U.S. Pays for Palestinian School Books that Glorify Terrorism, Promote Extremism

In a ghastly waste of taxpayer dollars, the U.S. government helps pay for Palestinian school books that glorify terrorism and promote extremism. The Palestinian Authority (PA) and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) uses the radical material to educate about 300,000 students in grades 1 through 11 at hundreds of schools in Gaza and the West Bank. The curriculum and inciting materials are largely funded by the U.S., which is by far the UNRWA’s biggest financial supporter.

As the UNRWA’s largest donor in 2017, Uncle Sam doled out a whopping $364 million, more than double the amount of the second-largest contributor, the European Union. The money helps provide millions of Palestinians throughout the Middle East with healthcare, food, schools and other vital services. Earlier this year the Trump administration slashed the funding by more than $300 million until the UNRWA, part of the famously corrupt United Nations, makes critical changes. The head of the UNRWA said in a mainstream news report that the shortfall in U.S. funding means there may not be enough money to re-open schools in August and September for the new academic year. Considering the PA curriculum that’s a good thing and likely part of the change that the Trump administration is seeking.

PA textbooks are radical, glorify martyrdom, demonize Israel, encourage war and teach children that Palestinian statehood can be achieved through violence. An in-depth analysis conducted by a research group that exposes intolerance in school textbooks found that the books “groom young Palestinians to sacrifice themselves to martyrdom,” promote the idea of a mass “return” to Israel, and “feature a radical Islamist, and occasionally, a Salafi worldview.” The probe found that inflammatory language is found in textbooks across the curriculum and that, besides eliminating Israel, the Palestinian curriculum routinely glorifies terrorism. Enraging passages and graphics from dozens of textbooks are included throughout the report. For instance, in a fifth-grade Arabic textbook jihad and martyrdom are celebrated as “the most important meanings of life.” A renowned Palestinian terrorist (Dala Mughrabi) responsible for the 1978 murder of 38 people—including 13 children—near Tel Aviv is described as a hero that students should be proud of.

Migrants Not Welcome: Austria Deploys Border Police After Asylum Situation Goes "Critical"

Days after Austria threatened to reinstate border checks, Austrian forces conducted border-security exercises on Monday in the border town of Spielfeld in preparation for a wave of 80,000 migrants expected to travel through the new "Balkan route" from Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Croatia to Western and Central Europe.

"A state which can't protect its borders when needed loses its credibility," said Interior Minister Herbert Kickl, who was in charge of the exercise along with Defence Minister Mario Kunasek. Over 500 Austrian policemen and 220 soldiers, including those in the new "Puma" unit took part in the drills, which included a display of "Black Hawk" helicopters and simulated border unrest in which cadets played unruly migrants.

Cash Smuggled to Terrorists in Middle East from U.S. Airport that Gave Somali Muslims Security Tours

Years after Judicial Watch exposed the Obama administration’s special behind-the-scenes tours for Somali Muslims at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, millions of dollars in cash are being smuggled weekly from the facility to the Middle East. Some of the money is being funneled to a region of Somalia that is controlled by the Al Shabaab terrorist group, according to a disturbing months-long investigation conducted by a national media outlet. “These cloak-and-dagger scenarios now happen almost weekly at MSP,” the probe found. “The money is usually headed to the Middle East, Dubai and points beyond. Sources said last year alone, more than $100 million in cash left MSP in carry-on luggage.” The investigation is based on public records and nearly a dozen government sources with direct knowledge of the scheme.

A national expert on the illicit cash transfers helped track where the money is going once it leaves Minneapolis stuffed in suitcases. His name is Glen Kerns, a former Seattle police detective who spent 15 years on the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) joint terrorist task force. Kerns discovered that some of the cash is being funneled to a part of Somalia dominated by Al Shabab, an Al Qaeda affiliate that has taken over many rural southern and central areas of the African nation. Kerns says some of the individuals sending large amounts of cash abroad receive taxpayer-funded government assistance in the United States. Sources interviewed for the story say it’s “welfare fraud,” mostly involving government-subsidized daycare. A separate investigation conducted by the same media outlet five years ago, uncovered huge daycare fraud in Minnesota that exposed how businesses were gaming the system to steal millions in government subsidies meant to help poor families with childcare expenses.

Hogan Administration Awards $22 Million for Chesapeake Bay Restoration Projects

18 Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays Trust Fund Grants Announced

ANNAPOLIS, MD -
The Hogan administration has awarded funding to 18 recipients through the Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays Trust Fund to improve the health of Maryland’s waterways. The Trust Fund allows Maryland to accelerate Chesapeake Bay restoration and improve water quality by focusing targeted financial investments and resources on the most efficient and cost-effective non-point source pollution control projects.

