March For Trump update

Our spokesperson, Carol Frazier, will be be on WGMD radio (92.7, the Jake Smith Show) at 9:35 AM Monday October 6, 2019 promoting our tentative participation in the Trump rally in DC. (Tentative because we need enough riders to make it cost effective and practical to rent a bus.)
Folks, your vote, your voice, your religious freedom is in jeopardy . . . stand up for what you believe in. You have the opportunity to influence public opinion by showing your support for our President, you have the opportunity to show this president - - who has been under attack from day one - - that we stand with him.
And we will have fun doing it! A luxury bus, breakfast snacks, a movie on the way home, and a social either on the road or when we arrive home (TBA), depending on the time.

We are anticipating a cost of $20 per person.

WE MUST KNOW if we will have enough people by Thursday October the 10th, so that the bus company has time to reserve parking in the designated area. Please send email to

( ) or message us on our facebook page to confirm your participation, reserve a seat, or ask a question.

The rally starts at 10, so we're probably looking at a 6 AM start, we'll let the bus company make that call. We'll aim to be home by four'ish.

Marshall Gabell Thinks Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan Should Step Down

Ocean City, MD—Senator Mary Beth Carozza (District 38) vowed to work with Ocean City officials, law enforcement, her colleagues in the legislature, and the Hogan Administration to take action in response to the havoc and destruction caused by H2Oi participants in Ocean City Maryland over the weekend.

“I join with Mayor Meehan and all our community stakeholders, partners in law enforcement, in the legislature, and Governor Hogan’s Administration in working together to take the necessary actions to protect our home community,” Senator Mary Beth Carozza said. “We will do whatever it takes to protect the residents and visitors of Ocean City. All options are on the table for future action.”

During the 2019 legislative session at the request of the Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan and Police Chief Ross Buzzuro, Senator Carozza introduced legislation (Senate Bill 682) to increase the penalties for traffic violations in Special Events Zones in Worcester County for negligent driving, driving or participating in a race or speed contest, and other reckless driving. Delegate Wayne Hartman (District 38C) introduced a companion Special Event Zones bill in the House of Delegates.

The original Special Event Zone legislation, introduced by then Delegate Carozza and passed in 2018, established a Special Event Zone during motor vehicle events in Ocean City and allowed for increased fines for speeding to begin to increase public safety. However, the 2018 bill did not include increased penalties for other violations like reckless and negligent driving in a Special Event Zone. In 2018, 2,222 total citations were issued for violations in Special Event Zones, almost a third of those citations were for violations not covered in the current Special Event Zone law. Senate Bill 682 would have covered these additional violations.

The 2019 bill would have increased the penalty for traffic violations in a Special Event Zone to a $1,000 fine if convicted of negligent driving; driving or participating in a race or speed contest; or skidding, spinning of wheels, or causing excessive noise.

“The increased reckless, destructive, and illegal activity over the past H2Oi weekend demonstrated that the Maryland General Assembly should have passed our 2019 special events increased penalties bill. I will continue to work with Mayor Meehan, Police Chief Buzzuro, the Hogan Administration, and my colleagues to take all necessary actions, including legislation, to protect our home community.”

Marshall Gabell Responds to Rick Meehan Blog Post

Mr. Joe Albero,

I absolutely appreciate you taking the time to post my views on SBYNEWS.

However, I find the blog to be a little discredited due to the "Anonymous" comments simply slandering and spamming the post. It is evident that a lot of the comments are just one person commenting, acting as multiple.

In fact, only two comments aren't anonymous ... one including myself.

If I could offer a suggestion, it would be to mandate someone to post their names along with their comments. It simply looks like obsessive slander otherwise, especially since the time is posted, too.

Again, I appreciate you posting. I will be sure to include you in any future press releases from my team and I.

Best regards,
Marshall Gabell

H2O Bonus Round......

A Viewer Writes...........Fruitland Ditches

Hey this is a long shot but worth a shot. theses pictures are from our ditches at the end of school street in Fruitland. They begin from the highway meandering behind several properties beside the intermediate School and eventually to the river. Every ditch is filled with small trees and overgrow. We live at the dead end side of Fruitland and almost every rain storm floods our yards, our sheds. The water rushes from the deep highway ditches into the very small ditches in the yards and immediately begins to over flow. Sometimes the water get almost two feet deep in the yards past the dead end.

