At current pace, Democrats can obstruct for 8 weeks on Trump’s pending circuit court nominees

The Senate spent this entire week confirming just five of President Trump’s circuit court picks. At that rate, it would take nearly eight weeks of working every day and doing nothing else — no tax overhaul, no year-end spending bills, no debt increase, no Children’s Health Insurance Program extension — to confirm the 47 other judicial nominees the president has pending.

And if Mr. Trump were to announce nominations for the 100 other federal court vacancies, it would take another four months — through the beginning of May, with the Senate doing nothing else — to confirm them.

Beneath the major policy fights, Republicans and Democrats are locked in a fierce battle in the Senate over the direction of the federal courts. Mr. Trump and his allies are moving with extraordinary speed to put as many of his nominees on the bench as possible, while Democrats have erected an unprecedented level of hurdles, forcing the chamber to spin its wheels for up to 30 hours per nominee under Senate rules.

The outcome is rarely in doubt, with Republicans flexing their majority to confirm nominees without any Democratic support. But the amount of time it’s taking has become a sore spot.

DOJ petitions Supreme Court, accuses ACLU of lying

The Justice Department accused the ACLU of lying in a federal court case about the timing of an illegal immigrant girl’s abortion, and asked the Supreme Court to take the case and overturn a decision that critics say creates a constitutional right for illegal immigrants to have abortions in the U.S.

The administration said the American Civil Liberties Union rushed the 17-year-old illegal immigrant to get an abortion in order to prevent any chance for more legal wrangling last month.

Justice Department lawyers said they’d been preparing to ask the Supreme Court to take up the case, but the ACLU’s speedy abortion for the girl identified in court documents only as “J.D.” short-circuited that.

“The government planned to seek an emergency stay from this Court before Ms. Doe could obtain an abortion,” the brief reads. “Ms. Doe’s appointment was changed so that instead of obtaining counseling at 7:30 a.m. on October 25, she would undergo an abortion at 4:15 a.m. that morning, just hours before the government planned to file its stay application.”

The Justice Department alleges the ACLU did not notify the government of the change.

Surprise: Democrats are lying about Republican tax plan

The Washington Post's fact-checker said Thursday that Democrats aren't telling the truth when they say the Republican tax plan would raise taxes on most middle-class families.

In an early Thursday morning story, fact-checker Glenn Kessler gave Democrats four Pinocchios for making that claim. According to the Post, four Pinocchios are reserved for claims that are "whoppers."

"In their haste to condemn the GOP tax plan, Democrats have spread far and wide the false claim that families making less than $86,100 on average will face a hefty tax hike," he wrote. "Actually, it’s the opposite."

"Most families in that income range would get a tax cut," he added. "Any Democrat who spread this claim should delete their tweets and make clear they were in error."

Kessler noted that Senate Democrats, including Kamala Harris of California, Bob Casey of Pennsylvania, and Jeff Merkley of Oregon, tweeted that the average tax hike for families making up to $86,100 would be about $794.

LA Times Columnist: Huckabee Sanders Looks Like ‘Slightly Chunky Soccer Mom’

A Los Angeles Times columnist penned a column this week that attacked at length the appearance of White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist David Horsey wrote Wednesday that "Sarah Huckabee Sanders is the right mouthpiece for a truth-twisting president."

"Sarah Huckabee Sanders does not look like the kind of woman Donald Trump would choose as his chief spokesperson," he opened, unfavorably comparing the press secretary to the "sleek beauties with long legs and stiletto heels to represent his interests and act as his arm candy."

Horsey continued, saying that compared to Ivanka and Melania Trump, "Sanders looks more like a slightly chunky soccer mom who organizes snacks for the kids’ games."

"Rather than the fake eyelashes and formal dresses she puts on for news briefings, Sanders seems as if she’d be more comfortable in sweats and running shoes," the columnist added.

American Legion: Majority Vets Support Marijuana Legalization

Veterans are nearly unanimous in their support for research on medical marijuana — and a majority favor legalizing pot for medical use, an American Legion survey found.

The findings from the nation's largest wartime veterans' service organization were released Thursday, and involved more than 1,300 respondents.

According to the survey, 92 percent of veteran households support research into the efficacy of medical cannabis for mental and physical conditions, and 83 percent believe the federal government should legalize medical cannabis nationwide.

Further, 82 percent of those survey indicated they would want to have medical cannabis as a federally legal treatment option.

Dem Rep Shrugs Off Donna Brazile’s DNC Allegations as a ‘Distraction’

Rep. Mike Quigley (D., Ill.) shrugged off Donna Brazile's claims about the 2016 Democratic presidential primaries being rigged in favor of Hillary Clinton as a "distraction."

CNN's Poppy Harlow asked Quigley on Friday about Brazile's claims, which have highlighted divisions within the Democratic Party.

"It is, indeed, a distraction and it's just one more example of insulting the American public, ‘look at this shiny object instead of the most important investigation in our country's history since Watergate,’" Quigley said. "The allegations that she talks about in the book are well worth investigating. The Democratic Party needs to look at itself long and hard to make sure our process is appropriate, but it is by no means comparable to what's taking place in the Mueller investigation."

FBI Deputy Director McCabe Did Not Recuse Himself from the Clinton Email Investigation until Week Before Presidential Election

His Wife’s Campaign Received $700,000 from Clinton Friends

On Friday, Judicial Watch released Justice Department records showing that FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe did not recuse himself from the investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s unsecure, non-government email server until Tuesday, November 1, 2016, one week prior to the presidential election. The Clinton email probe was codenamed “Midyear Exam.”

