Michigan men accused of wiring $88M overseas claim it was for their families

Three Michigan men accused of wiring $88 million to multiple overseas accounts claim they did nothing wrong, arguing they were just sending the money to relatives.

Federal prosecutors, however, claim the trio created phony businesses with the express purpose of moving large amounts of cash out of the country.

Omar Alhalmi, 38, was charged last month with funneling $22.3 million to Yemen and other countries, while Fahd Samaha, 45, and Maged Alsabahi, 29, are accused of running an illegal cash delivery operation from 2013 through 2015, the Detroit Free Press.

According to indictments filed Jan. 22, the three men engaged in secret banking practices by creating multiple fake businesses by using the addresses of vacant buildings, storefronts of residences and used “straw business owners” or “fronts” to help send millions to various countries, including Yemen and China.

Mexican Authorities Find Multiple Improvised Explosive Devices in Public Places

Mexico State authorities are on edge after one improvised explosive device recently detonated inside a cathedral while several others were deactivated in popular shopping centers. No cartel has claimed responsibility for the devices.

Over the weekend, law enforcement agencies in Mexico State rushed to two shopping centers to remove and deactivate makeshift bombs, El Sol De Mexico reported. In the first case, the IED was left in the restrooms at the Mundo-E shopping center in Tlalnepantla. The second device was found at the Power Center store in Coacoalco. Police evacuated both centers and deployed bomb squads.

Last week, a similar device detonated inside the San Cristobal Cathedral in Ecatepec, Excelsior reported. The explosion did not cause any injuries and left minor damage to a section of the structure. These incidents follow similar cases where IEDs were deactivated in Mexico State at Walmart stores in December.

Fundraiser for Mike Poplardo by Andrew Anzalone : Help Wrongfully Suspended Teacher

Hi all,

As you may know, I wrote many personal thank you notes and planned to write a thank you note to each person who contributed to this gofundme campaign by adding their comments or by making a donation. I wrote about 100 personal notes before our story received national attention (on Fox News, the Daily Wire, and many other online news and opinion sources). The attention inspired so many good, caring people to reach out with words and donations on this platform and others. I apologize for not being able to keep up with the personal thank you notes and hope that you all know how much my family and I appreciate your support.

In an earlier update I expressed my intentions to work to earn the donations flooding in. I have designed a logo and a slogan that I believe captures the essence of our struggle but I think there is likely people receiving this email who are more talented at such creative efforts so I invite all interested parties to submit a logo and/or a slogan via email to mrpoplardo2@gmail.com . I will narrow down the submissions to three (one will be my designs) and then ask you all to vote to choose the logo and slogan to be print on the blank purple Under Armour jerseys I have already ordered. In about one month the printed jerseys will be made available, at no cost ( while supplies last) as another thank you. The printed shirts will be made available at the site and time of the next administrative hearing and will be made available in other ways. The person(s) who submits the “winning” logo and/or slogan will also be invited to co-chair our new scholarship committee. The Scholarship committee will award 2 $500 scholarships to graduating students who have demonstrated the courage to STAND-UP when it would have been easier to stand-by.

Lastly, adults are who would like to know more about this evolving story may follow my twitter feed Michael Poplardo @Ypurplesnowman .

Nate Jackson: Just How Far Left Are Democrats Going?

Gallup finds a stark and staggering leftward shift in the opinions of rank-and-file Democrats.

We’ve spent much of the last two years chronicling how far and fast Democrats are moving to the extreme left. But don’t take our word for it — take the word of average Democrats.

In a new Gallup survey, “Understanding Shifts in Democratic Party Ideology,” the organization attempts to discern an answer to what average Democrat voters think on a range of current issues. What researchers found is staggering, though it confirms what we’ve written for years:

As Gallup has previously reported, the percentage of Democrats nationally who identify as politically liberal has been increasing. This has occurred in three distinct phases: 1) 2001-2006, when the percentage was trending steadily upward; 2) 2007-2012, when liberalism held steady near 40% for several years in a row and 3) 2013-2018, when liberalism resumed its upward trajectory.