Trust Fund grants will provide funding to stream and wetland restoration, innovative stormwater management practices, riparian tree buffer plantings, and more in multiple counties across the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

“The Trust Fund serves as an example for the nation of how state funding can be strategically targeted to have measurable impacts on water quality and the quality of life of residents and visitors who enjoy our treasured Chesapeake Bay,” Governor Larry Hogan said. “These 18 implementation-ready projects, totaling $22 million of investments, will have a long-lasting, positive impact on the Bay and our environment and build on our historic investment in Bay restoration efforts.”

Governor Hogan has fully funded the Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays Trust Fund for three consecutive years – the first governor to do so – and has provided an unprecedented $4 billion for Chesapeake Bay restoration since taking office, demonstrating his administration’s commitment to Bay enhancement and protection, support for environmental education and literacy, and green careers and jobs. Governor Hogan also serves as the current chair of the Chesapeake Executive Council of the Chesapeake Bay Program, which establishes the policy direction for the restoration and protection of Chesapeake Bay.

“The Trust Fund allows the department to collaborate with our sister agencies and local champions and partners in government and nonprofit organizations to achieve a common goal, cleaner and healthier water,” Maryland Natural Resources Secretary Mark Belton said. “Through these innovative and pioneering partnerships, Maryland is realizing lower costs for the removal of nutrients and sediments, benefiting both the environment and taxpayers.”

The full list of Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays Trust Fund projects funded for Fiscal Year 2019 can be found here.

The Trust Fund is administered by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and guided by the Chesapeake Bay Cabinet and a governor-appointed scientific advisory panel. Staff works with local partners on stormwater infrastructure improvements and nature-based water quality improvements while employing the latest technologies and scientific knowledge. Since its creation in 2007, the Trust Fund has supported more than 2,200 projects, supporting approximately 2,600 jobs.

House to grill Christopher Wray, Rod Rosenstein over IG report on Clinton email investigation

FBI Director Christopher Wray and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein will testify Thursday at a hearing called by the House Judiciary Committee that will delve into a recent Department of Justice inspector general’s report on the department’s actions taken during the 2016 election.

According to a statement sent by the committee, Wray and Rosenstein will testify about the inspector general’s recent report concerning the handling of a probe of Hillary Clinton’s private email server.

The report, issued earlier this month, found several top FBI agents expressed political bias against Trump but that it did not impact “investigative decisions" related to the Clinton email investigation.

Democrats fear call to shame Trump admin officials will cost votes in midterms: report

Some Democrats are reportedly concerned that public appeals to “absolutely harass” Trump administration officials will come back to hurt them in the polls and benefit Republicans.

There have been several recent instances where Trump officials have been publically shamed, including Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen at a Mexican restaurantand White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, who was asked to leave by an owner of a restaurant in Virginia.

On Saturday, Florida Attorney General – and ardent Trump supporter – Pam Bondi was confronted by a group of protesters outside the screening of a documentary about Mister Rogers in Tampa. A video of the confrontation shows the Florida AG leaving the theater as several people yell at her, with one woman seen shouting at her about Bondi’s recent actions on health care policy and her stance on immigration.

The Washington Post’s editorial board wrote a column titled, “Let the Trump team eat in peace.” The paper identified the heightened state of “passions” in the country, but saw no benefit in protesters interrupting dinners.

America has lost the world's respect

When newly sworn-in President Trump stood before the Mall in Washington on Jan. 20, 2017, he promised renewal for a country battered and bruised from a divisive election, a country he promised could be made great once again.

"We, the citizens of America, are now joined in a great national effort to rebuild our country and to restore its promise for all of our people," Trump said. "Together, we will determine the course of America and the world for years to come. We will face challenges. We will confront hardships. But we will get the job done."

So how is America doing under Trump? As we approach Independence Day, the Washington Examiner magazine takes a look at three aspects of the United States: How its standing in the world has shifted; whether government is performing better or worse; and how the health of the family has changed.

Trump said "the forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer. Everyone is listening to you now." Here's a look at whether members of the administration have listened, and what they decided to do with what they heard.

The United States of America is still the world’s envy. Being born, or just living here, sets anyone at the peak of mankind’s pyramid in terms of food, comfort, freedom, and opportunity. Millions try to get here, and billions wish they could.

Red meat allergies caused by tick bites?

Experts say that this year's tick season is shaping up to be possibly the worst in recent memory. Beyond Lyme disease and other tick-borne ailments, a new threat is emerging from ticks whose bites can prompt an allergy to red meat.

Can a tick bite make you allergic to red meat?

Tick bites can cause a long list of problems, and now there is evidence that a tick bite could be the trigger for an allergy to red meat, according to Dr. Scott Commins, Associate Professor of Medicine in the Department of Allergy & Immunology at the University of North Carolina.

