She Claimed to Love All Students the Same – but Nothing Prepared Mrs. Thompson for Little Teddy.

Mrs. Thompson, as she stood in front of her fifth grade class on the very first day of school, told her students a lie. Like most teachers, she looked at the children in front of her and claimed to love each of them same. But that was impossible, because there in the front row, slumped in his seat, was a little boy named Teddy Stoddard.

Mrs. Thompson had watched Teddy the year before and noticed that he didn’t play well with the other children, that his clothes were messy and that he constantly needed a bath. And Teddy could be unpleasant. It got to the point where Mrs. Thompson would actually take delight in marking his papers with a broad red pen, making bold “X’s” and then putting a big “F” at the top of his papers.

At the school where Mrs. Thompson taught, she was required to review each child’s past records and she put Teddy’s off until last. However, when she reviewed his file, she was in for a surprise.

Teddy’s first grade teacher wrote, “Teddy is a bright child with a ready laugh. He does his work neatly and has good manners…he is a joy to be around.”

WHAT'S AN INFIDEL ?

The author, Rick Mathes, is a well-known leader in prison
ministry. The man who walks with God always gets to his
destination. If you have a pulse you have a purpose.
The Muslim religion is the fastest growing religion per
capita in the United States , especially in the minority
races.

Last month I attended my annual training session that's
required for maintaining my state prison security clearance.
During the training session there was a presentation by
three speakers representing the Roman Catholic, Protestant
and Muslim faiths, who each explained their beliefs.

I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam had
to say. The Muslim gave a great presentation of the basics
of Islam, complete with a video..
After the presentations, time was provided for questions and
answers.. When it was my turn, I directed my question to the
Muslim and asked:

'Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand
that most Imams and clerics of Islam have declared a holy
jihad [Holy war] against the infidels of the world and, that
by killing an infidel, (which is a command to all Muslims)
they are assured of a place in heaven. If that's the
case, can you give me the definition of an infidel?'

There was no disagreement with my statements and, without
hesitation, he replied, " Nonbelievers"

I responded, 'So, let me make sure I have this straight.
All followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone
who is not of your faith so they can have a place in heaven.
Is that correct?'

The expression on his face changed from one of authority and
command to that of a little boy who had just been caught
with his hand in the cookie jar.'

He sheepishly replied, 'Yes.'

I then stated, 'Well, sir, I have a real problem trying
to imagine The Pope commanding all Catholics to kill those
of your faith or Dr. Stanley ordering all Protestants to do
the same in order to guarantee them a place in heaven!'

The Muslim was speechless.

I continued, 'I also have a problem with being your
friend when you and your brother clerics are telling your
followers to kill me! Let me ask you a question:

Would you rather have your Allah, who tells you to kill me
in order for you to go to heaven, or my Jesus who tells me
to love you because I am going to heaven and He wants you to
be there with me?'

You could have heard a pin drop.

Needless to say, the organizers and/or promoters of the
'Diversification' training seminar were not happy
with my way of dealing with the Islamic Imam, and exposing
the truth about the Muslims' beliefs.

In twenty years there will be enough Muslim voters in the
U.S. to elect the President.

I think everyone in the U.S. should be required to read
this, but with the ACLU, there is no way this will be widely
publicized, unless each of us sends it on! This is your
chance to make a difference.

First West Nile Virus-Positive Mosquito Pool in 2015 Confirmed; Simple Actions Can Reduce Risk

ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA) announces the first detection of a West Nile virus (WNV) mosquito pool in Maryland in 2015. On August 5, the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) confirmed the presence of WNV in mosquitoes collected by MDA personnel in the City of Bowie (Prince George’s County). ULV spraying to control adult mosquitoes in that section of Bowie occurred the night following trapping. MDA mosquito control personnel continue to work aggressively to reduce mosquito populations in this community and across the State.

“We know that West Nile virus may be present throughout Maryland. It typically appears at this time in the summer, so we are not surprised with this positive finding,” says Secretary of Agriculture Joe Bartenfelder. “The confirmation of virus-positive mosquitoes serves as a reminder to all residents to continue protecting themselves against mosquito bites and to conduct backyard mosquito control activities in addition to MDA’s routine surveillance and spray activities.”

