That other plot – to bring down Trump

Pat Buchanan: 'The real indictment here is of the American political system'

Well over a year after the FBI began investigating “collusion” between the Trump campaign and Vladimir Putin, Special Counsel Robert Mueller has brought in his first major indictment.

Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort has been charged with a series of crimes dating back years, though none is tied directly to President Donald Trump or 2016.

With a leak to CNN that indictments were coming, Mueller’s office stole the weekend headlines. This blanketed the explosive news on a separate front, as the dots began to be connected on a bipartisan plot to bring down Trump that began two years ago.

And like “Murder of the Orient Express,” it seems almost everyone on the train had a hand in the plot.

The narrative begins in October 2015.

Having 'white nuclear family' promotes white supremacy, says New York professor, report says

A City University of New York sociology professor reportedly said in a tweetstorm last week that “the white-nuclear family” promotes racism, prompting a backlash on social media.

Jessie Daniels, described as an expert on “the Internet manifestations of racism” on herCUNY page, infuriated social media users after reportedly saying that white families promote racism by default.

The professor began her argument saying she learned that “the white-nuclear family is one of the most powerful forces supporting white supremacy,” adding that that families “reproducing white children” are “part of the problem” as they facilitate white supremacy in the country, Campus Reform reported.

What Kentucky’s Retirement Rush Says About The Future of State Pensions

Just because a Ponzi scheme is run by a government doesn’t mean it won’t collapse.

The situation in Kentucky serves as a dire warning about larger pension systems including Social Security.

What Kentucky is currently facing in like a bank run. When people hear that a bank is failing, they all scramble to get their money out before it goes bust. This snowballs and the bank runs out of cash that much quicker.

Kentuckians are retiring in droves, hoping to get a piece of the pension funds they were promised. Worried that the money might not be there in a few years, they are opting to start collecting now, lest they get nothing. But this is causing a run-on-the-bank effect. The pension system is collapsing that much quicker.

Politicians have long kicked the can down the road. The idea is that there will always be a future generation, unborn children to pay for the promises they make today. There will always be new suckers to pay for their unfunded liabilities.

But the bubble bursts. Unless a population grows exponentially, this cannot work. That is why it is a Ponzi scheme. There’s always a bottom layer that holds up the rest of the pyramid.

Robert Mueller should resign

Forgive yourself if you are confused about developments in the Russia, Russia, Russia storyline. In fact, there are so many moving parts that you shouldn’t trust anybody who isn’t confused.

Consider this, then, a guide to the perplexed, where we start with two things that are certain. First, special counsel Robert Mueller will never be able to untangle the tangled webs with any credibility and needs to step aside.

Mueller, whose office is apparently leaking the “secret” news that a grand jury has approved charges against an unidentified defendant, assumed his role with one big conflict, his relationship with his successor at the FBI, James Comey. That conflict has morphed into several more that are fixable only by resignation.

GOP Would Rather Lose than Fight

America is at war. Not with a particular country, in spite of our endless entanglements in the Middle East. Instead the war is against a more nebulous enemy. One that goes by many names. The status quo. The deep state. The establishment. The elites.

The enemy is everywhere. Media, entertainment, sports, academia, and among the ruling class in Washington, DC. A ruthless enemy, barbarians, willing to keep fighting despite setbacks and defeat. Singleminded in focus, the enemy wants to “fundamentally transform America”, creating a “new world order,” to borrow phrases from both sides of the political aisle.

Who are the opponents? Who is pushing back? One might think the Republican Party is the resistance to the progressive enemy. A slide toward socialism, communism, fascism, or any other “ism” leaving the anointed ones in power deciding for the masses what is best, how they should live, what they should think, how they should behave.

Yet the GOP is not pushing back, instead its members acquiescing or cowering in fear of being called mean names by the prominent newspapers and television networks. Acting like wimps. Not willing to fight, to teach, to explain -- the only way to win this war.

Paul Manafort Indictment: No Signs of Trump-Russia ‘Collusion’

Do not be fooled by the “Conspiracy against the United States” heading.

The Paul Manafort indictment is much ado about nothing . . . except as a vehicle to squeeze Manafort, which is special counsel Robert Mueller’s objective — as we have been arguing for three months (see here, here, and here).

Do not be fooled by the “Conspiracy against the United States” heading on Count One (page 23 of the indictment). This case has nothing to do with what Democrats and the media call “the attack on our democracy” (i.e., the Kremlin’s meddling in the 2016 election, supposedly in “collusion” with the Trump campaign). Essentially, Manafort and his associate, Richard W. Gates, are charged with (a) conspiring to conceal from the U.S. government about $75 million they made as unregistered foreign agents for Ukraine, years before the 2016 election (mainly, from 2006 through 2014), and (b) a money-laundering conspiracy.