While working as Assistant Director in Charge of the Washington Field Office, McCabe controlled resources supporting the investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s email scandal. An October 2016 internal FBI memorandum labeled “Overview of Deputy Director McCabe’s Recusal Related To Dr. McCabe’s Campaign for Political Office,” details talking points about McCabe’s various potential conflicts of interest, including the FBI’s investigation of Clinton’s illicit server, which officially began in July 2015:

The Overview also shows if asked whether McCabe played any role in his wife’s campaign, the scripted response was: “No. Then-[Assistant Director] McCabe played no role, attended no events and did not participate in fundraising or support of any kind.”

In June 2017, Circa reported that social media photos showed “McCabe wearing a T-shirt supporting his wife’s campaign during a public event and then posting a photo on social media urging voters to join him in voting for his wife.” The Justice Department IG is investigating whether McCabe properly disclosed payments to his wife’s campaign on his ethics report, as well as possible Hatch Act violations.

The crony academic networks that funded research grants have been busted up by EPA’s Pruitt, illustrating again his grasp of how the DC Swamp works and his willingness to take bold action to reform it as he did when he repealed the “Waters of the US” Act. Dr. Bonner Cohen joins David Knight to break it down.

The Amazing True Story Of How Hillary Clinton Secretly Cheated Bernie Sanders Out Of A Fair Shot At The Democratic Nomination

In the end, it was all about the money

Yes, Hillary Clinton really did steal the Democratic nomination from Bernie Sanders, but most people have absolutely no idea how she actually did it.

In the end, it was all about the money. A secret joint fundraising agreementthat was made between the Democratic National Committee, the Hillary Victory Fund, and Hillary for America gave the Clinton campaign full control of the Democratic Party nearly a year before she officially won the nomination. Normally, a presidential candidate for a major party would only be permitted to take full control once the nomination had been secured. But in Hillary’s case, her campaign had a stranglehold over the Democratic National Committee virtually the entire time she was engaged in a heated battle with Bernie Sanders for the Democratic nomination.

In her new book entitled Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-ins and Breakdowns that Put Donald Trump in the White House, Donna Brazile gives us the inside scoop about what really happened inside the DNC during this time period. When she first took over the DNC, she actually had no idea of what had transpired, and when she finally discovered the truth it absolutely horrified her. On Thursday, Politico published an excerpt from Brazile’s new book in an article entitled “Inside Hillary Clinton’s Secret Takeover of the DNC”

Gregg Jarrett: Hillary Clinton's scheme in 'rigging' the nomination may have been criminal

Hillary Clinton has spent a year crying about how the presidency was stolen from her. Turns out, she stole the Democratic nomination from Bernie Sanders.

The stunning revelation from former Democratic National Committee interim chairperson Donna Brazile that Clinton secretly rigged the primary process by commandeering the DNC should come as no surprise to anyone. Clinton is nothing, if not unethical and corrupt. She always has been. This is precisely why pre-election polls consistently showed that a majority of Americans found her dishonest and untrustworthy.

The critical question now is whether she committed crimes in her theft of the nomination.

The Scheme

According to Brazile, the DNC went broke under the leadership of Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz. This dire circumstance presented a perfect scenario for Clinton to seize command of the party apparatus by paying off its debt of roughly $20 million dollars. But in exchange, the DNC executed a written, albeit hidden, agreement transferring to Clinton the committee’s finances, strategy, and money raised -- all to the benefit of Clinton and to the detriment of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, her primary opponent.

School segregates cafeteria based on GPA

A Florida high school is segregating its students by grade point average during lunch — a move that has drawn a firestorm of criticism, according to reports.

Hudson HS in Pasco County launched the program, which is aimed to give to students more incentive to get better grades, at the start of the school year, FOX 13 News reported.

Under the program, students are classified as either “on track” or “off-track” to graduate based on their grades and attendance.

Students who are “on track” have a GPA higher than a 2.0, have no more than four absences in any class, have no F’s on their report card and must earn all credits each semester, students at school told the news outlet.

They’re also given a special red wristband that says “on track” and are granted privileges that allow them to have lunch outside the cafeteria in either the school’s common area or lounge, according to the report.

"Hopelessly Compromised": Judiciary Member Calls For Mueller's Resignation Over Uranium One Scandal

Earlier this morning House Judiciary Committee representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) submitted a resolution calling for Robert Mueller to resign as special counsel overseeing the FBI investigation of possible collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government saying, among other things, that the former FBI director is "hopelessly compromised" as a result of his failed oversight of the controversial Uranium One transaction. Here is an excerpt from a press release posted to Gaetz's website earlier today:

“Evidence has emerged that the FBI withheld information from Congress and from the American people about Russian corruption of American uranium companies. A confidential U.S. witness, working in the Russian nuclear industry, revealed that Russia had deeply compromised an American uranium trucking firm through bribery and financial kickbacks.

Although federal agents possessed this information in 2010, the Department of Justice continued investigating this “matter” for over four years. The FBI, led at the time by Robert Mueller, required the confidential witness to sign a non-disclosure agreement. When the witness attempted to contact Congress and federal courts about the bribery and corruption he saw, he was threatened with legal action. By silencing him, Obama’s Justice Department and Mueller’s FBI knowingly kept Congress in the dark about Russia’s significant and illegal involvement with American uranium companies.

These deeply troubling events took place when Mr. Mueller was the Director of the FBI. As such, his impartiality is hopelessly compromised. He must step down immediately,” Rep. Gaetz said in a statement.

West OC wants more rental regs

County administrator says controlling short-term units will require long-term effort
The debate about the location of short-term rentals in residential neighborhoods has spread to West Ocean City, and Worcester County Administrator Harold Higgins said lax regulation of rentals there is in his sights.

Still, controlling the situation will take a long-term strategy, he told members of the West Ocean City Association that gathered last Thursday at the Lions Club Den on Airport Road.

