Democrats Charged in Indiana False Voter Registration Case

Twelve members of a Democrat-aligned group focused on registering black voters in Indiana have been charged with submitting fake or fraudulent voter registration applications ahead of last November's election.

The charged individuals, working for the Indiana Voter Registration Project, created an unknown number of fake registrations as a way to meet quotas, the Associated Pressreports. The Voter Registration Project itself also faces charges.

State Police began their investigation last August, when around a dozen registration forms were flagged by a county clerk for "missing or suspicious information." The investigation eventually expanded from Hendricks County to over 56 counties across the state. It found workers had submitted applications on behalf of nonexistent Indianans, doubled applications for already-registered citizens, and submitted at least one application on behalf of a minor, according to Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry.

BUCHANAN: The Impeach Trump Conspiracy

Soft coup against Trump is conduct of Third World nations

Pressed by Megyn Kelly on his ties to President Trump, an exasperated Vladimir Putin blurted out, “We had no relationship at all. … I never met him. … Have you all lost your senses over there?”

Yes, Vlad, we have.

Consider the questions that have convulsed this city since the Trump triumph, and raised talk of impeachment.

We hear daily on cable TV of the “Trump-Russia” scandal. Yet, no one has been charged with collusion, and every intelligence official, past or prevent, who has spoken out has echoed ex-acting CIA Director Mike Morrell:

“On the question of the Trump campaign conspiring with the Russians here, there is smoke, but there is no fire, at all. … There’s no little campfire, there’s no little candle, there’s no spark.”

ASTEROID WARNING: NASA discovers TEN ‘potentially hazardous’ rocks close to Earth

NASA has announced that it has discovered 10 new “potentially hazardous” space rocks close to Earth that could put life on this planet at risk.

The space agency has been working tirelessly to identify dangers that Earth face from space, and has said that it has found 10 new asteroids of meteors which it believes could harm life on Earth.

The discovery was made by NASA’s asteroid detecting mission – Near-Earth Object Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer or NEOWISE.

Amy Mainzer, NEOWISE principal investigator from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, said: “NEOWISE is not only discovering previously uncharted asteroids and comets, but it is providing excellent data on many of those already in our catalog.

“It is also proving to be an invaluable tool in in the refining and perfecting of techniques for near-Earth object discovery and characterisation by a space-based infrared observatory.”

Parents say U.S. student released from North Korea is in coma

North Korea has released Cincinnati native Otto Warmbier, a 22-year-old college student who had been detained and imprisoned in that reclusive dictatorship for more than a year.

"At the direction of the president, the Department of State has secured the release of Otto Warmbier from North Korea," Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said in a statement Tuesday. "Mr. Warmbier is en route to the United States, where he will be reunited with his family."

Otto Warmbier's parents, Fred and Cindy Warmbier, confirmed in a statement that their son is in a coma. "We have been told that he has been in that condition since March of 2016. We learned of this only one week ago,” they said.

Earlier Tuesday, Fred Warmbier told The Cincinnati Enquirer said the family would hold a news conference Wednesday in Cincinnati, with the details yet to be finalized.

Hillary Clinton and Top Aides Still Have State Dept. Security Clearances

Hillary Clinton and seven of her top aides have retained their State Department security clearances a year after the FBI concluded they were "extremely careless" handling sensitive information.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, revealed Clinton's current security clearance status on Friday. Grassley released the information to express concern about the State Department's slow bureaucratic process, Circa reported.

"The State Department confirmed that it is continuing to review the mishandling of classified information that passed through Secretary Hillary Clinton's unauthorized email server as she and seven former aides retain access to sensitive information," Grassley's office said.

Clinton, who served as secretary of state under former President Barack Obama, and seven of her aides were designated as "research assistants" in order to keep their security clearances.

Clinton was under investigation for using a private email address and home-brewed server to send and receive classified information during her tenure at the State Department.

