March of the Credentialed Morons

1. Academic Disaster

For at least the past two decades, our colleges and universities have devolved into leftist training camps where free speech is labeled hateful and induced leftist conformity is the order of the day. Even professors at the University of Chicago, famed for its free speech code, fear to speak out.

Mr. Cochrane wrote on June 15, “I spent much of my last few years of teaching afraid that I would say something that could be misunderstood and thus be offensive to someone. Many of my colleagues report the same worries.”

If that level of fear accurately describes the situation at the University of Chicago, where the university administration has deservedly won national attention for coming down clearly, decisively, and publicly on the “open debate” side of the campus speech wars, imagine just how bad things are in the rest of academia.

In a moment when black Americans fear being killed by police, the concern that tenured professors might be inconvenienced might seem trivial. The worry at Chicago, as described by Mr. Cochrane, was less that university administrators would, on their own initiative, rule speech out of bounds.

It was more that a student would lodge a grievance that would in turn generate an investigation that would then accumulate a momentum of its own -- with no due process. It could end with a teacher falsely labeled as a racist, one of the worst things a person can be called in contemporary America.

Judicial Watch uncovers emails showing Ben Rhodes and aides joking about Benghazi lies

Judicial Watch once again has proven to be invaluable (donate here) in uncovering official perfidy. This time, its Freedom of Information Act lawsuit has uncovered utterly appalling levity among top Obama foreign policy aides over their lies to the public about the September 11, 2012 attack on the Benghazi Consular Annex that took the lives of Ambassador Chris Stevens, Information Officer Sean Smith, and two CIA operatives, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods, both former Navy SEALs. Readers will recall that UN Ambassador Susan Rice, now touted as a vice presidential nominee for front man Joe Biden, went on five Sunday morning talk shows to lie about the attack and blame it on a YouTube video seen by a handful of people. Nine days later, the-Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes yucked it up with his crew.

Gun-Toting St. Louis Lawyers Defend Mansion From BLM Protesters In Viral Video

The couple, identified as attorneys Mark and Patricia McCloskey, engaged in a shouting match with the protesters, waving what appeared to be an AR-15 rifle and a pistol (albeit employing terrible muzzle and trigger discipline and without cover).

Gunman Opens Fire, Wounds Two, Following Argument at Peewee Football Game

A gunman in Forth Worth, Texas, wounded two when he opened fire following an argument at a peewee football game.

NBC DFW reported that the incident occurred in a game between the Fort Worth Longhorns and the 81G Bulldogs. A mother allegedly “became upset when a fight broke out between some of the players on the field.” That mother then called her older son who allegedly “arrived with a gun and started to shoot.”

Longhorns coach Jonathan Cunningham said, “[The gunman] was shooting at our sideline. He was standing at the top of the hill. You could see him pointing down shooting directly at the kids. So we checked on our players, our kids, making sure everyone was OK. That’s when we noticed one of our parents was shot.”

180 KRLD reports that a woman was shot in the leg and girl “under 18-years old was grazed in the back.” Neither person’s injuries were life-threatening.

Chuck E. Cheese parent company to close 34 locations permanently: Is your location on the store closings list?

All those Chuck E. Cheese tokens and tickets you've been hoarding are still good for now, but you might not have a local Chuck E. Cheese where you can use them anymore.

CEC Entertainment, the parent company of the entertainment-and-pizza venue geared toward kids, plans to permanently close about 34 locations that were still open when the coronavirus pandemic began.

The company, which owns the Chuck E. Cheese and Peter Piper Pizza chains, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection late Wednesday.

Late Thursday, the company filed a list of about 45 leases it plans to reject, including five in California, four in Florida, four in Massachusetts, three in Ohio and three in Oklahoma. The list included 11 locations that had already closed before COVID-19.(See below for the full list.)

CEC also requested a judge's permission to continue to honor game credits, tickets, tokens, gift cards, customer deposits, discount offers and loyalty accounts, as long as the company remains in business. The company has said it hopes to use the Chapter 11 process to shed debt and emerge as a more sustainable operation.

