The Government Can Seize Your Property in Violation of the 5th Amendment – The FAIR Act Will Stop It

If you have ever been to or traveled through Arnolds Park, Iowa, chances are you have seen or at least heard of Mrs. Lady’s Mexican Food. Known for it’s large portions and low prices, this family-owned, cash-only restaurant has become a staple for those living in Dickinson County.

Carole Hinders has made an honest living owning and operating Mrs. Lady’s for the last 38 years. But in August of 2013, everything she saved—roughly $33,000—was seized by the Internal Revenue Service. Hinders has not been charged for tax evasion, or money laundering—in fact, one year later, she still has not been charged for any crime at all. The IRS claims her bank account was seized solely because she was depositing less than $10,000 at a time. Last time I checked, making small cash deposits into a personal checking account is not a crime.

According to the New York Times, the IRS seized Hinders’ honest living by enforcing an "increasingly controversial" law known as civil asset forfeiture. This law allows property to be seized if it is suspected of being connected to criminal activity. The problem is, law enforcement is not required to explain what the criminal activity is, much less prove that the person is guilty of such activity.

The Fed is Absolutely Terrified of Something… What Is It?

For five years we’ve been told that the world was in recovery. “Analysts” and pundits have trotted out every explanation imaginable for why things are in fact great and the marketsshould go straight up.

On top of this endless and mind-numbing chatter, the Fed has spent over $4 trillion… an amount larger than most sovereign economies. To put this into perspective, the Fed could have spent less money buying EVERY SINGLE ITEM OF ECONOMIC OUTPUT FROM GERMANY FOR A YEAR.

Between this insanity and the endless chatter of the world being great we have to ask… if things are SO great… why is it that even a 10% correction in stocks triggers panic from the Fed?

See the small dot in the chart above? That is the massive drop that caused both Janet Yellen and Fed President Bullard to verbal intervene to hold the markets up. They couldn’t even stomach a dip that barely registers on the five-year monster bull market without assuring the markets that they’d help.

Uproar over US troops' Ebola quarantine in Italy

The decision to put a dozen American soldiers returning from Liberia into quarantine for Ebola at their base near Venice rather than in the United States sparked controversy in Italy on Wednesday.

"They shouldn't have been sent here, they should do their quarantine for Ebola at home," said the president of the region's assembly, Luca Zaia, insisting "it would have been more respectful" of the United States to have "thought about the risks posed to local citizens".

The Messaggero daily spoke of fears among the local population, with a rise in the number of calls to the emergency services from worried citizens.

Soldiers from the base being given a wide berth in nearby pubs.

Zaia, a member of the anti-immigrant Northern League party, was not the only one to object to the US decision to quarantine the soldiers in Italy.

"The government must send all the US soldiers back to Washington," the anti-establishment Five Star party said, according to media reports.

Ex-Obama Secret Service Agent 'On Verge Of Huge Upset'

Dan Bongino, a former Secret Service agent for President Obama, says that with only days until the election, he and his team have done all they can to win Maryland’s Sixth District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, and he believes he could be “on the verge of a huge upset.”

“I can comfortably tell you right now there is nothing we could have done to work harder,” Bongino said. “I just got back yesterday from Montgomery County, in the pouring rain. It was 40 degrees. I’m sick as a dog right now, and I’m driving in the western Maryland mountains, getting ready to wash, rinse and repeat, so there’s no more effort we could have given.”

Bongino said if elected, he will make the federal government’s tax-and-spend policies his No. 1 issue.

Democrats in Panic Mode, Fear Over Incumbent Losses in Blue States

Desperate Democrats are rushing to save suddenly vulnerable House incumbents, even in states where President Barack Obama cruised to double-digit victories, amid fresh signs of Republican momentum less than a week before the midterm elections.

The once friendly terrain of New York, California, Obama's native state of Hawaii and adopted state of Illinois all now pose stiff challenges to Democrats who are determined to limit their losses next Tuesday. Both parties agree the GOP will hold its House majority; the question is whether Republicans can gain enough seats to rival their post-World War II high water mark of 246.

