Salvini Announces New Plan to Deport Illegal Migrants From Italy

Populist Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini has announced his first steps to start deporting illegal migrants which will see the country invest 12 million euros and expects to deport at least 2,700 illegals.

The new plan is the first concrete proposal to start the process of deportations following Salvini’s closure of the ports to migrant transport NGOs, the major source of incoming asylum seekers, earlier this year.

The plan, which will also be half funded by the European Union, looks to deport migrants from countries including Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Bangladesh, and Pakistan with which Italy currently does not currently have a repatriation agreement, Il Giornale reports.

After Reagan, his successors did not slow down, with George H.W. Bush adding $1.55 trillion in a single term, followed by Clinton at $1.4 trillion, Bush at $5.85 trillion, and Obama at $8.59 trillion.

Estimates already show that Trump is expected to add a total $4.78 trillion during his first term.

So the trajectory of the deficit is out of control. Reagan inherited a national debt of $750 billion, and Trump added almost $779 billion in fiscal 2018 alone.

New Law in New Jersey Allows Cory Booker to Run for President and Senate Simultaneously

Let there be no doubt: U.S. Sen. Cory Booker can run for president and Senate at the same time.

Gov. Phil Murphy on Thursday signed a bill — unofficially dubbed “Cory’s Law” — that would clarify that a U.S. senator or member of the U.S. House from New Jersey can appear on the primary and general election ballots for those offices as well as for the presidency.

Booker, a Democrat and New Jersey’s junior senator, is widely expected to run for president in 2020, the same year he’s up for reelection for a second full six-year term in the Senate. In recent weeks, he’s visited Iowa and New Hampshire — which have the first presidential nominating contests in the nation — ostensibly to help out other candidates.

Booker, however, has acknowledged that he’s considering running for president.

Opioid overdoses killed 200 Americans a DAY last year, DEA report reveals

Opioid overdose deaths hit the highest level ever recorded in the United States last year, with an estimated 200 people dying per day, a new report by the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has found.

Preliminary figures show about 72,000 people died in 2017 from opioid-related overdoses across the country.

About a week ago, US health secretary Alex Azar said overdose deaths have now begun to level off, but he also cautioned that it was too soon to declare victory.

The DEA's National Drug Threat Assessment, which is being released Friday, shows that heroin, fentanyl and other opioids continue to be the highest drug threat in the nation.

But federal officials are concerned that methamphetamine and cocaine are being seen at much higher levels in areas that haven't historically been hot spots for those drugs.


North Carolina man, 28, was likely fed to HOGS after he was kidnapped for possible drug trafficking

A North Carolina man who was kidnapped in January was most likely killed and fed to hogs, according to court documents.

Charleston Prentice Goodman, 26, was last seen by his mother and family at his Durham home on January 28.

'He kissed me on my forehead like he always does and said, "Mama, I love you, I'll be back," I said, "I love you, too, baby, be safe,"' Tammie Goodman told WNCNabout the day he was taken.

She shared that Charleston had been leaving to pick up his five-year-old daughter when he went missing. Less than ten seconds after he kissed her goodbye, Ms Goodman heard her son screaming.

When she ran outside, Ms Goodman was shocked to see her son being taken into a light-colored van.

Police would later identify the vehicle as a 2005-2008 Honda Odyssey.

In a Thursday Op-Ed, she describes how Democrats, over the course of six weeks, turned a "blue wave" of momentum into an absurd circus over Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh - tainting all of the 2020 Democratic presidential hopefuls except Joe Biden.

"Democrats obliterated their own breaker in the space of two weeks with the ambush of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh," Strassel writes, displaying some of the "vilest political tactics ever seen in Washington, with no regard for who or what they damaged or destroyed along the way."

And despite support for insurgent Democratic candidates such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Andrew Gillum sweeping voters off their feet during primaries, Democrats have been running "candidates with conservative credentials," or "candidates who can't run fast enough from liberal positions."

And at the end of the day, no matter how midterms turn out - "save for Joe Biden, every current leading contender for the Democratic nomination either was a ringleader of the Kavanaugh spectacle (Sens. Ocean City Police Sergeant Retires After 27+ Years of Service

OCEAN CITY, MD – After over 27+ years of dedicated service to the citizens of Ocean City, Sergeant Mark Paddack retired on October 31 from the Ocean City Police Department. Bridgeville Man Charged with Murder by Abuse or Neglect

Bridgeville– A Bridgeville man has been indicted on Murder by Abuse or Neglect charges in connection with the death of his child.

The investigation began in late September 2018 when Troopers were made aware of a suspicious death of a child. It was learned that a one-year-old child was on a ventilator and in the care of his father, 28-year-old Michael D. Lewis at a residence on 2nd street in the Walkers Mill Mobile Home Park. The child became unresponsive and was transported by Lewis to the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, where the child was pronounced deceased.