The percentage of Democrats identifying as politically liberal averaged 32% in the first period, 39% in the second and 46% in the third. At the same time, the percentages identifying as conservative and moderate fell equally.

7-year-old’s hot chocolate stand raises $5K for Trump’s border wall

(AUSTIN) — A young Texas boy has raised thousands of dollars to support President Donald Trump’s proposed border wall with his hot chocolate stand.

Austin resident Shane Stevens posted a Facebook video of his son, Benton, manning his hot chocolate stand in a parking lot next to a gas station on Saturday afternoon.

“So, what are we out here doing?” Stevens asked.

Benton replied, “Doing a hot chocolate stand to help Trump make the wall.”

The father-son duo sold cups of the chocolaty beverage for $2 each. Jumbo “Nancy Pelosi” marshmallows were available for an additional 50 cents, while mini-sized “Beto O’Rourke” marshmallows were available free of charge.

Inside the AGT Juggarnaut - FBI/DOJ Coverup of Clinton Foundation and Russian/China Related Crimes – PART II!

A 2016 DOJ criminal investigation was suppressed and buried by the DOJ/FBI that involved a major NY Democratic power broker, Bill and Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation.

The investigation revolved around the illegal sale of US technology that was ITAR/EAR controlled and US State Department regulated. This included advanced intelligence systems, surveillance, thermal cameras, sensors, radar, C4I and cyber warfare systems that were sold to Russia and China in the years before the 2016 election.

The DOJ terminated its internal investigation despite clear and irrefutable evidence of criminal activity and hid it from the public!

30-FOOT BORDER WALL BEGINS CONSTRUCTION IN CALIFORNIA

Several days after President Donald Trump declared a national emergency, construction began on the fifth border wall project of his administration.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced Tuesday that work has started on replacing 14 miles of a steel-mesh fence along the U.S.-Mexico border near San Diego, The Associated Press reported. The fence is being replaced with 30-foot high steel bollards. It is actually the second layer of barrier to be put up in the area, with the first layer nearly complete.

SLSCO Ltd., a company located in Galveston, Texas, scored the $101 million contract in December 2018. The Trump administration has already awarded around $1 billion in contracts to cover 97 miles of the southern border, with the project in San Diego being one of the latest.

Trump touted the construction Wednesday of a border wall in New Mexico.

Doctors share how burnout nearly led them to suicide

In the darkest moments of her depressive episode, Dr. Carol Pak-Teng lay in bed for hours, struggling to summon up the energy to work another 12-hour shift in the emergency room.

“There were moments where I thought, ‘If I just melted away into this bed, that wouldn’t be so bad,’ ” the 34-year-old recalls of that time in 2015. About a year later, another resident at the Manhattan hospital where Pak-Teng worked — whom she declines to name — died after jumping off its roof.

“The other residents weren’t even that shocked,” she tells The Post, “because so many of us have had that thought.”

Warren Proposes Universal Childcare Funded By ‘Ultra-Millionaire Tax’

Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren laid out a new universal child care plan on Tuesday.

To fund said plan, the recently declared 2020 presidential contender announced her proposal to institute an “Ultra-Millionaire Tax” that her campaign estimates would generate $2.75 trillion in revenue over a 10-year period. Warren announced her long-anticipated plan in a Medium.com post.

“Today, in more than half the states in the country, a year of childcare costs more than a year of in-state college tuition,” Warren said. “We’re placing a huge financial burden on working families looking to find a safe and nurturing place for their kids.”

Mother blasts lenient sentence for transgender woman who sexually assaulted daughter, 10, in restroom

'I don't have any confidence whatsoever that he will not go out and do something equally as bad or worse'

The mother — who isn't being named in order to protect her child's identity — was furious that 18-year-old Katie Dolatowski is serving the sentence in the community with "tagging orders" rather than in jail at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, the paper said.

"I don't have any confidence whatsoever that he will not go out and do something equally as bad or worse," the mother told the Courier.
What happened?

When the victim emerged from a restroom stall on March 4 of last year, Dolatowski grabbed the girl by the face, shoved her back into the stall, and ordered her to remove her pants, the paper said.

