My Dog Needs Space

EVER NOTICE HOW MICHELLE AND BARACK HAVE THE SAME CAMPAIGN TRAIL STUTTER? WE CREATED A VIDEO COMPARISON

Those who tuned in to Michelle Obama’s speech at the Democratic National Convention Tuesday may have experienced a strange sense of familiarity.  Not because she has been in the national spotlight for the past four years, but because she bore a striking resemblance to her famous husband in speech and gesture.
Perhaps it is the natural result of being together for decades.  Perhaps the famous orator coached her before her speech.  Either way, the similarity was uncanny.
First and foremost, as Gawker noted  , the first lady spoke with a feigned stutter.  The admittedly left-leaning Gawker author writes:

Democrats Remove ‘God’ From Party Platform, Add Support for Taxpayer-Funded Abortion-on-Demand

The Democratic National Committee released the text of its party platform earlier this week, which many are noting has undergone significant additions and subtractions since the last election.

Some state that the most glaring exclusion from the platform, called “Moving America Forward,” is the mention of God.

“We need a government that stands up for the hopes, values, and interests of working people, and gives everyone willing to work hard the chance to make the most of their God-given potential,” the 2008 platform stated.

U.S. Citizenship Needed To Buy Obama Products

PALM BEACH, Fla. – Sometimes irony can be pretty ironic, even for the president of the United States.

While Barack Obama is selling items such as mugs, buttons and T-shirts in his online store to cash in on controversy over his birthplace and eligibility, it seems anyone interested in making a purchase has to be a U.S. citizen, or at least a legal permanent resident.

At the bottom of the checkout page in the online store, Obama’s campaign has posted the following:

What Are The Most Stolen Vehicles In The Region?

The latest lists of most-stolen cars in the region don't include luxury vehicles or brand-new cars.

The 2000 Dodge Caravan was the vehicle reported stolen most often in Maryland last year, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, a not-for-profit organization which crunched the numbers of all vehicles reported stolen.

In D.C. it was a slightly older Caravan - the 1998 model - that was ripped off more than anything else on four wheels.

DNC secretly scheduled guests: Actresses Johansson, Portman, Washington

Clint Eastwood meet Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman and Kerry Washington. The three actresses, firmly anchored in Hollywood's royalty, have been secretly scheduled to speak at the Democratic National

Convention, according to a tentative schedule provided by a source to CNN.

The schedule lists the three actresses as speaking on Thursday evening, the same night that President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will accept their party's respective nominations. Johansson, Portman and Washington are listed as following The Foo Fighters on the itinerary. Convention officials announced that the alternative rock band would perform last week.

The Racist, Bloody Truth About Democrats

I don’t how Democrats will lie and misrepresent their own history and the history of their political opponents this week in North Carolina.

But you can be sure it will be a major part of the Democratic convention.

I got to thinking about this after listening to Vice President Joe Biden insinuate to a mostly black audience last month that Republicans sought to enslave them, again.

Specifically, Biden said Mitt Romney is “going to let the big banks once again write their own rules – unchain Wall Street!” Looking around the room, Biden said in his best attempt at a Delaware drawl: “They’re going to put y’all back in chains.”

‘Godless’: Sen. Durbin Lashes Out at Fox Host Who Calls Him Out Over Dems Removing ‘God’ From Platform

During Fox News’ special coverage of the Democratic National Convention Tuesday, host Bret Baier confronted Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) in Charlotte about the Democratic Party’s decision to remove all mentions of the word “God” from their official 2012 platform. Instead of providing a simple answer, Durbin instead unfairly accused Baier and Fox News of insinuating that all Democrats are “Godless” creatures.

“If the narrative that is being presented on your station and through your channel and your network, is that the Democrats are Godless people, they ought to know better. God is not a franchise of the Republican party,” Durbin said. “Those of us that believe in God and those of us who have dedicated our lives to helping others in the name of God don’t want to take a second seat to anyone who is suggesting that one word out of the platform means that the Democrats across America are Godless, come on Bret.”

“No, no, no,” Baier replied, “I don’t think that‘s what’s being said. We are reporting what’s in the platform.”

SALISBURY CITY COUNCIL PRESIDENT TO HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE ON KEY CITY ISSUES

SALISBURY – Salisbury City Council President Terry Cohen will hold a brief press conference on Thursday, September 6, at 10:30 a.m. to provide details on several key city issues being addressed by the council.

The press conference will be held in Council Chambers, Room 301, of the Government Office Building at 125 N. Division Street.

Thank You!

Salisbury News has already broken yet another record day today. Perhaps it's the elections, perhaps it's the news on pay increases, perhaps it's the news on our Idiot Mayor hiding numbers from the Council so he could use it instead for his special interest friends, I don't know.

All I do know is that our numbers are through the roof today. I do apologize for the delay in comments being published. I woke up this morning with a killer sinus infection that has knocked me off my feet pretty much all day and nothing is better.