The MDA Mosquito Control Office, in cooperation with DHMH, has been conducting surveillance activities throughout the State to collect and test mosquitoes for WNV, Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) and several other mosquito-borne diseases. These diseases are endemic in Maryland and are transmitted through the bite of a mosquito. Approximately 20 percent of people infected with WNV will develop West Nile fever, which is typically characterized by fever, headache, and body aches which can last for just a few days or as long as several weeks. Less than one percent of people bitten by a mosquito carrying West Nile virus will develop a more severe form of the disease. People most at risk for developing severe disease are those over 50 and those with already compromised immune systems.

Attacks on Arkansas Power Grid

Attacks on Arkansas Power Grid
Perpetrator Sentenced to 15 Years

On the afternoon of August 21, 2013, the FBI’s Little Rock Field Office was notified by a local energy provider about a downed 500,000-volt power line near an active railroad track in Cabot, Arkansas. A power outage ensued. Company officials and local law enforcement believed that very early in the morning, someone had climbed a 100-foot tall support tower and intentionally sawed off the shackles that held up the power line, which then fell across the railroad tracks. A short time later, a train struck the line and severed it.

The FBI was called into the matter because sabotaging an energy facility and causing more than $100,000 in damage is a federal crime. According to energy company officials, the damage in this instance was $550,000.

A search of the crime scene and subsequent investigative activity by FBI Little Rock’s Joint Terrorism Task Force—aided by our local law enforcement partners and power company officials—revealed a great deal of information about what had happened.

Lincoln Man Arrested in Shooting of Two People

Lincoln, DE – State Police have arrested a 21 year old Lincoln man after he fired one round into a house and struck a young child and adult male.

The incident occurred around 12:15 p.m. Sunday August 9, 2015, as troopers were dispatched to a residence located in the 21000 block of West Mayhew Drive in Cedar Creek Estates for a report of a shooting. The investigation revealed that Juan J. Shirey, 21, was standing outside the house with a gun when his mother saw him with it and went out to retrieve it from him due to some recent drug and weapons charges. Shirey began to hand the firearm to his mother when a round discharged from the weapon and traveled through the exterior wall and into the living room striking a 23 month old male in the leg. The bullet traveled through the young child and into the hand of his 24 year old uncle who was standing directly behind him. Shirey’s mother and three other young children, ranging in ages of 6 months to 7 years old, were in the living room when the bullet penetrated the house, but were not injured.

The child and the adult male were both transported to Milford Memorial Hospital in a personal vehicle where the male was treated and released after removing the bullet from his hand. The child was eventually flown to A.I. duPont Children’s Hospital where he was admitted in good condition.

Juan Shirey was transported to Troop 4 in Georgetown where he was charged with Assault 1st, Assault 2nd, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and six counts of Reckless Endangering 1st. He was arraigned at JP3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $140,000.00 cash bond.

A .45 caliber handgun was recovered at the scene by detectives.

Spill In Colorado River Is Three Times Larger Than Originally Estimated

(CNN)The mustard hue of the Animas River in Colorado -- the most visible effect of a mistake by the Environmental Protection Agency that dumped millions of gallons of pollutants into the water -- is striking.

Just a glance at a photo of the orange-yellowish slush is enough to know that something seems wrong. Scientists will have to say just how wrong, and possibly dangerous, the contamination is, though five days after the spill answers are few.

Just how polluted is the river? Is drinking water in peril? Are businesses dependent on the river out of luck?

One question that has been answered is the size of the spill: more than triple than originally estimated. The U.S. Geological Survey reported the size of the spill to be more than 3 million gallons, compared with the initial EPA estimate of 1 million gallons.

Iran: Future US Presidents Can't Cancel Nuclear Deal

Iranian deputy FM says deal contains a clause forbidding future presidents from returning sanctions; 'no change after Obama leaves.'

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht Ravanchi stated on Sunday that the Iran nuclear deal sealed last month with world powers is final, and includes a clause stipulating sanctions cannot be returned in the future by presidents after US President Barack Obama.

"There is a paragraph in the agreement which requires the US administration to stop implementation of the sanctions constantly, and this means that there won't be a change once Obama leaves the office," Takht Ravanchi said, according to the semi-official Fars News Agency.

Possibly fueling the statement were promises made by Republican presidential candidates last Thursday during a televised live debate, in which several vowed to cancel the Iran nuclear deal upon taking office.

Takht Ravanchi's claim of a clause banning the return of sanctions may possibly refer to a classified side deal. It has been revealed the nuclear deal includes such side deals that are not being shown to Congress, and among other things include stipulations that Iran will inspect its own covert nuclear sites where nuclear detonator testing has occurred.