Dolatowski also told the girl a man was outside who would kill her mother, the Courier added.

WALSH: The Left's Demand For Oppression Has Exceeded The Supply

Jussie Smollet has finally been arrested for staging a fake hate crime attack against himself. Police believe he also sent a threatening letter covered in white powder to himself, which could presumably lead to more (and potentially much more serious) charges. He was motivated, according to law enforcement, by a desire for a pay raise. It is not clear how getting beat up would necessarily lead directly to a raise. It certainly seems like an odd way to engage in salary negotiations.

I would theorize that there was probably more to it, psychologically, than mere greed. Everyone likes money, everyone wants a raise, but most people don’t hire two large Nigerian men to kick the hell out of them in order to achieve that goal. Why did Jussie take that rather drastic and convoluted step? Because, as I wrote a few days ago, he covets victimhood. Our culture fosters such a mentality, teaching kids from a young age that victimhood is power, victimhood is status, and victimhood is privilege.

It is a very unfortunate thing, then, to live in the most tolerant and open civilization in the history of the world while at the same time seeking validation and identity in oppression. The rash of fake hate crimes shows how desperate the victimhood mongers have become. But we need not limit ourselves to hate crime hoaxes.

Harris asked about Smollett case after dining with Al Sharpton in NYC

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) was peppered with questions about the actor Jussie Smollett on Thursday when leaving a meeting with the Rev. Al Sharpton in Harlem, N.Y.

Video captured after the event showed Harris briskly walking to a car while ignoring shouted questions regarding the Smollett case about which she had previously commented.

Smollett was arrested early Thursday and charged with one count of disorderly conduct in connection with filing a false police report over his claim that he was attacked in a Chicago neighborhood by two men yelling racist and homophobic slurs.

Harris was among the first 2020 Democratic presidential candidates to weigh in on Smollett's case last month after he claimed to be the victim of a hate crime. Harris called the alleged attack a "modern-day lynching" in late January. President Trump also condemned the incident at the time, saying "it doesn't get worse."

Secret Service warning: High-tech thieves can remotely skim credit cards at gas pumps

Usually when people mention pain at the pump, they are talking about a rise in gas prices. Not Krebs on Security. The website wrote this week about a new warning from the fraud-investigation branch of the Secret Service. In a memo to its field offices, Krebs reports, the agency said some high-tech thieves have devised an innovative way to steal your credit card information: adding next-gen credit card skimmers to gas pumps.

These nasty little gadgets swipe the data from cards that use the contactless payment method at the gas pump. Then, through a small cellphone and Bluetooth-enabled device hidden inside the payment terminal, it sends the stolen details via mobile text message to almost anywhere in the world.

Krebs notes that, thanks to the clever addition of the SMS tech into the skimmers, the crooks never need to return to the scene of the crime to download the stolen credit card data, making it all the more difficult for them to be caught.

WATCH: Roseanne Barr Goes After Ocasio-Cortez's Politics And Looks

Roseanne Barr took to her YouTube channel on Saturday to rail against socialist media darling Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), whom she called a "dumbass," an "Israel hater," and a "Farrakhan-loving ... bug-eyed b****."

Barr did not mention Ocasio-Cortez by name but spoke of the author of the Green New Deal, which the freshman Democrat authored.

"That Green New Deal that that Farrakhan-loving b**** -- I don’t remember her name. The bug-eyed b**** who looks like a realtor. She got those realtor eyes. I can always tell by realtor eyes. She got 'em. Bug-eyed lyin' b****. Farrakhan fan Israel-hater. Lefty. Dumbass. Dumbass. Dumb as they get," the comedian started the video.

Barr was referring to Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, who has a history of anti-Semitic remarks such as calling Jews "termites."

In January, Ocasio-Cortez spoke at New York City's Women's March despite wide backlash over leaders Linda Sarsour and Tamika Mallory's ties to anti-Semitism. Sarsour has praised Farrakhan and appeared onstage with Rev. Jeremiah Wright; Mallory has openly praised Farrakhan, too.