The current breakdown is 233-199 in favor of the Republicans with three vacancies.

"We're in trench warfare. I'm not going to sugarcoat it," Rep. Steve Israel, D-N.Y., chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, said in an interview.

Va. Beach judge rules defendants can't be forced to give phone pass codes

VIRGINIA BEACH -- A judge has ruled that a criminal defendant cannot be forced give authorities the pass code to his cellphone.

The Virginian Pilot reports that Virginia Beach Circuit Judge Steven Frucci issued the ruling this week in the case of David Baust, who is charged with trying to strangle his girlfriend. Prosecutors wanted to search Baust's cellphone for a possible video of the couple's altercation.

Defense attorney James Broccoletti argued that pass codes are protected by the Fifth Amendment, which shields a defendant from self-incrimination.

Norm Conway Caught Lying... Again

In this week's edition of the Salisbury Independent Delegate Norm Conway, who we hear is down in the polls, resorted to lying in a feeble attempt to continue his tenure. We've already busted him when he tried to take credit for a new firehouse in Salisbury that he had nothing to do with, now he is lying again.

Referring to the now infamous ski mask mailer that was clearly not sent by anyone local Conway said, "What I am really bothered by is that no one on the local level in that party stood up and denounced it. Nobody. I've said to a couple of them, "When that came down your central committee, and you as a candidate, should have been up on your feet saying No. Whoa. We're not doing this here".

To their credit, the Salisbury Independent quoted Conway's opponent, Mayor Carl Anderton, who once again said that he had nothing to do with the mailer and that it should not have been sent.

Conway flat out lied in his answer and we can prove it. GO HERE and HERE.

During the Coastal Realty forum Mayor Anderton, publicly and on video, said that he apologized for the mailer being send, even though he had nothing to do with it.

What Conway knows is that it is ILLEGAL for campaigns to coordinate with outside groups. Anderton has told everyone that he didn't have anything to do with it and I believe him. The Daily Times interviewed the author of the mailer, some guy named Joe Cluster from Baltimore. He took full responsibility.

The case of "who sent the mailer" should be closed, but it's not for two reasons:

1. Norm Conway continues to lie about the mailer and pathetically tries to smear Anderton with it. After 28 years in office you'd think Norm could win an election without stooping to this level. It's shameful.

2. Carl is guilty of vigorously taking on the Democratic tax and spend establishment.

When you take on an incumbent liberal there is backlash. From some yahoo writing a fear based letter talking about a health facility closing if Conway is ousted to the President of SU, who makes over a quarter of a million dollars a year of taxpayer money, attempting to sway the votes of people who are out of work or making $10 an hour, if they are lucky enough to find jobs. The liberal establishments line these people up to say whatever it takes. It's not about truth to them. It's about power. They want power over your life. They want Annapolis to control more. Carl is a threat to that power so they are lining up to take shots at him. Whether the shots are based in truth doesn't matter. They only care if the shots are effective. That's it. It's unethical and immoral, but it is exactly what is happening.

Contrary to what Norm would have you believe, it is Carl who has stayed above the fray in his campaign. He has talked about jobs, taxes and out-of-control state spending so often he sort of sounds like a broken record. He has never once went after Norm for anything personal. Because that isn't who Carl Anderton is. Carl is a thoroughly decent family guy who sees a wrong in Annapolis and is trying to right it. Norm is a career politician who took Carl's challenge too lightly and is now down in the polls and trying anything he can, including lying, to try to continue his tax and spend ways.

Voting for Carl Anderton in this election is a no brainer.

What Military Hardware Has Your Local PD Been Stockpiling? This Database Can Show You!

Americans are rapidly becoming more aware of the extreme militarization of domestic law enforcement that has been steadily transpiring since the early 90’s.

Over the past few weeks, due to the events in Ferguson, many have gotten a glimpse into the massive militarization of the domestic law enforcement apparatus.

