A Letter To The Editor: Chuck Cook & Mini Parks

Hi Joe,

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

I'm sure you are probably aware, but there are people who are apparently blasting you on Facebook. I haven't read anything or even know what it's about. I do know that some are friends of Chuck Cook and work downtown.

Publishers Notes: Leave it to the Liberals and younger generation WITH NO BUSINESS EXPERIENCE to attack my First Amendment Rights. Leave it to Liberals like Obama to do the same.

I've always said this about Eastern Shore Liberals, they know not how to agree to disagree. Instead, if someone disagrees with them it's almost as if you just killed their Mother.

Where's the JOBS Chuck? Where's the businesses? Your simple minded solutions are nothing more than feel good ideas that do absolutely nothing to bring in economic development.

I honestly do not care what others say about me. They have just as much right to disagree with me as I do with them. However, when, (and I mean it) are these people going to realize that attacking me and my Family will NOT make me disappear? You can bully others but you cannot bully me.

7th & 8th Graders Told To Make Reproductive Organs At Stephen Decatur Middle School

When you're a parent who gets a release form from your child's school asking for permission to have your child go through a sex-ed class, let me assure you, you do not expect the following.

Get this. The young girls were told to make male reproductive organs, (life size)  with clay and use eggs for, well, you know. Once they were done they were then asked to come in front of the class and display/explain what they had made.

Parents are outraged that their children were placed in this position by their instructor. The Principal acted like there was nothing to it. Yet parents remain very upset that their little girls were to stand in front of a class and handle these displays and explain themselves.

At this age group you might expect a clay model similar to the one above but never would we sign off on a release form allowing our children to go through such a ridiculous and horrific thing.

Maybe the Instructor gets off on such a thing, I don't know. No matter, the Parents are outraged and they should be.

Now to any of you fools out there that want to come back here and make stupid jokes, YOU WILL BE IMMEDIATELY REJECTED.

A Letter To The Editor 2-22-14

Joe,

I'm about to blow your mind with a true story on how our welfare state and our local district attorney Matt Maciarllo are trying to bring a one time local to his knees financially . Not only that this has to be the biggest waste of the courts time and money I have ever seen on a local bases.

A friend of mine who I have known for a few years was struggling to make it here on the shore so when he came to me and said "I got great job in FL. And I'm moving" I was sad to see him go but understood. He had some lose ends to tie up before he left. The major one being he was still married to the mother of his child all though they had been separated for years now. The exwife knew of the situation and agreed to the divorce so they both could get on with life. Now here's where it starts to go wrong for my friend. Having to move before the divorce was final my friend was still at ease with the situation Until the day he was served papers for child support. At first he was confused because he has all ways paid and supports his child. Then he noticed something strange . he was being sued by wicomico county for child support for two kids not one. Make no mistake he only has one child with this woman. His ex has another child by another man the kicker here the child is "BLACK". Now my friend is so white if he had red hair he would be ginger, and to top it off the wife is white as well.

To make a long story short he was forced to came back to Maryland for court the other day. On this day in court you had the mother and the real father of the child both standing and claiming the child as there own. Yet the district attorney would not yield to the fact this child is blatantly not my friends child and he would be forced to return to Maryland at a latter date to prove by dna the child is not his. I wish you could have been in court that day the whole situation was laughable at best. Here stands a white man ,white woman and a black man who was trying to do the right thing and take responsibility and a states attorney "who must be blind" trying to force my friend to pay support on a child that anyone with common sense can see is not his.

Long story short this all came about because the ex wife filed for ebt . She told them the child wasn't his and who the father was but because my friend had a good paying job they went after him for the support. Make no mistake this child was never in his life and at no point in time has he ever taken responsibility for the child.

This is just one example of how our courts and states attorney's fall in line with our welfare system when it comes to waisting money.

Note. My friend was told by the courts as far as the state of Maryland was concerned until a test could be setup this child is his. If anything was to happen to the mother before such test he would be held responsible for the child. The child is his till he proves other wise. Hence he has to pay support for the child till DNA can prove its not his. My friend has spent over a $1,000.00 to this point just in travel by the time its all settled he's looking to spend over $2,500.00 not including support.

Salisbury City Council President Jake Day Found GUILTY

Mini Parks Downtown?

I couldn't find it on their Website but WBOC did a story tonight on a child who wants to create little mini parks around Downtown and Mayor Jim Ireton and Jake Day support it.