We are doing our best to keep up but let me tell you, it's NOT easy! To ALL you Mother's out there, I am taking care of myself. I am taking antibiotics and eating right. I am also resting as much as possible but I am short on Orange Juice and Cookie Dough Ice Cream. LOL

All kidding aside, thank you so much for visiting Salisbury News. Based on these numbers it's pretty darned obvious we have a lot of new faces visiting this Site today and we truly appreciate it very much. I'd also like to than our Contributors for stepping in when I needed them most. Almost every single Post that went up Saturday, Sunday and Monday was from Contributors. They allowed me to spend some very special time with my Granddaughter and I am forever grateful.

Convention Floor Erupts As Dems Restore References to God, Jerusalem In Platform

The floor of the Democratic National Convention erupted Wednesday over a sudden move to restore to the platform a reference to "God" and recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital -- after heavy criticism from Republicans for initially omitting them.

Democrats, though, were hardly in agreement over the reversal.

A large and loud group of delegates shouted "no" as convention chairman, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, called for the vote late Wednesday afternoon. Villaraigosa had to call for the vote three times before ruling that the "ayes" had it. Many in the crowd booed after he determined the language would be restored.

"YouCan't Be Pro Business Without Being Pro Education"

Michelle and Barack Obama are standing firm on this quote. Let's look at it locally. Jim Ireton is educated, how's it working for you? He knows absolutely NOTHING about business, NOR do ANY of the Obama's.

You see, it's those catch phrases liberals love to use to make things sound good. However, they are so far from the truth it's scary.

Mr. Obama & Mr. Ireton, I BUILT MY OWN BUSINESSES and YOU had absolutely NOTHING to do with any of them nor my success. In fact, the liberals discouraged my education and reneged, allowing me to excel and retire by 40 years old.

The Obama's are trying to make Americans feel STUPID if they don't have or get an education. However, I can guarantee you one thing, every single one of you can easily say YOU could teach our President and Mayor on how to do your job and guess what, they'll never be able to do it anywhere near as well as you can.

I can assure you, Obama and Ireton's hands are as soft as a baby's bottom, wanna bet? Neither one of them have ANY business experience beyond working for the Government.

So while you sit back this evening and listen the the BS our President will spew, know when he makes this remark, (AGAIN) you'll know he's full of crap.

Navy SEAL Book Contains Classified Information: Pentagon

A book about the U.S. raid that killedOsama bin Laden by a former Navy SEAL who participated in the mission contains classified information and the Pentagon is reviewing legal options, a Defense Department spokesman said on Tuesday.

But the book's co-author denied the book contained any information that would jeopardize the safety or future missions of Navy special forces personnel.

The book, "No Easy Day," chronicles last year's stealth operation in which members of U.S. Navy SEAL Team Six swooped by helicopter into the al Qaeda leader's house in Pakistan and killed him, ending an intense decade-long manhunt that began with the September 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington D.C.

Fox News‘ Chris Wallace Reacts to First Lady’s Speech: ‘It Was All About Government’

While Fox News political analyst Chris Wallace called first lady Michelle Obama’s address to the Democratic National Convention “masterful” and heartfelt, he said he was struck by the fact that nearly all of her speech was about about the importance of government in the lives of Americans.

“I’ve got to say, listening closely to the speech one of the things that struck me was it was all about government,” Wallace said Tuesday night during Fox News’ coverage of the DNC. “When she talked at the beginning about the people who exemplify the best of the American spirit, she talked about teachers and first responders and the military, all very admirable professions, but all government.”

He continued: “When she talked about ways to build the middle class, it was all about the auto bailout and student loans and health care reform, once again, all government programs…That was a subtle subtext to the entire speech.”

THESE ARE 5 OF THE BIGGEST LIES TOLD ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE DNC

With the Democratic convention underway, fact-checkers have already poured over the first day of coverage  , looking for tidbits of untruth, outright lies and verbal blunders. Not surprisingly — after all, this is politics and many politicians, regardless of party, have a penchant for stretching the truth — numerous deceptive statements were identified.

FactCheck.org, a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center, found a plethora of lies   and presented them, in detail, on Wednesday morning. The Washington Post’s The Fact Checker did the same  . Going speaker-by-speaker and point-by-point, both outlets noticed oddities in discussions and comments about taxation, job growth under Romney when he was governor of Massachusetts and statistics surrounding equal pay, to name just a few problematic subjects.

Just Settle, What's $4 Mil Anyway

A sexual discrimination and retaliation lawsuit against the Homeland Security Department is likely to be settled out of court. The case has led to the resignation of Suzanne Barr, the chief of staff of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. His lawyer now says a federal magistrate judge will mediate the case in Washington, and that the Justice Department agreed to mediation. Two other male employees have made similar claims. Barr has denied the allegations.

And then The Thoughtful Ones commenced: What a waste of network time, a distraction from Mitt Romney’s moment. A faux narrative that keeps facts at bay and silliness front and center. It was disrespectful to the president. This is what it’s come to . . . .

