CNN MOCKS MILLION VET MARCH AS TEA PARTY CRAZIES

CNN.com covered Sunday’s “Million Vet March” in Washington D.C. against the Obama administration’s closure of military memorials by castigating the marchers as Tea Party kooks and fringe crazies. “At tea party-like rally, Obama told to ‘put the Quran down,’” the headline read. CNN derided the size of the crowd:

The rally, billed as the "Million Vet March on the Memorials," drew far fewer than a million people and evolved into a protest that resembled familiar tea party events from 2009, with yellow "Don't Tread On Me" flags throughout the crowd and strong anti-Obama language from the podium and the audience. One speaker went as far as saying the president was a Muslim and separately urged the crowd of hundreds to initiate a peaceful uprising.

2 Millions Bikers to DC

THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER DID NOT WAVE...

The story behind this photo: taken this morning 10-13-13. Our biker friend who went to DC with the patriots from Delaware on 9-11-13 went back today, and took his flag with him.

When he got to the Delaware memorial, he thought it was odd that the flag poles were empty.

Says Rick Harvey: Myself and another couple were just about to call it a day when about forty members of Second Brigade rolled in...When they saw no flags flying from the Memorial's flagpoles, they insisted on having me and my Flag in the pics which I was honored to do...GOD BLESS AMERICA! peace!!! — at Delaware Memorial Bridge WWII Monument in New Castle, DE. — at WWII Memorial at the foot of the Delaware Memorial Bridge in New Castle, DE.

Cruz Crushes Field In Presidential Straw Poll At Values Voters Summit

Sen. Ted Cruz trounced the competition in the presidential straw poll at the 2013 Values Voters Summit, with Dr. Ben Carson and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum coming in a distant second and third places — highlighting how Mr. Cruz has become a rock star with grassroots conservatives.

Tony Perkins, the head of the Family Research Council, which hosted the three—day event, announced that Mr. Cruz won 42 percent of the vote, while Mr. Carson and Mr. Santorum each captured 13 percent.

“I just spoke with Senator Cruz and he wanted me to convey to you his deep appreciation for your enthusiastic and warm welcome yesterday — and that he was very grateful to know that there are Americans across the country who are standing with him as he stands for your values here in Washington, D.C.,” Mr. Perkins said.

Obama Admits Hurting Americans To Score Political Points Against GOP

On Friday, Jonah Goldberg of the National Review Online said that Barack Obama confessed to purposefully hurting average Americans in order to score cheap political points against Republicans.

Last week, Goldberg wrote another column accusing Obama of "deliberately trying to make the lives of average Americans worse just so he could score ideological and political points."

He also cited the statement made to the Washington Times by an anonymous Park Ranger who admitted being given orders to inflict pain on Americans.

Computer Upgrade Blamed For Nationwide EBT System Shutdown On Saturday

A possible glitch in a computer system upgrade was causing major problems nationwide with the Electronic Benefits Transfer System on Saturday, as a countless number of shoppers found themselves stranded at the register.

Reports from around the country began pouring in around 9 a.m. on Saturday that customers’ EBT cards were not working in stores.

The glitch, however, did not appear to be part of the government shutdown. At 2 p.m., an EBT customer service representative told CBS Boston that the system was currently down for a computer system upgrade.

Ireton Makes New Parking Arrangements And More

Ever since John Pick moved on and Ireton fired Lore' Chambers, new parking arrangements have been made to accommodate interim Tom Stevenson.

John Pick was subjected to parking quite a distance away from the GOB as well as Lore' Chambers. However, out of nowhere, Tom Stevenson has been placed in the preferred parking spaces closest to the GOB. Is this proof of further discrimination?

To top it off, John Pick and Lore' Chambers came to and from work in their own personal vehicle. The City did not provide a vehicle for their position. However, Tom Stevenson is in fact driving a City vehicle at taxpayers expense.

Concerned citizens have contacted me about this matter and now it is up to the Court of Public Opinion.

JASON COLLINS IMPLIES TEAMS NOT SIGNING HIM BECAUSE HE'S GAY

Jason Collins, who made news when he became the first openly gay man playing a major American team sport, implied that the reason he has not been signed by any NBA teams might have to do with the fact that he announced he was gay.

When asked whether he thought he hadn't been signed because of discrimination, he replied, "You don't want to speculate. I don't go there," but then added that he couldn't understand it because, "I feel there are players in the league right now that, quite frankly, I'm better than."