Democratic Senators Accepted Thousands From Tony Podesta For 2018 Campaigns

Seven Democratic senators have accepted donations for their 2018 campaigns from Democratic super-lobbyist Tony Podesta, FEC files show.

Special counsel Robert Mueller is reportedly probing the Podesta Group as part of his investigation into Russian influence operations within the United States. Tony Podesta, whose brother John was Hillary Clinton’s campaign chair in 2016, resigned from the group on Monday following increasing scrutiny into his group’s lobbying activities for foreign entities.

Six Democratic senators that Podesta gave money to are up for re-election in 2018 in states that Trump won.

Trump Calls On Podesta Bros To "Drain The Swamp" By Revealing "Earth Shattering" Dirt On Dems

As the mainstream media circus ran wild with the Paul Manafort indictment yesterday, Trump, who repeatedly dismissed the charges as being unrelated to his campaign, has just tweeted that the biggest story revealed yesterday, a story which was largely ignored by the "fake news", was Tony Posesta's sudden resignation from the powerful lobbying group that bears his name.

Meanwhile, Trump also seemingly called on the Podesta brothers to "Drain the Swamp" by dishing whatever "earth shattering" dirt they have on Democrats to Special Counsel Mueller.

"The biggest story yesterday, the one that has the Dems in a dither, is Podesta running from his firm. What he know about Crooked Dems is earth shattering. He and his brother could Drain The Swamp, which
would be yet another campaign promise fulfilled. Fake News weak!"

Virginia Dems stand by ad showing Gillespie supporter trying to mow down children

Democrat candidate for Virginia governor Ralph Northam is not distancing himself from the controversial ad suggesting supporters of Republican candidate Ed Gillespie are seen as Confederates who attack minority children.

The new opposition ad titled “American Nightmare” was released Monday by Democrat group Latino Victory Fund (LVF) and is scheduled to run through Election Day. The opposition ad shows minority children seemingly being chased by a driver in a pickup truck, decked out with a Confederate flag, a “Gillespie for governor” bumper sticker and a “Don’t tread on me” license plate.

The driver makes his way toward the scared children who shout, “Run! Run! Run!” when they see the truck. The ad concludes with a scene of a Charlottesville-like rally, with a narrator asking: “Is this what Donald Trump and Ed Gillespie mean by the ‘American Dream?’”

In a statement to Fox News, Gillespie’s campaign manager Chris Leavitt called the latest ad part of “a desperate smear campaign” against Gillespie.

“This is not an attack on Ed Gillespie anymore. This is an all-out attack on the people of Virginia,” Leavitt told Fox News.

Paul Ryan Ignoring National Reciprocity for 43rd Consecutive Week

It is October 31 and House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) is ignoring national reciprocity legislation for the 43rd consecutive week.

National reciprocity was introduced by Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC) on January 3, 2017, and law-abiding citizens have been waiting for Congress to take up the measure ever since.

The wait is fast-approaching a year, yet Ryan remains mum on the legislation. President Trump signaled that he wanted national reciprocity early in his campaign. Breitbart News reported Trump’s conviction that “concealed carry…is a right, not a privilege.” He used a September 18, 2015, policy position paper to explain his support of national reciprocity, saying:

"The right of self-defense doesn’t stop at the end of your driveway. That’s why I have a concealed carry permit and why tens of millions of Americans do too. That permit should be valid in all 50 states. A driver’s license works in every state, so it’s common sense that a concealed carry permit should work in every state. If we can do that for driving – which is a privilege, not a right – then surely we can do that for concealed carry, which is a right, not a privilege."

But Ryan’s only statements on national reciprocity to date were those he spoke to Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) after the June 14, 2017, Alexandria attack. Ryan told Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) that “he didn’t think the time was right” for legislation revolving around reciprocity.

Therefore, while Ryan enjoys taxpayer-funded armed security wherever he goes..

500 Years Later, Martin Luther's Legacy Lives On

Today marks the 500th anniversary of one of the most transformational and contentious days in all of Christendom. It’s the day that a lowly German monk, Martin Luther, nailed his 95 theses to the door of Wittenberg Castle Church, challenging many of the teachings of the Catholic Church and creating a schism in the church that would launch the Protestant Reformation, reverberating throughout the centuries.

