. She replied, three weeks now. I said, it hasn't been hot enough.

The problem I have with this caller is, one, WHY does she need a black reporter? Two, why are the inmates complaining that it's too hot when it really hasn't been that hot the past three weeks.

I gave her Paul Butler's contact information and I went on to say, it sounds like the person complaining is a bit spoiled. The temperatures have been averaging in the 70's and she said, you don't run air conditioning in the 70's? No Mam, I replied. She said, but you have humidity there, can't they relocate the prisoners until they fix the air conditioners. I replied, I highly doubt they'd even consider it. Besides, the people that work there would love to make sure their A/C system is up and running, so I'm sure it will be operating soon enough.

You know, I think about the young men and women that have served our country and become POW's. I think about the conditions they were subjected to and then I reflect back to this phone conversation. All I can say is, God Bless our Soldiers and Veterans, some of us have NOT forgotten and others need to shut the hell up.

By the way, she was complaining about the Wicomico Detention Center.

LATEST HEAT INFORMATION FOR WICOMICO STUDENTS IN SCHOOLS WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING

Heat Information for Wicomico Students in Schools without Air Conditioning: Bennett Middle, West Salisbury, East Salisbury

With the predicted return of hot weather this week, Wicomico County Public Schools would like to remind Wicomico school families of the excused absence option for students attending schools that are not fully air conditioned.

When the forecasted high temperature for the day exceeds 85 degrees, parents and guardians may choose to have their child not attend that day – or to be signed out early – if the child attends Bennett Middle, West Salisbury Elementary, or East Salisbury Elementary.

Upon the student’s return to school, parents and guardians must provide a note naming the heat as the reason for the absence or early dismissal, in order for the absence to be excused. Students are allowed to make up work that they miss during any excused absence.

Every effort will be made to provide for the comfort of students who attend schools on hot days. Students may have water bottles in the classroom and are urged to wear attire that will keep them cooler while still meeting the dress code. In classrooms and hallways, fans keep the air moving, and lights are often shut off to create a more comfortable learning environment.

For further information, please contact your child’s school.

The Board of Education has put a priority on providing comfortable, air conditioned classrooms for students in all schools. These HVAC projects have been completed when the state and county provide requested funding. In recent years, school system HVAC and construction projects have brought full air conditioning to James M. Bennett High, Northwestern Elementary, and Pittsville Elementary and Middle.

Students have only four more weeks in the old Bennett Middle School; come August, students and staff will have air conditioning, technology, and other modern amenities in the new Bennett Middle in Fruitland. The replacement West Salisbury Elementary is the next school on Wicomico’s construction list, with students expected to move into air-conditioned swing space while the replacement school is being built. That will leave East Salisbury Elementary as the only school in the county without full air conditioning. East Salisbury has some air conditioned classrooms, and on hot days the school adjusts its building use to bring students down from the hotter second floor and fully utilize any air conditioned spaces, such as the media center.

RELOCATION OF BOARD OF EDUCATION CENTRAL OFFICES

I am aware of the Board of Education’s proposal to relocate their offices to a leased facility in Northwood Industrial Park. However, I do not have complete details on the associated financial implications.

The County Executive has minimal control over decisions made by the Board of Education whose members are appointed by the Governor. I can try to persuade, but can exercise no real oversight.

The County’s primary role is to provide funding to our public schools and that funding is largely mandated by State formulas.

I want to be assured that this proposed transaction will not have any negative impacts on classroom funding and/or other priority Board of Education Capital projects and I call upon the Board to provide the public with that reassurance.

The unrest in Baltimore moved Prince to record a song critical of the killing of young African-American men, a publicist for the artist said last week. The song mentions Michael Brown and Gray, who both died in police-related altercations.

"Does anyone hear us pray?

For Michael Brown or Freddie Gray

Peace is more than the absence of war."

Police Retraining

Now let me see if I have this right.
There's no guidance or discipline in the home.  The family situation is so unstable, 'Junior' doesn't even know where or to whom to send a Father's Day card.  Junior gets dumped into the education system where he is socially promoted because the overwhelmed school district can't deal with the undisciplined whelp.  Junior's major formative influences are 'gangsta' rap videos and a corresponding peer group of gangsta wannabes.
At age 18, Junior is turned loose on society carrying a bad attitude, a broken compass and little respect for authority.  Junior gets himself in big trouble with the law and meets dire consequences.   Then, the situation diagnosis is that the police need more training and understanding?
Pardon me for asking, but do you really believe this bullsh!t?

White Man Is Savagely Beaten by a Mob of 50 Black Teens Near Baltimore

A pack of young animals turns on a 61 year-old white man after he objects to two girls fighting on top of his car – it was a black mob of about 50 and they kicked and pummeled the man into a bloody mess. I’m surprised he survived – what I’m not surprised about is this happened in Baltimore. Home of the Freddie Gray riots and a hotbed of racism and hatred against whites and cops. This poor man will never be the same. They’ve arrested one 17 year-old male thug and one 15 year-old gangster female. They say they are going to arrest more – there were over 50… the police better get with it before some other white person gets beat to death. The videos below are horrific.