Barr continued: "So, I’m gonna try to correct some of the mistakes she’s made, like costing hundreds of people decent-paying jobs 'cause, I don’t know, they breathe carbon in the air or some horses***."

"She got paid to do that. Can you imagine?" asked Barr. "Paid to decimate communities. But that’s what the [Democrats] have been doing. That's what socialism does."

New election ordered in fraud-tainted North Carolina congressional race

The North Carolina Board of Elections on Thursday ordered a new election in the state's 9th Congressional District, capping months of fraud allegations and triggering the first re-do balloting for a House race since the mid-1970s.

The state board voted 5-0 for a new election after evidence mounted that Republican nominee Mark Harris' apparent 905-vote election night win over Democratic rival Dan McCready was due to ballot tampering. Harris himself earlier Thursday called for a new election.

Harris' request came a day after his son, federal prosecutor John Harris, warned his father about shady tactics by a local political operative employed by the campaign, Leslie McCrae Dowless.

Lifestyles of the rich and socialist: Bernie Sanders has 3 houses, makes millions

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., entered the 2020 presidential race this week promising to transform America with a left-wing vision of economic and environmental justice. But the self-described democratic socialist’s high-end income, multiple houses and fondness for air travel have already opened him up to criticism that his lifestyle doesn't always match the rhetoric.

Sanders has pitched himself as a grassroots economic populist, focusing on income inequality and higher taxes for the rich.

"Our campaign is about transforming our country and creating a government based on the principles of economic, social, racial and environmental justice," he said.

A Viewer Writes: An Open Letter to The News Readers

So, on February 20 & 21, I find myself reading similar but varying versions of an Lieutenant in the Coast Guard, & "Ex-Marine” who is being held in jail on weapons charges, drugs, and being a “Domestic Terrorist. From reading a CBS story and another on a site called “Canoe” this man works at the DC Coast Guard Headquarters and it is being said by others that he refers to himself as a “white nationalist” and routinely reads a “manifesto” written by Norwegian mass murderer Anders Breivik who, as a “right wing extremist" killed 77 people in a bomb and shooting rampage, instructing those around him to collect survival items.

I guess from this article he DRAFTED, (not SENT) an email (one) that he also was looking at Russia and other countries that don’t agree with "Western Liberalism” and for “the last two years” had “regularly searched for pro-Russian as well as neo-Nazi literature.”

They said he also looked at guns for sale and researched different tactical manuals on home made munitions.

Now, I don’t know what this guy’s job is at the Coast Guard HQ, but I would guess a lot of it has to do with National Security and studying up on different ways other militaries of other countries work is probably a large part, if not all, of what those guys at HQ do all day, but that’s just me. As the article continued on, the speculation was made that he was found to be thinking different ways of killing off large portions of a population, whether by bombs, biological attacks or attacking the food supply, all of which to me would certainly be considered by any enemy of the United States. I would think trying to out think terrorists and other enemies of the US is his primary JOB, and coming up with original thoughts and ideas just like a terrorist might do would really be a good thing.

It’s fairly obvious to me that whoever gathered all this information on him had full access to his work computer. That would most likely be a Superior of his. The story goes on to say his home was then raided where guns, drugs and ammo were confiscated along with a list of most all of, in my opinion, of this country’s most despicable Democrat politicians and Fake News stars. He was also drug tested, as an opioid called Tramadol was found in the home.

So, here sits a Marine & Coast Guard guy in a jail cell. His home has been turned upside down and he can’t go back there. So far, he has COMMITTED NO CRIME. The photo of his gun collection looks a lot like mine; he’s got a couple more than I do. Everything shown there is legal to own in his home state, even the over 10 round magazines as long as he bought them in another state or owned them before they were outlawed. There’s also A THOUSAND ROUNDS OF AMMO. Heck, I’ve got at LEAST 3,000. He used an email page as a word processor to gather some thoughts, but NEVER SENT ANYTHING OUT TO ANYONE. I’ve done that many times. I also have bad joints that are VERY worn out and a prescription for Tramadol to relieve the pain after a hard day. Testing me for “drugs”, I would test positive for Tramadol along with 2 blood pressure medications and a cholesterol inhibitor. I’ve also discussed politics with my friends around the bonfire or over some adult beverages and heard many folks loudly agree that “a lot of these *&%# politicians should be taken out and shot!, lol. AND, in fact, during my raid, they would find, proudly magneted to my refrigerator a list of politicians, MOSTLY DEMOCRAT & a few Republicans who have voted on anti- Second Amendment or other House or Senate bill that I absolutely don’t agree with and I use that list every ELECTION DAY to remind me of who to vote OUT OF OFFICE.