Former FBI Director James Comey said last July that Clinton and her top aides were "extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information."

Historically black college must pay white professor nearly $5 million for racial discrimination

Retaliation by ‘black power’ dean, evidence destroyed

Only white people can be racist, huh?

A state appeals court upheld a jury verdict of nearly $5 million – three-quarters of thatpunitive damages – against an historically black college for discriminating against a white employee.

One of its many sins that were meticulously laid out by the court? Deleting incriminating emails from the senior official who targeted the white employee.

Beverly Wilkins, a white woman from a poor family, steadily rose through the ranks of Missouri’s Harris-Stowe State University, from adjunct to full-time instructor (off the tenure track). She had regular contract renewals for eight years and “excellent reviews” within her majority-black Teacher Education Department, according to the appeals court’s summary.

*Update* Tractor Trailer Crashes into House-Seaford

Seaford- Delaware State Police are currently investigating a multiple vehicle crash involving two tractor-trailers where one crashed into a house west of Seaford.

The preliminary investigation has determined the crash occurred at approximately 6:12 a.m. today, Tuesday, June 13, 2017, as a 2017 Ford Mustang operated by Joshua Hurley, 19 of Cambridge, Maryland was traveling westbound on Stein Highway (SR20), just west of Shufelt Road (CR552). A 2007 Peterbilt tractor pulling a 2014 Wilson trailer operated by Anthony Hughes, 54 of Cambridge, Maryland was traveling eastbound on Stein Highway approaching the Mustang. A 2000 Peterbilt tractor pulling a 2015 Timpte trailer operated by William Robinson, 70 Federalsburg, Maryland was also traveling eastbound directly behind the first Tractor-Trailer. A 2004 GMC Sierra operated by Oscar Garcia, 37 of Seaford was traveling directly behind the Mustang. For unknown reasons the Mustang left its lane of travel and entered into the eastbound lane of Stein Highway. The first tractor trailer attempted to avoid the collision; however the left front of the mustang struck the left side of the first tractor-trailer. After the initial collision, the first tractor-trailer continued east bound a short distance before pulling over to the shoulder of the roadway. The Ford Mustang spun counter-clockwise in the eastbound lane, directly in the path of the second Tractor-Trailer, resulting in a second collision. The Ford Mustang was pushed off of the north side of the roadway making contact with a utility pole, came to a stop and became engulfed in flames. The second Tractor-Trailer exited the north edge of the road and struck the front of a residence on Stein Highway. The GMC Sierra was not involved in the initial crash and swerved off the road and sustained minor damage. Both of the trailers were empty and were enroute to the Laurel Grain.

Comey Chameleon

Comey, Comey, Comey Chameleon

Boy George would be proud because if there is anyone who blends into his surroundings it is “Something” Comey. What’s his first name anyway? It doesn’t matter; I’ll just have to ask one of his friends. Wait, he doesn’t have any friends. He sits alone at the tea party in his smart tea party dress (not that there’s anything wrong with that), at least that’s what it says in this memo I wrote about it, so it has to be true. After all, I wrote it in a memo.

That makes it fact.

When does it end? When will the Democrats accept the fact that they lost the 2016 presidential election? It’s too late for Hillary; I know that. She’s like Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard, a million years old but still convinced that she remains the star and the focus of everything. Those aren’t wrinkles; it’s just a bad mirror. The only difference is she’ll never be ready for her close-up.

Opinion: President Trump was correct on Paris accord

By Richard J. Douglas
For MarylandReporter.com

By repudiating the Paris climate accord, President Trump began the work of restoring proper limits to presidential power. He also returned authority on treaty-making, usurped by his predecessor, to its proper place: the U.S. Senate. It was the right decision.

Our nation is party to many international treaties on the environment, natural resources, and wildlife. Some date to the 1940s. You may see the list in an excellent U.S. State Department publication called “Treaties in Force.” But with the Paris accord, President Obama disregarded the constitutional process that was most likely to ensure lasting consensus on American treaty obligations: Senate review.