Higgins added that he plans to revamp the permit system that allows landlords to rent houses in residential neighborhoods, since an influx of J-1 visa students have moved across the bridge.

Approximately 345 J-1 visa students rented in West Ocean City last summer, as affordable housing in the resort is scarce.

One of the ideas Higgins advocated is implementing a flat fee on the “tourism permit,” which is required for rentals to four or more people for less than six months.

“Right now, [the fee] is reported on a honor system. They tell us what they rent, and we’re supposed to collect a percent out of that,” Higgins said. “I’m trying to be clear — the county was not set up to assume a rental market. Things have changed. The only way I’ll get there is to make it a budgetary item and start appropriating money.”

Pat Buchanan: "'Their' America... And 'Ours'"

“Meet you at Peace Cross.”

In northwest D.C. in the 1950s, that was an often-heard comment among high schoolers headed for Ocean City.

The Peace Cross, in Bladensburg, Maryland, was a 40-feet concrete memorial to the 49 sons of Prince George’s County lost in the Great War. Paid for by county families and the American Legion, it had stood since 1925.

Before the Beltway was built, Peace Cross, at the junction of U.S. Route 1 and Maryland Route 450, was a landmark to us all.

Last month, two federal judges from the 4th Circuit ruled that Peace Cross “excessively entangles the government and religion” and must come down.

A suggested compromise was to saw the arms off, so the monument ceases to be an offensive cross.

One wonders: At what moment did Peace Cross begin to violate the Constitution?

Answer: Never. No alteration has been made to the cross in a century. The change has come in the minds of intolerant judges and alienated elites where the dirty creek of anti-Christian bigotry now flows into the polluted stream of anti-Americanism.

Both are manifest in the rampage to rip down memorials to the men who brought Western Civilization to the New World and made America the great and good country we were blessed to inherit.

Monday, on Laura Ingraham’s Fox News show, White House Chief of Staff Gen. John Kelly called Robert E. Lee “an honorable man,” who chose to defend the people among whom he had been raised.

Hungary Asks ‘Is Everyone Entitled to Religious Freedom Except for Christians?’

Hungary has offered to take a Christian cross which the French authorities say must be removed from a statue of Pope John Paul II in Brittany.

The courts had originally ruled that the entire statue, donated to the small town of Ploërmel by a Russian artist, must be torn down, but now say it may remain provided the cross is decapitated, prompting the mayor who received it to complain of “an attack on a part of our culture”.

The ruling has also caused considerable upset in the late pontiff’s native Poland, where he is revered as a symbol of Poland’s struggle to free itself from the Communist yoke by many, including the current government.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó told reporters that Budapest had contacted the town offering to arrange for the cross to be saved and transported to his country, where it would be received by the Saint Benedict Secondary and High School.

“Such measures must be regarded as attempts to do away with the continent’s civilisation and culture”, the minister warned, describing attempts to remove Christian symbols from public life in the name of tolerance as “astounding self-deprecation” and “hugely damaging”.

He added that large-scale illegal immigration was endangering Europe’s Christian nature and that newcomers less keen to abandon their cultural identity would overwrite local customs.

"The System Needs A Death-Wish Coffee-Enema!"

What America might want to know right now is: how come Hillary Clinton doesn’t have any legal problems?

Why aren’t DOJ investigators examining the financial records of the Clinton Foundation? You would think somebody would want to find out how over $120 million of Russian “charitable donations” ended up on its ledgers around the time that Secretary of State HRC approved the Uranium One deal — compared to which, Bill Clinton’s $500,000 payment from a Russian bank for giving a speech around the same time just looks like walking-around money.

This is not to mention (well, I will) the flow of donations from Saudi Arabia pending approval of a major arms deal by HRC.

Or of myriad other donations from foreign nationals tendered simply for face-time with the Secretary. Has any other cabinet officer in US history run a money-gathering org while serving? I don’t think so. Maybe the arrant selling of influence right out-front strains the credulity of government auditors. And while we’re at this, I would like to know how then-FBI director Robert Mueller and President Obama might have been informed about these activities. Or not?

Mr. Mueller also needs to answer about his relationship with former FBI director James Comey — he was apparently Mr. Comey’s mentor — while Mr. Comey needs to answer for his peculiar and probably lawless behavior in dismissing the investigation around HRC’s private email server — that was not his decision to make — and the notorious meeting at the Phoenix airport of former president Bill Clinton and Attorney General Loretta Lynch around the same time the email investigation under Mr. Comey came to a head.

Now comes the news from Donna Brazille, on-again-off-again Democrat Party chair, that the primary elections were elaborately rigged by HRC functionaries to buy control of her nomination.

Woman told her 90 acres now public after anonymous claim of grave

Questions where 'warrantless searches,' 'unbridled trespassing' are in Constitution

A Pennsylvania woman fighting her local government’s decision to open her private property to the public is demanding to know where in the U.S. Constitution one can find “warrantless searches” and “unbridled trespassing.”

The case is being presented to the U.S. Supreme Court, since state courts have insisted precedent doesn’t allow them to rule, and federal courts say they won’t take action until the state courts do something.

The suit was filed by Rose Mary Knick, who lives alone on about 90 acres of Pennsylvania land that has been in her family for nearly half a century.

Officials in Scott Township abruptly decided to create a law taking away the private property rights of landowners if anyone even suspects there was an old gravesite on the land.

No proof was necessary for the law to then require that the landowner provide daily public access for anyone to trespass.

Knick is asking the high court to overturn the law as a violation of her constitutionally protected property rights.

GOP Rep Mark Meadows Calls for End to the Carried Interest Loophole

Friday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” House Freedom Caucus chairman Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) elaborated on why he supports ending the carried interest loophole.