In his comments, made during a Tehran meeting concerning the nuclear deal, the Iranian official said that the US and other countries are unlikely to cancel the agreement - even as the US Congress is currently in a 60-day review period considering that very option.

Drones getting in the way of emergency responders

SAN DIEGO (AP) — As Jason Thrasher lowered his helicopter to a park with seven firefighters aboard, he saw what he thought was another firefighting chopper battling a blaze that was threatening homes.

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection pilot suddenly identified the object as a four-rotor drone only 10 feet from his windshield, forcing him to make a hard left to avoid a collision about 500 feet above ground, according to a report he filed the next day.

“If that drone came through my windshield, I have no idea what could have happened,” Thrasher said in a phone interview. “If that drone hits my tail rotor, for sure it’s going to be catastrophic.”

Soldier Missing From Korean War Accounted For

The Department of Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) announced today that the remains of a serviceman, missing from the Korean War, have been identified and will be returned to his family for burial with full military honors.

Army Cpl. Nehemiah E. Butler Pocomoke City, Maryland, will be buried today in Arlington National Cemetery. In late December 1950, Butler and elements of Company C, 19th Infantry Regiment (IR), 24th Infantry Division (ID), were deployed near Seoul, South Korea, when their unit was attacked by enemy forces. During the attempt to delay the enemy forces from advancing, Butler was separated from his unit
while moving towards a more defensible position. Butler was reported missing Jan. 1, 1951.

On July 19, 1951, a Republic of South Korea military officer told U.S. Army Graves Registration Services (AGRS) personnel about the remains of a U.S. serviceman, who, died and was buried near the village of Chik-Tong-ni. The AGRS team located the remains. Due to lack of documentation, the remains were declared unidentified. The remains were interred as unknown at the U.N. Military Cemetery in Tanggok, and were later disinterred and transferred to the Central Identification Unit (CIU) in Kokura, Japan. In 1955, the remains were transferred to the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (NMCP), commonly known as the “Punchbowl”.

Illegal Alien Crime Accounts For Over 30% of Murders in Many States

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump deserves credit for forcing all 17 Republican candidates to talk about the social costs of illegal immigration, but it is not “Trump’s issue.” We will be making a fatal mistake if we let the media discuss it that way.

As Ann Coulter has pointed out, this is the most critical issue of the 2016 race because this is the issue that will define whether or not there will even be an American nation recognizable as the “home of the free and land of the brave.”

But illegal immigration is not “Ann Coulter’s issue” any more than it is “Tom Tancredo’s issue.” It is America’s issue — not only because it will define America in the 21st Century but because it also defines American elections and who will be voting in elections in 2020 and beyond. It also illuminates the power of the mainstream media to keep issues off the national stage.

Think of illegal immigration this way: If the liberal media can keep illegal alien crime out of the “kitchen table debate,” they can keep any issue out of the debate. And they will if they can get away with it. For those reasons, illegal immigration is much more than an issue of public policy; it is the poster child for media malpractice.

The media’s attempt to suppress public awareness over illegal alien crime and the effects of illegal immigration on American workers’ jobs and wages is nothing less than censorship on a massive scale. We need to start talking about it in those terms and hold the media accountable for the lack of ethical standards.

Let’s look at a few numbers. You haven’t seen them in the New York Times, Atlanta Constitution, or the Miami Herald, nor have they been featured on NBC Nightly news or CNN. So, the average American is blissfully unaware of them.

Between 2008 and 2014, 40% of all murder convictions in Florida were criminal aliens.

In New York it was 34% and Arizona 17.8%.

During those years, criminal aliens accounted for 38% of all murder convictions in the five states of California, Texas, Arizona, Florida and New York, while illegal aliens constitute only 5.6% of the total population in those states.

Precision Nutrition Based On Your Genetics

The mapping of the human genome brought tremendous opportunities for optimizing human health, but this flood of information has also led to more questions.

Can genetic variations lead to long-term health consequences? How can these be bypassed? And, how can clinicians use genetic information to help people achieve their best health?

With the new PureGenomics website application and product platform from Pure Encapsulations, a leading manufacturer of research-based, hypoallergenic nutritional supplements, healthcare practitioners will be empowered with answers to help patients bypass their genetic destiny through personalized nutrition.

Methylation Made Simple

Methylation is a process that takes place in the body countless times per day. The term methyl refers to one carbon molecule attached to three hydrogen molecules and this powerful group of atoms is essential for many processes, like building and repairing DNA, clearing toxins and helping with nutrient absorption.