To Catholics, the teachings of Luther were and are a heresy that challenged the power of the universal church, sowing confusion and disunity, leaving factions where there was once a unified body of Christ. To Protestants, it was a needed challenge to a Catholic hierarchy that had grown decadent and abused its power, corrupting the pure doctrines of Christ as revealed through Holy Scripture, growing wealthy and powerful by making its priestly class the sole conduit through which the will of God was revealed to mankind.

Martin Luther was an unlikely candidate to be the catalyst for such a monumental change. Born in 1483 in Eisleben, Germany, Luther was the son of a businessman who sent his son to law school so young Martin could return to assist in the family’s business endeavors. As the story goes, the boy Martin was one day trapped in a terrible storm and prayed that if God would spare him, he would dedicate his life to serving God by joining the priesthood. Martin kept his word and became a monk.

As Luther studied the Bible with deepening intensity, he struggled more and more to reconcile what he read there with the teachings of the Catholic Church. Especially egregious to him was the Catholic practice of issuing indulgences; essentially purchasing forgiveness for sins, whether one’s own or one’s already deceased relatives. It was the zealousness with which a local priest, Johann Tetzel, sold indulgences to the poor in exchange for promises of salvation of the souls of their families from purgatory that led Luther to write his 95 theses. He declared the supremacy of the Bible and expounded his views of salvation through grace alone.

Former Clinton Spokeswoman: Northam ‘Supports Sanctuary Cities

Adrienne Elrod, a former communications director for Hillary Clinton's failed presidential campaign, admitted on Tuesday that Virginia's Democratic gubernatorial candidate Ralph Northam "supports sanctuary cities."

Appearing on Fox News' "America's Newsroom," Elrod criticized the Republican gubernatorial candidate, Ed Gillespie, for tying Northam to sanctuary cities for illegal immigrants.

"Ed Gillespie has essentially blamed Ralph Northam for MS-13 violence because he casted the deciding vote to support sanctuary cities in Virginia, which by the way, there are no sanctuary cities in Virginia," Elrod said.

The Republican-controlled Virginia General Assembly considered legislation back in February aimed at banning sanctuary cities, which are localities that will not detain and deport people who are in the country illegally. The vote ended up being a 20-20 tie, so Northam, the lieutenant governor, cast the tie-breaking vote against the bill.

National Review editor Rich Lowry asked Elrod why Northam would cast the deciding vote against the ban on sanctuary cities..

A mysterious message is locking Google Docs users out of their files

Imagine you're working on a Google Doc when, seemingly out of nowhere, your ability to edit the online file gets revoked. What you see instead is an error message indicating that you've violated Google's terms of service.

For anyone who stores work in the cloud, suddenly being unable to access your data — especially due to a terms of service violation — may sound scary. And it's really happening to some people, according to reports on Twitter. Rachael Bale, a wildlife crime reporter for National Geographic, said Tuesday that a draft of her story was "frozen" by Google.

In response to some of these reports, a Google employee tweeted that the team handling Google Docs was looking into the matter. Later Tuesday, Google said in a statement that it had "made a code push that incorrectly flagged a small percentage of Google Docs as abusive, which caused those documents to be automatically blocked. A fix is in place and all users should have full access to their docs."

Although the error appeared to be a technical glitch, the fact that Google is capable of identifying "bad" Google Docs at all is a reminder: Much of what you upload, receive or type to Google is monitored. While many people may be aware that Gmail scans your emails — for instance, so that its smart-reply feature can figure out what responses to suggest — this policy extends to other Google products, too.

Dying Malls Increasingly Rely On Taxpayer Handouts For Survival

America's dying malls have been a frequent topic of discussion of late as these relics of the 80's have been forced to convert once valuable high-end retail square footage into grocery stores, libraries and doctor offices just to keep the lights on. Here's just a small sampling of the recent carnage:

A Third Of All Shopping Malls Are Projected To Close As 'Space Available' Signs Go Up All Over America

Failing Malls Turn Empty Parking Lots Into Carnivals To Generate Cash

But, as Bloomberg points out today, one other funding source is increasingly emerging as a key financial sponsor in the efforts of commercial REITs to re-purpose their failing assets: taxpayers.

In Brookfield, Wisconsin, for example, the city is using tax-increment financing (TIF), a common tool for municipalities to subsidize development by putting property taxes from new projects into a fund that pays for building cost, to help rebuild the Brookfield Square Mall. Meanwhile, as if that weren't enough, the city has also agreed to pay for remediation costs related an old Sears auto repair shop and to build a new convention center and hotel where the Sears once stood.