The images of the militarized police beamed across America were more reminiscent of the military operation on the battlefields of Afghanistan than those of a domestic law enforcement operation in a town of 25,000 people.

This has prompted citizens across the U.S. to question just what type of military hardware their own local police have been acquiring.

While there is a growing awareness that local law enforcement has been receiving massive amounts of surplus military hardware under the federal 1033 program, authorized by the National Defense Authorization Act, exactly what equipment local law enforcement agencies have been stockpiling has remained largely obscured from the public’s view.

2 Convicted In Secret $1.6M Navy Silencer Deal

A senior Navy intelligence official and a California race-car mechanic have been convicted for their roles in pushing through a secret Navy contract to build hundreds of untraceable rifle silencers for an unspecified program.

Navy civilian Lee Hall of Sterling was convicted of conspiracy and theft of government money for steering the nearly $2 million no-bid contract to his boss’ brother, Mark Landersman of Temecula, California. Landersman was convicted of a single conspiracy count.

Witnesses said Landersman learned how to make the silencers off the Internet and had costs of only $10,000.

ICYMI: Cook Report reclassifies Maryland governor's race as "Toss-Up"

Annapolis, MD – October 31, 2014 – The Cook Political Report has reclassified the Maryland governor's race from "Leans Dem" to "Toss Up." Cook's reclassification comes on the heels of the latest poll that shows Annapolis Businessman Larry Hogan ahead of Lt. Governor Anthony Brown by five points.

"The momentum we are feeling is absolutely incredible and in no way is it more evident then for a respected institution like the Cook Report to reclassify this race as a 'toss-up,' said Hogan spokeswoman Hannah Marr. "A majority of Marylanders reject a third-term of O'Malley-Brown, tax-and-spend politics-as-usual that has crushed our economy and driven away countless jobs, businesses, and taxpayers from our state. Maryland does not want a third term of Martin O'Malley and they are ready to vote for change on November 4."

Disillusioned Millennials Dump Democrats, Blame Obama

In a sad reflection of the hope-and-change expectations, a new national poll shows likely voters in the so-called millennial generation prefer a Republican-led Congress after next week's elections, and young Hispanics are turning sharply against President Obama. As National Journal reports, the poll of 18-to-29-year-olds by Harvard's Institute of Politics (IOP) shows that young Americans are leaving the new Democratic coalition that twice elected Obama as the president's approval rating among Millennial tumbles from 47% in April to just 43% now (and nearly 60% of young Americans disapprove of Obamacare). However, the news is not all good as the future of the American electorate, generally hold Republicans in the lowest regard.

Hogan-Rutherford endorsed by the Maryland Retired Veterans Task Force

ANNAPOLIS, MD – October 31 – The Hogan-Rutherford ticket picked up the endorsement of the Maryland Retired Veterans Task Force (MRVTF) today. MRVTF endorsed the ticket because of Hogan and Rutherford's strong support of the veteran community.

"Boyd and I are incredibly grateful for the endorsement of the Maryland Retired Veterans Task Force," said Larry Hogan. "And while in Annapolis we plan to do everything we can to support our veterans and their families, and keep them in Maryland."

"Lt. Gov. Brown, although a veteran himself, has not been supportive of the veterans community in any substantive way over the past 8 years that he has worked for Governor O’Malley," said Harvey Kaplan, Ph.D, a retired Colonel of the U.S. Army Corp and spokesman for the MRVTF. "Brown’s record proves that he has failed in his efforts to perform the special tasks assigned to him by the governor. His work managing the program to enhance health insurance for Marylanders was a total failure — as evidenced by his disastrous and wasteful handling of the conversion to a new online enrollment system. He has not provided any meaningful support to his fellow veterans and has never testified in their favor on any important bill affecting most of the half million veterans living in our state."

"Larry Hogan has been a supporter of all of the veterans of Maryland for many years, and will continue to serve all of our citizens, including our veterans, as Maryland’s next governor," Kaplan said. "Larry Hogan is a successful businessman, former Maryland Cabinet Secretary, and long-time citizen activist. He has the skills we need."