Our nation carefully observes its treaty obligations and expects the same of treaty partners. Durable consensus on those obligations is built in the Senate, not the Quai d’Orsay in Paris, or even the Oval Office. Senate review is a common element among treaties in force for the U.S. today. In fact, it may explain why many were not repudiated or terminated long ago.

Nothing Worse...

Comey and Mueller Have a History as a Deep State Tag Team

In my Sunday column, I wrote of the similarity of the Comey-Mueller investigation of purported "Russian collusion" with the Trump campaign to the confected search for who leaked Valerie Plame's name. This was a scheme against Vice President Cheney that ended in the conviction of his aide, Lewis Libby, for a weakly proven process crime. I had missed that Comey and Mueller may well have honed their Deep State purge of political opponents then, something clearly at the bottom of this nonsensical investigation into "Russian collusion" with the Trump campaign.

According to Michael Isikoff, writing in 2006, the FBI (then headed by Mueller) and an unnamed "senior Department of Justice official" were advised in October 2003 that Armitage was the man who leaked Plame's identity – and yet two months later, upon his appointment to be deputy attorney general, James Comey appointed his friend Patrick Fitzgerald to investigate the leak. It's hard to believe he didn't at the time know full well who the leaker was.

NJ state troopers accused of harassing women during traffic stops

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Two New Jersey state troopers accused of pulling women over to pressure them for dates or to ask for their phone numbers allegedly avoided scrutiny by lying to dispatchers and turning off recording devices.

Trooper Eric Richardson was arrested in June and charged with falsifying records. That was about six months after Trooper Marquice Prather was arrested on similar charges. Police say the cases are not connected.

In court documents obtained by NJ.com, state police investigators allege that Richardson threatened to arrest one woman if she didn't give him her number. He hid the interaction by turning off his dashboard camera and telling dispatchers he had pulled over a man, they say.

President Donald Trump Delivers Remarks At The Department Of Transportation

"Nobody In Power Is Paying Attention To How Close We Are To The Edge"

As our politicos creep deeper into a legalistic wilderness hunting for phantoms of Russian collusion, nobody pays attention to the most dangerous force in American life: the unraveling financialization of the economy.

Financialization is what happens when the people-in-charge “create” colossal sums of “money” out of nothing — by issuing loans, a.k.a. debt — and then cream off stupendous profits from the asset bubbles, interest rate arbitrages, and other opportunities for swindling that the artificial wealth presents. It was a kind of magic trick that produced monuments of concentrated personal wealth for a few and left the rest of the population drowning in obligations from a stolen future. The future is now upon us.

Financialization expressed itself in other interesting ways, for instance the amazing renovation of New York City (Brooklyn especially). It didn’t happen just because Generation X was repulsed by the boring suburbs it grew up in and longed for a life of artisanal cocktails. It happened because financialization concentrated immense wealth geographically in the very few places where its activities took place — not just New York but San Francisco, Washington, and Boston — and could support luxuries like craft food and brews.

Newt: Special Counsel On Russia Should Be Shut Down Based On Comey's 'Deliberate Manipulation'

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich had some harsh words for former FBI Director James Comey, and called for the dissolution of the special counsel on the Russia investigation on the grounds that it was based on Comey's 'manipulation' - calling it 'poisoned fruit.'

The idea that the Federal Bureau of Investigation - [the] top person, man who's in charge of criminal investigation for the entire federal govt. That he would go outside the system deliberately manipulate the system, and that's what he's done.

And I think what that brings into question is whether or not the congress should shut down the independent counsel because it is poisoned fruit.

Gingrich paints Comey as a bitter man out for revenge

The independent counsel, by Comey's own testimony yesterday, was created because of his manipulation, because of hisleak, because of his deliberate intent to force it to happen.