The extra $600 unemployment benefits will end before July 31

For the tens of million of Americans receiving unemployment benefits, the extra $600 boost will run out sooner than expected.

The $600 weekly payments from the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation program were put in place as part of the $2.2 trillion CARES Act Congress passed in late March amid the coronavirus pandemic. Americans who are eligible for unemployment insurance receive an extra $600 on top of what they normally claim under their state's benefits. Yet this boost is scheduled to end "on or before July 31, 2020."

July 31 falls on a Friday this year, which is a problem because states typically pay out unemployment benefits on a weekly cycle that ends on Saturday or Sunday. And because of the wording of the CARES Act, that means states will end the $600 extra payments on July 25 or 26, rather than on the very last day of the month, depending on how the state's weekly calendar is set up.

"If the benefit week ends after the July 31 cutoff, then the $600 can't apply to that week, and most benefit weeks end on Saturday or Sunday," according to Michele Evermore, senior policy analyst for the National Employment Law Project. Evermore adds that she hasn't been able to confirm any state that ends their weekly benefits cycle on a Friday.

Wapo tries to Fact Check Trump, actually proves him right on Democratic cities

Turns out, Democrats overwhelmingly run the cities that have the most violent crime

The Washington Post attempted to fact check President Donald Trump last week on his claim that Democrat-run cities have the highest rates of violent crime.

However, the newspaper ended up just proving the president's point.

Last Wednesday, Trump said, "You hear about certain places like Chicago and you hear about what's going on in Detroit and other — other cities, all Democrat run. Every one of them is Democrat run. Twenty out of twenty. The 20 worst, the 20 most dangerous are Democrat run."

In response, the Post published an analysis article declaring thatTrump was incorrect. "Trump keeps claiming that the most dangerous cities in America are all run by Democrats. They aren't."

More Adult than ever live with Parents or Grandparents

An absolutely shocking, new report via Zillow this month estimates 2.7 million adults moved in with a parent or grandparent in March and April as virus pandemic lockdowns crushed the economy.

The Zillow analysis shows 32 million adults lived with a parent or grandparent as of April, or about 10% of the entire population lives in their parent's basement, the highest on record.

Many of those who moved back home in March and April, 2.2 million, were jobless millennials:

Employment and living situations among this young age group are generally the most in flux even in normal times, and the added uncertainty of the pandemic and future employment prospects makes this group even vulnerable to volatile swings in job and housing markets. Normally, the living arrangements of the 18-25 age group is quite seasonal (because of college terms and/or seasonal work), with a smaller share living at home in the spring months than in the summer months: Typically, 53%-to-55% of these adults live at home in April, compared to 55%-to-57% in July. But this April, that share surged as high as 61%, an unprecedented level.

But while students returning home after the nationwide closure of college campuses this spring is undoubtedly driving some of this surge, young adults were overwhelmingly driven back home by the major labor market swing in the wake of COVID-19. The number of employed young adults (aged 18-25) fell by more than 25%, or 5.9 million, in March and April. Roughly 60% of these workers that became unemployed in these months continued to look for employment, but more than 2 million were officially counted as no longer in the labor force. And while recently unemployed young people moved back home at roughly the same rate as usual (about 60% of them typically live with parents) the total number of them is bigger than ever.

Its not just newly jobless young Americans that are moving back home. Before the pandemic, almost half (46.5%) of employed young adults already lived in a parent's home; by this April, the share had risen to 49%. Those who ceased looking for work altogether or were not in the labor force already, including a large number of students, were even more likely to move back home, adding another million-plus young adults to the ranks of homeward-bound movers. - Zillow

The great migration home, more precisely, to their parent's basement, has been a major headache for landlords who now face lost rent. Zillow said Gen Zers who returned home in March and April represent lost rental income of $726 million a month.

The New York Times used Zillow data to show rental market losses by geographic area due to folks moving back home during the pandemic.

1 In 5 Mail-In Ballots Rejected As 4 Charged With Fraud In New Jersey Election

Authored by Mark Hemingway via RealClearPolitics.com,

Following accusations of widespread fraud, voter intimidation, and ballot theft in the May 12 municipal elections in Paterson, N.J., state Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal announced Thursday he is charging four men with voter fraud – including the vice president of the City Council and a candidate for that body.