Now this guy might be the wackiest madman ever caught just before he tried to take out massive numbers of the population with only a thousand rounds of ammo, or one of his bosses or somebody in the IT Department REALLY hates him. Folks, it’s really time for this fake news, convict everybody in the media first and ask questions later has to stop. This guy is now labelled as a “Domestic Terrorist”, & "White Nationalist” and who knows how many other now ever-so-popular names being called out by the lame stream media by now. AND HE HAS COMMITTED EXACTLY ZERO CRIMES!!!!!

It’s time to stop this train….

Pew Research: 1-in-10 U.S. Voters in 2020 Election Will Be Foreign-Born

About one-in-ten eligible voters in the United States will have been born outside of the country by the 2020 election cycle, new research finds – just as President Trump has called for more legal immigration.

A study conducted by Pew Research Center of what the 2020 U.S. electorate will look like finds that about ten percent of eligible voters will be foreign-born, driven entirely by the country’s mass legal immigration system that admits more than 1.2 million legal immigrants a year, and accounting for the highest level of foreign-born voters in the electorate since 1970.

This concludes that in 2020, when Trump gears up for re-election against a Democrat challenger, there will be as many Generation Z voters — those born after 1996 — as there are voters who are foreign-born.

EU Border Agency Confirms Salvini’s Populist Migrant Policies Working

The European Union (EU) border agency Frontex has released new statistical data showing that the tough migrant policies of Italian populist Interior Minister Matteo Salvini have drastically reduced illegal migration.

The EU agency revealed that the Mediterranean migrant route numbers had dropped from 118,962 in 2017 to 23,276 in 2018, a decline of around 80 percent following the formation of the populist coalition government of Salvini’s Lega and the Five Star Movement Il Giornale reports.

According to the data, the number of illegals in 2018 is the lowest amount since 2012 and showed that while Italy had seen a massive decline due to Salvini’s policies, socialist-led Spain had seen a 157 percent rise in crossings by the sea in 2018.

Illinois Considering "Asset Transfers" To Pensions: Be Afraid

Governor JB Pritzker’s administration has now made clear it will seriously consider the latest idea to address Illinois’ pension crisis – transferring public assets directly to state pensions. It recently announced the formation of a task force on the subject.

At its core, the concept is exceptionally simple. In practice, however, it’s exceptionally subject to smoke and mirrors and would further obscure a pension system that’s already far too opaque. More importantly, asset transfers do nothing to improve the state’s overall fiscal health.

Just convey ownership of some public assets to the pension, for free, in addition to the cash contributions taxpayers make now. That’s all this is about. Maybe the Illinois Lottery or Illinois Tollway for state pensions. Maybe Midway Airport or its water system for Chicago pensions. Those are examples of assets that have been mentioned that might be handed over.

Illinois state pensions are officially reported to have assets about $130 billion less than what they need to have on hand to pay for pension benefits already earned. Turn over ownership of the tollway and some other assets and, voila, the thinking goes, that shortfall would shrink by whatever the transferred asset is worth.

The first problem should be obvious – the state, as a whole, would be no better off. Whatever assets the state owns – which are your assets as taxpayers – would simply be moved over to the pension funds for the sole purpose of covering benefit obligations. But the pensions are really just a unit of government because Illinois courts have made clear that the sponsoring unit of government is liable directly to pensioners if pension assets ever fall short. So, pensions might be made more secure by an asset transfer, but the government’s overall balance sheet remains the same.

