OK Mayor Ireton, Let's Talk About Your Priorities

As ALL of you know, Jim Ireton is all about grandstanding and making every possible attempt to discredit most of the City Council but I truly believe this Post will spell out Ireton's 3.5 years as Mayor of Salisbury.

I know many of you have seen the above picture over and over aging but this time I really want you to take a good hard look at it. Do show me ONE place where Mayor Ireton shows the Salisbury Police and Fire Department as a PRIORITY. He does NOT.

Now all of a sudden Mayor Ireton knows there's more than $2,000,000.00+ being returned to the general fund and guess what, LET'S SPEND IT!

Even though emergency personnel are usually EXEMPT from furloughs, did the Mayor treat them as a priority, absolutely not! He went ahead and furloughed them and never looked back, until now.

Ladies & Gentlemen, this is NOT leadership. This is not someone who should be running your City. This is a man who wanted to only give HIS Office Staff raises and NO ONE ELSE in the City. In fact, this is a man who wanted to RAISE taxes in order to accomplish those raises, yet there's $2,000,000.00+ floating around.

I'm just going to make this statement and hopefully all of you hear me loud and clear. This will not happen under my leadership. I WANT Blogs and Main Stream Media to criticize what I do in Office. I WANT each and every one of them to be invited to each and every Press Conference. I WANT them to receive ALL Press Releases. You see, it's not hard to run this City with an open and honest dialogue.

You don't have to point fingers and place blame everywhere else and again the above image PROVES just how hateful Jim Ireton is towards the Council, yet they did what is right in the end. Jim wants to blame everyone else and make it look like a "Council Of No's" yet when you really look at what Ireton proposes as PRIORITIES, hello, wake up people!

When it came to the Mayor wanting to propose 12 new Firefighters through a FEMA Grant, the Council asked a fair question, how much money do we have left over in surplus. It was what we businessmen call compromise and a damn fair question at that. His reply was, NO. He refused to tell the Council what kind of funding was available and Salisbury News learned the Mayor knew the $2,000,000.00+ was floating around August 23rd. The question was asked by Councilwoman Campbell on the 27th, yet the Mayor refused to answer her question.

Ladies & Gentlemen, this is NOT Jim Ireton's money, it's YOUR money! YOU and the City Council have every right to know where we stand financially, especially when making such serious decisions and commitments. Your Mayor refused to answer a simple question and your Mayor knew the answer the entire time.

"This is not Joe Albero's election to lose, it is the Citizens' election to lose."

Police Motorcyclist in Presidential Motorcade Dies After Florida Accident

A police motorcyclist in President Barack Obama's motorcade died Sunday in Florida following a serious highway accident, the top White House spokesman said.

The officer from the Jupiter, Florida, police department was transported to St. Mary's Medical Center in nearby West Palm Beach after being critically injured in the 5 p.m. crash involving a vehicle not in the motorcade.

About three hours later, after Obama had landed back in Washington, White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters the officer, whose name was not immediately released, had succumbed to injuries. Obama was notified of the death, according to Carney, who added that the president said his thoughts and prayers were with the officer's family.

A Letter To The Editor 9-9-12

How did the Democratic Party, which historically advocated slavery and segregation — and which in 1964 opposed voting rights for African-Americans — become the party of preference for the very people whom it long attempted to suppress? Anyone searching the web for “The DNC’s Bold Lies” will find a detailed article by Jeffrey Lord offering a partial explanation.

On the Democratic National Convention site (www.democrats.org), follow the links “About” to “Our History” and read the first sentence: “For more than 200 years, our party has led the fight for civil rights, health care, Social Security, workers’ rights and women’s rights.” Follow the link “Issues” to “Civil Rights,” and read the first sentence: “Democrats have a long and proud history of defending civil rights and expanding opportunity for all Americans.” Both statements are demonstrably untrue.

The Democrats advocated slavery in all six party platforms between 1840 and 1860. They advocated racial segregation in most of their party platforms from 1868 to1948. They opposed the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments to the Constitution, which officially ended slavery and gave legal and voting rights to black Americans.

Later, in response to increasing violence against blacks by the KKK, Republican congresses and presidents enacted several civil rights laws. These made it a federal crime to prevent blacks from holding office, serving on juries, or voting — and prohibited discrimination against blacks in public accommodations. After gaining control of both Congress and the presidency in 1892, the Democrats repealed all of these laws.