“Today’s charges send a clear message: if you try to tamper with an election in New Jersey, we will find you and we will hold you accountable,” Grewal said in a statement.

“We will not allow a small number of criminals to undermine the public’s confidence in our democratic process.”

Paterson City Councilman Michael Jackson, 48, Councilman-Elect Alex Mendez, 45, Shelim Khalique, 51, and Abu Razyen, 21, were charged with crimes including fraud in casting mail-in votes, unauthorized possession of ballots, and tampering with public records.

Paterson’s City Council members aren’t officially affiliated with a political party.

The message was sent out by Obama on behalf of All On The Line, a campaign launched by the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC) which was formed after Obama’s political organization Organizing for Action (OFA) merged with his former Attorney General Eric Holder’s National Redistricting Action Fund (NRAF).

Nope, They Really Do Want to 'Burn It All Down!'

He wasn’t being figurative. He wasn’t being symbolic. When Hawk Newsome—the leader of Black Lives Matter in New York—said for America to give him what he wanted or that he would “burn it down,” even though he pretended otherwise, he was being literal.

We know this because he cited the use of violence in the immediate follow up to the statement. He falsely claimed that “the riots of the 60s” brought about the greatest expansion of wealthy black Americans in their history. He bragged at the firing of eight police officers. He attempted to connect needed social change as being somehow in opposition to the ideals of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He also evidently believes due process is anti-progress.

All of it spoken like an absolute anarchist, propped up by Marxist thought, and likely bought and paid for by left-wing funding.

So how is it all working out? It’s a fair question since it appears to be “working” according to his “plan.”

Let’s peek in on Minneapolis. With hundreds of millions in damage to many black-owned businesses, the city council voted to disband and radically defund the police department. Now, let me remind you, that it was a police department of nearly even representation of people of color and white officers. It was led by an African American commissioner. Nevertheless, it had to go. Now, after three weeks of total chaos, the same city council has voted to spend tax-monies on private security firms for themselves, just not the taxpayers.

Comey Miniseries Gets Pre-Election Airdate, After Director Pleads For Chance To Sway Voters

A Showtime miniseries based on former FBI Director James Comey’s memoir has been rescheduled to debut before Election Day, after its creator made an emotional plea for a chance to sway presidential voters.

Billy Ray, who wrote and directed “The Comey Rule,” recoiled after learning Showtime originally planned to debut it in late November.

Ray wrote an angry letter to his cast and crew about the post-election date obtained by Deadline.com. The note suggests a collective agenda behind the project:

I know what a disappointment this is to you. It is for me too — because while I’ve made movies about my country before, this was the first time I ever made a movie for my country. We all were hoping to get this story in front of the American people months before the coming election. And that was a reasonable expectation considering that we’d been given a mandate by the network to do whatever was necessary to deliver by May 15.

But at some point in March or April, that mandate changed. Word started drifting back to me that a decision about our airdate had been made at the very highest levels of Viacom: all talk of our airing before the election was suddenly a “non-starter.” I and my fellow producers asked for a chance to plead our case on the matter, but we were told that even the discussion itself was a “non-starter.”

Further down in the letter, Ray envisioned billboards screaming, “Comey Vs. Trump” in the heat of the election battle.

“The Comey Rule” is based on former FBI director James Comey’s recent memoir, “A Higher Loyalty” and “more than a year of additional interviews with a number of key principals,” according to Showtime PR.

The source material suggests the production will be highly critical of President Trump. Through his book and other public platforms, Comey has frequently reviled the president while justifying his own conduct throughout the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane investigation of now-debunked allegations of collusion between Russia and Trump’s 2016 campaign.

On June 24, the day after Ray's letter was published by Deadline, Showtime announced "The Comey Rule" would air on consecutive nights Sept. 27-28. Showtime gave no reason for the time shift, but the news came the same day as two breaking news items tied to Comey’s tenure.