Egyptian Cleric: ‘Islam Instructs a Man to Beat His Wife…So That She Will Mend Her Ways’ & Know Her Place

Egyptian cleric Abd Al-Rahman recently went on Al-Nas television to explain that men are “instructed” to beat their wives under Islam as a last resort before divorce, partly to show her that she is beneath her husband.

“A good woman, even if beaten by her husband, puts her hand in his and says: ‘I will not rest until you are pleased with me.’ This is how the Prophet Muhammad taught his women to be,” Al-Rahman said on the television in a segment aired in August, according to a translation provided by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).

“Islam instructs a man to beat his wife as a last resort before divorce, so that she will mend her ways, treat him with kindness and respect, and know that her husband has a higher status than her,” he said.

Obama's Dreams

After reading Barack Obama's book Dreams from My Father, it became painfully clear that he has not been searching for the truth, because he assumed from an early age that he had already found the truth – and now it was just a question of filling in the details and deciding how to change things.

Obama did not simply happen to encounter a lot of people on the far left fringe during his life. As he spells out in his book, he actively sought out such people. There is no hint of the slightest curiosity on his part about other visions of the world that might be weighed against the vision he had seized upon.

As Professor Richard Epstein of the University of Chicago Law School has pointed out, Obama made no effort to take part in the marketplace of ideas with other faculty members when he was teaching a law course there. What would be the point, if he already knew the truth and knew that they were wrong?

This would be a remarkable position to take, even for a learned scholar who had already spent decades canvassing a vast amount of information and views on many subjects. But Obama was already doctrinaire at a very early age – and ill-informed or misinformed on both history and economics.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. Ten undocumented immigrants were arrested Tuesday afternoon after sitting down in an uptown intersection and refusing police orders to disperse.

The activists are part of the “Undocubus,” a group of about 50 undocumented immigrants traveling from Phoenix to Charlotte to argue for immigration reform during the Democratic National Convention.

“We are demanding from the President to stop the deportations and separation of families,” said Gerardo Torres, of Chicago. He said he was not afraid of arrest, “Because I have the support of my community.”

WILL THE MILITARY SHOOT YOU DOWN LIKE DOGS?

There seems to be a notion among intellectuals that the U.S. Military would never conduct military operations against the citizens of the United States. I find that laughable, as the list below proves. American troops have been used against civilians since the inception of our country. Those in power will use everything at their disposal to retain that power, including using troops to slaughter Americans that choose to dissent. The persistent “training exercises” taking place in and around U.S. cities is not a coincidence. Those in power know our economic situation is tenuous and a collapse is on the horizon. I believe that National Guard and Federal troops will fire on Americans when ordered to do so. What do you think?

The Whiskey Rebellion, or Whiskey Insurrection, was a tax protest in the United States beginning in 1791, during the presidency of George Washington. Farmers who sold their grain in the form of whiskey had to pay a new tax which they strongly resented. The tax was a part of treasury secretary Alexander Hamilton‘s program to pay off the national debt. On the western frontier, protesters used violence and intimidation to prevent federal officials from collecting the tax. Resistance came to a climax in July 1794, when a U.S. marshal arrived in western Pennsylvania to serve writs to distillers who had not paid the excise. The alarm was raised, and more than 500 armed men attacked the fortified home of tax inspector General John Neville. Washington responded by sending peace commissioners to western Pennsylvania to negotiate with the rebels, while at the same time calling on governors to send a militia force to suppress the violence. With 15,000 militia provided by the governors of Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, Washington rode at the head of an army to suppress the insurgency. The rebels all went home before the arrival of the army, and there was no confrontation. About 20 men were arrested, but all were later acquitted or pardoned. The issue fueled support for the new opposition Democratic Republican Party, which repealed the tax when it came to power in Washington in 1801.

The New York City draft riots (July 13 to July 16, 1863; known at the time as Draft Week) were violent disturbances in New York City that were the culmination of working-class discontent with new laws passed by Congress that year to draft men to fight in the ongoing American Civil War. The riots were the largest civil insurrection in American history. President Abraham Lincoln diverted several regiments of militia and volunteer troops from following up after the Battle of Gettysburg to control the city. The rioters were overwhelmingly working-class men, primarily ethnic Irish, resenting particularly that wealthier men, who could afford to pay a $300 commutation fee to hire a substitute, were spared the draft. Initially intended to express anger at the draft, the protests turned into an ugly race riot, with the white rioters attacking blacks wherever they could be found. At least 100 black people were estimated to have been killed. The conditions in the city were such that Major General John E. Wool, commander of the Department of the East, stated on July 16, “Martial law ought to be proclaimed, but I have not a sufficient force to enforce it.” The military did not reach the city until after the first day of rioting, when mobs had already ransacked or destroyed numerous buildings, including public buildings and homes of abolitionist sympathizers, many black homes, and the Colored Orphan Asylum at 44th Street and Fifth Avenue, which was burned to the ground. The children were not harmed. The exact death toll during the New York Draft Riots is unknown, but according to historian James M. McPherson (2001), at least 120 civilians were killed. At least eleven black men were lynched.[20] Violence by longshoremen against black men was especially fierce in the docks area.