Lincoln’s preliminary Emancipation Proclamation, issued Sept. 22, 1862, was openly opposed by most Democrats. A century later, President Lyndon Johnson received the support of Senate Republicans to break a Democratic filibuster (led by a former KKK leader) of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

The claim of 200 years of Democratic civil rights leadership completely ignores its “long and proud history” of active racial discrimination. The Democratic Party possibly could have claimed it had learned its lesson in 1964 — and subsequently reformed itself. But the quotations on the DNC site ignore more than a century and a half of its overt racism.

Any argument which begins with lies is almost certainly nothing but propaganda. A party truly championing civil rights would not need to resort to this revision of its history.

Are there similar lies on the RNC site? Find out. Voters should be extremely skeptical about every pronouncement from either party, and they should do as much research as possible to uncover the truth. Political parties lie to hide unpleasant truths and to mislead voters because lies and propaganda are generally effective.

OBAMANOMICS: 173K NEW FOOD STAMP RECIPIENTS, 96K NEW JOBS

It's like a corrupt media ritual. The moment a Republican enters the Oval Office, America's homeless are suddenly discovered, dragged before news cameras, and used as props to prove how heartless the current administration is. But as soon as a Democrat assumes office, the homeless suddenly disappear – presumably to a place with chocolate rivers and peppermint trees that only Democrat presidents are able to magically manifest as soon as the oath of office is complete.

The media's been even worse with Barack Obama. Not only have the homeless vanished from news coverage, but so have America's poor. But as NBC's David Gregory made clear, if you even try to bring up the record number of food stamp recipients Barack Obama's failed policies have created, you'll be labeled a racist

11-YEAR-OLD PRO-LIFER CALLED 'STUPID KID'

A longtime pro-abortion activist has publicly berated an 11-year-old girl praying the rosary at the site of a pro-life protest during the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte.
“You’re just a stupid kid,” the activist told Zoe Griffin, according to her mother, Brice.
The activist, identified as Sunsara Taylor, approached the group, whose members had been placing 3,300 red carnations on the sidewalk outside Time Warner Cable Center, where the DNC is meeting, to represent the estimated 3,300 abortions performed daily across America.

REAL UNEMPLOYMENT AT 19%

Beneath the surface of Friday's jobs report lies the reality of just how disastrous the Obama economy truly is.

Consider the following 11 economic facts:
1.  When you include the underutilized labor figure with the eight million Americans who have lost hope altogether and stopped looking for a job, real unemployment now stands at just under 19 percent .
2.  If the labor force were the same as when President Obama took office in January 2009, the unemployment rate reported on Friday would be 11.2 percent

TOO BAD, ACLU! THE BIBLE'S BACK IN SCHOOL

Once upon a time in America, most public school children – including several future presidents – studied, discussed and even learned to read from the Bible.

A pair of landmark Supreme Court cases in the 1960s, however, put the fear of litigation into school principals, and a new era in education began, where advocates for the “separation of church and state” used the courts to push the Bible out of classrooms.

This foundational divide in U.S. history was only highlighted by Barack Obama’s controversial remark in 2006, “Whatever we once were, we are no longer a Christian nation.”

Six People Arrested After Large Boardwalk Fight

On September 2, 2012, at approximately 6 p.m. Ocean City Police responded to the area of 709 South Atlantic Avenue in reference to a large fight, involving a subject with a knife.

Uniformed officers arrived at the scene and observed several persons actively fighting in the area directly outside of Davey Jones Locker Room restaurant. As officers began to break up the fight, several of the combatants fled into the Inlet parking lot. One suspect, later identified as Carl Ross Perry, 47, of Berlin, was wearing a t-shift indicating that he was an employee of Davey Jones Locker Room. Perry continued to actively fight, despite attempts by several employees of Davey Jones Locker Room to restrain him. Uniformed officers at the scene attempted to have Perry stop fighting and ordered him to the ground, however, Perry did not comply and actively fought four officers until taken into custody.

Officers located five additional suspects involved in the altercation, who fled the scene in various locations in the Inlet parking lot.