Communists, Islamists and Radicals Behind the BLM Movement Hijack America – While Others Sheepishly Comply

We reported a month ago that recent riots in the US in many Democrat-led cities around the country are hardly spontaneous. They are coordinated. The groups behind these riots are linked to communists, Islamic groups and the Democrat party.

A major problem is that many US politicians, the mainstream media and companies are complying and supporting this hijacking.

There clearly was no reason for the mass riots taking place around the country after the death of George Floyd at the hands of the police in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Everyone who saw the police brutality was appalled and outraged at the sight of the policeman kneeling on the victim’s neck for an incredibly long period of time.

The man died. But nothing warrants the wholesale destruction of property and riots around the US since that event.

Rob Smith: Why America Keeps Falling for Hate Crime Hoaxes

Our race-obsessed national news media and a political left looking to distract America from their awful, doddering candidate fell for yet another hate crime hoax this week, saying so very much about how they see America, and about the ever-increasing depths to which they’ll sink to use racism as a political tool in a contentious election year.

The “noose” found in NASCAR’s sole black driver Bubba Wallace’s garage turned out to be . . . a garage pull.

Of course, the FBI’s findings came after nearly every public figure on the left decried the noose incident as yet another example of the nonstop racism that blacks experience in America, After Atlantic Contributing Writer Jemele Hill went on a media tour about the racism of NASCAR and its fans, and after Wallace appeared on none other than The View to talk about his harrowing experience with what we now know was an ordinary object.

The Bubba Wallace “noose” hate crime smelled from the moment it hit the news, which is why smart people steered clear of it immediately. I personally glanced at one story, smelled a rat, and decided to sit this one out. Instinctively, I knew that there was something fishy about the story, and as someone who has followed these types of hate crime stories which are more often than not proven false, I knew it was likely that this one would be too.

Jussie me once, shame on you. Jussie me twice, shame on me.

Riots push governors to new levels of 'cowardice, incompetence'

Charlie Daniels warns time swiftly coming when you must 'pick a side'

The time swiftly is coming in America when everyone will be forced to "pick a side" in what has become "an all-out socialist attack on our Republic," says country rock superstar Charlie Daniels.

He wrote in his weekly "Soap Box" commentary: "When you get past the very thin patina of 'peaceful' protest and look beyond the fallacy that violence and destruction brings about racial equality, you have to come to the conclusion that there is a radical fringe of people who would literally burn this country down, given the opportunity."

The media ignores that, he said, but "if you’re willing to scratch the surface and dig a little bit, it will dawn on you that this is not a simple protest against the unjust killing of a black man, but a revolutionary street battle against America and everything we stand for and it IS funded and lead by socialist factions, and it’s not just in the U.S. but in many democratic nations around the world."

"In other words, an all-out socialist attack on our Republic," he said.

Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About White Privilege

My name is Wayne Allyn Root. I'm an SOB (son of a butcher). I understand this "white privilege" controversy like no one person on Earth.

I've never had it. I've never even had a whiff of it. That's why I have no "white guilt." I have nothing to be guilty about. But I have met plenty of privileged white kids. You know what you call them? Liberal Democrats. More on that in a minute.

First, my background. My Jewish ancestors were far more likely to be slaves than to have one. My ancestors were persecuted, abused, robbed, enslaved and murdered by government -- just like Black Americans.

My Jewish grandparents got to America in the early 1900s -- long after slavery. They settled in New York City, not the South. If they ever met anyone from the Ku Klux Klan, it was only because they were being persecuted by white extremists -- just like Black Americans.

My father fought in World War II and faced sure death at Okinawa. Was that "white privilege"? He spent the rest of his life as a blue-collar butcher. He woke at 3 a.m. every day to drive to the meat market in the dark and freezing cold and buy the wholesale meat he'd sell at his shop. My father struggled his entire life as a working-class man and died with an estate of nothing (other than his home).

He worried every hour of every day how he'd pay his bills. No one gave him anything in his life -- let alone because he was white.

Pinkerton: Ten Things that Will Happen in a Biden Presidency

The Marketing Imagination and the Political Imagination

According to the RealClearPolitics polling average, Joe Biden is about ten points ahead of Donald Trump.