Meadows told “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough ending it would have to be done in a way that allowed for economic growth to continue. However, he added that the proceeds from ending that provision could be used for lowering taxes on the “middle-income” earners.

“You know, Joe, I think that will be one of those things that actually comes out, whether it’s in the mark-up going through the House or over in the Senate,” Meadows said. “I can tell you, I was in the Oval Office with the president when this very subject came up. And he was emphatic that like he was consistent on the campaign trail about those hedge fund managers and the carried interest provisions that he felt like it needed to be done away with. Obviously, you’ve got real estate developers and some of those that use it as part of the way they do business. So, trying to address that in a fair way that continues to allow for economic growth is key. But I can tell you the president himself has weighed in on this particular provision. I think at the end of the day, it will get addressed, whether it is in the House or the Senate or the final bill.”

Visa Lottery Chain Migration Imported 5 Million Foreigners Since 1994, Says Report

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The visa lottery has triggered a hidden wave of chain migration, and has delivered almost 5 million foreign nationals to the United States since 1994, says a new analysis.

New research by the Center for Immigration Studies reveals the enormous chain-migration impact of the visa lottery program, where 50,000 visas every year are given to foreign nationals from a multitude of countries. The countries include those with terrorist problems, including Afghanistan, Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Syria, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, Yemen, and Uzbekistan.

Foreign nationals from eligible countries can win the visa lottery if they have a high-school degree and two years of work experience. Once they win the green cards to permanently stay in the United States, the migrants can bring in their spouses and minor children. Each arrival can get citizenship in five years, and then begin choosing members of their extended family — including parents, siblings and their children — to also become U.S. residents and citizens, regardless of their character, education, ideology or security risks. This expanding, unscreened immigration system is known as “chain migration,” and it has more than doubled U.S. immigration rates during since the 1980s.

This Chart Warns America's Opioid Crisis Is About To Get Worse

The simple chart below from the United Nation’s Office on Drugs and Crime beautifully illustrates the next leg up in America’s opioid crisis.

If you thought today’s situation was bad - think again. Afghanistan, the world’s largest producer of opium just logged a record crop harvest this year doubling last year’s production. Some how - some way, Afghanistan’s opium will find its way into a neighborhood near you.

According to VOANEWS,

Last year, poppies were cultivated on 201,000 hectares, yielding 4,700 tons of opium, up 46 percent from 2015.

Sources told VOA’s Pashto service more than 10,000 tons of opium were produced this year. Opium then can be refined into heroin.

The U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime estimated that opium accounted for some 16 percent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product last year, including more than two-thirds of the entire agricultural sector.

In addition to fueling insecurity, violence and insurgency, the drug production is discouraging private and public investment, a UNODC report said.

This is a bad sign for President Trump who opted to call the opioid crisis a ‘public emergency’ rather than a full-blown ‘national emergency’.

Google Employees Defend Discrimination Against Conservatives

CNN recently published an in-depth piece exploring bias against conservatives in Silicon Valley. Internal discussions at Google, leaked exclusively to Breitbart News shine further light on the problem, revealing that conservative Googlers who voice concerns about political bias are often belittled and ignored by fellow employees.

A majority of Google employees have stated that the company culture has not improved since they joined the company, in an anonymous internal poll conducted shortly after the firing of viewpoint diversity advocate James Damore. In screengrabs of the discussion below the poll, one employee states a more specific concern: political intolerance.

Five Trump-Era Food Stamp Facts Everyone Should Hear

Food stamp usage under the Trump administration has taken a nosedive at both the state and national levels, thanks to federal and state policies giving people incentives to choose work over welfare.

But how much has food stamp enrollment declined under President Trump’s time in office and what is causing this nationwide decrease in food stamp usage?

Here are five facts about the decline in food stamp usage in the U.S. and how and why this is happening.

Assateague left out of fee increases at national parks

Assateague Island National Seashore is not among the parks exploring substantial entrance fee increases, announced early last week by the National Park Service, to address what it calls a “maintenance backlog.”

The park service will determine, after a 30-day public comment period ending Nov. 23, if the new fee structure will be implemented during peak tourist season.

It is accepting comments online through its website, or via regular mail sent to 1849 C Street NW, Mail Stop 2346, Washington DC 20240.

Peak season rates at the affected national parks are proposed to increase significantly, with the prices rivaling those of theme park admissions at Six Flags or Busch Gardens, according to the Washington Post.

All of the 17 affected parks admissions prices will increase to $70 per private, non-commercial vehicle, $50 per motorcycle or $30 per person.

Study: Immigrant Population in U.S. Booms to 44M, Majority from Mexico

WASHINGTON, D.C. — There is now a record level of immigrants living in the United States – standing at roughly 44 million people nationwide – who entered the U.S. both illegally and legally from a foreign country.

Research conducted by the Center for Immigration Studies’ Steven Camarota reveals the massive scope of the U.S. immigrant population, which has contributed to keeping American wages stagnant while driving up costs of social services.

Camarota’s research reveals that in 2016, there were between 43 and 45 million immigrants in the U.S., nearly quadruple the immigrant population in 2000.

Mexico, as noted by Camarota, has the largest group of legal and illegal foreign nationals in the U.S., with 1.1 million immigrants from the country arriving in the U.S. between 2010 and 2016. Mexican nationals make up roughly one in eight new arrivals to the U.S.

Grand Jury Indicts Man On Attempted Murder Charge

SNOW HILL — A Worcester County grand jury has formally indicted a Seaford, Del. man of attempted first-degree murder of an Ocean City police officer and numerous other counts following an incident in the resort in late September.

On Sept. 30, Antonio Ambrosino, 18, of Seaford, allegedly accelerated his vehicle toward and collided with an Ocean City Police Department (OCPD) officer and a Worcester County Sheriff’s deputy during an apparent drug deal. The struck officers were forced to fire their service weapons at Ambrosino’s vehicle as it sped away following the collision. Ambrosino was ultimately taken into custody after jumping into the bay around 41st Street following a multi-agency pursuit.