Mueller Has Democrats Sweating Bullets

Special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation is far from over. Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort and two other men were indicted Monday on charges unrelated to “colluding with Russia.” There are now rumors of up to four more pending indictments, but the identity of those individuals is still a mystery. As we warned when the special council was announced, Mueller can take this investigation wherever he wants. Recall that after the Whitewater investigation, Bill Clinton was eventually brought before Congress on perjury charges that were unrelated to the reason for initiating that investigation in the first place. As for Mueller’s investigation, National Review’s Andrew McCarthy notes, “After all these months of investigation, the much-anticipated Manafort charges turned out to be unrelated to Russian meddling in the 2016 election, let alone to any purported Trump-campaign collusion therein.”

What is an interesting development is the fact that after news broke of Manafort being charged, Democrat lobbyist Tony Podesta resigned from his own lobbying firm, the Podesta Group, which he started with his brother and Hillary Clinton campaign manager John Podesta. As the ship begins to sink, the rats start to flee..

As Under Armour Collapses, CEO Builds Elitist Hotel & Whiskey Distillery

Earlier, we reported on Under Armour’s epic stock collapse down over -75% from its September 2015 highs. This is one stock Central Bankers forgot to buy. Today’s stock crash -15% is being felt across Baltimore once again, city streets are eerily calm, as the latest round of millennials who ‘bought the dip’ called in sick this morning. Something tells us, the avocado and toast breakfast will be sadly missed by many….

Bloomberg sums up today’s terrible earnings report blamed on ‘shortfall on operational disruptions from a recent technology systems transition’, and also provides a dismal macro outlook for the company.

Even international’s 34% constant currency growth represents “significant deceleration” from 2Q’s 54% growth, Nikic writes in note.

Gross margin (GM) continue to come under pressure (down 130bps y/y in 3Q), and 4Q forecast implies even worse margin erosion: GM implied down 350-400bps, which would be 4th straight year 4Q GM declined >150bps, would result in 1,000bps of cumulative erosion since 4Q13.

UAA business continues to come under pressure due to macro headwinds, off-trend product assortment (focus on technical/performance rather than casual/lifestyle), internal operational issues warranting underperform rating.

In terms of trades, Kevin Plank (CEO) appears to be a genius - selling stock at highs. According to his Form 4s, he’s sold over $145 million worth of paper even during the stock collapse.

"You Get Nothing" - World's Largest Insurer Warns US Stocks Offer "No Returns" For The Next Decade

There will be "almost no prospective returns" from U.S. stocks over the next decade because the market is fully valued following years of gains, according to the global strategist at Allianz Global Investors, which manages $569 billion.

As Bloomberg reports, low interest rates and bond purchases by central banks have left cash and many other asset classes "significantly mispriced," Neil Dwane said Monday as part of a panel discussion on long-term investing at the Toronto Global Forum.

"The U.S. is fully valued," said Dwane, whose firm is owned by Munich-based insurance giant Allianz SE.

"There’s almost no prospective returns for the next 10 years from the U.S. equity market, and therefore investors have to look into Asia or Europe where valuations are significantly lower."

With interest rates close to zero around the world and bond markets "manipulated by central banks," it’s difficult to assess risk and return, he added.

Many investors have turned to high-yield bonds or emerging markets for income, which raises risks.

Watchdog: Ryan Challenger Failed to File Disclosure Form in Time

A watchdog group has filed a complaint against a Democratic challenger of House Speaker Paul Ryan (R., Wis.) for failing to file a financial disclosure form within thirty days of announcing his candidacy and raising $5,000, as required by federal law.

The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT), a D.C.-based government watchdog organization, filed the complaint this week with the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Ethics against Randy Bryce, a Democratic activist and ironworker who is running in the Democratic primary, over his failure to abide by disclosure laws.

Bryce initially filed his statement of candidacy on June 19 with the Federal Election Commission (FEC). Under Federal law, a House candidate is required to file a financial disclosure form within thirty days of "qualifying as a candidate by either raising or spending more than $5,000," the complaint notes.

US Companies add most workers in seven Month- ADP Data Show

Companies added more workers than forecast to U.S. payrolls in October, indicating hiring snapped back after hurricanes Harvey and Irma, according to data released Wednesday from the ADP Research Institute in Roseland, New Jersey.

The report indicates resilience in the labor market and is consistent with other data that show the economy is recovering from the tropical storms. Employment is expanding as businesses remain optimistic about the outlook, at the same time employers face the challenge of finding skilled workers as the job market is tightening. The ADP results are also a sign that the government will report Friday a rebound in private payrolls for October.

The surge in construction employment probably shows greater demand for labor to rebuild homes and businesses in the hurricane-stricken areas of Texas and Florida.