The five other men who were actively fighting with Perry were identified as: Deve St. Fleur, 24, from Immokalee, FL, Jermaine Lacorey Phillips, 24, of Fort Meade, FL, William Sherman Freeman, 33, of Fort Meade, FL, Michael Fitzgerald Smith, 45, of Fort Meade, FL and Valen Joseph, 23, Legigh Acres, FL.

During the subsequent investigation, police recovered a backpack belonging to St. Fleur. The backpack was found to contain several baggies of suspected marijuana, as well as other evidence that indicated the marijuana was being sold. After the arrest of Carl Ross Perry, officers recovered an amount of Marijuana from his persons that was packaged identically to the items recovered from the backpack belonging to St. Fleur.

Witnesses told police that Perry was outside with the five suspects, but at one point went back into the restaurant and returned with an object that was later determined to be a knife. Perry threatened the suspect, at which time the fight began. The investigation concluded that the confrontation between Perry and the five additional suspects was as the result of a dispute during an illegal drug transaction involving Perry.

Based on the evidence, Ocean City Police charged the suspects as follows:

■Carl Ross Perry: common law affray, disorderly conduct, three counts of 2nd degree assault on three police officers, resisting arrest, possession of CDS (marijuana), possession of CDS paraphernalia, two counts of 2nd degree assault and two counts of reckless endangerment.
■Deve St. Fleur and Jermaine Lacorey Phillips: common law affray, disorderly conduct, possession of CDS (marijuana), possession of CDS paraphernalia, possession with the Intent to distribute CDS (marijuana).
■William Sherman Freeman: common law affray and disorderly conduct.
■Michael Fitzgerald Smith: common law affray, disorderly conduct and possession of CDS (marijuana).
■Valen Joseph: common law affray and disorderly conduct.
As a result of the altercation and arrests, three OCPD officers sustained injuries. Two officers were treated at the scene by OC EMS and one officer was transported to Atlantic General Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

All six of the suspects were arrested and seen by an Ocean City District Court Commissioner. Perry was released after posting a $10,000 bond. Phillips and St. Fleur were both held on $10,000 bond and transferred to the Worcester County Jail. Freeman was held on $3,500 bond and transferred to the Worcester County Jail. Smith and Joseph were both released on their own recognizance.

’94 Tape Shows Obama Hatred Of Middle Class

Exclusive Audio: In 1994, Obama Criticized Clinton’s "Values" Pitch
Zeke Miller | Wednesday Sept 5, 2012

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A previously unheard 1994 lecture by a young Barack Obama offers a new glimpse of his days as a up-and-coming, liberal Illinois politician.

The recording, given to BuzzFeed by a Republican source, comes from a lecture on the nature of community values he delivered at Nebraska Wesleyan University on September 9, 1994.

Notice that it was not uncovered by any investigative journalist. They do not investigate Obama.

Obama told the students in Lincoln, Neb. that "values are dynamic,"and he dismissed appeals from everyone from Bill Clinton to Dan Quayle to "static" or "Ozzie and Harriet" values. Obama suggested those values — "The wife is at home, she’s not working, Dad’s got his 9 to 5, there are no African-Americans in these family values." — were woefully out of date.

So Obama believes that blacks have a completely different set of values from whites?

But notice that even during the "last century," Obama was mocking these values as being out of date and from the days of ‘black and white TV.’

No One Is Being Held Accountable For Civilian Drone Deaths In Yemen

When news flashed of an air strike on a vehicle in the Yemeni city of Radaa on Sunday afternoon, early claims that al-Qaida militants had died soon gave way to a more grisly reality.

At least 10 civilians had been killed, among them women and children. It was the worst loss of civilian life in Yemen's brutal internal war since May 2012. Somebody had messed up badly. But was the United States or Yemen responsible?

Local officials and eyewitnesses were clear enough. The Radaa attack was the work of a US drone – a common enough event. Since May 2011, the Bureau of Investigative Journalism has recorded up to 116 US drone strikes in Yemen, part of a broader covert war aimed at crushing Islamist militants. But of those attacks, only 39 have been confirmed by officials as the work of the US.