A woman from Maryland had a horrible reaction while eating an Italian-style pork sausage last year, and her symptoms were all linked back to a tick bite she got three weeks earlier, while walking her dog.

What is the association between ticks and red meat?

In susceptible individuals, multiple tick bites appear to result in sensitization to alpha-gal, a substance present in red meat, which then causes an allergic reaction, according to Dr. Commins.

“Over 90% of patients who develop red meat allergy due to alpha-gal report tick bites," he told ABC News. "Many recall a specific bite that had a ‘bad reaction’ or ‘was slow to heal’ or ‘itched for weeks.'"

The tale of Sarah Sanders and the Red Hen

It was serendipitous timing that the Supreme Court issued its order, instructing Washington's state Supreme Court to reconsider its ruling against Arlene’s Flowers, as debate raged over a Virginia restaurant that refused to serve dinner to White House press secretary Sarah Sanders.

Some conservatives compared the Red Hen’s refusal of service with freedom-of-conscience cases that have popped up recently as state and local agencies punish Christian bakers, florists, and photographers. “Bake the Cake!” conservatives joked on social media.

Ana Navarro, a conservative-turned-full-time-Trump-hater, argued that anyone who would “defend baker’s right to refuse service to gay couples” ought not to “whine" about people "refusing service to a person who’s the face of a deceitful administration. What’s good for the goose, is good for the Red Hen.”

But the analogy is inapt to the point of casuistry. Social liberals’ inability or refusal to see the difference is telling. Refusing to serve someone as an equal because of who he or she is is wholly different in kind from refusing to provide specialized services tailored to an event that in good conscience you find objectionable.

When Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson decided to persecute Baronelle Stutzman, owner of Arlene’s Flowers, he said, “If Ms. Stutzman sells flowers to heterosexual couples, she must sell them to same-sex couples.”

Personal attacks on Trump staffers won’t end well for America

Are we really heading to a place as a nation where people of opposing views can’t share a restaurant?

Last week, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen was protested out of a restaurant in DC, and over the weekend White House Press SecretarySarah Huckabee Sanders was asked to leave The Red Hen restaurant in Virginia.

As I noted on Twitter: “Last week: Anthony Bourdain was amazing because he taught us about breaking bread with different kinds of people and getting to know each other over food. This week: But not you.”

“Anthony Bourdain would have never served Nazis” came thousands of replies. It seemed pointless for me to respond that Sanders isn’t a Nazi.

Sanders also doesn’t make policy. The owner of the Red Hen said she asked Sanders to leave because she “publicly defended the president’s cruelest policies, and that that could not stand.” What about talking heads or opinion columnists who defend his policies, are they now barred from the Red Hen, too? What about those of us who generally disagree with the administration but sometimes find ourselves on the same side? Are we only welcome on alternate weeks?

Why You Aren’t Hearing About the NJ Mass Shooting

Last weekend, Trenton, NJ, suffered the second-biggest mass shooting we’ve seen so far this year. Are you ready to argue that fact? Odds are that this is the first you’ve heard of the event. Shock aside, a little over a week ago, a shooting took place at the Art all Night Trenton festival. At least 22 people were injured in the shooting, and one person was killed. The deceased was one of the shooting suspects and is believed to have died from police gunfire.

Another shooter was apprehended at the scene, and police are still investigating the involvement of additional shooters. Overall, this is a major event in gun news, and yet, the extreme anti-gunners are silent. Let’s talk about that.

Media Response

Despite the magnitude of this event, major outlets have been largely silent. The highest-profile coverage so far was a New York Times article that wasn’t included in primary circulation. Despite how close this was to home, the NYT’s didn’t cover it for the majority of their subscribers. The only article is hidden in the depths of their website.

To make matters worse, they outperformed the rest of mainstream media in their coverage. Most news outlets had nothing at all to say on national coverage, and a few other websites have opinion pieces rather than “objective” coverage. This is a huge mass shooting that they could use to push their gun agendas, and instead they have tried to keep you from knowing about it.

DOJ Won't Release Top Secret Loretta Lynch Intercepts Suggesting Secret Deal To Rig Clinton Probe

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is refusing to release intercepted material alleging that former Attorney General Loretta Lynch conspired with the Clinton campaign in a deal to rig the Clinton email investigation, reports Paul Sperry of RealClear Investigations.

The information remains so secret that Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz had to censor it from his recently released 500-plus-page report on the FBI’s investigation of Clinton, and even withhold it from Congress.

Not even members of Congress with top secret security clearance have been allowed to see the unverified accounts intercepted from presumed Russian sources in which the head of the Democratic National Committee, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, allegedly implicates the Clinton campaign and Lynch in the scheme.