We have met with Fruitland officials who say that the ditch is not their responsibility. We have called Wicomico County and they say it's Fruitlands responsibility. We have even called the state and they say their responsibility stops at the highway. Nobody around can remember the last time the ditches have been dug out or cleaned. Every official wants to pass the buck, but as a Fruitland resident we pay city taxes, county taxes, and of course the state finds ways to tax us, yet we get nothing in return.

Eventually after every storm the water receded, the residents at the dead end pick up all the highway trash that has flowed into our yard, check our sheds to see what was ruined this time, and hope someone will show up eventually to fix this.

Please Salisbury New post this or help us find the proper channel. In the past you have posted fallen bridge concrete, potholes and other problems cities don't care about, and as soon as comment roll in suddenly they are there to help.

Some of the pictures are hard to see but that is the ditch

Young Assateague Horse Killed By Park Vehicle

ASSATEAGUE — A wild horse on Assateague was struck and killed by a park vehicle early Sunday morning, serving as a grim reminder to motorists to obey speed limits and use caution around the island’s famed residents.

In the predawn hours before first light on Sunday, the chestnut mare N2BHS-ALQ, or Connie’s Girl, was standing in the road on a curve on Bayberry Drive when it was struck by a park vehicle. The park vehicle struck the horse in the hind quarter and the animal did not survive the collision. The park employee was uninjured and the incident is under investigation.

Connie’s Girl was born in April 2018 to Ms. Macky with the likely sire being Yankee. The band frequented the developed area and campgrounds at the Assateague Island National Seashore and Assateague State Park. Connie’s Girl in the 34th wild horse to be hit by a vehicle and killed on the island since 1982. Another 17 horses have been struck and injured.

“As always, the loss of one of our horses saddens park staff,” Assateague Island National Seashore officials said in a statement. “The National Park Service reminds everyone to be alert when driving on Assateague Island, especially at night.”

The 12-year-old girl who accused 3 white boys at her school of cutting her dreadlocks now says she made it up

A 12-year-old Virginia girl who accused three white boys of cutting her dreadlocks now says her story was false.

Amari Allen said last week that she was cornered on the playground, where one boy covered her mouth, another grabbed her arms, and a third cut off sections of her hair. She said they called her hair "nappy" and told her she was "ugly," NBC Washington reported at the time.

But on Monday, her family and the school, Immanuel Christian School in Springfield — where Karen Pence, the wife of Vice President Mike Pence, works part time as an art teacher — released statements saying that Allen's story was false.

JUST IN: Bernie Sanders, 78, hospitalized: Canceling all events until 'further notice'

Democratic presidential primary contender Bernie Sanders is off the campaign trail for a few days after he had emergency surgery Tuesday to repair a blocked artery, his campaign announced.

The campaign said Wednesday that doctors have "successfully inserted" two stents, and the candidate is now "conversing and in good spirits," but will be taking a few days to rest.

"We are canceling his events and appearances until further notice, and we will continue to provide appropriate updates," Sanders' campaign said in a statement.

OC taxi business dying in face of Uber, Lyft

The traditional taxi industry in Ocean City is in trouble, as the days when people called or waved down a cab are fading into the shadows of higher-tech ride share services.

Now, people swipe into their smartphones and click on the Uber or Lyft app from their couches, derailing a once prosperous industry and leaving it struggling to survive.

“There won’t be taxis in Ocean City in five years at this rate,” said one taxi operator, who asked not to be identified for fear or reprisals.

One reason, he said, is the lack of regulations for Uber and Lyft drivers, while his industry must continue to conform to a higher standard.

A teacher was fired for refusing to use a student's preferred pronouns. Now he's suing the school.

A Virginia teacher who was fired last year for refusing to to refer to a transgender student by male pronouns is now suing the school board that unanimously voted to terminate him. The teacher, Peter Vlaming, taught French at West Point High School for nearly seven years.

Vlaming filed his suit in state court on Monday, according to CBS News Richmond affiliate WTVR.

Vlaming allgedly refused to call a ninth grade student by the male pronouns "he" and "him" because he considered it a "lie," principal Jonathan Hochman told the school board last year. The student had transitioned and used male pronouns.