Now since we now know that he's a very bitter person, and we know how deeply he disliked Trump, doesn't that sound more like this is not about law and order? This is not about justice? This is not even about investigating potential crimes. This is a bitter man trying to get even by trying to cause as much pain for the President as he can.

Rascovar: Non-political redistricting is Mission Impossible

By Barry Rascovar

Holy mackerel! Can you believe this? Former Gov. Martin O’Malley has admitted politics played a big role in re-drawing Maryland’s congressional districts after the 2010 Census.

The state’s major newspapers and good-government groups went bananas. Editorial writers had a field day denouncing O’Malley and other Democratic leaders for this dastardly admission.

Politics determining the shape of new congressional districts?

What is this state coming to? Why it’s almost un-American!

Exactly which alternative universe are these people living in?

Gregg Jarrett: Are Mueller and Comey ‘colluding’ against Trump by acting as co-special counsel?

Legal Notice: “Proudly Announcing The Newly-Formed Law Firm of Mueller & Comey. We Specialize In Bungling Cases, Ignoring Legal Standards, And Bringing Down Presidents.”

I have not yet received the announcement in the mail. But I expect it will arrive any day now.

After all, Robert Mueller and James Comey appear to be acting in concert as co-special counsel. Why not make it official with a formal notice of their union?

It was obvious it would evolve this way from the very moment Mueller was named on May 17th.

Which is why I wrote a column two days later, arguing that Mueller should resign as special counsel. He has a flagrant conflict of interest that disqualifies him from serving. To wit, his personal and professional closeness to Comey. They have long been allies. Comey regards his predecessor at the FBI as a mentor, while Mueller considers Comey his protégé.

It was evident at the outset that the fired FBI Director would be the pivotal witness in any potential obstruction of justice investigation by Mueller. Therefore, it was incomprehensible that Rod Rosenstein, the Acting Attorney General, would choose him. It was equally baffling that Mueller would accept the position.

Pence rips Democrats for not working with GOP on healthcare

Vice President Mike Pence blamed Democrats for standing in the way of repealing the Affordable Care Act and said the minority party is harming the country by not jumping on board with the Republican healthcare agenda.

Pence said in a speech in Wisconsin on Saturday that it's clear to him and most other policymakers in the GOP that Obamacare is failing; he even described it as "dead."

"Truth is, you'd have to be blinded by partisanship not to believe otherwise," Pence said. "But, unfortunately, some people are; Democrats in Congress to be exact."

Pence echoed many of President Trump's criticism of obstinate Democrats who refuse to work with Republicans to repeal Obamacare.

Why We Need Term Limits - John McCain & Nancy Pelosi Edition

Does America really need a permanent ruling class of career politicians? According to Real Clear Politics, right now Congress has an average approval rating of just 18.8 percent. It is an institution that is dominated by politicians that are able to keep winning elections over and over again because they are extremely good at raising money. And our permanent ruling class of politicians has learned that it greatly pays to pander to the special interests and the wealthy donors that are able to inject large amounts of cash into their campaigns.

This incestuous system produces many incumbents that are almost unbeatable, and the result is that some of these Congress critters end up staying in Washington much, much longer than they should.

On Thursday, we witnessed a perfect example of this. Senator John McCain’s incoherent questioning of James Comey got so much attention on social media that USA Today did a whole story about it

The Arizona Republican spent most of his allotted time for questioning Comey to ask about the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was secretary of State. But his questioning wasn’t exactly coming out in the most coherent manner.

“So she was clearly involved in this whole situation where, fake news — as you just described it, is a big deal — took place,” McCain said, referring to Clinton.

“You’re going to have to help me out here. In other words, we’re complete, the investigation of anything former Secretary Clinton had to do with the campaign is over, and we don’t have to worry about it anymore?”

Comey replied, “I’m a little confused, senator.”

I would have been confused too.