Last week, a Worcester County grand jury indicted Ambrosino on 15 total counts including attempted first-degree murder of an Ocean City Police officer, first-degree assault on the same OCPD officer, first-degree assault on a Worcester County Sheriff’s Deputy and a member of the Worcester County elite drug enforcement unit known as the Criminal Enforcement Team.

RNC's McEnany: DNC Scandal 'Pathetic;' Exposes Hillary as 'Corrupt, Selfish' and 'Entitled'

RNC Spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany discussed the GOP Tax Reform plan and Donna Brazile’s admission that the DNC rigged the 2016 Democratic primary for Hillary Clinton with Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Alex Marlow on Friday.

McEnany said Brazile exposed “a candidate that we knew for so long was corrupt, selfish, entitled – this was supposed to be a coronation, there was never supposed to be a challenge from the Left in the form of Bernie Sanders. This was about Hillary Clinton wearing the crown of Democratic nominee and not letting anyone get in the way.”

McEnany continued, “She was willing to be corrupt in the process, potentially violate campaign finance laws. She was laundering money paying off the DNC’s debt. Money was coming into the DNC from donors in this joint fundraising endeavor that was then being spiked in the backend to Hillary Clinton. It was a laundering scheme.”

“It was corruption at its height and it was really quite pathetic,” she concluded.

Incident Renews Importance Of Island’s Pet Laws

ASSATEAGUE — After an incident emerged related to dogs going after one of the wild horses on Assateague, National Park Service officials this week are reiterating the importance of the laws regarding pets on the barrier island.

Photos of two dogs harassing one of the famed wild horses on Assateague began circulating on social media platforms last weekend, prompting Assateague Island National Seashore officials to begin an investigation into the incident. Assateague Island National Seashore Chief of Interpretation and Education Liz Davis this week confirmed the incident was being investigated, but could not comment specifically on it because the investigation is ongoing. She did confirm the incident occurred last Saturday, but park officials were not notified until two days later on Monday.

Births down, deaths up, according to latest CDC estimates

As birth rates in the US continue to decline, deaths from age-related diseases are on the rise this year, according to new quarterly estimates released by the CDC today.

Deaths from cancer and HIV, on the other hand, are estimated to continue their steady declines, underscoring the successes of innovative treatments in the US, and infant mortality remains stable.

The CDC's numbers so far for 2017 confirm trends in US population growth decline that scientists and statisticians have observed in recent years.

The new stats come as baby boomers reach old age, and people are waiting longer to conceive and having fewer children than previous generations.

Police Commission Wants No More Public Property Rentals To Cruisin; Full Council To Review Proposed Motor Vehicle Action Plan

OCEAN CITY — The full Mayor and Council on Monday will get their first look at a plan of action to eliminate certain offseason vehicle-related special events, including the spring and fall classic car and fall H20i events, based on Police Commission recommendations formed during a closed session last month.

After arguably one of the worst motorized special event weekends ever in late September with the arrival of thousands of participants in a unsanctioned and ultimately canceled H2O International car show, the Mayor and Council promised bold action and perhaps painful solutions to ensure it doesn’t happen again. The police commission was tasked with drafting recommendations on how best to eliminate the events or at least curtail some of the illicit behavior associated with them.

To that end, during a closed Police Commission meeting on Oct. 13, the panel, which includes Mayor Rick Meehan and Councilmembers Dennis Dare, Wayne Hartman and Mary Knight, came up with a list of recommendations to forward to the full Mayor and Council. Highlighted on the long list of recommendations is sending a letter to the H2Oi promoter requesting the event be moved entirely out of Worcester or Wicomico counties.

‘Where Is Our Justice Department’ on Hillary Clinton?

President Donald Trump signaled frustration with the Justice Department’s falure to respond to the ongoing scandals involving the Clinton family, the DNC, the FBI, and the “phony” Russian sourced dossier.

“This is real collusion and dishonesty,” Trump wrote on Twitter Thursday night, responding to Donna Brazile’s revelation that Hillary Clinton’s campaign was controlling DNC operations and fundraising well before winning her primary.

“Major violation of Campaign Finance Laws and Money Laundering – where is our Justice Department?” Trump wondered.

Minnesota High School Requires English Course Aimed at Destroying 'White Privilege'

Edina High School in Edina, Minnesota, has come under fire this week over a new mandatory english course that aims to eradicate “white privilege.”

Katherine Kersten, a senior policy fellow for the Center of the American Experiment, discovered that the public Edina High School adopted an english course in 2013 that focuses on the the topics of colonization, immigration, and social constructions of race, class, and gender.

According to Kersten, the course “constitutes an abuse of parents’ trust, taxpayers’ money and — most importantly — vulnerable children,” she said. “Edina citizens should hold district leaders accountable for substituting political indoctrination for a real education.”

Kerstein and the Minnesota-based Center for the American Experiment began looking into the teaching practices of Edina High School after the school faced a backlash following the 2016 presidential election. According to parents, 80 staff members co-signed a statement that condemned President Trump and expressed support for the Democratic Party and Hillary Clinton.

“Many of you [students] have made clear … that right now, you don’t feel physically safe,” the statement read. “Know that we will do all that we can … to fight for you,” and that “we will teach rebellion against a broken world.”

Cotton: Repeal Individual Mandate as Part of Tax Reform

Sen. Tom Cotton (R., Ark.) called Thursday for the repeal of Obamacare's individual mandate as part of a larger tax reform plan, saying it would save the federal government up to $400 billion.