Not true, I’ve heard some proponents of asset transfers say. They claim there are certain public assets where the value of the asset can only be fully unlocked through a transfer to a pension. Just selling or leasing the asset to some third party, they say, wouldn’t work. I’ll believe that when I see an example.

'Deep State' Leaker Charged

An IRS analyst has been charged with leaking Michael Cohen's banking information to attorney Michael Avenatti.

According to CNN, John C. Fry — an investigative analyst within the law enforcement unit at the IRS — passed along suspicious activity reports regarding Cohen's banking habits. Cohen, who previously worked as President Donald Trump's personal lawyer, has since pleaded guilty to bank and tax fraud.

Fry is charged with leaking the confidential documents to Avenatti, who has chased Trump and Cohen over hush payments made to his client and porn star Stormy Daniels. Prosecutors said Fry also confirmed the existence of the activity reports to a New Yorker reporter, likely Ronan Farrow.

Fry was released on $50,000 bail Thursday.

Prosecutors said Fry, who works in the San Francisco IRS office, downloaded five suspicious activity reports in May 2018 that flagged unusual activity on an account belonging to Cohen. He is reported to have called a number associated with Avenatti minutes after he accessed the documents. He is alleged to have called Avenatti and Farrow days later as well.

The US ‘Has the Most Mass Shootings’—and Other Bogus Gun Research

Last week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., warned President Donald Trump that if he declared an “emergency” to build a wall, “think what a president with different values can present. … Why don’t you declare [the epidemic of gun violence in America] an emergency, Mr. President? I wish you would. … A Democratic president can declare emergencies as well.”

Her fellow Democrats, Sens. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., quickly agreed. Warren tweeted: “Gun violence is an emergency. Climate change is an emergency.”

Yikes.

Not every problem in America should be declared an emergency—or used by a president to justify acting without Congress.

The Supreme Court unanimously says states can’t steal your car

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court unanimously ruled that it’s unconstitutional for states to steal people’s cars. That’s a great step forward in cracking down on civil asset forfeiture and the practice of states and cities seizing personal property as a means to raise money.

The decision is a victory for Tyson Timbs, an Indiana man who had been fighting the state to get his $42,000 Land Rover SUV back after it was seized during his arrest. He had purchased the vehicle with the proceeds from an insurance policy he received after his father’s death.

Nonetheless, the state thought that his guilty plea to selling a few hundred dollars in heroin to undercover police officers entitled them to the vehicle on the grounds that he had used it to transport drugs. As the Supreme Court explained, however, the forfeiture of the vehicle amounted to “more than four times the maximum $10,000 monetary fine assessable against Timbs for his drug conviction.”

Over At Last? AG Barr To Announce End Of Mueller Probe Next Week: CNN

Barely a week after being sworn in as the head of the Justice Department, Attorney General William Barr is reportedly planning to announce as early as next week that Robert Mueller has completed his investigation and that a confidential report on Mueller's findings will be submitted to Congress in the very near future.

According to CNN, the preparations - which are in line with an NBC report from late last year that the Mueller report would be completed by the end of February - "are the clearest indication yet that Mueller is nearly done with his almost two-year investigation." Barr has said that he wants to be as "transparent" as possible while being "consistent with the rules and the law.

According to the law, Mueller must submit a "confidential" report to the AG after the investigation ends. But the rules don't require it to be shared with Congress or the public (though, like everything involving the Mueller probe, it will almost certainly leak).

One thing that remains unclear is to what extent Mueller's findings will be shared with Congress (since the DOJ typically frowns on publicizing embarrassing or compromising information about people who haven't been charged with a crime...though that principle has apparently gone out the window over the last two years).

CNN also noted that it's possible that Mueller has made referrals to other prosecutors besides the New York US attorney who brought charges against Michael Cohen. The existence of other investigations might also soon come to light. CNN reported that attorneys from the US attorney's office for Washington DC have been visiting Mueller "more than usual."

Signs that the Mueller probe is winding down have been multiplying in recent weeks. Four of his 17 prosecutors have been reassigned, and the grand jury he has used to secure his indictments hasn't convened since late January.