An individual's genetic makeup helps determine how, and if, certain compounds and elements are methylated properly. Small genetic variations, known as Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (or SNPs) can greatly impact the methylation pathways and potentially contribute to negative long-term health consequences. SNPs affect at least half the population.

The Human Genome and the Promise of Individualized Medicine

Scientific advances have allowed researchers to decipher the human genome and identify genetic variations in a way that is available to virtually anyone who wishes to better understand their genetic makeup and its impact upon their health and wellness. With the introduction of the PureGenomics platform, health care providers now have the ability to TEST, TRANSLATE and TARGET important SNPs in the methylation pathway... and tailor a specific supplement regimen for their patients based on those findings.

"Armed with vital genetic insights, a physician can leverage PureGenomics to recommend specialized nutritional support to help patients live their healthiest lives," said Nathan Morris, M.D., co-developer of the PureGenomics Platform. "PureGenomics is designed to support cardiovascular and neuro-cognitive health, emotional wellness and detoxification — issues that are of universal importance to human health."

Turning Cowpies Into Power Is Profitable For Indiana Farm

For most farms, manure is a pungent problem. At Homestead Dairy, it smells like money.

The family-run American farm invested in a bio-gas recovery system which transforms cow poo and other waste into electricity.

Enough electricity, in fact, to power 1,000 homes, a service which the local utility company pays for handsomely.

But that's just a side benefit.

"It works economically, but one of the main reasons we did it was to try to help take care of the odor control for the neighbors," said Floyd Houin, whose family has owned the farm in Plymouth, Indiana since 1945.

"The land's important to us also because we produce a crop for feeding cows. So we want to do everything we can to take care of the land and the water. We drink the same water as everyone else."

Livestock farms typically store their effluent in open lagoons and the stench does not make them very popular with the neighbors.

The lagoons also have a significant environmental impact because they emit methane and carbon dioxide -- major contributors to climate change -- and can sully the groundwater if they leak or overflow during heavy rains.

Setting up an anaerobic digester -- essentially a giant shed that uses heat to speed up decomposition -- captures both the smell and the greenhouse gases.

GOP Tight-lipped On 'Huge Disaster Waiting To Happen'

Ominous signs of crisis that could explode around the world

Is America headed for an economic collapse?

If so, presidential candidates are remaining eerily quiet about what’s being described as “a huge disaster waiting to happen.”

The U.S. stock market is on the verge of a massive collapse, warned David Stockman, OMB director during the Reagan administration, on CNBC’s “Futures Now” program. He said the recent price action has him even more convinced than ever that the bottom is about to fall out.

Stockman believes the excessive monetary policy from central banks around the world has created a “debt supernova,” and all the signs point to “the end of the central bank enabled bubble,” which could cause a worldwide recession.

In fact, he said, there’s no way to roll back the artificially inflated bubbles the Federal Reserve has caused.

“I think what we are seeing is the beginning evidence that the central bank-driven credit economy is over, and we are in a new era,” he said. “It’s a huge disaster waiting to happen.”

Now that the presidential hopefuls are duking it out in debates, it’s hoped whoever ends up occupying the Oval Office in 2016 will be equipped to handle the seemingly insurmountable challenge of an economic crisis.

For years, Obama has attempted to convince Americans an economic recovery is just around the corner. But more and more, the stark numbers are not supporting this administration’s assurances. Both domestic and international affairs are contributing to increasing concerns that something “big” is imminent.

Financial Times reports the media sector has been “in free-fall” since Walt Disney revised its growth outlook for its ESPN sports channel this week. Viacom shares fell by more than 14 percent. Comedy Central, MTV and Paramount Pictures hit earnings forecasts, but missed estimates on revenues. 21st Century Fox closed down more than 6 percent.

Wal-Mart’s Pay Raise Backfires

Wal-Mart’s minimum-wage hike this year, intended to improve morale and retain employees, is having the opposite effect for many senior workers who didn’t get a raise, according to a new Bloomberg report.

New Wal-Mart workers started making a minimum of $9 an hour in April and will get at least $10 an hour in February. Some workers are complaining that new employees are enjoying the pay increase, while others aren’t seeing any raise at all.

“It is pitting people against each other,” Charmaine Givens-Thomas, a 10-year Wal-Mart veteran, told Bloomberg. “It hurts morale when people feel like they aren’t being appreciated. I hear people every day talking about looking for other jobs and wanting to remove themselves from Wal-Mart and a job that will make them feel like that.”