Further investigation revealed that Lewis neglected the proper care of the child while on the ventilator. On October 24, 2018, Lewis was indicted for Murder by Abuse or Neglect First Degree. He was arraigned before the Sussex County Superior Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $500,000.00 cash only bond.

Caravan sues USA-- claims 'violation of Constitutional rights'

A dozen migrants traveling by foot from Honduras to the U.S. to seek asylum filed a class-action lawsuit Thursday against President Trump, the Department of Homeland Security and others, claiming a violation of their due process under the Fifth Amendment.

The Fifth Amendment states that, "no person… shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law."

Twelve Honduran nationals, including six children, are listed as plaintiffs in the lawsuit. The suit, which was filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., said it is widely known that Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador are “undergoing a well-documented human rights crisis.” The lawsuit also claims that the plaintiffs’ right to the Administrative Procedures Act and the Declaratory Judgement Act were being infringed upon.

The lawsuit points to Trump's claim that he will prevent the caravan from entering the U.S. It claims that the president cannot stop asylum-seekers by employing the military -- when they have a fair claim. The suit criticized the president's alleged attempt at stoking "fear and hysteria" by claiming that criminals and gang members have joined the caravan.

The suit cited a Trump interview with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham, where the president laid out plans to build tent cities to house migrants. The suit questioned the functionality of such a project, and asked if these living quarters would qualify under the Flores Agreement of 1997. The agreement protects asylum-seekers’ rights and limits how long minors can be held.

President Donald Trump is considering an executive order restricting birthright citizenship for illegal aliens’ children, which could create a Supreme Court test case that could end that misinterpretation of the Constitution’s Fourteenth Amendment, either through presidential action or through legislation.

The original meaning of the Fourteenth Amendment’s Citizenship Clause promises birthright citizenship to people born on U.S. soil only if they are not citizens of a foreign nation, giving Congress the option of denying citizenship to the children of foreigners. Critics would be wise to hold off criticizing President Trump’s planned executive order focusing on illegal aliens until they see what is in it.

Everyone is suddenly talking about the first clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, which provides, “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”

What makes citizens obey the law is not always their sterling character. Instead, fear of punishment—the shame of arrest, fines, or imprisonment—more often makes us comply with laws.

Law enforcement is not just a way to deal with individual violators but also a way to remind society at large that there can be no civilization without legality. Or, as 17th-century British statesman George Savile famously put it: “Men are not hanged for stealing horses, but that horses may not be stolen.”

In the modern world, we call such prompt, uniform, and guaranteed law enforcement “deterrence,” from the Latin verb meaning “to frighten away.” One protester who disrupts a speech is not the problem. But if unpunished, he green-lights hundreds more like him.

Worse still, when one law is left unenforced, then all sorts of other laws are weakened.

Founder of #WalkAway Campaign Hopes to Make It a ‘Roadshow’

The founder of the #WalkAway Campaign, a movement showcasing stories of why Americans walk away from leftist ideology and the Democratic Party, says he is pleased with an organized march last weekend in the nation’s capital and plans to take the idea on the road.

“I thought it was spectacular. I am so proud of the entire weekend from beginning to end,” Brandon Straka said in an interview with The Daily Signal.

“I have very high expectations, which is why I usually feel let down all the time, but it was one of the rare moments in life where you have the highest possible hopes and expectations and it goes so far beyond,” Straka said.

Straka, 41, a former liberal who voted for Hillary Clinton in the past but now calls himself a “gay conservative,” said he estimates that 3,000 to 3,500 attended.

The #WalkAway events started Oct. 26 with a gala dinner at Trump International Hotel, a march Oct. 27 from John Marshall Park to Freedom Plaza, and a closing brunch Oct. 28.

“Everybody was really energetic and participating, despite the fact that the weather sucked and it was cold,” Straka said.

In his extraordinarily forward-looking 1796 “Farewell Address,” President George Washington recommended for our “solemn contemplation” and “frequent review, some sentiments which are the result of much reflection” and “which appears to me all important to the permanency of your felicity as a people.”

Among the most notable advice he offered was a warning about the danger of those who would seek to divide the nation in order to empower their own partisan interests. He noted that the “love of power and proneness to abuse it” would result in “cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled” political leaders who would “organize faction; to give it an artificial and extraordinary force; to put in the place of the delegated will of the nation, the will of a party.”

He warned that their “foolish compliances of ambition, corruption, or infatuation” would “usurp the applause and confidence of the people to surrender their interests,” and that we should “distrust the patriotism of those who, in any quarter, may endeavor to weaken” our nation’s bonds.