Cotton spoke in the Senate chamber and addressed concerns from Democrats who say that Republicans' tax reform will grow the national deficit.

"We can repeal the individual mandate of Obamacare and save $300 to 400 billion for the federal government and therefore deliver more tax relief to our families and our workers and our businesses," Cotton said. "That's not my math, that's the math of the Congressional Budget Office."

House Conservatives Chastise Mitch McConnell for Delaying 300 Bills

Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) and House conservatives chastised Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Thursday for holding up over 300 House-passed bills and urged the Senate to drop the legislative filibuster to enable the Republican-controlled Congress to pass President Donald Trump’s agenda.

Rep. Ken Buck, a member of the House Freedom Caucus, and other conservatives led a “special order” to take to the House floor to deliver speeches in sequence on a particular topic to draw attention to the importance of passing the Republican agenda.

Rep. Ken Buck told Breitbart News on Thursday, “The House has passed over 308 bills that now sit languishing in the Senate. We’ve passed legislation to protect Americans from violent illegal immigrant felons, to repeal Dodd-Frank, and to end late-term abortions. The American people expect the Senate to act, and tonight we’re going to take to the House floor to remind the upper chamber about all of the important bills we’ve sent their way.”

Former DNC Vice Chair: DNC ‘Secretly Chose’ Nominee Before Primary Even Started

A former vice chair of the Democratic National Committee called the 2016 Democratic primary process "rigged" for Hillary Clinton on Thursday, saying it was clear the DNC "secretly chose their nominee" before the primaries even started.

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D., Hawaii) made the remark in response to revelations by interim DNC chair Donna Brazile, who released a book excerpt Thursday stating the Clinton campaign effectively took over the DNC in 2015, nearly a year before Clinton actually clinched the nomination after a surprisingly hard-fought battle with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.).

"Today we heard from Donna Brazile that what many suspected for a long time, is actually true: the DNC secretly chose their nominee over a year before the primary elections even occurred, turning over DNC control to the Clinton campaign," Gabbard said, calling the 2016 primary "rigged," according to The Hill.

US strikes ISIS militants in Somalia, killing 'several terrorists'

Two U.S. airstrikes killed several Islamic State militants in northeastern Somalia on Friday, the military announced.

The strikes occurred midnight and 11 a.m. local time, and a statement from U.S. Africa Command said officials are assessing the results. The statement said the strikes were conducted in coordination with the government.

"U.S. forces will continue to use all authorized and appropriate measures to protect Americans and to disable terrorist threats," AFRICOM said, adding that targets include terrorists, training camps and "havens throughout Somalia."

MSNBC Panel Laughs at Schumer

MSNBC's "Morning Joe" panel laughed Friday at Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer's (D., N.Y.) claim that he didn't "follow" the 2016 Democratic primary after being asked to comment on charges it was rigged for Hillary Clinton.

In response to the revelations, top Democrats like Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) have stated the process was "rigged" in favor of Clinton.

In an excerpt of a longer interview, MSNBC's Kasie Hunt asked Schumer about Warren's statement and whether he agreed.

"I haven't read her book," Schumer said. "I don't know the details, so I'm not going to make a judgment on that."

"Do you have any concerns about the DNC's involvement in the primary in 2016?" Hunt asked.

"You know, again, I didn't follow it. I'd like to see what Donna Brazile has to say. I will read it, but—" Schumer started..

Donald Trump Challenges Jeff Sessions: ‘Where Is Our Justice Department’ on Hillary Clinton?

President Donald Trump signaled frustration with the Justice Department’s failure to respond to the ongoing scandals involving the Clinton family, the DNC, the FBI, and the “phony” Russian sourced dossier.

“A lot of people are disappointed in the Justice Department, including me,” Trump told reporters at the White House on Friday morning before leaving for his trip to Asia.

Trump said that the Justice Department should be investigating Democrats and the Clintons, sharing several observations on Twitter.

“This is real collusion and dishonesty,” Trump wrote on Twitter Thursday night, responding to Donna Brazile’s revelation that Hillary Clinton’s campaign was controlling DNC operations and fundraising well before winning her primary.

Pursuit Leads to Drug Arrest of a Laurel Man and a Second Suspect Still at Large- Georgetown

WANTED: Nevell Jones, 20 of Laurel
ARRESTED: Shaylan Hunt, 24 of Laurel

Georgetown - The Delaware State Police Sussex County Governors Task Force unit (GTF)have arrested a Laurel man after he led them on a pursuit in the Georgetown Area.

The incident occurred around 2:04 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2017 as members of the GTF unit attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a silver Hyundai Sonata on County Seat Highway east of Hardscrabble Road for a cell phone violation. The GTF detective, realizing the location of the stop would have put him in the roadway with traffic, instructed the operator, over the PA loud speaker, to pull his vehicle forward, ahead of the guard rail and completely onto the shoulder of the roadway. The detective remained in his vehicle awaiting for the operator to comply with his instructions. The operator began moving the vehicle forward and rather than pulling onto the shoulder, he accelerated and pulled back into the travel lane on County Seat Highway, fleeing the scene. A pursuit ensued with multiple GTF units, however sight of the vehicle was lost in the area of Asbury Road west of Georgetown. Later, GTF units were assisted by the Sussex County Drug unit, Georgetown Police Department, Troop 4 patrol units and Probation & Parole in search of the suspect vehicle. A short time later, Georgetown Police Officers located the suspect vehicle, unoccupied in parking lot of Delaware Technical Community College (Georgetown Owens Campus).

The passenger, later identified as 24-year-old Shaylan Hunt of Laurel, was observed standing in between buildings on the Delaware Tech campus talking on his cell phone. Officers were able to take him into custody without further incident. Hunt was found to be in possession of approximately 0.35 grams of cocaine and 2.37 grams of marijuana. Delaware Tech security put the campus on lock down as a precautionary measure while officers were searching the area for the operator, later identified as 20-year-old Nevell L. Jones of Laurel.