Moreover, the planned “reset” of Trump’s reelection campaign in Tulsa on June 20 was not a success, at least in terms of its expectations-game optics; the Trump fans were enthusiastic, but there were only 6,200 of them—a fraction of the number that the campaign itself had anticipated. Was the soft attendance the result of Democrat dirty tricks? Or of threatened mob violence? Perhaps there was some of that, but the plain fact is that the Trump campaign had trouble building a crowd in a state that Trump carried by by more 36 points four years ago. Other events, elsewhere in the last few days, we might note, have gone much better, expectations-game management-wise.

Meanwhile, in just three-and-a-half months, Americans will start voting, thanks to absentee voting and vote-by- mail. Thus the Trump campaign must necessarily enter a new and sharper phase, in which it runs more effectively against what it calls the “defined Joe Biden”—that is, Biden revealed as something other than “Middle Class Joe.”

Yet if the Trump campaign is to succeed in “defining” Biden, as a menace, it won’t be sufficient to argue that Biden is “Sleepy Joe,” or that he has adopted new, more liberal, stances during his 2020 run for the White House. Those might both be true statements, but they aren’t enough. The plain fact is, “Joe Biden isn’t scaring the president’s base.” Those wordscome from the Washington Post’s David Weigel, who is not one of those PC journalistic wokesters, and who was on hand at the rally in Tulsa. He further recorded that anti-Biden sentiments were not strongly voiced among the crowd, and that “anti-Biden merchandise was not flying off the table.” Yes, Weigel acknowledged, many Trump supporters think that Biden has lost a step or two—or three—mentally, but that’s not the same thing as seeing him as some sort of Hillary Clinton-type ogre.

So we can see: If the Trump campaign just runs against Biden, sitting in his basement in Delaware—which is, shrewd Democrats say, the best place for him to be—that’s not likely to be sufficient to overcome the ominous public opinion trend-lines on Trump’s handling of, most notably, the coronavirus.

VIDEO: Man Allegedly Shot, Killed Two Chicago Teens Who Asked How Tall He Was

A man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly shot and killed two teenagers in Chicago, Illinois, for asking how tall he was.

“Police said Laroy Battle, 19, opened fire on two teens in an alley in the 7900-block of South Luella Avenue around 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 20,” according to ABC 7 Chicago.

Deputy Chief of Detectives Brendan Deenihan said the shooting happened after the two teens and a friend had a brief encounter with Battle, whom they did not know, at a neighborhood corner store.

“The victims commented, because, since Battle is quite tall, and they asked him how tall he was and you know, hoped to be that tall someday. And unfortunately, obviously we’ll never see the full growth of these poor children,” Deenihan explained.

As the three teenagers walked home from the store, police said two of them were shot multiple times in an alleyway.

“Jasean Francis, 17, was shot in the back, chest and left hand and taken to University of Chicago Hospital, where he died,” the ABC 7 report stated.

“Charles Riley, 16, was shot in the back and left leg and was taken to University of Chicago Hospital, where he also died,” the article continued.

Though coronavirus cases are surging in some parts of the United States, many Black Lives Matter activists are nonetheless planning sizable rallies in the near future, defying public health concerns in favor of continuing what has become a month-long streak of aggressive public activism.

The surge in coronavirus cases in some parts of the country — especially Texas, Arizona and Florida — has brought with it renewed fears that any form of reopening states after months of lockdowns will bring a new wave of COVID-19 infections.

The governors of Texas and Florida imposed fresh restrictions on residents this week in response to rising cases in their states, while other governors such as Washington's Jay Inslee mandated that all state residents must wear face masks while out in public.

In spite of those mounting concerns, multiple chapters of Black Lives Matter across the country are still planning rallies and marches, even as officials urge residents to refrain from gathering in large groups.

Tim Scott blasts Pelosi over 'outrageous, sinful' claim GOP wants to 'get away with murder' of George Floyd

'She spends too much time in an alternate universe', Scott says of Speaker.

Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., tore into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., Friday, telling Fox News Radio's "The Guy Benson Show" that her remark accusing the GOP of "trying to get away with ... the murder of George Floyd" was "the most outrageous, sinful comment I've heard as a public official."