Arctic Halloween Weather: Snow, Record Lows for Eastern U.S.

An arctic blast is giving millions of people a real reason to shiver on Halloween.

Trick-or-treaters from the Midwest to the Mississippi Valley to the East Coast face a deep chill Friday, and strong, freezing winds are taking hold across the Great Lakes region, which is expecting the season’s first lake-effect snow. Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport had already seen more than 260 flight cancellations and delays by early Friday afternoon because of the winds and snow, according to FlightAware.com.

The southern Appalachians are expected to get up to 8 inches of snow by Saturday morning, forecasters say. Record low temperatures are expected as far south as Miami.

“It’s certainly unusual,” Weather Channel lead meteorologist Michael Palmer said. “It’s early for snow in many areas, and the temperatures are definitely lower than we would expect.” In the Midwest, winds gusting to 50 mph and snow showers are expected around a stormy Lake Michigan.

TMR: 200,000+ Doctors Opting Out of Obamacare, TSA Confiscates Ray Gun Belt Buckle, and Man Forced to Remove NRA Hat to Vote

Over 200,000 Doctors Opting Out of Obamacare
There are many reasons for the declining state of the health care in the United States. It can be traced back at least to the Flexner Report and the creation of the American Medical Association, essentially cartelizing the medical industry. Various government interventions have only served to continue to increase the cost of health care while quality declines, and Obamacare is merely the latest chapter in this progression of interventions.
Many of the unintended (yet entirely predictable) consequences of this policy are coming to fruition, from individuals or families being forced off their plans (right here!) to doctors opting for early retirement over the prospect of dealing with the bureaucratic nightmare. According to a new report, many doctors that aren’t outright retiring are simply opting out of Obamacare plans all together, to the tune of the hundreds of thousands.
Barbara Boland of CNSNews breaks it down:
Over 214,000 doctors won’t participate in the new plans under the Affordable Care Act (ACA,) analysis of a new survey by Medical Group Management Association shows. That number of 214,524, estimated by American Action Forum, is through May 2014, but appears to be growing due to plans that force doctors to take on burdensome costs. It’s also about a quarter of the total number of 893,851 active professional physicians reported by the Kaiser Family Foundation.
In January, an estimated 70% of California’s physicians were not participating in Covered California plans.
Here are some of the reasons why:
1.      Reimbursements under Obamacare are at bottom-dollar – they are even lower than Medicare reimbursements, which are already significantly below market rates. “It is estimated that where private plans pay $1.00 for a service, Medicare pays $0.80, and ACA exchange plans are now paying about $0.60,” a study by the think-tank American Action Forum finds. “For example, Covered California plans are setting their plan fee schedules in line with that of Medi-Cal-California’s Medicaid Program-which means exchange plans are cutting provider reimbursement byup to 40 percent.”
2.      Doctors are expected to take on more patients to make up for the lost revenue, but that’s not happening, because primary care doctors already have more patients than they can handle. “Furthermore, physicians are worried that exchange plan patients will be sicker than the average patient because they may have been without insurance for extended periods of time, and therefore will require more of the PCPs time at lower pay,” says the study.

Log Cabin From 1800s Relocated

Area residents and curious passers-by lined both sides of the street to watch the process of relocating a house.

Four children of Civil War soldiers still live in Virginia

They are rare living links to history, these children of Civil War soldiers.

Yes, children.

As we commemorate the 150th anniversary of the war, it is amazing to consider that offspring of those who fought are still among us. It doesn’t seem possible that the math could add up. But it does.

There are no fewer than four children of Civil War veterans living in Virginia; they are classified as “real” sons and daughters, by the heritage groups that keep track. Two “real” Confederate daughters remain — sisters, in fact, who live in Danville and Rocky Mount — while a “real” Confederate son resides in Roanoke. The only “real” Union child, a daughter, lives in Varina in Henrico County.

All were born of marriages between aging veterans and teen brides. None of the four has any or much memory of his or her father because they all were young children when their fathers died. Nonetheless, they all represent fascinating connections to a long-ago conflict.