Recent Update From The Main Street Gym

Hello Everyone, I am sending out the results of our compitition last Saturday night held at Sugar Ray Leonards Gym. Please see if yu can get it in you news. I sent the artical as a PDF and a word Doc, otherwise there is just one article and one picture. Thank You, Coach Hal

Pictured from left to right: Kobe Moore, Corey Moore, Shawn Woodfood, Eric Acosta, Rudy Calixto, Adam Calixto, Coach Chernoff Ivan Calixto.

Sugar Ray Lenard’s Gym, Landover MD

Main St Gym Boxers jumped out a to strong start Saturday night, when the first three young boxers from Salisbury emerged from the ring with impressive wins and some nice hardware.

Little Eric Acosta , who attends Fruitland Intermediate School started things off in the third bout of the night in front of a packed house. In only his second fight 8 year old Eric was eager to get his first win and start some momentum for the team. Eric emerged as the winner.

“I am so proud of this young boy, he is a good kid, and he is serious about training it makes my job as Coach fun. It is very rewarding to watch the reaction of a little guy like Eric to 400 people clapping when his hand is raised in victory. I told him to get us started and we will keep it rolling and that’s what he did.” Said Coach Hal Chernoff of the Main St Gym.

The very next bout for Main Street was 11 year old Kobe Moore, of Wicomico Middle School, he outworked his opponent in a very close contest and brought the number of wins for Main St Gym to two “Kobe has been a member of Main St Gym for a few years, and I have seen him finally understand how hard work is tied to success in the ring. Kobe is now starting to have a degree of success now that he is stepping up in his training”. Said Coach Chernoff.

Going into the next bout of the evening was Ivan Calixto , a student of Delmar Middle School, he was told he had his work cut out for him. Coach Chernoff said “It’s very hard to get a win in any close bout when we are in DC which was Calixto’s opponent’s back yard. No one likes to have someone come in and take three wins in a row, so I told Ivan to turn it up right from the first bell, counterpunching every time his opponent throws and putting out a higher punch count than his opponent; if he throws 3 punches you counter with five.” Coach Chernoff said that “ Calixto usually tends to tighten up a bit and look for power with every punch. That has cost him a few wins in the past, but on Saturday night he wanted the win so bad he was determined to follow the game plan. When it worked and his hand was raised as the winner, Calixto was as happy that he was able to relax and follow the instructions as much as he was about the win. I look at this bout for Ivan as a breakthrough and am curious to see what happens at the next show” Chernoff said.

A couple bouts later Main St Gym’s fourth boxer Corey Moore, who attends Wicomico Senor High School, climbed through the ropes in hopes of keeping the winning run going, but even in a well fought bout he was edged out of the win. “Although he was disappointed he showed very good skills and the crowd appreciated Corey’s effort”. Coach Chernoff said.

Main Street’s final competitor of the night was 21 year old Shawn Woodford of Salisbury. Shawn came back to the gym after a 3 year layoff from the sport and appears to be serious and eager to improve and see how far he can go. Although he land a hard shot and was close to closing the door in the first round, his opponent battled back and used superior conditioning to out work and out point Woodford. “Everyone likes to win but this loss really lit a fire under Shawn, because he did see some success in the first round and knows that conditioning played a factor.” Chernoff said.

Next up for Main St Gym, professional cruiserweight Alexis Guerrero will face veteran, Harvey Jolly 12-18-1 in Atlanta Georgia on Sept 15th. At 6’4” Jolly brings not only 31 fights of experience , but is considered a big puncher and a very solid test for Guerrero.

FBI Agent's Laptop Hacked and Found To Contain Over 12 Million Apple User IDs

This is just lovely. So apparently several hacker activist groups got into FBI agent Christopher Stangl’s laptop and found:

A list of 12,367,232 Apple iOS devices including Unique Device Identifiers (UDID), user names, name of device, type of device, Apple Push Notification Service tokens, zipcodes, cellphone numbers, addresses, etc.

What makes this story even better is that Mr. Stangl was the guy who posted a video in 2009 imploring Computer Science majors to join the FBI. Makes sense. I guess you need a lot of people to keep tabs on the sheeple’s communications 24/7. Move along folks…nothing to see here. Your government loves you. Now go get on food stamps, watch some football and shut up.

Forbes covered this story and you can read the article here.

Ancient Dolphin Fossil Found on Maryland Shores

Millions of years ago, Washington D.C. was beachfront property along the Atlantic Ocean, and much of our region was underwater.

A fascinating fossil from that time was found earlier this year on a beach along the Calvert Cliffs in Maryland and is now at the Calvert Marine Museum. It's a skull, almost 3-feet-long, of an extinct dolphin with a long, thin snout.