Hunt was transported back to Troop 4 in Georgetown where he was charged with Resisting Arrest, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Marijuana. Hunt was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $750.00 unsecured bond.

Active warrants are currently on file for the arrest of Nevell L. Jones. Charges include Disregarding a Police Officer Signal and Resisting Arrest. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to please contact Detective S. Callaway at 302-752-3826. Information may also be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333, via the internet at

It's an outlier, but a late poll hints at a GOP sweep in Virginia

"The Polling Company" is Kellyanne Conway's polling firm. And so when its latest poll shows an advantage for Republicans — and other polls don't — you should be skeptical.

That should be your first reaction when you hear that their latest release ahead of next week's election in Virginia shows that a Republican sweep is on the cards for governor (Ed Gillespie up by two points), lieutenant governor (Jill Vogel by three points) and attorney general (John Adams by one point).

How’s “diversity” working out for you?

Do the math and you will understand why we keep having terror attacks.

Why is this so complicated?

Especially after Tuesday’s jihadist slayings in Manhattan, the cry arose throughout the airwaves – why do these things keep happening?

So let me spell it out as simply as I can. Are you sitting down? Okay – here goes:

The reason we keep getting acts of terrorism is because we keep importing terrorists.

That is not politics. That is mathematics. Let me repeat it for those who came in late: The reason we keep getting acts of terrorism is because we keep importing terrorists.

For instance, like most Americans, I did not know, until recently, that since the early 1990s we had a program named the “Diversity Visa Lottery.” So each year some 50,000 people are invited into our country from hellholes all around the globe, like Uzbekistan.

Over there it is 96.3 percent Muslim, coincidentally.

That is where the Manhattan murderer came from…and, along with the rest, was welcomed with smiles over the years from types like NY Gov. Cuomo and NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio and Sen. Chuck Schumer.

Trump: Why isn’t DOJ investigating Clinton rigging of 2016 primary?

President Trump is puzzled as to why the Justice Department is not investigating new claims that the Democratic National Committee rigged the 2016 presidential primary for Hillary Clinton and against Vermont Sen. Bernard Sanders.

“Everybody is asking why the Justice Department (and FBI) isn’t looking into all of the dishonesty going on with Crooked Hillary & Dems..,” Mr. Trump tweeted Friday.

“…New Donna B book says she paid for and stole the Dem Primary. What about the deleted E-mails, Uranium, Podesta, the Server, plus, plus…” Mr. Trumptweeted. “…People are angry. At some point the Justice Department, and the FBI, must do what is right and proper. The American public deserves it!”

Network newscasts don't mention Brazile Clinton-DNC revelations

The broadcast evening newscasts on three major networks on Thursday didn't mention bombshell revelations by former Democratic National Committee interim Chairwoman Donna Brazile.

Brazile has written in a new book that she discovered evidence that she said showed Hillary Clinton’s campaign "rigged" the Democratic presidential primary.

"ABC's World News Tonight," "NBC Nightly News" and "CBS Evening News" all failed to report the allegations by Brazile on Thursday evening despite it receiving considerable coverage on cable news and in print and online media. Brazile was also trending as one of Twitter's top topics on Thursday.

Liberals, Media Lose Their Mind Over Signs That Say 'It's Okay To Be White'

One student said she found the "it's okay to be white" sign to be "threatening."

Signs that simply say "it's okay to be white" have been posted at high schools, college campuses, and neighborhoods across the country, and liberals are losing their minds.

Media reports on the signs have been endless; at least one school department has, incredibly, launched an "investigation" into the activity. As one college student put it, the piece of paper that says "it's okay to be white" feels "threatening."

Salisbury in the Revolution

The war history of Salisbury before the First World War can be told in a few words. The people here have always been for peace, although it furnished some troops to both the Confederate and National armies during the Civil War and a number of its young men went to the front as volunteers during the Spanish-American War.

The only time its people, however, came face to face with “grim visaged war” was during the Revolution, and this incident cannot be said to exactly redound to the patriotism of some of its inhabitants.

Nearly all of the settlers were either descendants of or were connected with the English gentry and were intensely loyal to the King in his quarrel with the thirteen colonies. When Washington took the field many became Tories, as such sympathizers were called, and they started an armed insurrection under the leadership of a man of gigantic stature named Ben Allen. For a time they terrorized the patriots and on February 18, 1777, General William Smallwood, the commander of the famous Maryland Line in the Continental Army, was sent by Washington with a body of troops.

He established headquarters at Salisbury and prepared to give battle, but it resulted in little more than a brisk skirmish in which Allen was shot through the head, dying instantly. His followers fled ignominiously, but many of them were captured. Other sympathizers with the King were arrested, and for a time the jails of Annapolis and Cambridge were filled with prisoners. But the death of Allen put an end to the hopes of the loyalists and this was their first and last attempt to resist the American troops. Allen, so far as history tells us, was the only man killed in the skirmish, and was buried in the yard of St. Peters Church. During later construction, in 1925, when a recess chancel was added to the church, the workmen disinterred a gigantic skeleton. The skull was in a remarkable state of preservation and upon a close examination a bullet hole was discovered to have pierced it through and through. On account of the large size of the skull, the fact that Allen had been shot in the head and the fact that he was buried in St. Peter’s churchyard, though his grave was unmarked, the reasonable supposition is that the skull belonged to him. Since St. Peters also owned Parsons Cemetery, the graves were moved there.

WHOA! Geraldo Rivera Just Delivered New Scandal Report That Is: ‘end forever of Clinton era’

Stop the presses, Hillary Clinton is lost the support of Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera! That’s it folks! She’s done!