Confirmed: Non-citizen voters boosting Democrats

Blockbuster study backs claim illegal ballots behind Obama's 2008 victory

A new study puts numbers behind the claim that the votes of non-U.S. citizens in the 2008 presidential election handed the White House to Barack Obama.

The study authored by Jesse T. Richman, Gulshan A. Chattha and David C. Earnest, who are affiliated with Old Dominion and George Mason Universities, found the number of non-citizen voters “could range from just over 38,000 at the very minimum to nearly 2.8 million at the maximum.”

Of the non-citizens who voted in 2008, the study found “81.8 percent reported voting for Barack Obama compared to 17.5 percent for John McCain.”

The tendency of non-citizens to vote for Democrats was confirmed two years later.

“Similarly in 2010, 53.8 percent of non-citizens reported voting for the Democratic House candidate while 30.7 percent indicated that they voted for the Republican,” the study said.

Maryland's Cyber Security Strategy: Avoid Boneheaded Mistakes

State and local governments can't prevent hackers from trying to break into its systems. But they can make sure employees don't make the task any easier for attackers.

Too often when governments are hacked, the reason is simple.

"Someone on our side made a boneheaded mistake," said Elliot Schlanger, Maryland's director of cyber security.

Gov. Martin O'Malley created the cyber security chief role in August 2013, tapping Schlanger, who also had been the state's first IT secretary. Schlanger's job has been to develop a better strategy to protect the state from cyber threats.

ICYMI: Poll shows Hogan ahead of Brown by 5 points

Annapolis, MD – October 31, 2014 – The latest poll in the Maryland governor's race shows Annapolis businessman Larry Hogan ahead of Lt. Governor Anthony Brown by five points, the Weekly Standard reports.

In addition to leading Brown 44-39, the poll shows stronger support for Hogan among moderate by 6 points and independent voters by 27 points. Hogan also boasts a higher favorability rating, 49 to 41 percent.

"Anthony Brown's negative and deceitful campaign has not fooled Marylanders," said Hogan campaign manager Steve Crim. "After 40 consecutive tax hikes, doubled unemployment, and zero economic growth, Maryland voters are demanding change. They don't want to see a third term of the O'Malley-Brown administration and its failed economic policies."

President Obama audience walks out again - this time in Milwaukee

For the second time in as many weeks, persons have walked out during a campaign speech given by President Barack Obama. Last week, it happened as the president spoke in Maryland – and this week, it happened in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, according to a WND report on Tuesday. It was apparent that the president was still delivering his speech as people were marching out of the venue where he was campaigning for Mary Burke, the Democratic Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate who is trying to take incumbent Gov. Scott Walker’s job away from him in the midterm election next week.

Ironically, just as Obama was telling people not to let anybody stand in their way, they could be seen exiting the event. He said, “Don’t let anybody stand in your way. Unless you’re registering on Election Day, you can vote even if you don’t have a photo I.D.” He continued, “Don’t let anybody mislead you.”

The first notion that things were heading south for an Obama appearance again came in a social media message from Mike Lowe who reports for Channel 6 in Milwaukee and uses the Twitter platform as @MikeLoweReports. Around 8 p.m., he tweeted that some people – not many, but some - were leaving the high school where the president was speaking. Just an hour before that, he tweeted a positive message stating that there was a big overflow crowd in the North Division High School gym awaiting the president and candidate Burke. Apparently, what a difference an hour makes.

Shortly before 8:00 a.m. today, an armored transport vehicle from the GardaWorld security company was northbound on I-270 near Rt. 80. The preliminary investigation indicates a door lock malfunctioned, causing a door to open on the side of the armored container. A bag of cash fell out into the fast lane of I-270, spreading cash into the air and across the highway.

The armored vehicle driver moved to the shoulder of the interstate as quickly as possible. By the time he was stopped, he reported that numerous vehicles were stopped on the interstate and motorists were picking up the cash. Apparently, when a fire department official stopped at the scene as a precaution and activated the car’s emergency lights, the stopped motorists all left the area.