And he knows he has those willing to do battle for him; he asserted, "I do have that feeling now that I'm not alone in this and I have that mindset, you know, of bring it on."

Warning: Enrolling In Obamacare Allows Government To Link Your IP Address With Your Name

…social security number, bank accounts and web surfing habits

We have already established that Healthcare.gov is not a functioning database application that allows people to shop for competing health plans. It is actually a government-run Trojan Horse that suckers people into creating accounts where they hand over:

• Name and address
• Email address and password
• Social security number
• Private bank account details
• Employer details and other information

During the enrollment process, your computer also hands over your IP address which is then tied to your social security number.

This IP address is then handed over to the NSA thanks to its new mega-black-hole data center in Utah, where your IP is cross-referenced with all website visits, including:

• “Anti-government” websites
• Porn sites
• Gambling sites
• File sharing sites
• “Terrorism” support sites
• Encryption service sites like Hushmail

City Mulls Funding Options For Employee Salary Hikes

SALISBURY — A number of cost reduction efforts and revenue boosts were examined by the Salisbury City Council this week with the goal of finding a way to fund a city-wide employee pay increase.

City administration was able to put together a plan that would cover the pay increases, though members of the council questioned whether some were necessary or possibly even damaging to the relationship between Salisbury and Wicomico County.

There may have been some dispute over how pay raises would be financed, but there was unanimous agreement from Mayor Jim Ireton and the council members at Monday’s work session that an increase is a necessity.

Who's At Fault?

Obama is blaming Fox News for 2/3 of the country disliking Obamacare. Here's Neal Cavuto's explanation and it is great. If you don't understand what is bad about ObamaCare please read his comments and you will understand.

Mr. President, Fox News isn't what's making Americans sick about your healthcare law. Your healthcare law is. Welcome, everybody, I'm Neil Cavuto. And excuse this departure from form. But I think this is just poor form. So, it's time we set some things straight.

Mr. President, we at Fox News are not the problem. I hate to break it to you, sir. You are. Your words are. Your promises are. We didn't sell this healthcare law. Sir, you did. Remember this?

President Barack Obama: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period.

Mr. President, tell that to tens of thousands of retirees at IBM and Time Warner and dozens of others, who've been dumped from their coverage and told to find their own coverage. Fox News didn't break that news to them, Mr. President. Their companies did.

Fox News didn't push more of those firms to hire part-time workers.
Your healthcare law did. Fox News didn't incentivize fast food restaurants to scale back their benefits. Your healthcare law did. Fox News didn't make doctors want to opt out. Your healthcare law did. Fox News didn't make insurance premiums sky rocket. Your healthcare law did. Just like Fox News didn't grant hundreds of exemptions to companies that needed them. You did. And Fox News didn't delay one key provision after another, including online enrollment for those small business exchanges. You did.

Just like it wasn't Fox News that said we had to pass this to see what was in this. You did. Or was that Nancy Pelosi? Sometimes I'm confused. But of this I am not. Fox News didn't re-do basic math. Sir, you did. Fox News didn't say you can cover 30 million more Americans and not see a hit in premiums. You did. Fox News didn't say you could throw in those with pre-existing conditions and not have to pay for it. You did. Fox News didn't all but say you could get something for nothing. You did. Fox News didn't come back years later and say, oh yea, we did raise some taxes. You did.

Here's where you are right about Fox News, however, Mr. President. We can do math. And did. You cannot. And did not. We said it, and proved it. You didn't. And we're all suffering for it. Take it from the numbers guy at Fox. Numbers don't lie. The number of Americans working part-time and nervous. The number of retirees days away from being dumped on exchanges and anxious. The number of company bosses with any news to pass along on those exchanges, but still clueless. The number of doctors who want out. The number of congressmen now opting out. No, Mr. President, none of those numbers lie.

But with all due respect sir, I can only conclude you do know; I know, I know you hate us at Fox. But please take a look in a mirror, and fast. You think we're the skunk at your picnic. But that doesn't mean we're the ones that stink. Because that smell isn't coming from the folks reporting on your law. Mr. President, that smell is your law.