White House Chief of Staff Calls for Special Counsel to Probe Democrats

‘We need to find someone who is very, very objective who can get to the bottom of these accusations’

White House Chief of Staff John Kelly said on Monday a special counsel should be appointed to investigate Democrats over a uranium deal during the Obama administration and a dossier compiled on Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign.

“I think probably as a layman looking at this kind of thing we need to find someone who is very, very objective who can get to the bottom of these accusations,” Kelly said in an interview on Fox News.

A special counsel would be appointed by the Justice Department.

Republicans in Congress last week launched an investigation into an Obama-era deal in which a Russian company bought a Canadian firm that owned some 20 percent of U.S. uranium supplies.

Anti-Gillespie Ad Depicting Violent Driver Pulled After NYC Truck Attack

WaPo editorial: 'Sad' it took attack in New York to make group realize ad was 'out of bounds'

An ad depicting a rampaging truck driver who supports Virginia's Republican gubernatorial candidate Ed Gillespie has been canceled after a truck attack occurred in New York City, killing eight.

Latino Victory Fund pulled the ad following the truck attack and issued a statement claiming that the ad was able to "ruffle feathers" as they expected. The organization's president Cristóbal J. Alex did not apologize but merely said "events" caused them to remove the ad.

"We knew our ad would ruffle feathers. We held a mirror up to the Republican Party, and they don't like what they see," Alex said. "We have decided to pull our ad at this time."

"Given recent events, we will be placing other powerful ads into rotation that highlight the reasons we need to elect progressive leaders in Virginia," he added.

ESPN lost 480,000 Subscribers in October

There are a variety of ways, in which businesses judge whether they’re having a successful business day. However, if you’re losing over 15,000 customers a day, that is generally frowned upon.

No doubt, there are many frowns being worn on the faces of ESPN executives after reviewing the October Cable Coverage Estimates. ESPN lost over 15,000 subscribers for every day ending in “y,” during the month of October.

To put that into perspective, that’s the equivalent of losing Sacramento, California, the 35th largest city in the country, in a month. While many would welcome the loss of Sacramento, for a variety of reasons, when discussing losing a city of that size in a ratings context, it’s horrifying.

So Where Are the Podesta Indictments?

If Paul Manafort is guilty of failing to register as an agent of a foreign government, something that occurred when Manafort was not running the Trump campaign, then so is Tony Podesta, the brother of Hillary Clinton campaign manager, who is also up to his eyeballs in collusion between the Democrats and Hillary Clinton and Russia and Ukraine:

One of Washington's most powerful lobbying firms did not disclose the wide extent of its lucrative political work for a Ukrainian group tied to both onetime Trump adviser Paul Manafort and to pro-Russian politicians, new records show.

The firm, the Podesta Group, said nothing in a 2012 lobbying report to Congress about at least 32 meetings, emails and other communications it had with the State Department, at a time when Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was scrutinizing Ukraine's upcoming election, records show.

Members of Scientific Boards Received $77 Million From EPA While Advising Agency

Environmental Protection Agency administrator Scott Pruitt said Tuesday the days of "political science" are over at the agency, announcing a new conflict of interest policy that prevents individuals sitting on EPA scientific boards from receiving grants from the agency.

Under the last three years of the Obama administration, members sitting on just three of the agency's scientific advisory boards received $77 million in EPA grants. Pruitt said individuals advising in policy and regulatory matters should be completely independent of the EPA.

"These federal advisory committees are very, very important to agencies and how they conduct their business in the rule-making process," Pruitt said.

MSM: Crime To Investigate Hillary Clinton Ties To Russia

Desperation at its finest

As the public has finally began to realize the extent of the corruption surrounding Hillary Clinton, including the now infamous Russia Uranium One deal, the mainstream media has gone into hyper-drive to discredit and distract from documented facts and are now going as far as to float the idea that Trump may be committing a crime for simply investigation Clinton at all.

That’s right, in the sick world of the establishment media, Trump is committing a criminal act by even considering an investigation into shady Clinton dealings with the Russians. After all, she is above the law right?

Even more disgusting, the so-called reporters spewing this nonsense are using the fact that Mueller is conducting a deep state operation (now discredited) against the president that accuses him of working with Russia to win the election when in reality it is the exact opposite. In other words, Trump is being accused of something he didn’t do but because of this, he can’t investigate real crimes committed by Clinton.

Absolutely unbelievable.

DRUDGE: 93% of Mueller's grand jury pool voted for Hillary

Drudge took to Twitter on Monday to highlight the partisan influence.