Maryland State Police troopers responded to the scene. A search of the area, assisted by a K9 team, recovered just over $200. A total amount lost is not known at this time and is being assessed by Garda officials.

Motorists who picked up the cash are reminded it is not their money. Recovered cash can be turned in at the Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police. Persons who took the cash from the highway and do not return the money could face theft charges if the continuing investigation leads to their identity.

Volkswagen’s New 300 MPG Car Not Allowed In America Because It Is Too Efficient

You won’t find the 300 MPG Volkswagen XL1 in an American showroom, in fact it has even been denied a tour of America because it is too efficient for the American public to be made widely aware of, and oil profits are too high in America with the status quo in place. No tour has been allowed for this car because the myth that 50 mpg is virtually impossible to obtain from even a stripped down econobox is too profitable to let go of, and when it comes to corporate oil profits, ignorance is bliss.

Years ago I had calculated that it should be possible to get a small car to exceed 100 mpg by putting parallel direct to cylinder water injectors side by side with the fuel injectors, and using the exhaust manifold to preheat the water so it would enter the cylinders as dry steam, thus providing added expansion (which drives the engine) while allowing the combustion process to proceed without reducing it’s efficiency. But I was obviously wrong with my calculations, because they were in fact over 2x conservative.

The 100 mpg carburetor was indeed a reality, and the Volkswagen XL1 proves it with only straightforward nothing special technology we have had since the 1970?s.Though the XL1 can be plugged in to deliver a 40 mile all electric drive, it does not need to be plugged in EVER to achieve 300 mpg. And it does not cheat in any way to achieve the rating, it weighs over 1,700 pounds, has normal tires, and delivers a very good driving experience with a governed top speed of 99 mph. The XL1 could reach a top speed in excess of 110 mph absent governor and turns in a 0-60 time of 11.5 seconds which is by no means leisurely for a car designed for efficiency. The XL1 in no way cheats on performance to hit it’s rating. It is simply the car we should have always had, and have had taken from us in the name of oil profits.

Faked Moon Landings?

A while back, there was some discussion on one of your threads about whether or not the moon landings were faked. Thought you might find this interesting. I have long believed the moon landings were faked, based on the photographic evidence, alone. Here we have an admission that they still aren't sure they can get through the van allen radiation belt. FMTT.
http://ufosightingshotspot.blogspot.com/2014/10/upcoming-flight-of-nasas-orion.html

Upcoming flight of NASA's Orion spacecraft into space, proof that Moon landing never happened?

NASA’s newest spacecraft, Orion, will be launching into space for the first time in December 2014, on a flight that will take it farther than any spacecraft built to carry humans has gone in more than 40 years and through temperatures twice as hot as molten lava to put its critical systems to the test.

According to the video below, spacecraft Orion will test the Van Allen radiation belt first before they can send people through this region of space.

Listen carefully at around 3.36 what the man says: "We must solve this problem before we send people through this region of space” (the Van Allen radiation belt).

Didn't they already send 6 manned crews through this region on the way to the moon in the Apollo missions?

If NASA is still working on testing the Van Allen radiation belt in order to solve that problem before they can send the astronauts through this region of space, than it is really amazing what the engineers of NASA in the 60’s and with the technology of the 60’s have done to solve that problem, leading to the first moon landing in '69.

If the moon missions were real, then it seems the whole “the Van Allen radiation belt" problem should have been solved over 40 years ago and at least have landed on Mars by now and flown manned flights to one of Mars' moons or even a flyby of Saturn or Jupiter.

After watching this video I have to seriously doubt that there were ever any “NASA” manned space flights to the moon.

Help Us To Send the Limousine Liberals Back Home On November 4th

Wicomico's taxpayers will soon get a chance to express themselves at the polls on November 4th.  Here in Wicomico we have all witnessed a massive exodus of businesses, a significant reduction in our local area workforceTaxes have skyrocketed, fees have been imposed - (flush tax), drivers licenses & tolls have all increased and now it is time for us to take the matter to the polls.