Morning In Maryland? Not For farmers

The State of Maryland has gone too far with regulations imposed on farmers. The phosphorus regulations that the special interests and their state apparatus would now like to force on the farming community are only the latest on a long list. These new regulations will make it illegal for farmers to apply almost all organic fertilizers, compost, manures and many other natural products to the land if the soil contains above certain level phosphorus. The law will mandate farmers to surrender the self-sufficiency of traditional organic practices and become entirely dependent on much greater quantities of the highly soluble chemical fertilizers (environmentalists, think "run off" when you hear highly soluble) of the petrochemical industry. As an organic farmer, I will have to stop dealing with my local organic fertilizer provider and ship in expensive products from other regions. My family will lose a substantial portion of the income that we rely upon as this will more than double our fertilizer costs. It will force me to waste much money and entire days of my time driving to Lancaster, Pennsylvania in dangerous and heavy summer traffic to bring back fertilizer. All of this at precisely the time of year that I need to be on my farm with a watchful eye 24hrs a day and 7 days a week. Also, I will no longer be legally allowed to use compost, one of the main engines of fertility on almost all organic farms.

Our small region here on the lower peninsula is particularly vulnerable because of the natural characteristics of our soil, and the outdated manure application practices that were at one time encouraged by the same class of society that now seeks to abolish the modern improved ones. The chemistry of phosphorus in our soil is such that it's quantity is abundant but it is not available as plant food. For instance, last year I performed a tissue nutrient analysis and a soil nutrient analysis in my vegetable fields. The results were that the soil phosphorus levels were high, yet the tissue analysis showed that the plant was starving for phosphorus. If the phosphorus is not available to the plant, it must be applied in small quantities to grow a marketable crop.

As hard as the new regulations will be on me and many others, I hesitate to even imagine the hardship that will be imposed upon the most vulnerable farmers and agricultural businesses. What right does the state's ruling class think that they have to be able to take these actions and inflict these hardships on those who provide the people's sustenance? Are the few of us in the agricultural community merely expendable political bargaining chips in Annapolis so that politicians can get the environmental vote? Does a person still maintain enough property rights to be self-sufficient on the land? The answer is no we do not. Those who rule us, whether directly or indirectly, claim to know what is best for us. They claim to know what is impossible for them to know.

In the October 9th Daily Times, there is an op-ed titled "Morning in Maryland, if not America". I know the individual who penned it, and he has always seemed to be a well-meaning fellow, and certainly polite. However, as a "sustainable" farmer myself, I can readily identify that the author has no idea of the devastation that the regulations he is cheerleading will have on sustainable farming, and the local food economy. He praises "savvy environmental measures", "innovative storm water management system", and "progressive land-use legislation" that will "promote sustainable agriculture". Yet it is exactly these policies to which he refers that will crush the small independent farmers, beginning farmers, and the other vulnerable agricultural businesses. I know from experience. I am a "sustainable farmer" and the "progressive land-use legislation" has destroyed my families' opportunities in the state of Maryland.

My wife and I own and operate a growing farm business that produces organically grown vegetables, pasture-raised beef and poultry, and free-range pork. We sell almost everything we grow locally in our CSA, farmers' markets, and our on-site farm-stand. We also buy all of the products for our stand from local farmers, and like ourselves, most of those farmers rely on our farm stand sales as a significant source of revenue. The stand we have now is not on a main road, we do not advertise, yet we do good amount business. If we were on a main road, and were able to custom build a new stand exactly to our needs, we would do much better amount of business, and that would be good for numerous local farmers and farm businesses.

A little over a year ago, my wife and I were given a once in a life time opportunity to purchase the adjoining farm. The neighboring farm is located on a busy road and my wife and I were very excited about being able to plant more acreage and build a new produce stand there. Ringed by giant walnut and pecan trees, along with old barn and sheds, there is a site that is perfect for a new stand to sell our produce. We wouldn't even have to disturb new ground or pave over farmland because we could just build in the same place the old farm house used to be.