Record "Wealth" In America? 72% Of US Businesses Are Not Profitable

The Federal Reserve in the United States just released a new report showing that “Total Household Wealth” in the United States has reached a record $94.8 trillion.

That’s an impressive figure.

Even more impressive is that Total Household Wealth has increased by $40 trillion since the lows of the Great Recession in 2009.

No doubt there’s probably a multitude of central bankers and bureaucrats toasting their success in having engineered such magnificent prosperity.

And it’s certainly an achievement worth celebrating. As long as you don’t look too closely at the data.

Total Household Wealth is exactly what it sounds like– the total net worth of every person in the United States, from Bill Gates down to the youngest newborn baby.

So when you add up all the 330+ million folks in the Land of the Free and tally up their combined net worth, the total is $94 trillion.

The thing is that the VAST majority of that wealth, especially the incredible growth over the last 8 years, has been from increases in just two asset classes: real estate and the stock market.

In fact, stocks and real estate alone account for roughly 2/3 of the wealth increase since 2009.

I’ll come back to that in a moment.

Does daycare harm children's development?

Studies show long hours in daycare lead to high cortisol levels, harm children's emotional development.

A 2008 report from UNICEF's Innocenti Office of Research investigated the effects of daycare on children in the world's richest and most developed countries.

Psychotherapist Susan Gerhardt said, "What seems to be most crucial for the baby is the extent to which the parent or caregiver is emotionally available and present for him, to notice his signals and to regulate his states."

"Babies come into the world with the need for social interaction to help develop and organize their brains.

"If they don’t get enough empathetic, attuned attention – in other words, if they don’t have a parent who is interested and reacting positively to them – then important parts of their brain simply will not develop as well."

Latest Gossip: Trump Gives Priebus Independence Day Deadline to Fix White House Mess

Politico is reporting late Sunday that White House chief of staff Reince Priebus has an Independence Day deadline to clean up the messes he is responsible for in the White House.

“President Donald Trump has set a deadline of July 4 for a shakeup of the White House that could include removing Reince Priebus as his chief of staff, according to two administration officials and three outside advisers familiar with the matter,” Politico’s Tara Palmeri wrote late Sunday night:

"While Trump has set deadlines for staff changes before, only to let them pass without pulling the trigger, the president is under more scrutiny than ever regarding the sprawling Russia investigation, which is intensifying the pressure on his White House team. Days after his return from his first foreign trip late last month, Trump berated Priebus in the Oval Office in front of his former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and deputy campaign manager David Bossie for the dysfunction in the White House, according to multiple sources familiar with the conversation."

Book: Special Counsel Mueller Did Exactly What Comey Accused Trump Of Doing

Former FBI Director James Comey in his Senate testimony Thursday accused President Donald Trump of giving him a “directive” to letting former Director of National Intelligence Michael Flynn go free from investigation. It was a major part of the reason Comey and Democrats hoped a special counsel would be appointed in the case, and one was. But that special counsel, former FBI Director Robert Mueller, was accused of doing exactly the same thing in a 2011 book in regards to the deaths of the Branch Davidians at Waco, Texas.

Comey claimed the President privately told him, “I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go. He is a good guy. I hope you can let this go.” The former FBI head testified he took that as a directive from the President.

According to former Georgia Congressman Bob Barr, now special counsel Mueller said nearly the same thing to him during the 1995 Congressional investigation into the 1993 stand-off in Waco, Texas that resulted in the deaths of 76 members of the Branch Davidian cult.

US attorneys general to file lawsuit against Trump over foreign payment

The attorneys general of Maryland and Washington D.C. reportedly plan to file a lawsuit Monday against President Trump alleging that foreign payments to his businesses violate the Constitution.

On Sunday, Delta Airlines and Bank of America both pulled their support from the company. Bank of America followed suit.