While Trump is probably hoping that the Russia collusion narrative will decidedly die after the report is released, former DNI James Clapper - whom Trump threatened to strip of his security clearance - warned that the report might leave open the question of whether there actually was collusion between Trump and Russia, giving the release a disappointingly anti-climactic feel, according to the Hill.

Busted Train: California Governor Whines About Trump Holding Him Accountable for Wasting Billions of Taxpayer Dollars

California Governor Gavin Newsom isn't happy President Trump is holding him accountable and liable for $3.5 billion in federal taxpayer funds after the state's "green" fast train project crashed and burned. From the AP:

The Trump administration said Tuesday that it plans to cancel $929 million awarded to California’s high-speed rail project and wants the state to return an additional $2.5 billion that it has already spent.

The U.S. Department of Transportation announcement follows through on President Donald Trump’s threats to claw back $3.5 billion that the federal government gave to California to build a bullet train between Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Gov. Gavin Newsom vowed a fight to keep the money and said the move was in response to California again suing the administration , this time over Trump’s emergency declaration to pay for a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

“This is clear political retribution by President Trump, and we won’t sit idly by,” Newsom said in a statement. “This is California’s money, and we are going to fight for it.”

Ah yes, holding government officials accountable for wasting billions in hard earned, taxpayer money is considered "political retribution" by the left.

Sixteen states and at least six activist groups have filed or are preparing lawsuits taking aim at President Trump’s Feb. 15 emergency declaration that seeks to divert already appropriated government funds to build a wall on the nation’s porous border with Mexico.

This was to be expected. When the Left loses elections, it turns to unelected federal judges to carry out its will.

There is also an effort afoot in Congress to overturn the declaration. If both chambers pass a resolution of disapproval, White House senior adviser Stephen Miller seemed to indicate Sunday that the president would veto it. Trump is “going to protect his national emergency declaration, guaranteed,” Miller said on Fox News Channel.

Of the six activist organizations, four –Public Citizen, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), and Defenders of Wildlife— have been funded by radical leftist financier George Soros through his philanthropies.

The 16 states seeking a preliminary injunction to prevent Trump from moving forward with wall construction while the case is pending in the courts are California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, and Virginia, according to the Washington Post.

In what is clearly an example of judge-shopping, the states filed at U.S. District Court in Northern California, which is part of the territory covered by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit where various judges have issued sweeping injunctions against Trump administration policies.

Abortion Worker Tells Woman Baby Will Drown In A Jar Of 'Solution' If Born Alive

A horrific undercover video released by the pro-life group Live Action this week reveals an abortion clinic worker telling a woman that her baby would be drowned in a jar of "solution" if it were born alive during the procedure.

According to LifeNews, Live Action filmed the video as part of an undercover investigation in 2013 and circulated it once again this Wednesday as Congress debates a bill to protect newborn babies from infanticide.

"Our investigators exposed this New York abortion facility, which says they will put a born-alive baby in a jar of ‘solution’ to drown her," Live Action founder Lila Rose tweeted Wednesday. "They also say to ‘flush’ the baby down the toilet, or ‘put it in a bag’ if she’s born alive."

The 2013 investigation had an undercover activist seek an abortion at 23 weeks of pregnancy at Emily’s Women’s Center in the Bronx. This was before New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed into law legislation that allowed women to obtain an abortion for any reason up until birth.

Optimism in Trump camp grows as Democrats embrace their inner socialist

Republicans toiling to re-elect President Trump are freshly optimistic, confident a Democratic Party dominated by ambitious progressives is scaring wayward factions of the conservative coalition back into the fold.

With a midterm election rebuke and disastrous government shutdown in the rear view, Trump’s 2020 campaign team and constellation of key outside supporters are sensing a turnaround. The president hasn’t changed his controversial ways. But Trump’s top lieutenants believe that newly empowered liberal Democrats — in Washington and across the country — plus the sometimes peculiar spectacle of the Democratic primary, are causing uneasy Republicans to reconsider their opposition.

"As the House Democrat caucus is increasingly dominated by extreme left members, and as Democratic presidential candidates work to outmaneuver each other in embracing socialist policies, the choice will become increasingly clear,” Trump campaign spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany said in a statement provided to the Washington Examiner. “Support for the president is already on the rise."