They claimed he has 250 signatures and a bunch of "likes" on Facebook. Jake Day was not available for the interview, probably because he was in Court today in Anne Arundel County fighting to get his drivers license back.

Nevertheless, if there was one thing I actually liked about Barrie Tilghman it was when she refused to accept the donation of a Park in Salisbury by a Developer. All for a great reason, who will maintain it. This is a serious expense and quite frankly as WBOC did this interview the child was playing on those small exercise areas already in place Downtown that have NEVER been maintained and are completely falling apart. This is clear proof the City can't keep up what it already has.

Now I know there will be some who will come on here complaining that I'm against a project being brought forth by a kid. Well, there are a LOT of things many people WANT. I know they claim they'll raise all the funds to build these multiple mini parks but let's NOT forget they will need to be maintained, something the City of Salisbury has proven in the past they cannot and will not do.

STOP this feel good crap Jim and Jake. STOP using little children from your cult to produce feel good ideas with your Facebook friends when there ARE NO CHILDREN hanging out Downtown. Can't you people come up with better ideas than that? Are there not enough PARKS all over Salisbury????? They are in almost every single neighborhood and GUESS WHAT, no one is ever in them, unless your a Drug Dealer.

Don't make me go back into my files Jimmy and produce pictures during your first campaign where you talked about those Drug Dealers and needles found in the Park in Camden.

When you can produce 10,000 City Resident Signatures, maybe then you'll prove me wrong. Until you get past the numbers of regulars you have on Facebook and really prove your convincing the public ideas like this are actually supported by the entire community at taxpayers expense for upkeep, only then will the majority of us fall for your continued BS. Can't these guys, (Jim and Jake) come up with SOMETHING that is really meaningful to Salisbury? You know, like JOBS.

In the mean time, be prepared to pony up $24,000,000.00 for Jimmy's new Rain Tax VOLUNTEERED to Governor O'Malley and NOT REQUIRED by the State.

County Executive Rick Pollitt Filed TODAY For Re-Election

Wicomico County Executive Rick Pollitt Still Hasn't Filed For Re-Election

As of the end of the day on Thursday County Executive Rick Pollitt still has not filed to run for re-election.

Well, he either thinks he has it in the bag OR he's picked up a new job in Annapolis. Many are hoping he feels the effect of losing his job in the County so he can feel what it's like to be unemployed like the THOUSANDS of other County Residents who have LOST their jobs under his leadership, (or the lack there of).

Shanie Shields Walks Away From Any Fine Or Points On Recent Ticket In Wicomico County

It is listed as Nolle Prosequi. Not even a fine. I know usually they wont give you points if you show up to court but she didn't even have to pay a fine.

Salisbury University Enrollment Is Declining, Just As I Had Predicted In My Campaign

I guess I'll be called the Bad Guy once again for exposing information the rest of the local Main Stream Media has ignored.

Here are the facts:
2003 6,816 Students Enrolled
2011 8,606 "   "
2012 8,657 "   "
2013 8,643 "   "

While other Universities are growing, Salisbury University is starting to feel the pinch of not only the economy, they're starting to experience the serious On Line Degree competition, as seen from many recent City of Salisbury employees and Department Heads.

I mean, why go to school locally when you can go on line for a quarter of the price and get an acceptable degree.

In the mean time your Mayor is banking on MORE Students to fill all of the new Student Housing being built. As I have also been preaching for years, the rental market is going to take a nose dive over the next few years and the real estate market is going to be the worst the Eastern Shore has ever seen.

If I recall properly, the University had been preparing for an INCREASE of around 6,000 NEW STUDENTS and well, as you can see from the above factual numbers the University is in serious trouble.

Now don't come back here saying the numbers aren't that far apart because IF you know anything about business, they should have seen an increase big time to help afford all of the new purchases and upgrades they have made in the past 5 years.

HERE IT COMES SALISBURY AND WICOMICO COUNTY!

BREAKING NEWS: Republican Delegate Addie Eckardt Files To Run Against Senator Rich Coleburn

Just one hour ago Delegate Addie Eckardt files to run for Senate against Rich Colburn.

Folks, I have not spoken to Addie yet but as I'm sure you can imagine, this places me in a very difficult position as I have all the respect in the world for both these fine people.

Many have said that they didn't think Addie would survive this next election based on her age. However, one thing I can tell you is, she's one fine Lady and I need to get to the bottom of this.

More to come... I guess I should have stated this went up at 7:15 PM.