The museum's curator of paleontology, Stephen Godfrey, says an amateur collector made the discovery in an area normally covered by water.

Should Salisbury Have An Obamanista As Its Mayor?

Leave it to the Daily Times to tout Jim Ireton constantly. A recent article boldly proclaims “Salisbury Mayor Ireton delegate at DNC in Charlotte” as if it were terribly important for us to know that he is there as an Obama delegate. Although most of the report focuses on the O'Malley circus at the DNC, it quotes Ireton praising both Obama and O'Malley – the two persons primarily responsible for the blight in Salisbury, with Ireton and Barrie Tilghman tied for third place. By the way, she was the last Salisbury mayor to attend a Democrat national convention.

Are you beginning to see what's wrong in Salisbury?

June Foodstamp Recipients Hit All Time High As Three Times As Many Americans Enter Poverty As Find Jobs

Following a brief period in which it seemed that US foodstamp recipients may have peaked, with those living in poverty maxing out at 46.514 million in December 2011, and then declining modestly for the next few months, June saw a new surge in those Americans living in poverty and thus eligible for foodstamps, with 173,600 new entrants into the system, bringing the total to a new all time high of 46.670 million and once again rising fast. Furthermore, with subsequent emergency events affecting the heartland due to the drought, the administration has made sure even more Americans will be eligible going forward. As a result expect the July and August numbers to promptly surpass 47 million on their way to the psychological resistance level of 50 million. Indicatively, the 173,600 increase in Foodstamps recipients in June was three times greater than Americans finding jobs (64,000, most of which part-time) according to the BLS. Finally, a new record was also breached for American households on foodstamps, which now hit 22.4 million, an increase of 106,298 households. The average benefit per household decline once more, this time to $276.5. Not an all time low, but just above it.

A Comment Worthy Of A Post 9-5-12

I do agree with what everyone is saying, but I mainly agree the money was stolen from the city employees. The heartless Mayor Ireton forced employees to take furloughs which cost them thousands of dollars and serious hardships. This money needs to go back to the employees. The Police department and the fire department aren't the only departments with needs. An election is coming up soon and giving money to the PD and not other departments will create a serious blow to Ireton's and Campbell's campaigns.

We're working on the details but we heard he passed on Monday and his funeral is some time tomorrow.

Survey Finds US Competitive Ranking Down Again

The United States' ability to compete on the global stage has fallen for the fourth year running as confidence in the country's politicians continues to decline, an annual survey from the World Economic Forum found Wednesday.

Even though the world's largest economy saw its overall competitiveness rise on the back of its status as a global innovation powerhouse, the Forum says the U.S.'s ranking has dropped two places to seventh this year. The Netherlands and Germany have moved ahead of the U.S. on the top 10 leaderboard.

The report found that some aspects of the U.S.'s political environment continue to raise concern among business leaders, "particularly the low public trust in politicians and a perceived lack of government efficiency."

Julian Castro: A Radical Revealed

Mayor Julian Castro of San Antonio, who will be giving the keynote address tonight, is, according to some, the next Obama. But while Obama’s radicalism may have escaped the notice of the DNC in 2004, Castro’s views are bit more transparent.

Indeed, he, along with his twin, Joaquin, currently running for Congress, learned their politics on their mother’s knee and in the streets of San Antonio. Their mother, Rosie helped found a radical, anti-white, socialist Chicano party called La Raza Unida (literally “The Race United”) that sought to create a separate country—Aztlan—in the Southwest.

Today she helps manage her sons’ political careers, after a storied career of her own as a community activist and a stint as San Antonio Housing Authority ombudsman.

Man Banned From Becoming Police Officer Because He Is Too Smart

If you are smart do not apply for a law enforcement job, your bid will be rejected.

A man whose bid to become a police officer was rejected after he scored too high on an intelligence test has lost an appeal in his federal lawsuit against the city who rejected his application.

The second U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York upheld the lower court decision that the city did not discriminate against Robert Jordan because the same rules apply to everyone who took the test. New York does not higher police officers that are too smart, as they claim that the very smart do not hold on to their police jobs.

How Republicans Went Crazy, Democrats Became Useless And The Middle Class Got Shafted

After a tremendous response to his commentary on Truthout, Mike Lofgren has released a new book, "The Party Is Over." In it he explores what he calls the "company town" of Washington DC, where "the company's products are politics and military hardware." Receive a copy from Truthout with a minimum donation of $35 - or a monthly donation of $15.

Bill talks with Mike Lofgren, a long-time Republican who describes the modern dysfunction of both the Republican and Democratic parties. In Lofgren's view, Republicans have become overly obsessed with obstructing President Obama, and the Democrats suffer from political complacency. Lofgren's new book is The Party is Over: How Republicans Went Crazy, Democrats Became Useless, and the Middle Class Got Shafted.