Cities Can't Ban Plastic Bags, Rules Texas Supreme Court

Backing businesses over environmentalists, the Texas Supreme Court on Friday said cities like Austin may not ban retailers from providing customers with disposable bags at the checkout counter.

In a unanimous ruling, the state's highest civil court said bag bans run afoul of a state law that prohibits cities from trying to reduce waste by banning "containers" and "packages." Although the terms are not defined in the law, their plain meaning must be read to include bags, the court ruled.

'A tremendous victory for the Constitution!'

Trump hails 5-4 Supreme Court ruling UPHOLDING his travel ban on majority-Muslim countries as justices say that he DOES have power to block entry for 'national security'

President Trump says that the Supreme Court ruling today on his travel ban is a 'great victory' for his administration and the U.S. Constitution.

Trump said that the 5-4 ruling was also a 'tremendous success' and a 'tremendous victory' for the entire nation.

The president made unexpected remarks on the ruling this afternoon during a luncheon with lawmakers that was initially supposed to be closed to press.

After the high court handed down its judgement Trump invited cameras into the room to declare himself vindicated on migration and his long-held stance that the government has to has to implement extreme vetting for nationals from countries deemed to be a security risk.

'The ruling shows that all of the attacks from the media and the Democrat politicians, all turned out to be very wrong,' he said. 'So I will always be defending the sovereignty, the safety and the security of the American people. That’s why I was put here.'

"You Are Unbalanced": Hungarian Foreign Minister Shuts Down Enraged BBC Reporter Over EU Migration

The newly emboldened populist wave sweeping Europe has begun to clash with establishment EU "open border" advocates, as governments opposed to illegal mass migration dig their heels in and resist the influx of mostly North African migrants.

Europe has been sharply divided over asylum seekers - however words turned to action in early June when Italy's brand new Interior Minister, Matteo Salvini, closed Italian ports to Non-Government Organizations (NGO) ferrying migrants into the country. The rest of Italy's populist coalition government supported the move, fending off condemnation from "hypocritical" French President Emmanuel Macron and other EU leaders.

Perfectly capturing the current rift between populism and progressivism in Europe, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó got in a spat with BBC presenter Emily Maitlis on Monday while trying to explain why his country opposes an open-border policy.

American Farmers Are Killing Themselves At An Unprecedented Rate

Suicide is exploding in America - and the increase isn't confined to celebrities like Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain. Suicide rates have risen by an astonishing 30% since 1999, with suicidal people citing relationship stress, financial difficulties and other issues as the underlying cause.

But suicide rates have increased for some professions more than others. According to CBS, farmers are facing the highest suicide rate of any profession in the US. The suicide rate for people in the field of farming, fishing and forestry is 84.5 per 100,000 people - more than five times that of the broader population. And with retaliatory tariffs from China and the European Union set to further undermine US crop prices, a bad situation could be about to get worse. Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve is raising interest rates, making the loans on which farmers depend increasingly expensive.

Breaking News: Anthony Kennedy is retiring from the Supreme Court. He was often the swing vote, and President Trump can now move the court to the right.

Breaking News: The Justice Dept. approved Disney's $71 billion bid for 21st Century Fox's assets. The decision may complicate Comcast's rival offer.

The government’s approval was filed in federal court on the condition that Disney, which already owns ESPN, divest all of Fox’s 22 regional sports networks, which include valuable channels like the Yankees’ YES network.

Nate Jackson: On Trump's Authority, Due Process and 'Racism'

The president can deny entry to illegals, but leftists insist law enforcement is racist.

“We cannot have a system of catch and release. We are a sovereign nation. We have to secure our borders. And so we just simply cannot have a situation where people are apprehended, they’re released, they don’t return to court, and they know they’re able to do that.” Was that President Donald Trump on another tirade about immigration? Was it one of his officials earning the harassment leveled at them by Democrats? No, it was Jeh Johnson, secretary of homeland security for Barack Obama.

Those comments set up Trump’s recent actions, both in terms of establishing zero-tolerance prosecution policies at the border and then stepping back with last Wednesday’s executive order. Then came yesterday’s report that the Border Patrol has suspended prosecutions of adults crossing the border with children — unless, the Associated Press notes, “they had criminal history or the child’s welfare was in question.” DHS says it’s “out of resources” to detain families.

Meanwhile, Trump continued his musings about immediate deportation, saying, “People must simply be stopped at the Border and told they cannot come into the U.S. illegally. Children brought back to their country. If this is done, illegal immigration will be stopped in it’s tracks — and at very little, by comparison, cost.”

Does Trump have the authority to do this? Yes, under 8 U.S.C. §1182(f), which empowers the president to turn away at the border immigrants he deems unfit for entry.

Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.

Thomas Gallatin: The Real Obstruction Is Coming From the DOJ/FBI

The IG report removes any grounds for Mueller's pursuit of obstruction charges against Trump.

On what grounds is the Robert Mueller investigation continuing? The fact is the recentinspector general report has essentially knocked the legs out from under the stated basis for the special counsel. No credible evidence of any Donald Trump/Russia collusion conspiracy has turned up, and the primary impetuous for the whole charge of collusion is known to be the dubious Hillary Clinton-funded Christopher Steele dossier. Yet Mueller continues apparently directing his investigation toward an obstruction charge. That was clearly the original and admitted desire of disgraced former FBI Director James Comey and the excuse given for his unethical behavior in leaking his Trump memos to the press.

National Review’s Andrew McCarthy argues, “Under the rationale adopted by the IG with the implicit endorsement of the Justice Department, there is no basis for a prosecutor to investigate the president for obstruction. Even if it were the special counsel’s place to analyze the chief executive’s motivation in exercising his constitutional prerogatives (and it is not), there were patently legitimate reasons to support the president’s actions; in light of his broad discretion, the Justice Department must assume he acted on them.” McCarthy adds, “If the Justice Department accepts IG Horowitz’s premise that it must not second-guess the discretionary decision-making of FBI and Department officials when there are legitimate grounds to support their decisions, on what basis may a special counsel second-guess the president’s decision-making when — as [Deputy Attorney General Rod] Rosenstein himself has argued with respect to Comey — there are legitimate grounds to support the president’s decisions?”

So, again, why is the Mueller investigation continuing? The answer appears to be twofold. First, certain individuals within the Justice Department and FBI don’t want their actions and decisions publicly scrutinized. As a result, if anyone can be seriously accused of engaging in obstruction it is the DOJ/FBI. Both agencies have continued the practice of slow-walking and simply ignoring congressional requests for documents related to both the Clinton email and Russian interference investigations.

Italy’s Salvini Jets to Libya, Negotiates Deal to Stop Illegal Migrants

“I am proud to have chosen Libya as the first official overseas visit as the Deputy Prime Minister of Italy… to confront the whole problem of undercover illegal immigration from Libya to Italy,” Salvini declared.

“The Italian government will uphold the need to protect the frontiers to the south of Libya, because neither Italy nor Libya can be alone in shouldering the burden of this illegal immigration,” he insisted.

Army training will now focus on actual battlefield skills, not social issues

Fighting will now take precedence over dealing with transitioning transgender troops, drug abuse and other issues as the Army seeks to overhaul its training regimen to hone its soldiers’ battlefield skills.

In a series of service-wide memorandums approved by Army Secretary Mark Esper and Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley and obtained by The Washington Times, service leaders are making optional previously mandatory training on issues such as transgender transition and drug abuse. The move, Army leaders argue, is designed to relieve stress on the overburdened troop training regimen and refocus on soldiers’ ability to fight in combat.

“The Army’s regulations and policies that deal with training were pretty settled, and there were not a lot of detractors to it. … It was all the other [training] requirements that we levied on ourselves, or we had levied from other places” that led to the increasingly cumbersome approach to combat readiness, said Col. John O’Grady, chief of the Army’s collective training division.

Those mandated training requirements “served as barriers to maximizing time … to build readiness and lethality” within combat units, he said in an interview. Aside from ending mandatory training programs on transgender troops and drug abuse, courses on media awareness and human trafficking have been eliminated from the mandatory curriculum, the service memorandums state.

The staggering hypocrisy of the Hillary defenders going after women of the Trump administration

In 2016 after her loss in the presidential race, Hillary Clinton warned women, “You have to be prepared for what it means to literally be brutalized. ... It’s not to say men don’t get harsh treatment, but you are carrying the burden of the double standard.” She said a few months later that “[Women] get constant messaging our whole lives: You’re not thin enough, talented enough, smart enough. Your voice isn’t what we want to hear.”

I rarely say this, but Hillary is right.

She was talking about her experiences, not of the women who are now being dragged through the mud every single day: the women working for the Trump Administration. These women are experiencing the most brutal and personally spiteful attacks in recent memory.

This weekend’s shocking treatment of Sarah Huckabee Sanders and her family at the hands of the Red Hen restaurant in Virginia serves as only one more data point in a litany of hateful examples of – in Hillary’s words – “brutal treatment.”

Based on Hillary’s claims, perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised that it is the women in President Trump’s family and administration who are singled out for the most vicious attacks.

Here are just a few:

Incitement? Media Rhetoric On Trump Administration Becomes Increasingly Violent

Despite the establishment media’s claims that President Donald Trump is inciting violence against them by calling them “fake news,” journalists have only ramped up their own violent rhetoric in regards to the Trump administration.