When I first applied for the building permits that I knew would be required, I was dealt with setback after setback from the officials. After jumping through hoops for nearly 3 months of repeated trips to the government office buildings, I was made aware of several new regulations. In the short time since we had built our first produce stand, codes affecting farm buildings, stormwater management, and all septic systems had been changed dramatically. Not even 4 years ago were there special requirements for stormwater catchment, septic systems were affordable, and agricultural buildings did not even need a building permit. The cost of the building was basically the cost of construction. Now, young farmers just starting out will have to pay at least $50,000 beyond the cost of construction to comply with Maryland codes if he or she would like to try to sell their produce from their own farm in a weatherproof and secure facility. Others I have spoken with have calculated the costs to be over $90,000. Most of that cost is from forcing farmers to comply with stormwater regulations and in the cost of the new mandatory yet marginally effective septic systems. If these laws had been in place when we started farming, we would never have even considered a career in farming, it would have cost too much to start.
Needless to say, my wife and I could not justify the squandering of at least $50,000 to address stormwater and septic problems that do not even exist on our farm. Our hopes were crushed; the prospects for the local farmers who supply us were crushed as well. This was a huge blow, especially since we had already spent several thousand dollars and countless hours planning out the project and now we had a mortgage to pay with hardly any way left to increase income. We will not even be able to increase the acreage we plant because in order to do so we would have to upgrade to a larger packing facility with more refrigeration capacity, and the stormwater regulations will apply to that as well, making it cost prohibitive. We hope to be able to hold onto the new farm, but we are uncertain at this time.

I have sat and thought hard about this, and I have calculated that it would be far less expensive to move our entire farming operation to another state and start over again rather than pay for the ridiculous fees, taxes, licenses, permits and mitigations now required by the state of Maryland for our farm-stand. We are now wondering if we will ever be able to save enough money to retire on, or if selling our small farm will even provide enough money for retirement. When one touts the new phosphorus regulations, or stormwater regulations, or new septic regulations "savvy, innovative, and progressive", it is insulting. We can no longer build weatherproof and secure retail facilities on the farm, we can no longer construct farm infrastructure beyond the small amount that the state will allow, and we are now forced to squander significant sums of money on septic technologies that have will yield little improvement if any to the Chesapeake Bay. These newly implemented policies of the special interests and their state apparatus, especially the cheer leading professional "environmentalists", have severely damaged the future of small farming and local distribution in the state of Maryland.

Like myself, I imagine that all farmers take offense to being grouped into a collective labeled "polluters". Never has anyone been to my farm and done any testing to see if I am in fact contributing to pollution, so how do they get away with the accusation? I test my soil at least every year, and I know that I am not over applying nutrients by a wide margin. There are no surface waters near my farm for rain water to run-off into. They try to tell me the phosphorus is seeping down into the aquifer, yet I have tested the deeper soil for phosphorus and there is hardly any phosphorus deeper than 12 inches down. I have left buffers around my entire field to catch any loss of nutrient. I planted cover crops before Maryland had a cover crop program. Like many farmers I have taken these steps because I want to leave my small piece of earth a better place than I found it, and they make good common sense. Yet the special interests and their state apparatus do not care about us as individuals, in their eyes individuals do not have rights. To them individuals do not matter; everyone must obey regardless of whether or not one is actually a polluter, no matter what hardship it may cause. They self-impose no limits, and they will bring even more economic destruction in the future. Even with massive political action, it may be too late defend ourselves from their recklessness.

Sincerely,

Ted Wycall

BREAKING NEWS UPDATE: Letter To The Editor

Today, October 10, 2013, Deputy James TROY Durham made history in Somerset County MD. He finally received ALL of his back pay, benefits and retirement, for the three full years that he was unlawfully terminated. His personnel files in BOTH the County HR Dept and the Sheriff's office show NO break in his employment whatsoever.

AND the fact that the County and the Sheriff's office made this right at the final hour for no other reason than a court order (show cause and writ of mandamus) after more than a year just made Troy Durham's $5 million Federal lawsuit against them even stronger.

Attn: Smart Meter Opt Out - Jeanette Mills

Dear Ms. Mills;

I am very concerned over the reports available concerning Smart Meters potential safety hazards, interference with other home electronics, disruption of router services for my internet and personal privacy.

I am requesting to take advantage of any ‘opt out’ options for the new Smart Meter installation.

Your personnel are hereby placed on notice that I will consider it Trespassing if a work crew attempts to enter or does in fact enter my property unless I specifically request their services. All legal avenues will be considered if in fact your personnel do commit Trespass.

BGE has not, to my satisfaction, presented a compelling argument in which I would benefit from these Smart Meters. Until such time as you do, consider this address as a “DO NOT INSTALL” AND “DO NOT TRESPASS” location.

A reply indicating your receipt of this letter is expected and would be appreciated. You may also send me any further information you feel would aid in my decision to accept your Smart Meter.