Is Your Home Only Worth $10,000.00?

On the 6 PM news tonight on WBOC, Steve Hammond did a story on the Town of Seaford discussing the possibility of raising property taxes in that town 16%.

As if that wasn't bad enough, Steve tried to use an example of how the increase might impact the community. So, rather than using a normal average figure of $100,000.00 or $200,000.00, he used a $10,000.00 value, trying to make it look like the almost $40.00 increase per year was not so harsh. Leave it to a Liberal News Station to soften things as much as possible.

No Steve, the IMPACT is at least a $400.00 per year increase per $100,000.00 value. Hold it, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe WBOC believes everyone is Seaford lives in a Trailer only worth $10,000.00 each. Well, if that's true, how can all these people afford to buy all those cars and furniture they're constantly advertising on their show? Ohhhhh, because they all live in trailers. I get it now.

K-Mart Of Salisbury Notifies Its Employees That It Is Going To Start Trimming Hours To 30 Per Week

This morning Kmart of Salisbury informed its employee staff that it was going to start trimming its weekly employees hours from 40 hours per week to 30 hours per week.  Could it be that this is the first local big box retailer's response - to initiate personnel changes in preparation for ObamaCare?

Just this week, the White House delayed the Health Insurance mandate until 2016 for medium-size businesses (50 - 99 workers).  Companies with 100 workers or more are getting a different kind of one-year grace period.  Instead of being required in 2015 to offer coverage to 95 percent of full-time workers, these bigger employers can avoid a fine by offering insurance to 70 percent of them next year.

Originally, the employer mandate - which affects companies employing 72 percent of all Americans - was to have gone into effect on January 1, 2014, at the same time the law began requiring most Americans to have health insurance.

As word of the delays spreads, many across the ideological spectrum viewed the delays as an effort by the White House to defuse another health-care controversy before the fall midterm elections.

Locally - the spill over from Obamacare could also result in diminished State & Local income tax revenues as a result of diminished earnings.  Either way - it will undoubtedly cast a dark shadow for Democrats who are now seeking to shelter themselves from the political fallout caused by the detrimental economic effects.

As a City of Salisbury employee and I can't tell you how many times I have been stabbed in the back by my co-workers who are trying to get promoted. They have gone to extreme extents to do the best damage they can do to ruin my reputation. Why? Because I am more trained and educated than they are and I actually do work. Most of the other employees are watching TV or playing games like Solitaire on the computer. Most of the locals are ignorant and depend on the good ole boy system to get promoted. They will do anything to jump over someone to get to the top. The bad thing about it is the top management help them do it and they get away with it. Every time there is an opportunity for a promotion the criteria changes to fit the person that top management wants promoted. I am confident this is happening in all departments in the City of Salisbury and I would like to hear others comment on their problems with City of Salisbury departments. They make the rules as they go along. This is something that Jim Ireton has known even before he was elected and he has yet to do anything about it.

I would like to see this posted as a letter to the editor and see the horror stories about employment with the City of Salisbury. I am confident people will speak out.

EPA's Wood-Burning Stove Ban Deals Blow To Rural Homes

The Environmental Protection Agency recently imposed restrictions on wood-burning stoves that will deal a blow to rural Americans who rely on wood to heat their homes.

Critics charge that the rule changes were enacted following pressure from environmental groups.

The EPA tightened restrictions in January on the level of fine airborne particulate emissions that wood-burning stoves can emit, from 15 micrograms per cubic meter to a maximum of 12 micrograms.

The EPA restrictions would ban the production and sale of the kinds of wood-burning stoves that compose 80 percent of those currently in use in the United States, Forbes reported.

Worcester Board Of Ed Votes To Change School Date To Day After Labor Day

SNOW HILL — For the first time in five years, Worcester County Public Schools (WCPS) will be the only school system in Maryland to start classes after Labor Day for the 2014-2015 school year.

WCPS broke ranks with the rest of the state this week when the Board of Education voted to return to a post-Labor Day start of Sept. 2.

“I didn’t mind being the last school district in the state to go before Labor Day,” said Board of Education President Bob Rothermel, “and I don’t mind being the first school district to go after Labor Day. Maybe it will send a message.”

Actually I moved to Delmarva from New Jersey nearly 20 years ago. I loved the area and still do but last year we gave up and left. Bill Requires Many Employers To Offer Paid Sick Leave

Almost a majority of the House of Delegates is sponsoring legislation to mandate many Maryland businesses offer paid sick and safe leave policy for their employees, a move one research group estimates would cost employers $165 million.