CNN’s Jim Acosta told Variety Magazine in April that he believes Trump’s criticisms of the press could cause people who “don’t have all their faculties” to physically attack a reporter, asserting, “a journalist is gonna get hurt one of these days.”

CNN media analyst Brian Stelter and anchor Brooke Baldwin dedicated an entire segment to Trump’s “dangerous speech” prior to the election in 2016, claiming, “If there is unrest and violence after election day, I think we now know why.”

Meanwhile, their own colleagues at CNN have threatened Trump supporters live on-air and even joked about getting into fist fights with White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Anti-Trump Republican Rick Wilson, who is a frequent guest on the network, threatened in January to “gut” a fellow pro-Trump panelist “like a fish” after the panelist defended Trump’s infamous “sh!thole” comment.

April Ryan, an official CNN analyst, joked about getting into a street brawl with Sanders last week after the press secretary told Ryan “you actually don’t know much about me” during a press briefing.

Ryan insisted that Sanders’ remark constituted fighting words, arguing on CNN, “in certain quarters in this nation that starts a physical fight.”

She continued her campaign on her Twitter account in a back and forth with the former mayor of Baltimore, as both ladies suggested they throw down with Sanders.

Rep. Harris Issues Statement on Supreme Court’s Travel Ban Decision

WASHINGTON, DC: On June 26, the United States Supreme Court ruled 5-4 in favor of President Trump in the caseTrump v. Hawaii. The ruling maintains that President Trump acting lawfully in his executive order to restrict travel from nations that have failed to meet enhanced visa security requirements. Congressman Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) issued the following statement in support of the decision:

“The national security of the United States is President Trump’s top priority. I applaud the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the President’s constitutional authority to implement national security and immigration policies that keep the American people safe. The countries affected by this decision have consistently failed to meet visa security requirements, and worse yet, some of these governments openly sponsor terrorist activities. The Supreme Court ruled today in favor of our national security, and on the side of the Constitution.”

Immigrants! Don't Vote for What You Fled

Brit Hume: Maxine Waters needs to keep a civil tongue and so do we all

When Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters next rises to speak on the House floor, she will be recognized as “The gentle lady from California.” Never mind that she may not be many people’s idea of gentle or a lady. It is the custom of the House that members address each other as ladies and gentlemen.

In the Senate, members are discouraged from even addressing each other at all, but rather are supposed to speak to the presiding officer and mention fellow members in the third person, as in “I disagree with the distinguished senator from (name of state).”

Quaint as they seem in this rough-and-tumble age, there is a reason for such customs. They spring from a recognition that political disagreement can quickly become personal and debate can devolve into barbarous language and even behavior.

This was most famously exemplified in 1856, when anti-slavery Republican Sen. Charles Sumner of Massachusetts was nearly beaten to death on the Senate floor by a cane-wielding pro-slavery Democratic Rep. Preston Brooks of South Carolina.

The country at that time was bitterly divided over the issue of slavery. The parties to that bitter debate spoke of each other in the harshest terms, strikingly similar to the language used today by partisans for and against President Trump.

This is what happens to other 'Red Hen' restaurants

The Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, Va., probably wishes White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders hadn’t stopped in for dinner. All the other — unaffiliated — Red Hen restaurants would be good with that, too.

The cheese board had arrived but her entree had not when Sanders was asked to get up from her table in Lexington and, kindly, leave.

Sanders tweeted as much over the weekend, saying she was given the boot “because I work for @POTUS,” referring to President Trump. The owner of the restaurant — which is well past Charlottesville and about 190 miles from the White House — told The Washington Post that to uphold her business’s standards of honesty and compassion, Sanders had to go.

DACA Recipient Arrested for Alien Smuggling

LAS CRUCES, N.M. –U.S. Border Patrol Agents working the I-25 immigration checkpoint north of Las Cruces arrested a “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” (DACA) recipient yesterday who was attempting to smuggle three illegal aliens into the U.S.

In the early hours of Monday, June 25, a U.S. Border Patrol Agent manning the primary immigration inspection lane encountered a dark Toyota Scion approaching the checkpoint for inspection. The agent noticed the female driver appeared to be accompanied by three male passengers as it approached the inspection area. When the driver was questioned on her citizenship, she replied that she was a U.S. Citizen and handed her "Texas Identification Card" to the Agent, but not a valid driver’s license. He then asked the driver where she was traveling to, and she replied they were headed to Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The Border Patrol Agent then questioned the passengers in the vehicle as to their citizenship, but got no response.