Whose hands are dirty:  Our current slate of elected Democratic Delegates have certainly had their dirty hands on the steering wheel - let us examine some of the legislation that has been thwarted or promulgated to the detriment of Wicomico's businesses and citizens.

1.   House Bill 966 - Elected County School Board
HB 966 was to allow the people to decide who would represent them on local school issues.  The issue was to be put on a public referendum.  Certainly - Norman Conway's inaction on the issue was a deterrent to allowing free public choice.

2.  House Bill 1522 - Hotel Rental Tax and User Fees Increase
This legislation was sponsored by Norman Conway and has resulted in an increase in the hotel rental tax rate in Wicomico County - (5% to 6%).  But that was not the only increase that Wicomico residents have suffered - buried in the legislation were also provisions to increase ticket prices by imposing surcharges on events being held at the civic center.  This represents another 'blow' to our citizens pocketbooks.

3.  House Bill 1412Education - Maintenance of Effort (Repeal or override of the County's Revenue Cap)
This piece of legislation strikes at the very heart of Wicomico's residents - as more than 70% of the voters passed the grass roots effort to put a halt to run-a-way real estate taxes.

At SBYnews our hope is that there are still enough 'William Wallaces' out there who will educate themselves on the issues - and correct the current political imbalance.  The battle cry has been sounded - and the choice will soon be yours to determine your destiny.

Government Claims To Keep Us Safe

In the years following the adoption of the Constitution, before he was Secretary of State under President Thomas Jefferson and then president himself, James Madison, who wrote the Constitution, was a member of the House of Representatives. During that period of his life, he gave illuminating speeches and wrote elegant essays and letters about human freedom.

In one of his essays, Madison noted that freedom came about in Europe when the people rose up and cast off or intimidated tyrants, who reluctantly granted the people the freedoms they sought. That was, in Madison’s words, “power granting liberty.” The American experience was the opposite, he argued. After we seceded from Great Britain, the free people of the 13 independent states voluntarily came together and through the states delegated discrete amounts of power to a central government. That was, in Madison’s words, “liberty granting power,” especially since the people reserved to themselves the liberties they did not delegate away.

Much of the political class of the founding generation, unlike our own, viewed the Constitution as restraining, not unleashing, the government. They recognized along with Madison and Jefferson that natural rights — areas of human behavior for which we do not need a government permission slip — are truly inalienable. An inalienable right, like speech, worship, travel, self-defense and privacy for example, is one that cannot be taken away by majority vote or by legislation or by executive command. It can only be taken away after the behavior of the person whose restraint the government seeks has been found by a jury to have violated another’s natural rights.

A Letter To The Editor: Flu Shots

My husband and I had a few minutes this morning so we decided to get our flu shots. We went to CVA since they were at a convenient location. First thing person asks in a smirk on her face and ask if we knew how to use a computer. Well yes we do and very well. Next my husband started into answering questions: Name, address, phone number, e-mail address and a slew of medical questions. We had enough of the questions not pertaining to a flue shot. Anytime we have had a flu shot no questions were ask. I figured they wanted all this information so they could use/sell so they could call or e-mail and try to sell me something. We just pushed CANCEL. We shall get the shot somewhere else. Suppose to be a one minute clinic.??

Anyone else gone thru this "big brother" questions.

Voter Pledge - IMPEACH OBAMA - Sign the pledge

Democrats Unload: 'Obama Has Stepped In It'

Top Democratic strategists are blasting President Barack Obama for putting the Democratic Party in a precarious position heading into the midterm elections.

"It's puzzling--and to the Kay Hagans of the world, infuriating--the number of times President Obama has stepped in it, repeatedly reminding voters that a vote for Hagan is a vote for Obama's policies," Democratic strategist Christy Setzer told The Hill.

Another individual whom The Hill describes as a "top Democratic strategist" groused about Obama golfing this past weekend instead of helping Democrats.