Philly Police Release Surveillance Video Of Blind Man Beating

Philadelphia police released a street-camera video Wednesday of a blind man taking a brutal beating in broad daylight.

The blind man, who was in the Germantown area, appeared to be pushed from behind and falls off the curb and into the street.

While on the ground, the blind man takes two punches, and then gets kicked nearly a dozen times by the attacker. He offered no defense. Police noted that there were bystanders in the video that did nothing to intervene. There were no calls to 911 until after the attack, and that call did not even specify that he had been attacked.

"A challenged person that can’t see is attacked in midday, and no one comes to his aid? That's insanity," one resident told MyFoxPhilly.com.

A Comment Worthy Of A Post 10-9-13

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "OC Council Address Council Meeting Decorum, Last M...":

Joe,

What the hell are you talking about, think about this next time during elections?

You KNOW DAMN WELL these people "the citizens" don't have the attention span long enough to focus for the next time or elections, let alone a day... You also know these people don't give two rats asses about what is and will happen in the future...

My point: Look at the workers at PRMC they didn't give a rats ass, they even called people like you and me racists and anything under the sun because why? they were not affected... UNTIL THEY WERE, then they had a problem with the same stuff we do and what they called us racist over... but who was right? FUNNY HUH?

Not to mention, everyone will based their vote on somes stupid debate which has nothing to do with anything...

IT IS CLEAR these people are not waking up or gonna wake up... it is clear that once the dems win the house in the mid terms, call off the dogs, for it will be over then and nothing, I repeat NOTHING will stop them from taking over anything and everything...

WHY, WHY are you still wasting you time trying to help these dumb ass people, who showed you what they think of you by not even showing up to vote at all let alone for you...

You can't help someone who does not want it, and to finally add, YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID!!!

Publishers Notes: Dear Fellow alleged racist, you make an excellent point. However, here's why I do what I do.

Let's go back NINE years when I started Salisbury News. I was considered radical. A liar. Crazy, you name it, they labeled me so many different things. Barrie Tilghman would call a press conference and call me crazy. Even when the City was getting fined tens of thousands of dollars for illegal activity at the Waste Water Treatment Plant from the MDE because I had fully exposed what was going on, I was called a liar and crazy. Yet I was right. NONE of the other local MSM outlets would expose what was going on and at the same time Tilghman was saying to the public the City was 99.9% compliant with the MDE.

I created Salisbury News to expose all of the lies and things that were going on the local MSM refused to publish. In a few minutes I'll be exposing a letter from County Executive Rick Pollitt. Because of Salisbury News, the Daily Times was forced to publish a story about County Employees and their salaries. Rick just wrote a letter expressing his anger at the DT's for going through with the article and Rick actually believes the PUBLIC shouldn't know.

I do this because this is America and YOU have every right to know. So they say you and I are liars, racist and crazy. In the mean time I'll just keep exposing their lies, racist actions and in the end we'll just so who the truly "crazy" people are. I sleep very well at night, you?

OC Council Address Council Meeting Decorum, Last Month’s Ejection Of Citizen

OCEAN CITY – City Council members squared off this week over last month’s incident involving an Ocean City resident being ejected from council chambers with some members apologizing while others stood behind the decision.

At the conclusion of a Mayor and City Council meeting last month, while Ocean City resident Herb Pawlukewicz was at the podium addressing the Mayor and City Council, a citizen in the audience, Ellie Diegelmann, was asked to leave council chambers by a police officer after clapping in response to a comment and was accused of disorderly conduct.

The majority of the council claims they were all focused on Pawlukewicz and did not recognize the discourse between Diegelmann and the officer until she was already packing up her belongings and leaving the building. At that point, Councilman Brent Ashley asked Council President Lloyd Martin if Diegelmann could be given a warning and be allowed to stay. Martin replied, “No.”

Pentagon Warns To Expect “Radical” Change In US Government Soon

A highly troubling “urgent bulletin” issued earlier today by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) states that it has receivedinformation from the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) warning to expect a “radical change” in the government of the United States, possibly within the next fortnight, based on information they have received from “highly placed” sources within the Pentagon.