Amber Guyger convicted of murder in wrong-apartment killing of innocent man

A Texas jury rejected former Dallas police officer Amber Guyger's self-defense claims and convicted her on Tuesday of murder in the fatal 2018 shooting of an innocent man eating ice cream in his own home after mistaking his apartment for her own.

The 12-member jury reached its verdict deliberating for less than two days. Guyger stood as Dallas County District Court Judge Tammy Kemp read decision.

"We the jury unanimously find the defendant Amber Guyger guilty of murder as charged in the indictment," Kemp read.

The family members of Botham Jean, the neighbor Guyger shot to death on Sept. 6, 2018, burst into tears as the jury granted them a measure of justice. Jean's mother, Allison Jean, held her head back and stared at the ceiling, raising her hands, thankful that justice for her son had been served.

Maxine Waters Blames Trump For Making Her A Target: ‘He’s Setting Some Of Us Up To Be Killed’

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) criticized President Donald Trump on Wednesday for endangering her own safety by supposedly dog-whistling to white supremacists to start a civil war over the House’s impeachment inquiry.

“[Trump] should not be going after anybody,” Waters told MSNBC host Ali Velshi. “He is the president of the United States of America. He is setting some of us up to be killed. I have death threats constantly.”

“There are a number of people who have been convicted for threatening to kill me, and when he does that he’s dog-whistling to the white supremacists, the KKK, and the dangerous people,” she continued. “We have stories about many of those white supremacists who do nothing but practice how they’re going to be involved in a civil war and fight against this government. This president is irresponsible in so many ways aside from making us a target of these white supremacists.”

Somerset County Sheriff's Office Press Release- (Student with a firearm)

Incident: Student with Firearm

Date: October 4, 2019

Location: Somerset Intermediate School, 7970 Tawes Campus Drive Westover, MD, 21871

Narrative: On October 4, 2019, at the Somerset Intermediate School, students and staff informed the school principal that a student had fled the building after making comments that they possibly had a firearm on them. School staff and students were immediately placed on lockdown as the school system as a protocol in place for emergencies. The school resource officer assigned to that school requested more officers respond to the school to assist in locating the student who fled into the woods. A search of the woods was formed by officers which resulted in the student quickly found and placed under arrest without any injuries to staff, students or officers. A firearm was located in the student’s backpack and quickly secured. The student was transported to our office for processing and later transported to the Lower Shore Children’s Center where he is currently being held. Somerset Intermediate School was also searched by multiple officers to make sure there were no further threats to the building. School returned to normal operation later in the day without any further incidents. This investigation is currently ongoing between the school system, The Somerset County Sheriff's Office, and The Department of Juvenile Services. More information will be passed on to the public when available. Somerset County Public Schools sent out a countywide “Robocall” to all parents giving them an update of the situation at the school. We would like to thank the students who quickly told the staff the information that was heard by that student, as that information was critical to the quick response and ultimately safe outcome of this incident.

After a 12-year-old African-American girl admitted she lied about a group of white boys cutting off her dreadlocks, the New York Times decided to strip the fact that the accused were “white” from its follow up headline.

The global mainstream media, as well as lawmakers like Rashida Tlaib, amplified Amari Allen’s falsehood after she claimed that three white male classmates had pinned her down, called her “nappy” and “ugly” and cut her hair.

This prompted a wave of sympathy for Allen, a lucrative GoFundMe, and a volley of resentment towards young white men.

Rep. Maxine Waters: Trump Deserves 'Solitary Confinement'

Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., has been calling for President Donald Trump's impeachment for months, but now she wants him to be put in prison and placed in solitary confinement.

"I'm calling on the GOP to stop Trump's filthy talk of whistleblowers being spies & using mob language implying they should be killed," Waters, who chairs the Financial Services Committee, tweeted. "Impeachment is not good enough for Trump. He needs to be imprisoned & placed in solitary confinement. But for now, impeachment is the imperative."

This is not the first time Waters has said Trump should be put in prison, but she has not before made a call to lock him up all alone.

She also on Tuesday accused the president of "dog whistling" to his "white supremacists' to create fear because he knows he will be impeached.