That prompted the Border Patrol Agent to refer the vehicle to secondary inspection for further questioning of everyone in the vehicle. Once in the secondary area, the three individuals freely admitted not having any immigration documents, and said they entered the country illegally. Agents were also able to determine the female driver attempted to deceive them by claiming to be a United States Citizen, when in actuality she was a citizen of Mexico currently on DACA status.

All subjects including the driver where transported to a U.S. Border Patrol Station where they were searched and entered in to various immigration and criminal databases. Using this technology, it was confirmed the driver was not a U.S. Citizen, but rather a DACA recipient. The other three subjects were citizens of Mexico. The DACA recipient had applied and received her status in April of 2017.

She will be prosecuted on alien-smuggling charges and may no longer be eligible to maintain her DACA status.

Education, Military Service, Marriage Among Drivers of Black Men’s Success

Participation in institutions such as the U.S. military, churches, and marriage are all strongly related to black men's chances of reaching the middle class, according to a new report released Tuesday by the American Enterprise Institute.

"Black Men Making It in America: The Engines of Economic Success for Black Men in America" explores the effects which help African American men avoid poverty and achieve or preserve a middle-class life. That group has increased in size over the past 50 years, the report notes—57 percent of black men were in the middle or upper-third income brackets in 2016, compared to 38 percent in 1960. By comparison, the proportions for white, Asian, and Hispanic men remained roughly constant over the same period of time.

Mexico Using ‘Racist Criteria’ to Expel Massive Number of Central American Refugees

Mexico has militarized immigration enforcement efforts that primarily target Central Americans fleeing violence in their home countries while refusing to invest in programs to guarantee their safety, various news reports reveal.

Asylum-seekers, including women and children, are facing torture at the hands of Mexican authorities, the reports suggest.

With the looming Mexican presidential elections on July 1, candidates like the leftist Andrés Manuel López Obrador — who is expected to win — vows to demilitarize the immigration enforcement, National Public Radio (NPR) reports.

In a speech last Tuesday, Obrador declared:

"After the victory of our movement, we will defend all migrants in the American continent and all the migrants in the world. … Military and police force will not be used to repress the [migrant] population. We will primarily use diplomatic channels with the origin countries of these migrants to reach some kind of agreement."

Until then, Central Americans seeking refuge in Mexico are facing various human rights violations not only by criminal groups who demand payment just for passing through but also at the hands of immigration officials accused of using “a secret quota system” to increase the number of deportations.

Trump calls Maxine Waters 'the face of the Democrats' saying she and Nancy Pelosi are a 'fine leadership team' – and that they should bring back 'Crooked Hillary' as 2020 candidate

President Trump has found a new Democratic bogey-man for mid-term elections: Maxine Waters, a California representative who over the weekend encouraged her supporters to harass members of his administration.

Trump said Monday evening at a rally that the Democratic Party has become part and parcel with the impeachment-pushing lawmaker from California.

He revisited the attack in a tweet on Tuesday morning that tied Waters to two of his other favorite targets, Nancy Pelosi and 'Crooked Hillary' Clinton.

'The face of the Democrats is now Maxine Waters who, together with Nancy Pelosi, have established a fine leadership team,' he charged in a tweet. 'They should always stay together and lead the Democrats, who want Open Borders and Unlimited Crime, well into the future....and pick Crooked Hillary for Pres.'

'The Party of Maxine Waters and Nancy Pelosi’

President Donald Trump at a rally in South Carolina Monday described Democrats as "the party of Maxine Waters and Nancy Pelosi," both Democrat representatives from California.

Democrats have fought Trump’s zero-tolerance policy of prosecuting border crossers and the separation of families at the border, with Waters saying Trump officials should be harassed in public. He said they only know how to oppose him.

"They’re only good at one thing—what’s their term? ‘Resist,'" he said. "This has become the party of Maxine Waters and Nancy Pelosi."

WATCH: Laura Loomer Confronts Maxine Waters

I confronted Rep. Maxine Waters of California regarding her call for Trump administration officials to be harassed in their everyday lives. Does Maxine Waters think this kind of targeted harassment is civil? Does Maxine Waters stand behind her comments, or was it just agitprop for her Resistance friends?

King: The Supreme Court Just Laid the Foundation for the Border Wall

In one ruling, the Supreme Court has delivered two major victories to President Trump. The first victory is obvious: Trump v. Hawaii validates the President’s broad authority to restrict entry of specified foreign nationals into the United States when the President finds such entry is “detrimental to the interests of the United States.”

What does this mean? It means, as I have argued, that President Trump’s “travel ban” limiting immigration from Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, Chad, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen is constitutional. It means that President Trump does have the authority, despite the open-borders howls of liberals and illegal alien activists, to secure our citizens against threats posed by foreign nationals from dysfunctional states. It is a good ruling, and one that will help President Trump keep this nation safe, secure, and protected.