Vermont House passes sweeping no-limits abortion legislation

The Vermont House passed overwhelmingly Thursday a sweeping, no-limits abortion bill that makes terminating a pregnancy a “fundamental right” and ensures access to the procedure at every stage of gestation.

The bill, H. 57, was approved by a vote of 106-36 after legislators defeated a dozen proposed amendments offered by Republicans, including provisions requiring a 48-hour waiting period; parental notification for minors, and a cut-off at 24 weeks’ gestation except in medical emergencies.

“I trust women. Therefore I cast my vote in favor of codifying protections Vermonters already have in safeguarding this fundamental reproductive right,” said Democrat state Rep. Becca White in her floor speech.

Meanwhile, Vermont Right to Life executive director Mary Hahn Beerworth blasted Democrats for rejecting “common-sense amendments to protect minor girls, to limit abortions on unborn babies in the later states of development, to provide informed consent (including alternatives to abortion), to provide regulation and inspection of abortion clinics.”

“It is official. The Vermont Democrat Party now holds the dubious distinction of being the party of unlimited, unrestricted and unregulated abortion-on-demand throughout pregnancy,” said Ms. Beerworth in a statement.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez blasts critics of her stance on Amazon deal

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez went on a Twitter tear accusing people of undermining her intelligence over statements she made about Amazon’s failed move to the Big Apple.

“Frankly, the knee-jerk reaction assuming that I ‘don’t understand’ how tax giveaways to corps work is disappointing,” the progressive darling wrote Tuesday.

The youngest member of Congress came under firewhen she argued last week that the close to $3 billion in tax breaks and subsidies the city and state offered Amazon to build a headquarters in Long Island City could have been better spent on hiring teachers or fixing the subways.

In a five-tweet rant, Ocasio-Cortez lashed out at people who pointed out that $2.5 billion of the $3 billion represented future tax breaks — not a large pile of cash that could now be spent elsewhere.

“No, it’s not possible that I could come to a different conclusion. The debate ‘must’ be over my intelligence & understanding, instead of the merits of the deal,” she wrote.

Northam drops plans to attend racial reconciliation event Thursday at Virginia Union University

Gov. Ralph Northam will not attend a racial reconciliation event planned at Virginia Union University on Thursday, acceding to a request from student leaders at the historically black school.

The visit was to be Northam’s first public event in a planned racial reconciliation tour after the Feb. 1 revelation that a racist photograph appeared on his page in his 1984 medical school yearbook.

Northam’s visit was supposed to coincide with VUU’s annual tribute to alumni who protested segregation in Richmond nearly 60 years ago. The president of the school’s student government association, Jamon Phenix, wrote in a letter Monday that Northam’s visit would overshadow the commemoration.

Former U.S. Prosecutor: Trump-Russia Collusion ‘Made Up’

Former Federal Prosecutor Sidney Powell believes “the entire Russia collusion narrative was made up.”

While speaking to Fullmeasure, Powell was asked what is the “story” of the first half of President Trump’s tenure. “That the entire Russia collusion narrative was made up,” she asserted.

Powell went on to say, “That the FBI and the intelligence community and the Department of Justice began an investigation against four American citizens simply because they worked for the opposition political candidate, that being Donald Trump.”

Powell sees corruption, certainly. But perhaps not where the mainstream media has been looking. Instead, she believes this process has indicted both the Justice Department and the U.S. intelligence community. Specifically, the seeming willful ignorance with which evidence in certain court documents has been dismissed.

She cited a blistering “99 page opinion” from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court “in which she is taking the FBI to task for having given unlimited, unsupervised access to raw intelligence.” The raw intelligence in question includes:

…the database of everything the NSA, the National Security Agency, collects on everybody. Word searches, keystrokes, what do you look at in Google, telephone information, calls, texts, you name it. Everything, every nightmare anybody has of information being collected by big brother, the FBI gave three private contractors unlimited, unsupervised access to that as far back as 2015.