Transcript

Bill Moyers: The growing power of the religious right is one reason my guest left the Republican Party and became an Independent. "The mixture of politics and religion," he says, "debases both, and has turned the GOP into an apocalyptic sect." He has his problems with Democrats, too. For one thing, he says, both parties "are captives to corporate loot."

Others may share those opinions, but what gives Mike Lofgren more clout than the rest is decades of insider experience on Capitol Hill. He was a Fulbright scholar with two degrees in history when he went to work in Congress and became a senior staff member of the House and Senate Budget committees. His specialty was the cost of national security. After 28 years of government service, Mike Lofgren retired and sat down to write a powerful manifesto that took off like a rocket when it was posted on the website Truthout.org.

It's now a book: "The Party is Over: How Republicans Went Crazy, Democrats Became Useless, and the Middle Class Got Shafted." As you can tell from the title, he spares no one.

According to police, Gladden brought an antique shotgun to Perry Hall High School last Monday on the first day of classes and fired two shots. One classmate, 17-year-old Daniel Borowy, was critically wounded.

Hacked Intel Email: NYPD Involved In "Damn Right Felonious Activity"

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) really has gone rogue; at least that's what a high-level FBI official believes.

Among the 5 million emails the group Anonymous hacked from the servers of private intelligence firm Stratfor in February, one seems to not only confirm the controversial NYPD surveillance activities uncovered by the Associated Press, but hints at even worse civil liberties violations not yet disclosed. Anonymous later turned the emails over to WikiLeaks, with which Truthout has entered into an investigative partnership.

I keep telling you, you and I are going to laugh and raise a beer one day, when everything Intel (NYPD's Intelligence Division) has been involved in during the last 10 years comes out - it always eventually comes out. They are going to make Hoover, COINTEL, Red Squads, etc look like rank amatures [sic] compared to some of the damn right felonious activity, and violations of US citizen's rights they have been engaged in.

Major Setback In Afghanistan

There's been a major setback in the United States' exit strategy in Afghanistan.

Following a series of what are known as "green on blue" attacks, where trained Afghan soldiers are turning their guns on coalition forces – the United States has suspended the training of new Afghan security forces. In the last month, 45 Western soldiers – mostly American soldiers – have been killed in green on blue attacks. Top US military commanders have put the breaks on training new Afghan recruits until the vetting process for those recruits is reexamined. A key pillar in the U.S. exit strategy is training a large enough Afghan security force to take over once the United States leaves. But with green on blue attacks on the rise all over Afghanistan – it loos like it's getting harder and harder to officially end America's longest war.

Is The FBI Spying On You?

If you use an Apple product – the FBI could be spying on you. Hacktivists working within the group "Anonymous" are claiming they've caught the FBI spying on more than 12 million Apple customers. On Monday night, the hacktivists released FBI files that contained over 12 million Apple UDID's – which are specific numbers exclusively assigned to apple products like Iphones and Ipads. Along with the UDIDs, Anonymous is saying the FBI database also included user names, cell phone numbers, and addresses. The FBI has yet to comment on the story. In a statement on the discovery, Anonymous said, "For the last few years we have broke [sic] into systems belonging to Governments and Big corporations just to find out they are spending millions of tax dollars to spy on their citizens. They work to discredit dissenting voices." It's true, we are being spied on. The emerging surveillance state is a consequence of corporations taking over our government. One major difference between democratic rule and corporate rule – there is no transparency or individual privacy when corporations are in control.

MAYOR JIM IRETON MUST GO

Remember last Monday night when Jim Ireton REFUSED to answer Debbie Campbell's question on how much money was left over in surplus? Well, tonight, even Shanie Shields stated that IF the Mayor had given up the numbers, NONE of the arguing and debate had to take place.

OK, are you sitting. No, seriously, I mean it. THERE IS MORE THAN $2,000,000.00 RETURNED TO SURPLUS!

This is a Mayor who wanted a tax increase! This is a Mayor who absolutely 100% KNEW there was this kind of money in surplus and refused to tell the Council last Monday night.

His childish behavior and actions were completely out of line! The money was there. The money has always been there. Public safety was never an important topic for this Mayor and obviously never will be.

While the Daily Times attacked the City Council, they, (once again) had it completely wrong. I have always supported the Salisbury Police Department and have been stating from the day I announced my intention to run for Mayor that our funding will go to the Salisbury Police Department.

The City Council will bring a $650,000.00 increase over the next year to increase the salaries Gary Comegys and Louise Smith reneged on a few years ago. These men and women will finally get what they deserve. There was additional funding available to also increase the dispatchers salaries as well.

The original proposal/request by Chief Duncan was $400,000.00. Once the Council learned what kind of surplus they had they immediately chose to do what was right and increased it to $650,000.00, prorated down for the remainder of the year.

Let's hope morale turns around immediately. It's a great day for Salisbury. Councilwoman Laura Mitchell and Mayor Jim Ireton were not present tonight. Instead they are at the Democrat National Convention with Obama.