According to this MoFA bulletin, GRU intelligence assests were notified by their Pentagon counterparts this past week that President Barack Obama is preparing to invoke the powers given to him under 50 USC Chapter 13 to hold that various American States are now in a “state of insurrection” thus allowing him to invoke the National Emergencies Act under 50 USC § 1621 and invoke the highly controversial “continuity of government” plan for the United States allowing him, in essence, to rule with supreme powers.

Specifically, this bulletin says, Obama will invoke 50 USC § 212 that states: “ the President shall have declared by proclamation that the laws of the United States are opposed, and the execution thereof obstructed, bycombinations too powerful to be suppressed by the ordinary course of judicial proceedings”

The protest has been organized by individuals with various connections to the military, either as children of veterans, spouses of veterans or those who have served themselves, who are outraged and deeply disappointed that individuals who have served in the military have been blocked from the memorials honoring their service across the country. They are most concerned about blocking access to monuments in the nation’s capital, Washington D.C.

SHA Plants Thousands Of Trees To Mitigate Filter Highway Runoff

The State Highway Administration (SHA) is planting more than 55,000 trees in Carroll, Frederick and Howard counties as a part of Maryland’s Reclaim the Bay.

The trees will act as natural filters to help reduce harmful nutrients that wash into waterways and finally into the Chesapeake Bay.

“Every acre of trees absorbs carbon dioxide equal to the amount emitted by a car driven 26,000 miles,” said David Coyne, SHA District Engineer for Carroll, Frederick and Howard counties.

The planting sites along highway interchanges and grassy areas will not hinder visibility for drivers.

National Park Rangers Ordered To Keep Visitors Out Of Privately Run Businesses

The National Park Service has closed privately run marinas, restaurants and inns throughout the country and in some cases even posted guards to keep people from using them during the government shutdown, arguing that it doesn’t have the money, manpower or authority to let them operate.

But the moves, which likely have thrown thousands of people out of work, are drawing scrutiny from Congress and don’t rest well with many voters who believe the administration is making the effects of the shutdown worse than necessary.

On Friday, the Pisgah Inn on the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina decided it would buck the Park Service’s order and remain open — only to find park rangers come and block the driveway to the inn to prevent anyone from entering. The parkway itself remained open, but the administration said all concessions in national parks must shut.

Gansler Calls Himself Pro-Business Democrat In A One-Party State; Joins GOP Candidates In Calling For Tax Cuts

Attorney General Douglas Gansler declared Maryland a one-party state at a forum on manufacturing for candidates for governor.

“We are a one-party state, and so the Democrat is going to end up winning the deal [the election] at the end,” Gansler said, seemingly dismissing Republican and independent voters. ”We have a choice of a pro-business Democrat or a continuation of what we have now.”

Gansler’s principal Democratic foe, Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown, was a no show at the event, and his campaign told organizers they had a scheduling conflict they would not describe. Brown has already been endorsed by much of the party establishment and a number of unions.

BLACK AMERICAN CITIZENS FILE “ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT” AGAINST OBAMA

The National Black Republican Association (NBRA) based in Sarasota, FL, headed by Chairman Frances Rice, filed Articles of Impeachment against President Barack Obama with the following language:

We, black American citizens, in order to free ourselves and our fellow citizens from governmental tyranny, do herewith submit these Articles of Impeachment to Congress for the removal of President Barack H. Obama, aka, Barry Soetoro, from office for his attack on liberty and commission of egregious acts of despotism that constitute high crimes and misdemeanors.

On July 4, 1776, the founders of our nation declared their independence from governmental tyranny and reaffirmed their faith in independence with the ratification of the Bill of Rights in 1791. Asserting their right to break free from the tyranny of a nation that denied them the civil liberties that are our birthright, the founders declared:

“When a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.” - Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776.

BISHOPVILLE — Five Delaware firefighters were arrested on Friday after local law enforcement identified them as the suspects in a vandalism spree in northern Worcester County when they allegedly threw watermelons at mailboxes and other property from the bed of a pick-up truck.

Around 1:15 a.m. last Friday, Worcester County Sheriff’s deputies were alerted by a resident in Bishopville that several people were riding around in a dark-colored pick-up truck and smashing mailboxes. Worcester County Sheriff’s deputies and Maryland State Police converged on the area and a MSP trooper located a dark-colored pick-up truck traveling on St. Martin’s Neck Rd. near Route 90.

The trooper stopped the truck and located four individuals in the vehicle’s truck bed along with the driver. Also located in the truck bed were 29 watermelons.