Some workers suspect that their hours are being cut and annual raises reduced in order to pay for the wage increase for newer workers — a claim that Wal-Mart denies.

“It took me four years to get to $10.80. When minimum wage goes up we don’t receive a pay increase unless we are under the minimum,” one worker wrote in a comment on Walmart’s corporate blog, CBS reported.

“Now our 2 newest associates are making $10.75 and my annual raise is going from 40 cents down to 26 cents. Apparently experience doesn’t get rewarded.”

Eastern Shore Rules For Gracious Living

GENERAL:
1. Never take a beer to a job interview.
2. Always identify people
in your yard before shooting at them.
3. It's considered tacky to take a cooler
to church.
4. If you have to vacuum the bed, it is time to change the
sheets.

DINING OUT:
1. When decanting wine, make sure that you tilt the
paper cup and pour
slowly so as not to "bruise" the fruit of the vine.
2. If
drinking directly from the bottle, always hold it with your
hands.

ENTERTAINING IN YOUR HOME:
1. A centerpiece for the table should
never be anything prepared by a
taxidermist.
2. Do not allow the dog to eat
at the table, no matter how good his
manners are.

PERSONAL HYGIENE:
1.
While ears need to be cleaned regularly, this is a job that should be
done in
private using one's OWN truck keys.
2. Even if you live alone, deodorant is not
a waste of good money.
3. Use of proper toiletries can only delay bathing for a
few days.
4. Dirt and grease under the fingernails is a social no-no, as they
tend
to detract from a woman's jewelry and alter the taste of finger
foods.

DATING (Outside the Family):
1. Always offer to bait your date's
hook, especially on the first date.
2. Be assertive. Let her know you're
interested: "I've been wanting to
go out with you since I read that stuff on
the bathroom wall two years ago."
3. Establish with her parents what time she
is expected back. Some will
say 10:00 PM. Others might say "Monday." If the
latter is the answer, it
is the man's responsibility to get her to school on
time.

THEATER ETIQUETTE:
1. Crying babies should be taken to the lobby and
picked up immediately
after the movie has ended.
2. Refrain from talking to
characters on the screen. Tests have proven
they can't hear
you.

WEDDINGS:
1. Livestock is usually a poor choice for a wedding gift.
2.
Kissing the bride for more than 5 seconds may get you shot.
3. For the groom,
at least, rent a tux. A leisure suit with a cummerbund
and a clean bowling
shirt can create a tacky appearance.
4. Though uncomfortable, say "yes" to
socks and shoes for this special
occasion.

DRIVING ETIQUETTE:
1. Dim your
headlights for approaching vehicles, even if the gun is
loaded and the deer is
in sight.
2. When approaching a four-way stop, the vehicle with the largest
tires
does not always have the right of way.
3. Never tow another car using
panty hose and duct tape.
4. When sending your wife down the road with a gas
can, it is impolite
to ask her to bring back beer too.
5. Do not lay rubber
while traveling in a funeral procession.

Obama Says Critics Of Iran Deal Are Either 'Ideological' Or 'Illogical'

President Obama is facing deep skepticism in Congress, which votes next month on whether to disapprove the nuclear deal with Iran. The president contends that the public will better appreciate the deal in the years after it has taken effect.

NPR's Steve Inskeep spoke with Obama about the deal in an interview that will air Tuesday and Wednesday on Morning Edition. The full video and transcript are now available here, on NPR.org.

In a speech last week, the president warned of the consequences of failure if Congress were to reject the deal, and how the world could look without it.

In his interview with NPR, the president acknowledged that some of the criticisms of the deal are true, especially the temporary nature of some of the restrictions on Iran's nuclear program.

But Obama also spoke strongly of his critics, saying they were either "ideological" or "illogical." Many Republicans as well as some prominent Democrats, including Sen. Chuck Schumer and Rep. Eliot Engel of New York, have said they will vote against the deal.

Service dog dials 911 during fire and saves owner’s life

Here is an absolutely amazing story. You generally think of service dogs as just helping their humans get around and cross the street. This is a special breed

A heroic service dog saved the day by dialing 911 and pulling her blind owner to safety after the home they shared in the Holmesburg section of Philadelphia caught fire on Thursday morning.

Yolanda, a golden retriever, called 911 on a specialized phone and alerted authorities about the blaze and firefighters responded.

