"That's Ridiculous": Jill Biden - Not Joe, Appears On Live TV To Defend VP's Cognitive Ability

Remember when the New York Times published an anonymous Op-Ed claiming that White House cabinet members were 'whispering' about removing President Trump by invoking the 25th amendment to claim that he's mentally unfit to hold office? Trump immediately hit back, slamming the 'failing' Times and their 'gutless' anonymous source.

Joe Biden, meanwhile, can barely form sentences and recently snapped at a reporter for asking if he'd taken a cognitive test. It's gotten so bad that the Trump campaign made the following ad:

'Disavowed' BLM Leader Defends Looting & Rioting Because "US Steals Diamonds & Oil"

"So when America goes and steals diamonds and oils, who's calling us terrorists? When the American government goes and pillages different countries, who's calling us terrorists?," exclaimed Hawk Newsome, the head of the New York branch of BLM, refusing to condemn looting as an ethically questionable activity during a very testy interview with on Fox News Channel's Martha MacCallum.

It is not the first time Newsome has sparked controversy. In June, Newsome made incendiary remarks during a cable news that:

“If this country doesn’t give us what we want, then we will burn down this system and replace it.”

Which was condemned by President Trump as " Treason, Sedition, Insurrection!"

And resulted in The Black Lives Matter Global Network distancing itself from the NYC 'Organizer':

“Hawk Newsome has no relation to the Black Lives Matter Global Network,” the network’s managing director Kailee Scales told the Associated Press.

Newsome began the interview with MacCallum by firing back at former New York City Mayor Rudy Guiliani, who had criticized Black Lives Matter as a “domestic terrorist organization,” but quickly went off the rails when MacCallum played a clip of Chicago BLM organizer Ariel Atkins condoning looting as “reparations.”

“I don’t care if somebody decides to loot a Gucci or a Macy’s or a Nike because that makes sure that that person eats,” Atkins said last week.

“That makes sure that that person has clothes. That’s reparations. That is reparations.”

GOP Mocks Bill Clinton For Lecturing Trump on Oval Office Conduct: Irony ‘Should Not Be Lost on Anyone’

Former President Bill Clinton, whose presidency was engulfed by an extramarital affair with former White House intern Monica Lewinsky, lectured President Trump for bringing “chaos” into the Oval Office during his Tuesday evening address at the Democratic National Convention, drawing a swift reaction from members of the GOP, who could not help but note the irony.

Clinton kicked off his address by criticizing Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic, assessing that the Wuhan virus “hit us much harder than it had to” before slamming the president’s Oval Office conduct.

“At a time like this, the Oval Office should be a command center. Instead, it’s a storm center,” Clinton said. “There’s only chaos.”

“Just one thing never changes: his determination to deny responsibility and shift the blame. The buck never stops there. Now, you have to decide whether to renew his contract or hire someone else,” he continued.

“If you want a president who defies the job, is spending hours a day watching TV and zapping people on social media, he’s your man. Denying, distracting, and demeaning works great if you’re trying to entertain or inflame,” the former president added. “But in a real crisis, it collapses like a house of cards.”

Many Republicans could not help but note the irony of Clinton criticizing Trump over proper Oval Office conduct, given his past:

Linda Sarsour at DNC: Democrats Are ‘Absolutely Our Party’

The Democratic National Convention featured former Women’s March leader Linda Sarsour in one of its caucus meetings for the Muslim Delegates and Allies Assembly.

“The Democratic Party is not perfect, but it is absolutely our party in this moment,” Sarsour said in part of her afternoon speech on Tuesday.

The party’s willingness to give Sarsour a platform is notable because of her history of alleged antisemitic comments that got her booted from the Women’s March in January and her support for the Boycott, Divest, and Sanction (BDS) movement against Israel.

Sarsour has also embraced some of the more radical left-wing members of the Democrat Party, including Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), whom she endorsed for president back in September 2019.

“I would be so proud to win, but also to make history and elect the first Jewish American president this country has ever seen and for his name to be Bernard Sanders,” Sarsour said in September 2019.

Sarsour has also been willing to do whatever it takes to get President Donald Trump out of office.

Sarsour once called for jihad against Trump, claiming that it was not a call for violence against the president. Despite her claim, she urged Muslims to declare that opposing Trump is a religious duty under Islam’s jihad doctrine.

Palm Beach County Confirms Video Showing Ballot Envelopes Displaying Party Affiliation

The Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections confirmed that the ballot return envelopes in a viral video that appear to identify party affiliation of the voter are valid. Although, it claims different envelopes — which do not identify the party of the voter — are used in the general election.