Analyst: O'Malley's DNC Speech Better Than 2004

Gov. Martin O'Malley only had a few minutes to get his points across at the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday night, but he did so with vigor, and one analyst told 11 News that he definitely redeemed himself from his convention speech in 2004.

O'Malley walked onto the stage to a cheering crowd at the convention in Charlotte. A major theme of his speech was about moving America forward, not backward. He said America needs to re-elect President Barack Obama for another term to do so.

"Maryland always chooses to move forward. We understand that progress is a choice. Job creation is a choice. Whether we move forward or back, this too is a choice, and that is what this election is all about," O'Malley told the crowd.

The Democratic National Convention

The Democratic National Convention kicks off this week in Charlotte, North Carolina. And already, we're seeing pretty stark differences between this week's DNC and last week's RNC. One week after Republicans unveiled the most radical major party platform in American modern history – Democrats have put forward their own political platform. Some of the planks include: a full embrace of marriage equality and woman's right to choose, comprehensive immigration reform, the right for unions to collectively bargain, support for Obamacare, protection of Medicare, as we know it, increased funding for the arts, and cutting off tax breaks for job outsourcers like Bain Capital. While there are too few differences between Republican and Democrats when it comes to the big issues facing the nation like war, free trade, and the corporate takeover of our democracy, there are still huge differences between the two parties as reflected in each platform. While Democrats want to keep moving the nation forward – extending civil rights and economic opportunity to more and more Americans – Republicans want to drag us all backward to the era of the Robber Barons.

Delaware's Toll Plaza's Served Over A Million Labor Day Travelers

Dover -- Labor Day travelers that passed through Delaware's three main toll plaza locations on State Route 1 or Interstate 95 were part of the traditional "end-of-summer" crowds seeking one last vacation experience for 2012. The highway speed E-ZPass lanes and cash lanes at Delaware toll facilities process hundreds of thousands of vehicle trips during peak travel periods.

This past weekend was no different with over 452,000 vehicle trips counted at the I-95 Newark Plaza and 556,000 vehicle trips counted at the Dover and Biddle's Corner locations on Route 1. It is estimated that over $2.73 million was collected in tolls during the 5-day period at Delaware toll plazas.

This year's vehicle counts increased by more than 36,000 trips over last year's totals. 2011 counts were 972,054 and 2012 counts were 1,008,205 total trips. Additionally, E-ZPass usage was over 60% across all plazas.

The Future Of Work In America

Technology and the Web are destroying far more jobs than they create. We will need to develop a "Third Way" based on community rather than the Market or the State to adapt to this reality.

What better day to ponder the future of work than Labor Day? Long-time correspondent Robert Z. recently shared an essay on just this topic entitledUnderstanding the 'New' Economy.

The underlying political and financial assumption of the Status Quo is that technology will ultimately create more jobs than it destroys. Bob's insightful essay disputes that assumption:

Change Maryland On O'Malley's Criticism Of Gov. John Kasich

Ohio Creates 3 Times More Jobs Than Maryland Under Kasich

Annapolis
- Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley continued his series of attacks of other elected officials yesterday, saying Ohioans should have "buyers remorse" in electing Ohio Governor John Kasich in 2010. The records between the two Governors could not be more stark - Ohio has produced three times the jobs Maryland has since Kasich took office. In state rankings, the cost of doing business in Maryland is mired in the 40's whereas Ohio is now sixth in the nation.

"Martin O'Malley's serial attacks on Governors with better records than his, continues the pattern of deception that we're all too familiar with here at home," said Change Maryland Chairman Larry Hogan. "John Kasich has done a tremendous job turning Ohio's economy around in a very short period of time. We can't say the same thing for Martin O'Malley who has been in office four years longer and who rightfully admitted that we're not better off before backtracking on his comments."

Under Governor Martin O'Malley's tenure since 2007, taxes and fees have been raised 24 times, removing an additional $2.4 billion from the economy annually. The results speak for themselves where Maryland leads the region in lost jobs, businesses and taxpayers.

"Martin O'Malley is managing the decline of Maryland; John Kasich is restoring Ohio's economic performance," said Hogan.

Background:

"(O'Malley) used his speech to the Ohio delegation Monday to link Romney and Kasich, blast them and praise former Gov. Ted Strickland, who may be running for the job again in two years."

“If there’s one place to find buyer’s remorse, it’s Ohio,” O’Malley said.

Michelle Obama Hails Husband As ‘Man We Can Trust’

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — First lady Michelle Obama pleaded with voters Tuesday to reward her husband with re-election, telling delegates at the Democrats’ convention that President Obama comes from humble beginnings but was able to reach the White House by taking advantage of the same kind of social safety net he defends on the campaign trail.

Democrats convened their nominating convention with a mix of sharp barbs against Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney and his personal wealth, and a defense of Mr. Obama’s first-term record on everything from health care to gay rights.