They were able to rescue Yolanda’s owner – a woman in her sixties – and she was taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

You can watch the video below. Apparently the dog is TRAINED to dial 911, and has done it before!

Seattle moves to pass “gun violence tax” on all weapons and ammo

This is an ‘ill-advised proposal that will impose a $25 tax on each firearm and a nickel tax on every round of ammunition sold by a retailer in Seattle.’ That’s outrageous. Hot Air is right, in the end this isn’t meant to raise revenue from taxes, it’s meant to shut down gun stores and get rid of guns. It’s a political trial balloon for the Obama Administration. And I’m not surprised that Seattle was the Progressive metropolis picked for this experiment. These people don’t get what “Shall Not Be Infringed” means in the Second Amendment – what’s more, they don’t care. In the end, this will wind up in court and these fascists will lose. The tax payers will be stuck holding the bill in yet another attempt to strip us of our right to bear arms. Gee, Seattle used to be such a nice place to live.

President Obama’s Attitude Toward Radical Islam

Opinion: Is Obama's appeasement of radical Islam the result of political naivete - or something else entirely?

(Israel National News)--
Critics repeatedly claim that the reason President Barack Obama agreed to a catastrophic nuclear deal with Iran is his naiveté, his ineptness, and his being out negotiated. Does Obama’s record validate that thesis? Or is there evidence that President Obama’s feelings toward Islamism may require a different conclusion?

President Obama attended Pastor Jeremiah Wright’s anti-America, anti-Israel church for 20 years while calling Wright a “great man and my mentor.” Obama helped organize radical Muslim racist Louis Farahkan’s Million Man March in Washington – but refused to attend the four million man march against radical Islamic terrorism in Paris. Obama’s closest friends include Rashid Khalidi, Columbia professor, an extremist anti-Israel activist.

Although Obama has called American police and much of America racist, he has refused to ever utter the term “Islamic terrorist” when Jihadists murdered eighteen U.S. soldiers in Ford Hood and Tennessee and said nothing when two Islamic terrorists attempted to murder hundreds of Americans at a Mohammed cartoon drawing event in Texas. He’s even ordered all official military and US government documents to delete such terms.

It may surprise you to learn that during his first campaign for president, Obama said Islamic terrorist groups “Hamas and Hezbollah....have legitimate claims” (NY Times, May 16, 2008). And during the latest Hamas war against Israel, Obama sent Hamas $47 million, urged Israel to accept an early ceasefire, refused sending critical arms to Israel for several days and unnecessarily stopped US commercial flights to Israel for a short period.

Fiorina Laments, No Questions on the Economy

(CNSNews.com) - "It was interesting, I really didn't get asked a lot of questions -- any questions -- on the economy," Carly Fiorina said on Friday, the morning after appearing on the debate stage in Cleveland with six other Republicans.

"I sort of threw my point of view on the economy in at one point. But I wish we'd had more time to talk about that," she told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Friday.

Host Joe Scarborough obliged her: "What do we do about this economy?"

"Three things," Fiorina responded. "One. We have to know what the engine of economic growth is. You know what it is? Small businesses, new businesses, family-owned businesses."

Fiorina said she started her career in a small real estate firm, while her husband Frank started out driving a tow-truck at a family-owned body shop.

"The truth is, most people start out the way we did. Small businesses create two-thirds of the new jobs, they employ half the people. We are crushing them. So when we crush small business, we are now destroying more than we're creating for the first time in U.S. history. We're crushing opportunity."

How are we crushing small businesses? Scarborough asked her.

"Oh, the weight of a 75,000-page tax code -- regulations that just keep pouring out of this government," she responded, moving on to her second point:

An ObamaCare Story from California

Notes from an Engineer.

I am a consulting engineer and make between $60,000 and $125,000 per year, depending on how hard I work and whether or not there are work projects out there for me.

My girlfriend is 61 and makes about $18,000 per year, working as a part-time mail clerk.

For me, making $60,000 a year, under ObamaCare, the cheapest, lowest grade policy I can buy, which also happens to impose a $5,000 deductible, costs $482 per month.
For my girlfriend, the same exact policy, same deductible, costs $1 per month. That's right, $1 per month. I'm not making this up.

Don't believe me? Just go to http://www.coveredca.com , the ObamaCare website for California and enter the parameters I've mentioned above and see for yourself. By the way, my zip code is 93940. You'll need to enter that.