Kunstler: The Midterm Endgame & Democrats' "Perpetual Hysteria"

Back in the last century, when this was a different country, the Democrats were the “smart” party and the Republicans were the “stupid” party.

How did that work?

Well, back then the Democrats represented a broad middle class, with a base of factory workers, many of them unionized, and the party had to be smart, especially in the courts, to overcome the natural advantages of the owner class.

In contrast, the Republicans looked like a claque of country club drunks who staggered home at night to sleep on their moneybags. Bad optics, as we say nowadays.

The Democrats also occupied the moral high ground as the champion of the little guy. If not for the Dems, factory workers would be laboring twelve hours a day and children would still be maimed in the machinery. Once the relationship between business and labor was settled in the 1950s, the party moved on to a new crusade on even loftier moral high ground: civil rights, aiming to correct arrant and long-lived injustices against downtrodden black Americans. That was a natural move, considering America’s self-proclaimed post-war status as the world’s Beacon of Liberty. It had to be done and a political consensus that included Republicans got it done. Consensus was still possible.

The Dems built their fortress on that high ground and fifty years later they find themselves prisoners in it. The factory jobs all vamoosed overseas. The middle class has been pounded into penury and addiction.

The Democratic Party split into a four-headed monster comprised of Wall Street patrons seeking favors, war hawks and their corporate allies looking for new global rumbles, the permanent bureaucracy looking to always expand itself, and the various ethnic and sexual minorities whose needs and grievances are serviced by that bureaucracy. It’s the last group that has become the party’s most public face while the party’s other activities – many of them sinister — remain at least partially concealed.

In many ways, Daniel Strong is happy with his life. He owns a three-bedroom ranch-style house in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he lives with his wife and 3-year-old son, Benjamin. He recently made the last payment on his silver, Toyota Tacoma. He likes his job.

But there's one problem that won't go away.

Strong and his wife owe more than $350,000 for their bachelor's and master's degrees.

"The huge monster in the closet for me are these student loans that keep getting bigger and bigger," said Strong, 36. When they graduated, they were faced with monthly bills of around $800 each and have since struggled to keep up.

"It's so stressful to think about the fact that you're probably going to have to work until you drop dead at work because of your student loans," Strong said.


Newt Gingrich: Stop the caravan and build the wall to keep deadly drugs out and save lives

A perfect storm is brewing in the Southern Hemisphere and making its way north to the United States.

Heroin, fentanyl and other opioids already pour through America’s southern border and this infiltration is one of three elements that will feed the perfect storm. Every day, 115 Americans die from opioid overdoses and from tainted drugs passing through our border with Mexico.

The second element is MS-13, the brutal gang that is a drug courier of choice used by the Mexican drug cartels for distribution of these drugs within the United States.

When these two elements are mixed with the third element – the caravan of several thousand people, mostly men, seeking to break through our southern border – you complete a toxic combination leading to a perfect storm.

MS-13 gang members have already been found in the mass migration (although some have claimed they are no longer affiliated with the gang). It is not hard to spot them with their MS-13 tattoos. It is only a small leap in logic that MS-13 gang members will be using the caravan as a cover to increase their drug and human trafficking operations.

This combination magnifies the threat to America’s national security. A border wall is needed more than ever.

A woman who acknowledged falsely accusing Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh of rape is being referred to the FBI and Department of Justice for investigation, according to an official letter.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley said in a letter sent Friday to FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Jeff Sessions that the woman, Judy Munro-Leighton, admitted Thursday that she falsely claimed in an email to committee staff on Oct. 3 that Kavanaugh and a friend had raped her.

In the email, Munro-Leighton claimed to be the author of an anonymous letter sent to California Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris on Sept. 19. In that letter, a person who signed the letter as “Jane Doe” claimed Kavanaugh and a friend raped her in the back of a car.

Grassley, an Iowa Republican, said investigators quickly discovered that Munro-Leighton was a “left-wing activist” who is decades older than Kavanaugh.


Border official: three-quarters of migrants in the caravan are adult men

SAN DIEGO — Nearly three-quarters of those in the caravan of Central American migrants traveling through Mexico to the United States are adult men, a senior Border Patrol official told the Washington Examiner.

Families and unaccompanied children make up "about 20 to 30 percent" of the caravan, according to Roy Villareal, deputy chief patrol agent of the Border Patrol's San Diego Sector.

"The rest of that is single, adult males," Villareal said during a recent tour of the region.

Single-parent families and children who illegally enter the country will not be prosecuted, unlike adults.

If a one-parent family or child is found to have illegally entered the country, they may also still claim asylum.