But Trump v. Hawaii is a decision with a less obvious meaning too. The Supreme Court has just laid the foundation for the Border Wall that the President and I want to build along the US-Mexico border. Trump v. Hawaii, in fact, provides a roadmap to “Build The Wall!”

Nolte: Maxine Waters, Leftist Bullies, and Their Media Enablers Want to Disarm Us

Democrat icon Maxine Waters, all of the establishment media, and the organized left have finally gone the full-CNN, have finally and forever seized the lead taken by Jeff Zucker’s hate network, and are now openly encouraging, fomenting, and encouraging mob justice against those of us on the right. And we must never forget that these are the very same people who want to disarm us, to makes us helpless, to ensure we are defenseless.

Only the willfully blind will fail to see the connection.

Look around. Look at the border hoax the media have ginned up over the past 10 days, a hoax using fraudulent photographs as a means to incite mob justice over the perfectly reasonable and humane policy of separating illegal adults and children; a policy Barack Obama practiced for every one of his eight years — eight years where no one in the media said a thing.

Look around. High-profile elected officials like Maxine Waters (D-CA) are openly and publicly whipping up mobs, ordering them to go after Trump officials spotted in public.

“You push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” she shrieked to wild applause.

Maxine Waters wants to disarm us.

And that applause did not end at the confines of her specific event. Cory Booker, a United States Senator with presidential ambitions, not only refused to condemn Waters, he characterized her brand of mob justice as “love.”

Cory Booker wants to disarm us.

NBC News is now labeling every one of Trump’s supporters, roughly 45 percent of the American population, as “Nazis.” MSNBC’s Donny Deutsch did not use “Nazi” as a euphemism. He used it literally, and no one on the Morning Joe roundtable did anything other than nod in agreement, no one anywhere in the media condemned it.

When you smear someone as a Nazi, that is a de facto call for murder and violence.

What the left and the media are doing is testing us, testing how far they can go, how much we will take, how ugly they can get. They are also hoping to normalize this violent behavior in the eyes of the public, they want us to get used to it, to see it as the status quo.

Rep. Harris Leads Bipartisan Letter to DHS in Support of Seasonal Guest Workers

WASHINGTON, DC: On June 26, Congressman Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) sent a bipartisan letter, signed by 82 members of the U.S. House of Representatives, to Secretary of Homeland Security Kristjen Nielsen in support of the H-2B visa program. The letter urges the Department of Homeland Security to issue additional H-2B nonimmigrant temporary workers visas, in response to historically high demand for H-2B visas this year. These visas are used by seasonal industries, including the Eastern Shore’s seafood processing industry, when businesses are unable to find American workers. Congressman Harris released the following statement regarding this letter:

“Seasonal industries across Maryland’s First District and across the United States rely on the H-2B visa program for temporary guest workers when they cannot find American workers. H-2B guest workers pay American taxes, collect no government benefits, support American jobs, and return to their home countries when their visas expire. Every H-2B worker is estimated to create and sustain almost 5 American jobs. When seasonal businesses cannot hire the temporary workers they need, American businesses and jobs are jeopardized. I urge Secretary Nielsen to heed the call of seasonal small businesses nationwide, and release additional H-2B visas.”

The final signed copy of the letter is attached to this email.

State of Maryland Files Petitions Regarding Flight Paths at Reagan National and BWI Thurgood Marshall Airports

BALTIMORE, MD – Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh today announced the State of Maryland has filed two petitions regarding flight paths at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI). The first action is a petition for review in the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit regarding the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) implementation changes to the approach flight path for Runway 19 at DCA. The second is an administrative petition, filed with the FAA, that requests a supplemental environmental assessment as well as revisions to area navigation routes and procedures for BWI. Attorney General Frosh noted that the FAA failed to conduct the necessary environmental reviews prior to implementing the new flight paths.

“The FAA must follow required procedures before implementing changes to flight paths that impact thousands of Maryland residents,” said Attorney General Frosh. “Thousands of Marylanders have had their lives disrupted since the new flight paths were implemented without the appropriate level of environmental review, public input, and transparency.”

Attorney General Frosh Joins Multistate Lawsuit Challenging Trump Administration’s Family Separation Policy

Eighteen Attorneys General to Oppose Unconstitutional Policy

BALTIMORE, MD –
Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh today joined a multistatelawsuit challenging the Trump Administration’s policy of forced family separation on the U.S. southern border. A total of 17 states and the District of Columbia joined the lawsuit, filed today in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.

“President Trump’s policy of taking children away from their parents is cruel,” said Attorney General Frosh. “It is unconstitutional and illegal. As a matter of simple human decency, this practice must cease, and the children should be reunited with their parents immediately.”