So OK, clearly ObamaCare is a scheme that involves putting the cost burden of healthcare onto the middle and upper-income wage earners. But there's a lot more to it. Stick with me.

And before I make my next points, I'd like you to think about something:

I live in Monterey County, in Central California. We have a large land mass but just 426,000 residents - about the population of Colorado Springs or the city of Omaha.

But we do have a large Hispanic population, including a large number of illegal aliens, and to serve this group we have Natividad Medical Center, a massive, Federally subsidized county medical complex that takes up an area about one-third the size of the Chrysler Corporation automobile assembly plant in Belvedere, Illinois (see Google Earth View). Natividad has state-of-the-art operating rooms, Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging, fully equipped, 24 hour emergency room, and much more. If you have no insurance, if you've been in a drive-by shooting or have overdosed on crack cocaine, this is where you go. And it's essentially free, because almost everyone who ends up in the ER is uninsured.

You Won’t Believe Why The NYC Gov’t Fired A City Employee After 18 Months Of Missed Work

Just when you thought government couldn’t get any more incompetent. Medicaid-eligibility specialist Geoffrey Toliver, 65, passed away from cancer in December last year. Long after he died, New York City officials filed to terminate his employment for missing 18 months of work.

The first post-debate poll is in and you may be surprised at who’s in first!

Surprise! Just as I predicted. The only one I didn’t factor in was Ben Carson. I had Trump, Cruz and Fiorina pegged. Carson came in third. Despite all the theatrics and fireworks, this is exactly what I expected and this poll is right on the money. Who knows if Trump will go all the way? This much we do know, he’s tapped into the collective anger of Americans on issues the establishment Republicans won’t touch. Trump has been working the media, winning the people, while Cruz has been working Congress. He was widely applauded for calling Mitch McConnell the liar he is. If they both keep doing what they are doing and in fact, step up their game, they will rock the political structure in a way we have never seen in recent history, if ever. If everyone will just stay away from the political mud-slinging, this should be a hell of a ride. One I relish and look forward to. “Cry ‘Havoc!’, and let slip the dogs of war.” Or politics, as the case may be.

Live hand grenade found, safely removed from Thurmont McDonald's parking lot

An active military-grade hand grenade was uncovered Saturday afternoon in the parking lot outside the Thurmont McDonald’s.

A bomb technician with the Office of the State Fire Marshal secured and removed the active grenade nearly two hours after first responders received the call, which prompted road closures, evacuations and a cordoned-off 50-foot perimeter around the site at 200 Frederick Road, just off of U.S. 15.

Bomb technician Dale Ednock said the grenade, found lodged about a foot under the pavement, was there for quite some time. The military grenade was likely a relic of the military base located in Thurmont several decades ago, Ednock said.

Teachers Union Publishes Guidelines For ‘Supporting’ Transgender Students

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Education Association – the nation’s largest teachers union – recently released guidelines for school administrators to deal with transgender student issues.

The report, “Schools in Transition,” is a collaborative project with the National Center for Lesbian Rights, Gender Spectrum, the American Civil Liberties Union, and the Human Rights Campaign aimed at explaining transgender students’ rights under federal Title IX laws, SFGate.com reports.

The goal is to help school administrators who aren’t sure how to handle transgender students, such as requests by biological boys who “identify” as girls to use the girls restroom and locker room facilities.

“This guide changes that by giving all the stakeholders in a school the tools to support a transgender student in their school,” the report’s lead author, Asaf Orr, told the news site. “Following this guide will not only assist schools in complying with Title IX, but also create a safe and more supportive environment for all students in the district.”

It’s the same section of federal law that advocates against educator sexual misconduct have pointed to as a means of forcing schools to correct an epidemic of teachers and other school employees who sexually abuse students.

Across the country, teachers are arrested virtually every day for sexual relationships with students – an ordeal that leaves victims with deep emotional scars that can take decades to heal. Unfortunately, the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights that oversees Title IX enforcement has largely ignored pleas from victims to fight for their rights.

The National Education Association has never widely publicized a guide for school administrators to deal with student victims of educator sexual misconduct.

Unfortunately, the NEA has largely ignored that much more serious problem because it’s perpetuated by its members and union officials who work to cut secret deals for the accused.