"He and his team could have made it clear a long time ago that there's nothing more important than the Senate remaining in Democratic hands in 2014," said the Democratic strategist. The strategist said the Obama White House has "already set up their defense" and is "laying the predicate down for the blame to come. It's really obvious."

The internecine rancor within Democratic ranks has grown so intense that at least one Democratic candidate says his own party is torpedoing his candidacy.

"My national party--that I'm a member of--(was) trying to drive votes to Larry Pressler [the Independent candidate] and trying to drive up my negatives," Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Rick Weiland told the Argus Leader.

Democrats' angst is eclipsed only by an angry voting electorate fed up with an unpopular president and Congress.

U.S. Government Orders 250,000 Hazmat Suits to be Sent to Dallas

Manager with large shipping company confirms purchase

A manager with a major shipping company has exclusively revealed to Infowars that the U.S. government has ordered 250,000 Hazmat suits to be sent to Dallas, the location of the first Ebola outbreak in the United States.

The manager of the shipping company proved his credentials to Infowars by providing a photo ID and sending a verified email from the company account, but wishes to remain anonymous due to understandable fears that he could be fired for revealing the information.

“I just learned we have been asked to ship 250,000 HAZMAT suits to Dallas, TX. for the US Government. Again this is happening today, we are pulling these suits for the US Government to Dallas, TX,” states the individual, who manages the drivers who work for the shipping company.

New IRS Horror Story Far Worse Than Previous

There are times when it becomes absolutely impossible to support the remarkably bad judgment often displayed by federal agencies under the control of the current administration—even for those of us who are typically viewed as backers of many of this administration’s policies.

The latest installment of frightfully unacceptable government behavior involves a law created in 2000—the Civil Asset Forfeiture Reform Act of 2000—granting the IRS the power to seize the bank accounts of those suspected to be terrorists, drug dealers or engaged in other criminal activity, even when no charges have been filed and no convictions achieved.

The idea behind the law was to require banks to alert federal authorities to patterns of bank deposits that remain slightly below the $10,000 amount that has long triggered a bank’s responsibility to report deposits to the feds.

Wicomico County Executive Rick Pollitt, Building Bridges To Nowhere

You have to love all the "Catch Phrases" all of the Liberal politicians are delivering to the voters in this election.

What saddens me is just how naive the voters are. They listen to Rick Pollitt telling you for the past 9 years, it's about building bridges. OK Rick, WHAT BRIDGES?

We have witnessed massive foreclosures. We are seeing thousands of for sale and for rent signs everywhere you turn in the county. The jobless rate has skyrocketed and yet the Liberals sitting around abusing the affordable housing and public assistance couldn't care less because they have a roof over their head. They are also running for public office.

I've watched Jim Mathias tell people his biggest accomplishment is building coalitions in Annapolis. REALLY JIM, that's it? Do you really think YOU have ANY influence for the Eastern Shore, or have people conveniently forgotten that the Eastern Shore has the LEAST amount of representatives in the House and Senate, proving we have ZERO influence.

Sure, our representatives can scream at the top of their lungs about a five cent per chicken tax but isn't it hilarious how a VISITING Mayor from Delmar, (Carl Anderton) can actually take the time to sit with the Montgomery County representative who proposed the Bill to remove his request AND CARL ISN'T EVEN IN THE LEGISLATURE, YET.

So please Ladies & Gentlemen, tell me where those Bridges are going? It's time for a massive change in our representatives here on the Shore. Ignore the catch phrases and act like you've got some common sense any more.

ARE THINGS BETTER TODAY THEN THEY WERE 4 OR 8 YEARS AGO.

A Letter To The Editor 10-31-14

Joe,

Based off of MJ Caldwell's Facebook post tonight, I thought you might be
interested to know the following campaign expenditures for the two CCJ
candidates:

Jimmy Sarbanes: $68,432.00

MJ Caldwell: $17, 635.12

In a race that should be so sensitive to huge donations (since the winner could
potentially determine a verdict or sentencing for their donor in the future),
the amount of $ spent on behalf of Sarbanes is unbelievable (well actually, it's
a little too believable).