On Tuesday, Pelosi criticized Scott's police reform bill, the JUSTICE Act, in an interview with CBS Radio, calling it "unsalvageable" and saying it won't make "any difference."

"For something to happen, they're going to have to face the realities of police brutalities, the realities of the need for justice in policing, and the recognition that there's many good people in law enforcement, but not all," Pelosi said of Republicans. "And that we have to address those concerns. So, when they admit that, and have some suggestions that are worthy of consideration -- but so far they were trying to get away with murder, actually -- the murder of George Floyd."

In response, Scott told host Guy Benson: "I thought to myself, 'How in the world does this woman, standing in front of a $24,000 refrigerator, have the sense to jump into the bottomless pit of race politics? Why in the world would she want to do that?'

"There's only one answer, by the way, one answer," Scott continued. "It's because she's lived so long in a state of privilege that she has forgotten that it's the Republican Party that voted more for the Civil Rights-era legislation than the Democrats.

In First Weekend Of Riots, Looting Damage In 20 Major Cities Exceeded $400 Million

Looting costs in America’s 20 largest metropolitan areas exceeded $400 million from the first weekend of rioting, according to a new report from the Anderson Economic Group.

“This includes property damage, lost inventory, cleanup and reconstruction costs, and closure-related lost wages,” the report stated. “[The study] did not assign any costs to peaceful protests or demonstrations.”

The report, published June 5, used “news publications to identify where looting occurred…and estimate the total costs of looting between May 29 and June 3.” The report authors say this value could be severely underestimated.

“Our estimates are based on observed patterns of looting in the 20 largest metropolitan areas across the country. We did not estimate costs in smaller metro areas that may have also experienced looting,” stated Brian Peterson, the firm’s director of public policy and economic analysis. “Furthermore, our estimates do not include costs to state or local governments that experienced property damage or incurred increased emergency service costs.”

According to an approximation given to Market Watch by Property Claim Services, damage incurred by riots in just Minnesota could total more than $25 million.

How Our Mass Dishonor Of Elders Helps Destroy Society

We must re-acknowledge and respect the role of parents and the wisdom of elders so that we can affect authentic, lasting, positive change in our society.

The 1950s brought programming to America’s living rooms that revered parents, especially fathers, in TV shows like “Father Knows Best,” “Make Room for Daddy,” and “Ozzie and Harriet.” The same decade simultaneously engineered the American teenager, ushered in the exaltation of “youth culture” in music and film, and eroded the reverence of parents and elders.

Over the last 70 years, the glorification of youth-centric culture has exacerbated the degradation of parental honor. Hollywood sought to portray parents as unsophisticated and antiquated in their perspectives, and the entertainment industry successfully communicated this through sophomoric plot narratives and imbecilic and self-interested parental characters.

The 1970s classic “All in the Family” depicts Archie Bunker, the traditional all-American father and husband, as a chauvinist and racist. His more open-minded and progressive family futilely attempts to “educate” him throughout the series.

Similarly, contemporary hits like “Shameless” have brought the media’s attack on parenthood full circle. The show tracks the story of patriarch and deadbeat father Frank Gallagher, who repeatedly abandons his family in search of booze and chicanery while his children fight for survival in South Side, Chicago, mirroring the degenerate behavior of their parents.

HORROR! Far Left Mob Beat Christian Man WITH A STICK at St. Louis Statue After Prayer Service — THREE MEN BEATEN (VIDEO)

Last week the Gateway Pundit announced a prayer rally on Saturday at the iconic St. Louis Statue on Art Hill in Forest Park in St. Louis City.

The radical left wants the St. Louis statue removed.

Several priests showed up at the statue on Saturday to pray around the time of our rally.
One local priest was heckled and harassed while he tried to explain the history of St. Louis of France.

The mob threatened to take the St. Louis Cathedral next!

Local leftist activists planned a counter protest against the Christian prayer rally. They smeared our gathering as a KKK rally. Of course, their lies put our lives in danger.

Several families, local Christians, Catholics and Jews came to join our prayer rally on Saturday at noon.