Blacks Won't Rebuke Farrakhan Terror Threats

Jesse Lee Peterson warns, 'This is pure evil. And it could start a race war'

“If the federal government will not intercede in our affairs, then we must rise up and kill those who kill us. Stalk them and kill them. Let them feel the pain of death that we are feeling.” – Louis Farrakhan speech at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Miami on July 30, 2015

Louis Farrakhan made terror threats against white Americans in his recent speech at a Baptist church in Miami, and the silence from Barack Obama, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, the media and most conspicuously – black Americans – is deafening.

Farrakhan did not make this speech in a mosque. He made it in a Christian church. And the congregation cheered his chilling threats of death against white Americans as if Jesus Christ had come down from heaven.

The Nation of Islam is hosting the 20th anniversary of the Million Man March, with its chilling “Justice or Else” theme, on Oct. 10 in Washington, D.C.

“I’m looking for the 10,000, in the midst of a million. Ten thousand fearless men who say, ‘Death is sweeter than continued life under tyranny.”

Black people are not living under the tyranny of white people. They’ve brought this tyranny upon themselves through their own blame and hatred.

Farrakhan gave a congregation of angry blacks license to kill white cops and other white people. This is pure evil. And it could start a race war, which I have no doubt is his intention.

Whites are not killing blacks in large numbers. In fact, the opposite is true. Blacks are robbing, raping and killing whites at alarming rates. And black-on-black crime is higher than ever in cities like Baltimore, New York City and Chicago.

Maryland's fastest-growing voting bloc: Unaffiliated voters

As the nation gears up for another campaign season, political party membership in Maryland remains lopsided.

Statewide, Democrats hold a more than 2-to-1 advantage over Republicans, but in rural areas like Washington County, Republicans hold a commanding lead. While Democrats struggle to win elections in Western Maryland, their fellow party members maintain a stranglehold on the General Assembly.

But lately, both parties are having to contend with a different political force: the unaffiliated voter.

In Washington County and the state as a whole, the number of voters declining to declare any political party affiliation is surging, according to statistics from the state Board of Elections. In the last five years, numbers of unaffiliated voters statewide have grown more than twice as fast as Democrats, and about four times as fast as Republicans. This continues a trend that started several years before.

What Budget Deficits Don't Tell You About the Debt

There's a lot of argument over which President ran the highest deficits, and contributed the most to the national debt. It's not as easy as you might think to determine how much deficit each President created. The easy way is to look at the deficit by year for the length of their terms.

However, the President isn't responsible for the budget deficit that accrues for his first calendar year in office (January through December).

That's because the budget for January through September 30 of that year was already set by the prior President. The Federal government's fiscal year runs from October 1 through September 30.

Here's an example of how it works. President Bush submitted the FY 2009 budget to Congress in February 2008. Congress approved it, and it took effect October 1 2008. President Obama was elected in November 2008, and started office in January 2009. He had to live with President Bush's budget until his budget was approved and took effect October 1 2009.

This is also a rare example of how a President can add to the previous budget. Right after President Obama took office, the Dow dropped to 6,594.44 and sparked fears of the recession worsening. Obama got
Congressional approval to pass the Economic Stimulus Act. Congress authorized another $253 billion to be spent immediately, adding that amount to Bush's FY 2009 budget.

Troopers Investigate Fatal Crash East of Laurel

Laurel, DE – Troopers are investigating a fatal crash that occurred east of Laurel early last evening that involved a motorcycle, a deer, and a car.

The incident happened around 8:45 p.m. Sunday August 9, 2015 as Brian E. Davis, 45 of Laurel, was operating a 2009 Honda VC7 motorcycle westbound on Laurel Road (SR 24) just west of Christ Church Road when a small female deer entered the roadway and directly into the path of the motorcycle. The front of the motorcycle struck the deer in the westbound lane causing it to fall over on the right side and slide, still entangled with the deer, in a southwesterly direction before coming to rest in the eastbound shoulder. As a result, Davis was totally ejected from his motorcycle and was lying in the westbound lane of travel. Sarah A. Sturgis, 38 of Frankford, was operating a 2008 Ford Mustang westbound on SR 24 and failed to see the motorcyclist lying in the roadway and subsequently ran over him. After impact, the Mustang came to a controlled stop on the south side of the roadway.

Brian Davis, who was wearing an approved DOT helmet, was transported from the scene by EMS to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Sarah Sturgis and her two passengers, a 24 year old female and a 9 year old female, were all properly restrained and were uninjured.

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident. Alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor for either operator in this case. SR24 between Christ Church Road and Old Stage Road was closed for approximately three hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