The House Economic Matters Committee heard testimony Tuesday on the the Maryland Earned Sick and Safe Leave Act, HB 968, sponsored by Baltimore County Del. John Olszewski Jr. and 65 other Democrats. Businesses that employ 10 or more would be forced to provide one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours an employee works. Employees paid sick leave would cap at 56 hours per year, equaling one week of the calendar year.

Businesses with nine employees or fewer would only be required to provide an hour of unpaid leave for every 30 hours of work. Employees could cash in this sick time when either they or a family member takes ill and requires care, or if the employee is a victim of domestic or sexual assault and wants to seek mental health treatment.

Wilmington - Troopers have arrested a 17 year old John Dickinson High School student on weapons charges after a loaded handgun was found concealed in his backpack.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at approximately 1:53 p.m. after a Delaware State Trooper, assigned to the John Dickinson High School as a School Resource Officer (SRO), was notified by school officials of a tip received that a 17 year old male student, later identified as Dahmere White-17 of Wilmington, Delaware was possibly in possession of a handgun, concealed in his backpack. The Trooper and school staff were able to locate White in a first floor classroom while class was in session. The Trooper and school staff contacted White inside of the classroom where he was immediately separated from the backpack and school staff escorted White into the main hallway. The Trooper entered the classroom and took possession and secured the backpack located on the seat of the desk where White had been located. White immediately fled on foot down the main hallway and exited the school fleeing into a wooded area. A subsequent search of the backpack revealed a fully loaded Kel-Tec 9mm Luger semiautomatic handgun with the serial number obliterated. (Evidence photo attached)

An extensive terrain search of the surrounding area for White was conducted by Troopers assisted by the Delaware State Police Aviation Helicopter Trooper 4, and New Castle County Police. At approximately 2:35 p.m. White was located by Troopers on Tapley Lane in the development of Limestone Acres, where he was taken into custody without incident.

Further investigation and interviews revealed that White was a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Dahmere White was charged with the above crimes and was being held pending arraignment at the time of this release.

Troopers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident.

Among U.S. citizens in the study, 29 percent could not name the vice president, 43 percent were unable to define the Bill of Rights, and a startling 40 percent did not know America fought Japan and Germany in World War II. Also, 73 percent did not know communism was the main concern of the Cold War, and 67 percent couldn't identify capitalism as our economic system.

Small Town American Dream

Crisfield is struggling to pick itself up from the economic downturn

Coming into Crisfield, a small town on the eastern seaboard of Maryland, the first sight is of a deserted main street with empty storefronts on either side.

Driving further into town, I see rows of foreclosure signs hanging in front of derelict houses - many people have been unable to keep up with their repayments.

After driving three hours from Washington DC, we are hungry - but unable to find a restaurant to eat in. The ones that we see on the web are no longer open for business. The closest thing to a place to eat is a store selling raw seafood. The clerk cooks some for us and allows us to sit in the corner to eat.

A short drive through the town centre and we reach the harbour. The frozen sheets of ice on the water mirror the economic deep freeze that small towns like this have endured since the big banks in New York dragged the US into recession five years ago.

But the people I meet don't blame the bankers - a popular pastime at dinner parties in the capital. Instead, the mayor of Crisfield, PJ Purnell, says: "There's a joke that we tell around here - if there's a Depression it'd take us ten years to see it because we've been depressed for so long."

WHAT IF 20 MILLION ILLEGAL ALIENS VACATED AMERICA?

This article was published in 2005. What has changed in 9 years that makes all these statistics null and void?

Interesting read:

Tina Griego, journalist for the Denver Rocky Mountain News wrote a column titled, 'Mexican visitor's lament' -- 10/25/07. She interviewed Mexican journalist Evangelina Hernandez while visiting Denver last week. Hernandez said, They (illegal aliens) pay rent, buy groceries, buy clothes...what happens to your country's economy if 20 million people go away?'

That's a good question - it deserves an answer. Over 80 percent of Americans demand secured borders and illegal migration stopped. But what would happen if all 20 million or more vacated America ? The answers may surprise you!

* In California , if 3.5 million illegal aliens moved back to Mexico , it would leave an extra $10.2 billion to spend on overloaded school systems, bankrupted hospitals and overrun prisons. It would leave highways cleaner, safer and less congested. Everyone could understand one another as English became the dominant language again.