A video posted by a woman named Tina Brown went viral this week, featuring Brown examining two ballot return envelopes — one which belonged to her Democrat brother and the other which belonged to her, a Republican. The envelopes, she observed, actually revealed their party affiliations. A “D” appeared within a series of numbers near the bar code of her brother’s return envelope, and an “R” appeared in the series of numbers on hers.

Democrat Party Platform: Ban Online Ammo Sales, License All Gun Owners

The 2020 Democrat Party platform is rife with gun controls that include an all-out ban on online ammunition sales and a push to require every state in the Union to license gun owners.

The 2020 platform also continues a pledge to secure universal background checks, which have existed in California since the 1990s and are currently in place in New York, New Jersey, and other states rife with gun violence.

Gabby Giffords’s gun control law center reports 13 states in total have such checks.

The Democrat’s platform also pledges a ban on online gun sales and efforts to prohibit “some individuals convicted of assault or battery to buy and possess firearms.” Additionally, Democrats will “ban the manufacture and sale of assault weapons and high capacity magazines” and “pass legislation requiring that guns be safely stored in homes.”

Joe Biden Says ‘Hundreds and Hundreds’ of ‘Dreamers’ Kept Economy Going During Coronavirus

Joe Biden credited Latinos and so-called “Dreamers” with keeping the U.S. economy going during the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking to Latino Victory on Tuesday, Biden attacked President Donald Trump for waging war on “rapist Mexicans” from the time he came down the “elevator” at Trump Tower to announce his candidacy.

Seemingly reading a teleprompter or notes near the camera, Biden rattled off the “crises” he believes are afflicting the country.

“As a nation, we’re facing multiple crises at once. A public health crisis, an economic crisis, a racial crisis, and a climate crisis. We need leadership that takes them all three, all four of those things seriously,” he said, quickly correcting himself.

Moments later, Biden seemed to be hung up on the number of Latino children in schools.

“One-quarter of our schoolchildren — one-quarter are Latinos — speak Spanish. One-quarter! How in God’s name can we have a strong, thriving Republic if we don’t fully deal in Latinos in every aspect of American life?” he said, before adding, “One quarter!”

Biden quickly corrected himself when he misstated when his ancestors emigrated to America, first saying 1830, then 1849.

Richmond Approves ‘Black Lives Matter’ Mural Near Virginia State Capitol

Officials in Richmond, Virginia, have approved a proposal for a 200-foot mural bearing the phrase “Black Lives Matter” to be painted near the state’s capitol building.

The Richmond Planning Commission approved the proposal by a unanimous vote on Monday, WSLS reported.

The mural is set to be painted in large, yellow letters along a street downtown leading to the entrance of Virginia’s state capitol square.

It is a privately-funded project led by two local artists known for other murals in the city, and its location was proposed by Venture Richmond, a nonprofit led by community and business leaders.

Venture Richmond Deputy Executive Director Anedra Bourne said the location is significant because of its distance to City Hall and the state capitol.

Democrats are against Trump — but what are they for?

Watching the long slog of the second night of the Democrats’ convention, a famous Winston Churchill line came to mind: “Take this pudding away — it has no theme!”

Old and young, progressive and super progressive, left and far left, black, white, Asian, Latino, Native American — they all had something to say. But if there was a theme running through the night, I couldn’t find it.

Oh, yes, Donald Trump bad, got that. Really, really bad. OK, got that, too.

Then what? What do Democrats stand for and, more to the point, what are they promising voters if they gain the White House? I honestly don’t know.

I do know that, once again, they failed to address the violence erupting across the country, as if it isn’t happening. Or maybe they are afraid to criticize it because it will somehow come off as pro-police, which would infuriate the Black Lives Matter movement the party is embracing.

For whatever reason, Dems are ceding a huge issue to Trump, one that resonates across income, race and geographic boundaries. Public safety is a civil right and it matters to everyone.

Rand Paul claims USPS is not 'redeemable,' cannot be fixed 'until you fix their labor problem'

'Without a mandate to make it a smaller organization, you shouldn't give them any money'

Any lawmaker who endorses legislation that provides more money to the U.S. Postal Service "might as well just put it into a big pile on your front lawn and burn it," Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., told “Your World" Wednesday.

“There's no way to give any money to the post office to make the post office redeemable," Paul told host Neil Cavuto. "You cannot fix the post office unless you fix their labor problem.”

According to Paul, 80% of the USPS' expenses come from labor.