Seeking to unify Democrats and win over independents with the inspirational story that powered Mr. Obama to an historic election in 2008, Mrs. Obama told delegates her husband is still pushing for the vision voters embraced four years ago.

CBS Scot Paulsen On "2016" Movie

A great feedback review of the 2016 Movie

This kind of feedback coming from anyone associated with CBS is absolutely astounding (maybe he no longer has a job). I'm reading that this documentary is astounding the pundits in its attendance figures and I've read a couple reviews already that like the one below says the audience sits mesmerized at the conclusion thinking about what they have just witnessed (along with the ovations).

The Right Politics
This past week, “2016: The Movie” about President Barack Obama opened in the Chicago area, and I chose to get more of an education about Obama by seeing the movie. After the inundation of canned hype for the movie on conservative talk shows across the Chicago radio dial that sounded more like commercials than honest endorsements of the movie, I was skeptical of what I was going to see.

While some talk show hosts sounded like they were genuinely impressed with the documentary and honestly endorsing the film, there were those who were obviously reading a commercial script which was not coming across as sincere to the regular listener – at least not to this often-skeptical listener. Perhaps, in future promotions of the film, it would be wise to have pre-recorded commercials done by the professional commercial-makers rather than having the likes of Mark Levin and Sean Hannity doing script after script to promote the movie. After all, the listeners aren’t stupid and resent any attempt at being conned. After many reads by the talk show hosts, the readings of the commercial script were no more enthusiastic than another Life-Lock commercial read – another commercial that ought to be professionally done.

Yet, I’m glad I saw the hyped-film because it was more informative than I had thought it would be and included less propaganda than I had predicted. If anything, it was nearly too informative as there was an enormous amount of information condensed into the nearly one-hour-and-a-half documentary. Fact after fact is put forth which shows that President Obama definitely has many skeletons in the closet that have not been released prior to the nation’s trust in him with the Oval Office.

To watch this movie and realize – or simply be reminded of – all that is unknown about President Obama is of concern. Much of the information has been ignored by the American media totally. When appropriately reminded as to what is still unknown about Obama to date, one has to ask: How can any logical-thinking person give a damn about Romney’s taxes while not asking any questions regarding our current president’s past?

The man influences the entire globe, but liberal Americans want to know how much Mitt Romney paid in taxes in the past rather than learn about the man who they have entrusted with the country. Unbelievable.

The movie undeniably links Obama to persons of suspicious-interest due to their past actions and statements, such as former radical activist and Chicago educator Bill Ayers. While the media and blinded-liberals cast such facts aside, the movie does not. No, this portion of the movie is not propaganda – it is the display of factual information about relationships between people that cannot be denied. Yet, the “left” does deny the facts that are right in front of them.

Quite disturbing is the talk of the United States economy in the film. The current national debt which has increased two-fold during Obama’s presidency and the horrendous economy is suggested to be part of the plan to strip the nation of democracy – reasonable cause to make citizens totally dependent on the government. The “left” is aghast at this suggestion of the current economy. They actually believe that Obama is unintelligent enough to let this economy just happen. Ironically, it’s many of the people on the “right” who know Obama’s not stupid, and much of what has happened to the United States in the past four years is part of Obama’s plan.

How could one so-highly educated and intelligent as Obama not know what he was doing when he incurred such debt? I left the movie thinking more strongly than I had in the past that the current debt and this economy was part of Obama’s plan all along. Increasingly making Americans dependent on the government is the plan. What’s more, he knew his blind followers would believe it was not the plan and, of course, was all Bush’s fault.

He must be laughing at his blind followers all the way to the “new America” they’re allowing him to create. My belief is that Obama continues to prey on his die-hard followers’ stupidity to accomplish his personal goals for America.

The most disturbing part of the film to me was the interview with President Obama’s half-brother George Obama from Nairobi, Kenya. How can Obama claim to want to help people when he has done absolutely nothing for his own family? It makes me wonder if he really cares about anybody if he can’t find it in his heart to help his own family.

As the closing credits started to role upward across the screen, the audience applauded. Me, I just walked out – reasonably upset.

Those who have already decided to vote for Obama will probably not even see the movie. It’s sad but they probably don’t want to know the truth when it is laid out so clearly for them in this documentary. The independents who are still deciding who they are going to vote for ought to see this film. I’m quite confident that any undecided voter who sees this film will know who to vote for after viewing this documentary. If you know you’re not going to support the “left” in this coming election, see the film out of interest if you like. But, fair warning, it’s disturbing – and quite frightening – to say the least.

Surveillance Video Shows Md. Officer Striking Man

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) - Surveillance video from a store in Maryland appears to show a Prince George's County police officer striking a man with a gun which then fires.

The recording is from the store in Brentwood. The video appears to show Cpl. Donald Taylor approaching 19-year-old Ryan Dorm from behind and striking Dorm with his gun. A flash on impact appears to be the gun firing. Police have said that Taylor lied about what happened during the Feb. 3 incident, claiming Dorm reached for his weapon.