Okay, well that may not be the knockout blow, but I think we all know that it’s coming. After the Donna Brazile revelations, it would take an act of God (you know, the one they booed at their convention?) to prevent the party from pushing her out. If for no other reason than because it will be the only way to keep their base from splitting off into two separate factions: Those who supported Hillary and those who supported Sanders, who got cheated.

Rivera bashed Clinton, saying that Brazile was “throwing Hillary Clinton under the bus and revealing — that the DNC was virtually a criminal enterprise.”

Kaepernick Seeks NFL Owners' Cell Phone Records, Depositions To Prove Collusion

In a singificant escalation in the ongoing NFL feud, which one month ago was pushed into overdrive following Trump's slamming of "anthem kneelers", and which now threatens to set players against team owners, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and Houston Texans owner Bob McNair will be deposed and asked to turn over all cellphone records and emails in relation to the Colin Kaepernick collusion case against the NFL, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports quoting a league source.

Other owners as well as team and league officials also will be deposed in relation to the case, ESPN reports with ABC News adding that other owners to be deposed include the Seattle Seahawks' Paul Allen and the San Francisco 49ers' Jed York. The owners were reportedly selected for depositions based on their public statements about either Kaepernick or sideline protests during the national anthem.

As reported last month, Kaepernick's attorney, Mark Geragos, said that the free-agent quarterback had filed a grievance under the collective bargaining agreement alleging collusion against signing him to an NFL contract.

The filing, which demands an arbitration hearing on the matter, says the NFL and its owners "have colluded to deprive Mr. Kaepernick of employment rights in retaliation for Mr. Kaepernick's leadership and advocacy for equality and social justice and his bringing awareness to peculiar institutions still undermining racial equality in the United States."

NFL Team Invites Navy Veteran To Game Thinking He’d Accept Their Invitation With Open Arms- NOPE

In what appears to me to be a pathetically transparent way to combat claims that the National Football League is disrespecting the country and veterans, they asked a Navy Veteran to attend a game where he would be honored publicly for his service with a special award.

It turns out, though, that you can’t just put a pretty bow on a garbage bag and call it a present. Cmdr. John Wells turned down the invitation immediately, and wasn’t shy about letting people know exactly why it was that he refused to show up at this or any football game.

In an interview about the matter with local media, Wells made it clear that he does not respect an institution that does not respect America.

Trump Was Right: Mainstream Newscasts Entirely Ignored Clinton-DNC Rigging Revelations

President Trump has been actively tweeting this morning as he heads to Asia, but one of his messages particularly caught our eye...
The rigged Dem Primary, one of the biggest political stories in years, got ZERO coverage on Fake News Network TV last night. Disgraceful!
Progress: 0%

That cannot be, right? And considering the source was once a well-sponsored, well-respected contributor to many of these organizations, we were shocked. So we decided to do a little fact-checking.

Well, it turns out - much to our surprise - that, as The Hill reports, the broadcast evening newscasts on three major networks on Thursday didn't mention bombshell revelations by former Democratic National Committee interim Chairwoman Donna Brazile.

'Big Chicken' Connects Poultry Farming To Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria

The chicken for sale at your local grocery store isn't like the chicken your grandparents used to eat. They're bigger and more "breasty," says public health journalist Maryn McKenna — and that's by design.

"In the United States, we much prefer to eat white meat, and so we have bred chickens and genetically redesigned chickens in order for them to have a lot of breast meat," McKenna says. She attributes the change in poultry to factors like precision breeding, hormones and nutrition, but adds, "Antibiotics started this process."

Many large poultry farms feed antibiotics to their chickens in an effort to prevent disease. But McKenna says that humans who eat those chickens are at risk of developing not only antibiotic-resistant gastrointestinal infections, but also urinary tract infections as well. She chronicles the use of antibiotics in the poultry industry in her new book, Big Chicken.

Suspect Robs Chicago Hot Dog Stand, Accidentally Shoots Self in Penis

The masked suspect who robbed a Chicago hot dog stand Tuesday accidentally shot himself in the penis while fleeing the scene.

The incident occurred about 6 a.m.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the suspect, 19-year-old Terrion Pouncy, was “wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt” and he had a “dark scarf concealing his face.” Police report that he pulled a small handgun and demanded money from two men working the register. One of the two handed him the money and Pouncy allegedly responded by reaching into the man’s pocket and taking his personal cell phone and wallet as well.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Pouncy then turned to make his getaway and while “shifting the gun in his waistband… he apparently pulled the trigger, firing a bullet that struck him in the penis.” He was also shot in the thigh.

One of the hotdog stand employee’s wrestled with Pouncy after the gun went off, but Pouncy was able to break free and run away.

Pouncy ran as far as he could then called police to self-report that he had been shot. Police received a 911 call on the hotdog stand robbery at “about the same time.”

Record 95.4 Million Americans Are No Longer In The Labor Force As 968,000 Exit In One Month

In what was otherwise a mediocre jobs report, in which the establishment survey reported that a lower than expected 261K jobs were added to the post-Hurricane economy, the biggest surprise was not in the Establishment survey, but the household, where the unemployment rate tumbled once more, sliding to a new cycle low of 4.1%, for all the wrong reasons, because a quick look at the participation rate metrics showed that in October there was a sharp decline, with the labor force part. rate sliding from 63.1% to 62.7%, back to 4 decade lows...

... driven by one disturbing metric: the number of people who exited the labor force soared by a near record 968,000 in October - the third highest on record - pushing the total number of people not in the labor force to a record 95.385 million, as the civlian labor force shrunk by whopping 765,000 in one month.

This took place as the number of employed Americans declined by 484,000, however since the unemployment rate denominator dropped more, it translated into an actual decline in the unemployment rate!