"About 50% percent of UPS' costs are labor and FedEx's [costs] is about 38%," he added. "You can't run a business with 80% of your costs being labor ... in the end, just giving money to the post office is giving money to an operation that lost $8 billion last year, so giving them $10 billion [means] it'll be gone within a year's time.

San Francisco's Cops Aren't Waiting Around To Be "Defunded": They're Leaving En Masse

Police in San Francisco aren't waiting around for pandering politicians to "defund" the city's police department, which has already seen a mass exodus of officers following the passage of a state law called Prop 47, a statewide criminal-justice law passed back in 2014. It appears the pace of officer exits is picking up this year, and what's even more interesting: The acceleration started before the murder of George Floyd.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, 23 officers resigned during the first six months of the year, with many resigning evenbefore Floyd's murder. Most expect that another wave of resignations spurred by the protests and widespread anti-police sentiment in the deep blue state will spur even more officers to leave.

Of those, 19 took jobs at other law enforcement agencies, in and outside the state. By comparison, 26 officers resigned in 2019, and only 12 officers resigned in 2018.

One critic of City Hall's law enforcement policies blamed a "social experiment" whereby police were commanded to refuse to enforce all low-level crime for the city's problems.

"The members are upset that the social experiment being conducted in San Francisco is failing, and they would rather work someplace that values them," said Montoya, a constant critic of City Hall’s calls for police reform, which after the killing of George Floyd by police in Minneapolis has taken the form of shifting money from the police budget to social causes.

And this is only the beginning, according to the critic quoted above. At this pace, the number of officers leaving in 2020 could double the number from 2019, and nearly 4x the pace from 2018.

"This is just the beginning. Dozens are actively in the hiring process with other agencies," said Tony Montoya, president of the Police Officers Association.

[...]

"Members have gone to places like the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, Pleasant Hill, Beverly Hills, Petaluma, Palm Springs, Placerville, Long Beach, Idaho, Texas, Arizona," Montoya said.

Iowa State University professor is forced to change her syllabus after she told her English students they would be dismissed from class if they submitted any work criticizing BLM, abortion or gay marriage

An Iowa State University professor who told her students they were forbidden from submitting work criticizing Black Lives Matter, gay marriage or abortion was forced to correct her syllabus this week to better protect free speech rights on campus.

English Professor Chloe Clark informed her students they could not ‘choose any topic that takes at its base that one side doesn’t deserve the same basic human rights as you do’, College Fix reported.

Labeled a ‘GIANT WARNING’ in a portion of the syllabus banning ‘instances of othering’, Clark alerted members of her English 250 class that they could offer ‘no arguments against gay marriage, abortion, Black Lives Matter etc,’ adding that she ‘takes this seriously.’

‘[A]ny instances of othering that you participate in intentionally (racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, sorophobia, transphobia, classism, mocking of mental health issues, body shaming, etc) in class are grounds for dismissal from the classroom,’ the professor wrote.

More than 1 in 5 College students won't be enrolling in College this fall

Most believe they’ll be exposed to COVID-19 on campus. Notre Dame and North Carolina universities already canceled in-person classes over outbreaks.

Many students are taking a pandemic gap year.

More than one in five college undergraduates don’t plan to enroll this fall, according to a new College Reaction/Axios poll of about 800 students taken Aug. 16-17. And 85% of those surveyed believe they are likely or very likely to be exposed to the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19 if they are on campus.

That’s not too surprising, as coronavirus outbreaks have been reported across several universities that just recently reopened. Four colleges and universities suspended in-person classes already this week, including Notre Dame and the University of North Carolina, after reporting clusters of dozens of students and faculty testing positive for COVID-19.

College to use tracking app that notifies if students leave 'COVID Bubble'

Violators may be temporarily suspended

Michigan's Albion College is requiring that students download a phone application that tracks at all times their physical locations as well as their private health data in order to battle the spread of the coronavirus, the Washington Free Beacon reported.

Albion — a private college — is aiming to create a "COVID-bubble" on campus for the entire semester, the Free Beacon said. And if a student breaks the 4.5-mile perimeter, the app notifies the administration, and the student could be temporarily suspended, the paper added.

But as you might imagine, this plan has students and parents complaining about privacy invasion.

"The school wants my daughter to sign a form consenting to specimen collection and lab testing," one father told the Free Beacon on the condition of anonymity. "I have a ton of concern with that. ... Why is the state of Michigan's contact tracing not enough?"

The paper added that while students are required to remain on campus, professors and administrators are not. And Albion — when asked about this disparity and potential "COVID-bubble" loophole — declined to comment, the Free Beacon said.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WBFF) - Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan issued a proclamation today allowing the Board of Elections to move forward with its plan for the November presidential election.