Real Unemployment Rate Hits 11.7% As Spread Between Reported And Propaganda Data Hits Record

Today's reported unemployment rate: 8.1%. The reason: the labor "participation" dropped to a 31 year low 63.5% as reported earlier. Of course, this number is pure propaganda, and makes no sense for one simple reason: despite the economic collapse started in December 2007, the US civilian non-institutional population since then has grown by 186,000 people every month on average hitting an all time high of 243,566,000 in August. These people need a job, and the traditional shorthand is that at least 100,000 jobs have the be generated every month for the unemployment rate to merely stay flat, let along improve. So what does one get when one uses the long-term average of the past 30 or so years which happens to be 65.8%? One gets an unemployment number that is 45% higher than the reported 8.1%, or 11.7%. That is what the real unemployment rate is assuming the US labor participation rate was realistic and not manipulated by the BLS cronies and the Bank of Spain assisted Arima-X-13 seasonal adjustment models. It also means that, as the chart below shows, the spread between the real and propaganda data hit an all time record, which was to be expected two months ahead of America's banker muppet presidential election.

OCPD CHARGES TWO BOARDWALK BUSINESES FOR DISTRIBUTION OF CDS PARAPHERNALIA

On August 24 and August 30, 2012, OCPD patrol officers discovered two different OceanCity boardwalk businesses selling smoking devices fashioned in a manner to smoke controlled dangerous substances.

Items discovered at 409 Atlantic Avenue

At the time of the discovery the items were seized. At the “Shore Side Shop” (106 South Atlantic Ave) on August 24th the suspected CDS smoking devices were discovered by police in a box on the floor behind the counter. On August 30th, at the “NY Piercing” (409 Atlantic Ave) the suspected CDS smoking devices were observed in a large glass case. At the time of this discovery, the suspected contraband was found in the proximity of various items that promoted the use of Marijuana such as: ash trays, t-shirts and statues all displaying Marijuana leaves.

The business owners are identified as: (Shore Side Shop owner) – Benjamin Darmony, 48, of Berlin, Maryland and (NY Piercing owner) – Claude Darmony, 23, of Ocean City.

During the investigation, Ocean City Police consulted with the Worcester County States Attorney and determined the items were in violation of the Maryland Criminal Law Article prohibiting the sale of such items of CDS Paraphernalia.

On August 30th and 31st, OCPD officers made application for charges for these two business owners with the Ocean City District Court Commissioner and received charges for possession and distribution of CDS Paraphernalia.

Ocean City Police had previously met with both men in June 2012, and furnished them with a 15-page packet containing the Maryland Criminal Law Article governing CDS Paraphernalia, with explanations and examples of what constituted CDS paraphernalia.

The Ocean City Police Department will continue its strict enforcement of all laws related to the illegal possession and distribution of controlled dangerous substance and associated paraphernalia. Persons and or businesses involved in the use, sale or possession of these illegal substances, will be charged with these violations and prosecuted.

Rep. Andy Harris Statement On Dismal August Unemployment Report

Rep. Andy Harris released the following statement regarding the Department of Labor’s unemployment report for August 2012:

“When the President passed his nearly trillion dollar Stimulus bill in 2009 he promised that unemployment would be around 5.5 percent this month. Instead, unemployment has remained above 8 percent for 43 consecutive months. The President’s failed economic policies have left 23 million Americans unemployed, underemployed or not looking for work. The number of Americans participating in the labor force is at a 30 year low. The amount of Americans who have given up looking for a job once again exceeded the number of new jobs, which can't even keep up with population growth. For every new job that was created last month four people gave up looking for work."

“That is why the House voted to stop President Obama’s tax hike proposal on small business owners and the middle class, which would destroy over 700,000 jobs. We need the President and the Senate to work with House Republicans instead of continuing to promote job-destroying policies that the American people can no longer afford.”

CHRISTIAN PASTOR YOUCEF NADARKHANI FREED AFTER 3 YEARS IN IRANIAN PRISON

The Iranian pastor who faced execution for refusing to renounce his Christian faith was freed Saturday after three years in prison in his native country, a group campaigning for his release said.
Youcef Nadarkhani, 32, had been jailed in Iran since 2009 on apostasy charges following his conversion to Christianity. His charges were lowered Saturday to evangelizing Muslims, a three-year penalty, but he was credited for time already served and released, Fox News reported  .
“Today our sources in Iran reported that Pastor Youcef was acquitted of apostasy and released from prison. After languishing in prison for almost three years, he has been reunited with his family,” Jordan Sekulow, executive director of the Washington, D.C.-based American Center for Law and Justice told Fox News in a statement.