Sununu: Lawsuit Against Trump Is Publicity Stunt

The lawsuit filed against President Donald Trump by the state attorneys of Washington D.C. and Maryland on Monday is a stunt by "two pinheads looking for publicity," John Sununu, former governor of New Hampshire and chief of staff to President George H.W. Bush, told Newsmax TV.

In the complaint, Washington’s Karl Racine and Maryland’s Brian Frosh say Trump’s luxury hotel in Washington and his worldwide network of hotel and golf courses violate the Constitution's Foreign Emoluments Clause, which bans him from accepting payments from foreign governments.

"I suspect that what they're referring to is that foreigners may come and rent a room at the Trump hotel in Washington and somehow that affects, triggers the emoluments clause," Sununu said Monday.

"I would have more faith in the sincerity of their suit if they had filed it against President [Barack] Obama and President [Bill] Clinton when they were selling lots and lots of books overseas and receiving the same kind of income from foreign countries. There's a parallel there that they've failed to treat on an equal basis when they had the chance."

Atheists Demand Town Remove Church Welcome Signs

A group of perpetually-offended atheists, agnostics and freethinkers are threatening to sue a small Wisconsin town because of two welcome signs.

The signs, which were posted some 50 years ago, read, "The Churches of Oconomowoc Welcome You."

The Freedom From Religion Foundation said the welcome signs are unconstitutional because they are not neutral toward all faiths.

"It endorses religion over non-religion and Christianity over all other faiths," FFRF attorney Ryan Jayne wrote in a letter to town leaders.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation is on a national crusade to eradicate public displays of the Christian faith. They typically target communities that do not have the financial resources to fight back.

The Wisconsin-based Institute for Law & Liberty fired off a letter to the town council urging them to stand firm.

"It takes something more than a sign put up by private parties reflecting a message of welcome to inflict constitutional injury," president Richard Esenberg wrote in a letter obtained by the newspaper.

TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURES STARTING THIS WEEK ON SOUTHBOUND US 13 BUSINESS IN SALISBURY

Daytime Right Lane Closure Scheduled between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Starting this week, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will temporarily close the right southbound lane on US 13 Business (Salisbury Boulevard) between Newton Street and extending as far as South Boulevard. The right lane closure is necessary for preliminary work associated with an upcoming drainage improvement project that will begin late this summer.

Lane closures are expected to only affect southbound traffic; however, crews could possibly close the right lane heading northbound as well. Roadwork is expected to take place weekdays between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. All lanes will be open for evening rush hour traffic.

With over 23,000 vehicles traveling daily on southbound US13 Business, motorists are encouraged to add extra commute time. MDOT SHA’s contractor, George and Lynch, Inc. of Dover Del., will use cones and barrels to guide motorists through the work zone.

Road projects are underway across Maryland. Click here for e-Road Ready 2017, an interactive map of MDOT SHA’s largest projects throughout the State.

Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don’t follow too closely. Work Zone Safety is in Your Hands. Maryland drivers can also know before they go by calling 511 or visiting www.md511.org for live traffic updates, including construction delays and lane closures.

Moderate drinking is good for you. Except when it’s bad for you

The governmental obsession with litres and units does nothing to address alcohol abuse

Just three months ago the highly regarded and influential publication the British Medical Journal stated that moderate drinking was good for our hearts and that even heavy drinking lowered our risk of a heart attack. Good.

Last week the same British Medical Journal announced that moderate drinking is bad for our brain and causes a steep decline in mental functioning. Bad.

To the dedicated drinker – and this country could take dedicated drinking as our specialist subject on Mastermind – these findings provoked a Sophie’s Choice dilemma. Heart or brain? Do we really need both?

The dilemma is compounded because “moderate” and “heavy” drinking are highly subjective and nuanced terms in this country.

Even the Government is confused. As it stands, under HSE guidelines you can go into a pub in Dundalk and happily knock back 21.2 units of alcohol, content in the knowledge that you are in “the low risk of harm from alcohol” category.