The process of having an asylum claim heard before a judge can take a couple of years. Due to the Department of Homeland Security's inability to hold more than a few thousand people at a time, tens of thousands of people were released into the country in fiscal 2018 and told to appear for immigration court dates in the future.

A study on rats found that when they were given “enriched” environments to explore, their brains physically grew, and the rats displayed better problem-solving skills.

They didn’t have to be forced to interact with their environment. They were naturally curious.

It doesn’t make sense to push your children towards particular things that you want them to learn, or that public schools say they should learn.

Instead of signing them up for piano lessons, for example, put a piano in their environment. If they express interest, offer to get them more help and instruction.

The Sudbury Valley School in Framingham Massachusetts has a 50-year history of teaching students in this way.

They have a beautiful, sprawling campus, with a pond, woods, and fields. They have books to read, and games to play, sports equipment, kitchens for cooking, and labs for experiments. They have teachers available so that when the kids do want help learning or creating, they get it.


Black Leadership Group: CNN Must Put ‘Own House In Order’ After Don Lemon Said ‘White Men’ Are US’s ‘Biggest Terror Threat’

Project 21, a black leadership network, issued a statement Thursday calling on CNN President Jeff Zucker to address host Don Lemon’s inflammatory comments calling white men the “biggest terror threat” in America.

The statement, from Project 21 co-chairs Stacy Washington, Horace Cooper, and Bishop Council Nedd II, reads:

Within a space of five seconds, CNN’s Don Lemon went from saying we shouldn’t demonize people to broadly labeling white men as our nation’s ‘biggest terror threat.’ That’s not responsible journalism. This cannot stand. CNN President Jeff Zucker recently called out the White House for its criticism of the media, saying President Trump doesn’t comprehend the importance of the words he uses. It’s time for Zucker to put his own house in order – starting with explaining how Don Lemon’s outrageous statement can stand in light of Zucker’s call for civility.

Project 21 is a 25-year-old black leadership network sponsored by the National Center for Public Policy Research, a “free-market, independent conservative think-tank.”

“So we have to stop demonizing people and realize the biggest terror threat in this country is white men, most of them radicalized to the right, and we have to start doing something about them,” Lemon said on Monday during an appearance on “Chris Cuomo Primetime.”


Democrats and Republicans rush to avert third party spoilers

Two congresswomen running for U.S Senate in Arizona are crisscrossing the state, raising millions of dollars and trying to exploit every possible advantage to eke out a win in what both sides expect to be a photo-finish race.

The wild card: Angela Green, a Green Party candidate who could win votes that might have gone to Democrat Krysten Sinema, clearing a path to victory for Republican Martha McSally.

But on Thursday, Green suddenly announced she would drop out of the race and endorsed Sinema.

“After watching the debates and seeing everything, Sinema’s stance on a lot of things are very close to mine,” Green said in an interview with Channel 12 news in Phoenix.

The about face demonstrates the significance third party candidates are playing as Election Day nears and key races tighten across the country.


Mark Meadows Asks FISA Court Judge To Investigate FBI Applications To Spy On Trump Aide

The chairman of the House Freedom Caucus is asking a federal judge to investigate whether the process of granting secret surveillance warrants against American citizens was “weaponized for political means” against the Trump campaign.

“As the Presiding Judge of the [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC)], you are privy to information which could potentially verify or contradict our understanding of abuses of the [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA)] process,” North Carolina Rep. Mark Meadows wrote in a letter Monday to Judge Rosemary Collyer. “Ultimately, to protect the integrity of the process, we believe such an investigation is necessary.”

“We write to encourage you to investigate the possibility FISA has recently been weaponized for political means,” added Meadows, a Republican member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

Meadows is one of a handful of lawmakers on a congressional task force investigating the FBI and Department of Justice’s investigation into possible collusion between President Donald Trump’s campaign and the Russian government.


Supreme Court accepts case of Maryland war memorial shaped like cross

The case regarding whether or not a Maryland war memorial in the shape of a cross goes against a separation of church and state was accepted for final review by Supreme Court justices on Friday.

The controversial memorial, which stands in Bladensburg, Maryland, was previously deemed to be in violation of the Constitution by a federal appeals court in Virginia, who determined that it “has the primary effect of endorsing religion and excessively entangles the government in religion.”

In petitioning the nation’s highest court to take the case, Maryland officials who maintain the monument, otherwise known as the “Peace Cross,” insisted that what it’s meant to honor proves that its purpose is to portray a secular message of remembrance, not one of religion.

Should the appeals court’s decision be allowed to stand, it could potentially affect hundreds of similar monuments across the country and would force “the removal or dismemberment of a cherished war memorial that has served as a site of solemn commemoration and civic unity for nearly a century,” the officials said.
